Serseth Full Name • Serseth Race • Selonian Birthplace • Corellia Age • 30 Gender • Female Faction • Jedi Concept • Jedi Sentinel, Brawler (Rank 2) Languages • Basic Assets • Commlink Standard Jedi Equipment Belt Lightsaber Pike - A single phase Pike style lightsaber made from Phrik. The shaft has the jedi code inscribed on it. There are no visible buttons or anything, the blade being activated via the force. The total length of it is 5 feet, with the lightsaber part of the blade bringing it up to 6'6". The color of the blade itself is silver. Appearance Height & Weight • 6'2", 210 lbs Overall Looks • Naturally as a Selonian Serseth is covered in thick fur. Her fur is coloured a light brown throughout. Her muzzle is well defined, with very little rounding. Although as a Selonian she can walk on all fours just as naturally as she can on two legs Serseth prefers to walk around on two legs. Although she would prefer to wear nothing, Serseth in an attempt to appeal to Human society tends to wear somewhat loose clothing, finding the typical clothing of the Jedi too constricting. This usually consists of a simple large shirt and cargo pants. However one aspect of her clothing no matter what she wears is a bantha leather sheathe on her back for her lightsaber pike. Personality Profile To those around her the rather tall and muscular Selonian can strike an imposing figure. She does have some more confrontational tendencies however her Jedi Training has curbed most of them. However at stressful moments her confrontational nature can leak out, she tries very hard to keep this from happening however and hasn't had an exceptional incident since she was a padawan. Examples of these confrontational tendencies can include finding it hard to back off from a fight, or refusing to give up chase of someone who tries to run from her. One of the more extreme views she has involves lying. She viewed it wrong as a child, and when she learned about how other Selonians looked at it, began to hate it as well. Serseth will refuse to lie for any reason. Another tendency that can be attributed to her species is the need to take a consensus with a group before deciding a course of action. The need is deeply ingrained into her mind, she tends to feel cheated if an action is taken without any say in the matter. When action is required immediately however she will be one of the first to respond. As a Selonian Jedi Serseth is incredibly loyal to the Jedi Order, she would lay down her life without a second thought, and would expect any other Jedi to lay down their life. She affords a great amount of respect to those she considers part of her "den" and expects the same amount of respect in turn. In battle she is calmer than most would be, finding it relaxing. Anger wise she is relatively controlled. There are things that can make her show her anger, but usually she can keep control of it before it becomes an issue. She tries not to unnerve other species with her fangs, tending to keep her mouth shut as to not show them. Background Father • Cavisek, 68, Fertile Male Mother • Celara, 56, Former Queen Siblings • To Many To List Other Important Connections • None Overall History • Serseth was born to a incredibly unlucky litter of five young Selonians. Born premature, three of the litter were stillborn, while the fourth died shortly after. She was transferred to a Corellian hospital away from her natural Den, her mother believed that she might have a greater chance of survival on a surface hospital When she arrived, the first test results to find out what was wrong with her discovered that she she not only had a higher than average midichlorian count, but also Transient hyperammonemia of the Newborn. A disease where high levels of ammonia stayed present in the body. Her mother allowed Serseth to be sent off to the temple, believing not only that growing up without a litter like other Selonians would be cruel but also because she felt that Serseth was not meant to stay. Serseth spent the better part of the next year on dialysis due to her condition. She was not necessarily a frail baby, but without the machines of the hospital she would die. To be clear she was not necessarily sickly, she just relied on machines to survive while she was a baby. When the doctors declared that she was old enough to survive the trip to Coruscant the jedi watchman of Corellia sent her to the Jedi temple on Coruscant. In her new life at the temple on Coruscant Serseth was a incredibly social creature as she grew up, albeit a odd one. She preferred molusks to the typical food provided for other younglings. As a toddler she was incredibly social and kind, when another child was bullied she would step in and defend that child. If another child was still hungry she would offer some of her food, although most other children rejected her offer of raw meat. As she grew up she found other people incredibly odd. Her natural instincts pushed her towards supporting her fellows, when she saw other children taunting or picking each other or in general not being nice she viewed it as odd. Why would you not support each other, they were essentially a giant family. She found the concept of lying even more disrespectful, to the point where she would consider anyone doing so someone undeserving of her respect. Years after arriving at the temple a sudden interest in information regarding her species came upon her. A group of other younglings had discussed their past. Much to Serseth's suprise when she spoke she knew nearly nothing about her species. She spent weeks researching info about her species. History, culture, and common traits. She found explanation for some of her personality quirks. For why she hated lying and why she felt as if the entire Order was a Pack. As a Youngling Serseth showed a natural affinity for the lightsaber. Although she wasn't the greatest in her class she could still cause some pretty nasty bruises if she wanted to. She had wonderful reflexes and the strength to put power behind her attacks. Typically she fought very aggressively, never letting down her attack. However when she got into sparring matches with those better than her she typically went on the defensive, letting them attack in an attempt to wear them down. Serseth's force powers at a young age were average. While she could lift push and pull she was never great nor bad at it. She never found an affinity for using the force. She could use it well with lots and lots of practice, but it wouldn't be as natural to her as the lightsaber. Not enough to try and refuse to use it, but at times her lack of use could show through. This showed through especially when trying to heal someone or read someones emotions. In her standard classes Serseth was what could be described as an average student. In math and sciences she could be described as... adequate. When it came to history she was absolutely fascinated. She loved hearing about how the Jedi Order was formed, or the wars of the past. When it came to classes such as Astronomy or English she was typically trying very hard to resist the urge to bring a pillow to class. As a social creature she wasn't necessarily liked by the troublemakers of her age, her attitude towards pranks on others or some of their acts she found somewhat barbaric. She made very many friends within the younglings that were more advanced in their lightsaber forms. She was known for caring attitude however, she would be willing to help anyone who needed it, even if they were someone she disliked. As she reached ten years old she was picked up surprisingly young by a Master. Her Master was an ancient Ithorian named Lomus Farahun. As one of his last acts in his life, he took on a aggressive padawan in a attempt to curb some of the aggressive tendencies. Her Master was a kind man, although they disagreed a lot of issues, they were incredibly close. In her first lesson with her new Master he taught her a lesson that she held incredibly close. He asked her a simple question, what would she do if she ever encountered a Dark Jedi. Her reply had been instantaneous, it was the obvious answer for a Jedi. Apprehend him and if she failed to do that kill him. He had chastised her for her rash decision, just because he practiced a different belief did not mean he had broken any laws of the Republic. The Jedi were peacekeepers first, not hunters. This simple question ended up changing Serseth's opinion on her role as a Jedi. As she grew older her Master trained her not just in the ways of the Jedi but as an enlightened individual. He chose a topic of debate for them to debate over. He expected her to have an opinion on anything and everything. He was a incredibly taxing and at times infuriating master in regards to his views. However he taught Serseth patience. As she reached her fifteenth birthday Serseth finally made her first lightsaber. It was something unique to her, she spent nearly a year in advance preparing for. She wanted to create something in respect to the culture of her species. A lightsaber pike, even if it wasn't necessarily a Selonian Glaive. However following a recommendation from her master she decided to go for the standard lightsaber on her first try. She had spent months working on her first lightsaber, rarely leaving her room ever. The end result was a crystal that was attuned deeply to her, something that felt as if it had been an extension of her. She might have loved it. Soon after making her first lightsaber was when her Master decided to teach her Makashi. Seeing the need to balance out the brute force attack that she was usually accustomed to, he opted to teach her the form, to which she agreed. At first the thought of all this fancy footwork and blade work annoying. However as she progressed she saw the detail put into each strike. A feint here leading her opponent to overbalance, leaving him open to a strike from the left. A bunch of smaller scratches working to destroy an opponent who would be impossible to defeat without tactics. Soon after learning the basics of Makashi her master took her on her first mission. It was a simple mission, a quick in and out. She and her master were to retrieve the lightsaber of Jedi who had fallen recently. A family had contacted the temple to tell them they had found it along with a body. The exact details were still unknown. It was still believed to be a relatively peaceful mission, to which the ancient Jedi Master accepted. She had been violated, however she was saved from further indignities an hour later when her Master broke into the room with enough force to crush the criminal and her lightsaber. He apologized profusely for bringing her. He hadn't expected an ambush by a group of people who hated Jedi. He had let his guard down and she had been hurt. It was a few days after the mission that her master confronted her in her room. He apologized for the last time there and tried to get her spirits back up, realizing that no amount of force could bring her out of this attitude. She eventually accepted his apology and began work to replace her destroyed lightsaber. Her master still apologetic gave her a special crystal. Perhaps in a attempt to further apologize for bringing her on that mission. When asked if could supply her with lightsaber resistant alloys he made a request for her, understanding her intention. A while later she was working on her new lightsaber based off of a tradition of the females of her species. However she couldn't concentrate. Ever since the incident she found that the force felt further away from her. As if somehow her pain had cut it off from her. The crystal in front of her felt heavier then a duracrete block in her hands. Nothing like her old crystal. It felt so wrong in her hands. Her desk was a mess of lightsaber parts. A long five foot long shaft was spread across her bed. Her bed was a mess, her fur was a mess. Everything around her was a mess. She couldn't concentrate half the time, everything felt distant. In her debates with her master she only made half hearted attempts to defend her opinions. She couldn't even hold her own ground against her master anymore. She felt as if the world had fallen apart around her. Which was why she planned on leaving soon. She couldn't feel the force as well as she used to. It felt as if that part of her had died on Qiilura. As if her innocence had been taken and murdered before her. Her master eventually explained to her after what had happened on Qiilura. A group of people who hated Jedi had setup a trap. They had killed a Jedi on an entirely different planet then contacted the Jedi saying they had found the corpse of said Jedi. When Serseth and him had entered the mansion they had dropped gas grenades into the room. Even Master Farahun had been surprised, he was out before he had time to use the force to stop the gas. It was after they were both knocked out that they were separated. They had planned on torturing both Farahun and Serseth before killing them. However Master Farahun was more powerful than they thought. The drugs they used on him weren't enough and he used the force to flush them out of his system as soon as he woke up. He spent most of the time as soon as he had woken up looking for her. She couldn't believe that there were people who hated Jedi. It was like hating the people who stopped others from breaking the law for her, why would you stop peacekeepers from ensuring order throughout the galaxy? Slowly but surely she came of mind again. She pushed past her own pain and began her training once again. She pushed herself in her training, attempting to leave her bad memories behind. She soon attempted to build her second lightsaber. After the construction of her second lightsaber she spent most of her time practicing, whether it be her master having her debate with him on subjects for an entire day or rigorous sparring sessions. She went on a few more mission with her master, however hardly anything of note occurred, other than the occasional person firing a blaster at her or the rare nearly dying of boredom in a diplomatic mission. Reaching the end of her Padawanhood Serseth began her Jedi trials. For the Trial of Skill and Trial of Courage her master took her on a mission to hunt down a former Jedi Padawan who had gone rogue. Her master accompanied her, maintaining enough distance to allow her to attempt her trials, but still be able to help incase anything went wrong. It was on Tatooine that Serseth finally caught up with the Dark Jedi Drexyl. She had maintained a cat and mouse game for nearly an entire year before catching up with him. She had chased him across dozens of worlds, Nar Shaddaa, Corellia, Manaan, to many to even remember. She had remembered the thrill of going to a new world die as she encountered each misdeed he committed. Rape, murder, theft for things as little as a couple of credits, at times she felt it hard to maintain her composure as she chased him. However as she met him she could feel nothing but pity for him, he had nowhere to go and no one to show him the error of his ways. She endeavored to try and make him come back willingly, however he denied. She beat him in one on one combat and took his hands to prevent him from killing anyone else. It was on Coruscant that she completed her Trial of Flesh. While pursuing a criminal in the lower sections of Coruscant the criminal fired multiple shots in order to keep her away. She deflected them to the ground, trying to ensure they didn't hit any of the civilians around. As she approached closer to apprehend him he fired it at near point blank, hitting her dead center in the chest before she could react. She was fortunate that she was close to a clinic where she received medical care. Even with a quick response to the blaster wound she barely survived. She spent two months in a bed letting her wound heal. For her Trial of Spirit Serseth meditated long hours alone. She didn't want help to find her vision. She felt it was something she had to do alone. She meditated for weeks before finding what she was supposed to find. She saw herself as an executioner, a person with no remorse and no emotion except for the love of murder. The vision haunted her, she had heard the tales of what other padawans had found but never expected this. She was visibly shaken and swore to ensure that she would never let her pride take the best of her. She told her Master of the vision as soon as possible. Confident, but afraid of the meaning of it. Less then a week later Serseth was promoted to a Jedi Knight. Unfortunately for her the day after her promotion to Jedi Knight her master died due to old age. He was old and Serseth soon realized that the old man was holding out to finish her training. She had seen the signs that he was going to pass away, but never put the pieces together. After the death of her Master Serseth fell into a slump. Life was much easier in her younger days, her Master had her wake up promptly at dawn and usually had tasks or training to do. She took to wandering the temple without much purpose. Upon hearing about a peacekeeper position for a relatively frontier like sector she volunteered for the position. While concerned about her experience in the matter, the council still appointed her to the position. Due to the requirements of the position, she spends rarely any time if any at the temple. Because of this nature she has yet to take on an apprentice. Serseth is very rarely seen at the temple, usually only going there to deliver important news in person rather than through the holonet or recuperate from wounds. She found her hardest real mission as a Jedi Knight was her role in mediating a dispute between two groups. Not one for taking a diplomatic role after either side refused to the terms she found the talks irritating. She found it hard to believe at all that anyone could talk for so long and be so dedicated to making such little gains that they would refuse to compromise. Serseth fondly remembers of these moments, was the day she was done with the talks and could return to the temple where they worked to further the galaxy rather than their own pointless ends. She typically can spend months up to years away from the temple, actively searching for problems in the galaxy that the Jedi should fix. Whether it be a criminal gang holding a street hostage or hunting a criminal that had committed heinous acts that the authorities couldn't handle. Even going out of her way to protect people from bounty hunters or other dangerous people. Eventually Serseth finally found herself an apprentice. A young padawan named Myri. Serseth's first impression was that Myri talked far to much. It was when she realized that despite Myri's handicap, she showed potential. She resolved to develop that potential and formally took over the training of the padawan. With her new apprentice in hand, Serseth began the long process of training Myri to become a knight. Being the polar opposite of Myri Serseth felt that she would be able to fix what she viewed as Myri's weaknesses. She spent the next few years working on her apprentices lightsaber forms and physical training, finding them... lacking. It wasn't long before she began to bring Myri on her missions. Hunting dangerous criminals throughout the slums of Coruscant. Mediating a labor dispute between a fairly significant corporation and a union. Serseth soon became impressed with her padawan's empathy, especially her ability to not have her eyes glaze over during negotiating. After the Jedi Order involved itself in the war against the Sith Serseth took herself and her apprentice to the frontlines. She and her apprentice eventually returned to Coruscant where they fought during the Battle of Coruscant. Serseth and her apprentice encountered a Sith Knight and their apprentice. During the fighting Serseth ended up being stabbed and nearly decapitated. She collapsed and the Sith Knight left her to die to her wounds. Her last sight before losing consciousness was her apprentice being sliced across her back. Serseth eventually awoke a week later and was confined to her bed while her wounds healed. She reported to the council that her apprentice had died during the battle. When her wounds healed Serseth dedicated herself to preparing for the next fight with the Sith. She has stopped leaving the temple on countless missions and has focused on training the next generation of Jedi for a war with the Sith. She refuses to take another apprentice, instead trying to train any who would approach her in the ways of the lightsaber. RP Sample: A WISE MAN MET A voice, old, gravelly, spoke. The voice was of an ancient Ithorian, a man well past his prime. One of the ultimate sources of wisdom in the world. "Now Young Serseth, welcome to our first lesson together. Do not worry, we will not do much today. Just a simple question, to understand each other better." To Serseth this man was older then time itself. His skin was wrinkled beyond belief. He could have easily have been the oldest Jedi Master in the order at the time. His voice had a reassuring quality to it, as if everything would be okay now and forever. She listened intently on every word, wishing to soak up his wisdom. "So now my young padawan, I ask you this. You sense a dark jedi enter a bar where you are. He is doing nothing to harm anyone, he sees you and simply nods. He recognizes you are a Jedi. What do you do?" Serseth scoffed at his response. It was an obvious answer. How could any good Jedi refuse to stop an evil dark jedi. Was it not their duty to stop those who followed the dark side of the force? "I would stop him Master. Its my duty to stop him, hes using the dark side of the force. Hes evil is he not?" The Ithorian laughed at her response. Not a cruel response, but a chuckle at the thought of youth ignorance. A deep kind laugh, full of mirth. "Young Padawan, it is our duty to preserve the peace. If a man has committed no act of crime, he is an innocent no? Even if he follows the dark side of the force. That does not mean he has done anything wrong, just that he follows a side different from ours. Killing a man just for following the dark side of the force is like killing a man in the Senate who disagreed with you. Confront him if you believe he is up to something, but believe that he possibly could have no quarrel with you or anyone and just be there for a drink. I remember meeting a dark jedi master when I was still just a Knight. He was a incredibly well informed man. Kept up with me on recent political issues quite well. He never harmed a fly unless he had to. Never killed a being who didn't attack him first. He was far from evil, however there are those in this order who would kill him just for being on the other side. Which brings me to your assignment while you are my Padawan. Each week you shall watch the holo videos of the most recent Senate hearing. It can be any day of the week as long as its this week's. I expect you to write a report on it and give it to me. A good Jedi should be able to follow politics. For it effects everyone and we should be prepared for any possible legislature, for we are the example to trillions of beings. FIRST LIGHTSABER Her quarters were quieter then space. She was meditating, a green crystal floating in front of her. She was emptying herself into the crystal. Attuning it to herself. The crystal would be her, and her the crystal. She would sit for days without food, relying strictly on the force, only stopping even when even the force couldn't supply her. Each day she could feel the crystal attuning itself to her, becoming unmistakeably hers. She could feel her fears and desires becoming part of the crystal. Her shortcomings and strengths. Her values, who she was becoming the crystal. A interruption brought her back to the world around her. A ancient Ithorian stood in front of her. A look of love and care overcame his face. He placed his hand under the crystal, gently picking it up. "Such an excellent specimen Serseth. A testament to your abilities. It is undoubtedly yours and yours alone. I highly doubt even some of those closest to you could use this, unless they were very close. Sometimes you young people surprise me with how good you can get at things. It feels sometimes as you get old that the young come out with greater and greater surprises." Pride seemed to radiate from him. Serseth gave a rare smile. She had forgotten long ago how much time she had spent in her quarters. She asked. "Master, how long have I been in here? It feels like such a incredibly short time, but when meditating who knows how time flies." He looked at her with surprise. Then chuckled. "Young Serseth, you have been in here for a while. I was beginning to hear rumors among the other Padawans that you had ate some bad meat and we're dead. But to answer your question, a month and a half." She smiled at her master's joke. She eyed the crystal, she could almost swear she saw her reflection in the near completely opaque surface. She looked over to her desk. There, the neatly arranged parts sat. A power cell, a lens, and the housing. Taking leave she began the assembly... THE MISSION The settlement here on Qiilura was a small one. The only discernible feature being the space port. Surrounding the space port was nearly endless farmland. Serseth could barely even believe such endless land could exist after living on Coruscant for so long. The sight amazed her and scared her. She couldn't imagine getting directions on this planet. Turn left at the third Bark field, then keep going until you see the house. She doubted there were even satellites over this planet for a GPS system. She shared her concern with her Master. "Do not worry apprentice, you will stay with me. I've been here once or twice. The family isn't far from the space port, barely even twenty miles." The baritone voice reassured her. The soothing tones calming her nerves. Her master brought the Jedi Shuttle in, guiding it in. On the ground the view of the horizon was amazing. The sun was just coming up, she could swear that her Master had timed this just for her to see. Taking a land speeder the twenty miles was covered quickly, leading them to a large mansion. Surrounding the mansion was a large hedge wall. The windows were covered, hiding the the inside from view. Her Master spoke as they approached. "Serseth, I want you to stay near the main door. I don't trust this. She nodded, taking in the view of the mansion as they approached. It had an ominous feeling even for her. They approached the door of the mansion. Two guards stood at the door. Faces covered by helmets. "My name is Jedi Master Farahun. The Jedi Council has sent me to pick up Master Cadyren's lightsaber. We are unfortunate for his demise, but his possessions should be returned to the temple. " A guard nodded, opened the door and gestured them inside. Master Farahun walked inside, Serseth followed closely behind. Inside the mansion was a grand double staircase, a double wide door sitting between the two staircases. A door to their left and a door to their right stood closed. A servant approached them. "Ah, Master Farahun, we were expecting a representative from the Jedi Temple. If you will please come this way." Master Farahun followed the Servant, moving up the staircase. Serseth stood by the door, ready for something to go wrong. Her hand hovered near her lightsaber, something didn't feel right. Her master hadn't told her how Master Cadyren had died, she wondered why. She knew her master would tell her if it had been important though. That was when the gas struck. A small canister seemed to fall from nowhere, then another. Serseth could feel the darkness coming on. She couldn't feel the force anymore, her last sight was her master succumbing to the gas as well. A slap brought her to her senses. She saw a single man, holding her lightsaber. He was unscrewing the focusing lens to get at the crystal. She tried to reach out with the force to grab it from him. However the force felt distant. The guard laughed. "No Jedi tricks today little girl. Drugs can do wonders can't they?" He pulled the crystal from the lightsaber hilt, eying it. "Not a bad color. Looks like it will catch a pretty penny on the market to. Dead Jedi's lightsaber, could easily catch a couple thousand credits. You aren't that bad looking yourself, if we put you on the slave market we could easily cover the costs of knocking you and your master out. Which brings me to the next job. Morale Breaking." He sounded evil, like a man who was only interested in money. As if he would be the one to sell you short if the right credits were involved. And as he approached her she realized his intentions. She screamed, as loud as she could. He laughed. APOLOGY ACCEPTED "I am very sorry for this Serseth." He hardly used her name. Infact, this was the first time in years he had used it. "I'm sorry. I should have left you with the ship on this one. I didn't expect a trap. Those men were part of a group who hate Jedi. They must have killed Master Cadyren and told the temple in attempt to lure more Jedi here. I should have been more prepared for this eventuality. I promise it wont happen again." Serseth simply remained quiet, she just wanted off this planet. It didn't matter to her that her that her lightsaber had been crushed when her Master had force kicked the door in. She just needed to get as far away from this planet as possible. REBIRTH Once again the crystal floated in front of her, it was once again her and she was the crystal. She could feel a part of herself enter the crystal and leave even more of herself behind. She had spent an entire month attuning this crystal. It felt different from her other one. This one felt meant for her. As if it was already destined for her. As if it knew her and wanted to be hers. Reaching out with the force she grabbed the housing for the crystal and placed it gingerly inside. Attaching the housing to the phrik alloy shaft she finished up her second lightsaber. She thumbed the activation switch with the force. The silver blade appeared, she took a practice swing, the weight of the lightsaber pike in her hands felt amazingly good. It felt as if she had found a long lost friend. She deactivated the lightsaber, and smiled for the first time in a while TRIAL OF SPIRIT She had sat there for hours meditating. She had sat there for weeks, looking to find what she needed to for her to pass the Trial of Spirit. She could find nothing, nothing would come to her, she couldn't find anything within her. It seemed not even the force would provide her for answer for herself. Letting her meditation slip she sighed and stood up. She stretched her arms and legs, the long sitting in one place had left her stiff. She sat on her bed. It seemed as if the Trial of Spirit would be waiting another day. She spent even more time after that meditating, attempting to induce a vision. When suddenly she was enveloped. She saw what at first was a simple lack of light, but then realized it was a shroud. A dark all encompassing shroud that blocked all light. Then she saw herself standing there, a grin on her face, a red lightsaber in hand. She saw her past flashing behind herself, saw herself becoming the judge, jury, and executioner. It was horrifyingly wrong, she wasn't like this. She snapped back to reality. She fell over onto her back, breathing heavily. The vision replayed itself in her mind. She couldn't tell what it meant. She knew it was a warning at least. She mulled over it for a few days before deciphering it. She couldn't allow herself to stay in the past, events that happened months ago or even a year ago shouldn't have say in what she does. She strode to her master's quarters to inform him of her revelation. With that she completed her trial of spirit. DEATH OF A WISE MAN She had received the call to come to the medical bay at dawn on the first day of her Knighthood. The temple seemed to her to be gloomy, as if the entire temple was amplifying her feelings. The overcast outside was cloudy and a steady drizzle fell. Serseth entered the medical bay and headed straight to the ancient Ithorian lying in one of the beds there. He seemed to be in horrible shape, his breathing was labored and slow. As if he was barely holding on. He turned to face her as she approached, as he spoke his voice seemed strained, as if he was pushing it further then it was ever supposed to go. "Knight Serseth, I am sorry you have to see me like this. Unfortunately we all must grow old eventually. You will do so too, and when you look on the young you shall see all your hopes and desires for the Galaxy slowly coming to fruition. Whether it may take millenia or even days we see that in all the young. I hope to see you do great things. I am nearly 110 years old Serseth, nearly 40 years past what most others in my species have lived. I have lived a good life, I've had several great apprentices who have made me proud. I believe now, it is time for me to rest." Her Master smiled at her. Then he closed his eyes, dropped his head on the pillow. The machines hooked up to him shrilled and beeped as his heart stopped. Serseth stepped back to let the Healers at him. She already knew the would fail to resuscitate him. TRIAL OF COURAGE Only 10 feet separated her from the Dark Jedi. She didn't want to kill him if she didn't have to. That would be wrong, even for a normal person to kill without a reason. For her, killing without reason would be a affront to everything she and the Jedi Order stood for. She had to give him the choice to surrender, he may not deserve the chance, but nevertheless she offered him the chance. "This is your only chance Drexyl, I've chased you between here and Coruscant, you can't run now. Surrender, please, I don't want to have to fight you." Drexyl was an arrogant man, someone who refused to back down from a challenge. He had been exiled from the Jedi Order for nearly killing another Padawan during a sparring match. The student was still in recovery to this day. His left leg shattered and skull fractured in multiple places. He had barely survived his injuries even with the quick response time from the Jedi Healer. "Padawan Serseth, I remember you from the temple. You were a joke with that little toy pike of yours. You were slow with it, you could barely even use it last time I visited the temple. So here's what I think, you will drop your weapon, and I promise I'll be quick with you." Serseth sighed, she had given him the ultimatum. She couldn't go back on her word now. She reached through the force and activated the blade. She barely reacted in time as the Dark Jedi closed the distance in a hate induced charge. He attacked her furiously, using the force to enhance the speed of his attacks. A quick overhead slice was dodged by ducking beneath it. Taking the opportunity she jabbed him with the butt of the shaft of her pike. Enraged he doubled his efforts, putting Serseth on the defensive. A block to a overhead slash was met with kick to her gut. A block to her side met with the backhand of his hand. She jumped back, using the force to enhance her leap. Using the distance provided by her leap she used the new found distance to her advantage, keeping him out of range of her with the superior length of her pike. Using quick jabs and slices she forced him to keep his distance. However a quick roll past her blade forced her back into close quarters. Back in close quarters the dark jedi pressed the advantage. Using quick powerful blows he battered her guard. Teeth rattling from blocking the power blows, she could feel her strength fading. She was losing the fight, the powerful blows seemed to be getting faster and faster in her eyes, the power behind each one felt more powerful then the last. Sensing the end he raised his arms for an overhead strike, putting as much force behind it as he could. Serseth stepped to the side, letting the pike slide in her hands towards the blade. Part of her whispered to her to do it, to take his life. To get revenge for those he had hurt. It was so tempting, it would have been so easy. However she didn't.
