No one could of doubted the wealth of Count Demici. Firstly the man was standing in his personal apartment within 500 Republica. And no one got one of those unless they had seriously deep pocket books. Secondly he wore only the finest clothes and followed the latest fashion, though the latest fashion on Serenno. He ate the most expensive food and furnished his homes with the most expensive art. It was to add to his esteemed collection that Lorenzo Demici, Senator for the Serenno System, had invited one Danica Livianna. The Senator had heard about her through a number of his associates and he was dying to deal with her.
Lorenzo wasn't a patient man by nature. He could, when needed, wait months or even years for a plan to come together, but it would bug the hell out of him the entire time. The CEO of Liv and Co wasn't late but Lorenzo had a strange feeling she would be; though he hoped he would be disappointed in that regard. The Count was leaning against the window pane of his spacious apartment as he tapped the glass with his right hand. A high metal sound rang through the room as the two rings he wore hit against the barrier. He was doing it absentmindedly due to his increasing boredom.
He watched as the speeders passed by and tried to make out the people below, but he was simply too high up, and could only make out vague moving shapes and colours. From his room he could see the Jedi Temple and he wondered what the Jedi Knights were doing at that moment. But then he was interrupted as the doors opened with a swish. Straightening his green robe he turned around. He was expecting his newest business acquaintance as his Secretary, a young twenty something from his home world, had been instructed to send her straight in when she arrived. But he Lorenzo was disappointed when he saw his tall brother.
''Well brother, you've never looked so upset to see me, I assume the high flying CEO woman hasn't arrived yet?'' His brother scoffed. He had always had rather archaic views on the position of woman in society. In his eyes woman should be home running the estate, or in the case of poorer families, looking after the children.
''No, Antonio she hasn't. And I'd be grateful if you kept your chauvinistic views to yourself when your on Courscant. Your my official advisor now, what you say reflects back on me. You're just handing my enemies more ammunition.'' Lorenzo replied as he walked over to the small drinks cabinet in his room. The contents were rare and expensive, as was everything in the room, and Lorenzo quickly poured two glasses.
Antonio raised his and said, ''To your new decor,'' and then took a sip.
''Do you like it? I do, though I think it'll take some getting used to.'' Lorenzo had recently redecorated his apartments. Before the room had been more ostentatious, with gaudy gold and red, but he had gone for a more subtle approach. He had taken a liking to stone and his bookshelf, desks and other furniture had been carved from a deep black stone that seemed to glow. Running through the stone were emeralds. Afterall he had to show some sign of wealth.
The floor was covered with a deep green carpet to match the emeralds that he had imported from the other side of the galaxy. On the far end of the apartment stood a proud statue. A woman, a Goddess actually, was standing naked with two snakes at her ankles. Her long hair resting gently, and covering, her breasts. The walls, as always, were covered with priceless pieces of artwork. Ancient paintings worth almost as much as the entire apartment.
''It's ok, though I think I'd prefer it it that statue wasn't so covered.''
The two brothers moved to a set of chairs. For comforts sake Lorenzo had decided not to have them made out of the rare stone like the rest of his furniture but they were still a deep green. Lorenzo let out a sigh as he fell into the extremely comfortable chair. It was late now, and he had been standing most of the day. The two brothers began to discuss the recent bill that had mirred in the Senate as they waited for Ms. Livianna to arrive.
