The lightsaber felt awkward in her left hand. She rarely if ever used it in her left, relying on her dominant hand instead. She took a deep breath before igniting the lightsaber and going through the first few movements of Makashi. They felt slow and dumb compared to how she normally was. For what would likely not be the last time, she cursed that damn Dark Jedi who broke her right arm.
The lightsaber pike felt clumsy being used only one handed. Normally where she would have both right and left on it she could only hold it with her left. She couldn't keep up with the speed Makashi required, nor the control. A youngling could probably see the mistakes in her form.
She nearly cut herself before she stopped and went back to the starting stance. Starting again she took it even more slowly. At this point she doubted she could stand up to a Padawan and hold her ground. She could vaguely sense in the force someone nearby. Perhaps headed here, she didn't particularly care at the moment who it was at the moment.

The young Mon Calamari in dark grey tunic walked to another of the training rooms and peeked in. It was empty, the only thing inside was a brown mattress on the ground, so he went to check more rooms.
Deenar was looking for someone to train with. He was going to turn 13 in just two weeks and he still didn’t have a Master, so he wanted to learn as much as he could before being sent to the corps or leaving the temple. Although he had serious doubts he will find any use for a lightsaber training in the future, maybe he would scare some thugs who might try to rob him or worse. But no matter what would happen to him, he would never join the dark Jedi if some of them would try to recruit him, even if they offer him training and knowledge.
He quickly opened another door and saw a light brown furry Selonian in a large shirt, cargo pants and leather sheathe on the back. Deenar thought it was a female, as most Selonians were females. She was holding a large pike with a silver energy beam extending from its end in her left hand. Lightsaber pikes were quite rare, so Deenar assumed the Selonian was at least a knight, if not a master.
She probably didn’t notice him, so Deenar watched her movements, unable to recognise her form of lightsaber combat. The movements were kind of clumsy, slow, and the female nearly cut herself at one point before she stopped. Then, she started practicing her moves again, more slowly. Now, Deenar recognised the style as Makashi.
The Selonian was probably just warming up, so the Mon Cal youngling decided it would be a great idea to practice a little bit together. „ Excuse me, would you mind if I spar with you for a while, fellow Jedi?“, Deenar said as he walked up to her and stared at her with his big blue eyes. Not knowing if she was a knight or a master, he chose a neutral way to adress her, just to be sure.

Serseth turned to face the youngling that spoke. She was amused at the sight of a Mon Calamari in a black tunic looking at her. Not only that he had asked to spar with her? She almost told him that she was a bit to skilled and that he should go find another person when she remembered which hand she was using. It wouldn't be to dangerous and an actual opponent was better than no opponent.
"Alright. Just try not go get hurt."
She wasn't exactly the best around children. Likely why she never would purposely try to train younglings, or why she took a Padawan. Add to that the fact she was rarely if ever at the temple and you would could spend nearly a decade without taking a Padawan.
Assuming the youngling had his training saber Serseth moved into her normal stance, sans her right hand being dominant. She made a mental note to avoid actually hitting the young Mon Calamari, it was only a sparring session not a full on battle. She waited for him to take position before pressing the attack.

´Does she think I am made of glass?´ Deenar thought when she told him not to get hurt. Nevertheless, he was happy she allowed him to train with her, so he made a few steps backwards, just to put some space between them. The Mon Cal tried to remember what he had learned about Makashi. Not much, except it was a second lightsaber form, ineffective against blaster fire and multiple opponents, but very effective in lightsaber duels. Considering how was the Selonian handling her lightsaber pike earlier, the boy felt pretty confident about this fight, even though he knew she was much more experienced, and probably a master of Shii-Cho.
Now, he stood opposite of her, only a few meters away. Deenar politely bowed to his opponent and reached for his training blade. „I am Deenar Ica, a youngling, soon to be a washout.“ he introduced himself, saying the last word kind of wryly.
The Mon Cal activated his lightsaber, making a blue energy beam rise from the hilt and placed his left foot back, while holding his lightsaber vertically in both of his hands in front of him. Form I opening stance, easily recognisable by any trained Force user. He wondered why the Selonian was swinging her weapon like a drunken Gamorrean. Not even Jedi Consulars had such a sloppy moves. Then it struck him.
She wasn’t using her dominant arm. Her right arm was probably broken or something, as Makashi users usually trained only with their dominant arms. The boy narrowed his large eyes and used the Force to enhance his speed, strength, reflexes. His confidence vanished, but he was ready for her, waiting for her first move.
(OOC: I’m leaving to cottage, I’ll be back on Monday)
