Terrain Overview:
The urban ecumenopolis cityscape of Tal'Adar
Formerly lust forests and plains which covered over 80% of the planet's surface, Tal'Adar is now an urban jungle, heavily polluted and with scarce oceans. Sprawling skyscrapers reach kilotmeters into the skies, and urbanization dominates virtually all land masses, and expands over some portions of the oceans.
Notable Geographic Features: One of Tal'Adar's most distinguishing features is its oceans, which are not commonly found on ecumenopolis worlds. Instead of draining their waters for land space, the Tal'Adari construct facilities and factories over or around their oceans, making the surface of Tal'Adar something beautiful among most city worlds. Indeed, the longest river on Tal'Adar, the River of Khass'ahar - which spans an entire circle across the proximity of the entire planet, even runs through the majority of Tal'Adar's capital district, Ruia.

Capital District:
Tal'Adar's capital district, Ruia
The largest district on Tal'Adar, Ruia is the central hub of interplanetary and extraplanetary traffic, and is the location of Tal'Adar's most powerful megacorporations and military faculties, save for the planets premier industrial facilities. Located on the Northeastern part of the planet, Ruia was an architectural masterpiece, rid of the levels of pollution found on most parts of the planet's surface due to atmospheric filtration and cycling plants located in throughout the district.
The district of Ruia is layered, with new corporations and businesses being build upon and over the old. Hence, the further one would travel into the depths of Ruia's surface - or truly any of Tal'Adar's surface - the older the city becomes, with the lowest part of Ruia's sectors being nicknamed the "Catacombs". The district, being Tal'Adar's most important city, was more heavily patrolled and supervised by the planet's disciplinary forces than any other district on the planet.
Major districts:
Tal'Adar's largest and most prominent industrial district, Vaxat
The prime center for the manufacturing and industrial facilities on Tal'Adar, Vaxat is widely considered to be the second most prominent district on the planet of Tal'Adar. Heavily polluted, strictly regulated patrolling, and numerous shipping ports located in throughout, Vaxat not only houses Tal'Adar's industrial faculties, but also houses the planets raw resources and storage facilities for Tal'Adar's ever-growing infrastructure development.
The manufacturing and industrial centers located in the Vaxat district are almost exclusively devoted toward military production, especially since the Republic's ongoing war with the Sith Empire and Mandalorians, which include the Tal'Adar Orbital Staryards. Alongside other worlds that major in producing arms and war machines, such as Kuat, Tal'Adar stands as one of the Republic's most prominent worlds for military production, both planetary and stellar-based. Indeed, transit between Vaxat and Tal'Adar's capital district, Ruia, which also houses Tal'Adar's military academies and soldier barracks, is one of the oldest established tram-transit modules built on the planet's surface.
Tal'Adar's oldest district and primary center of military research, Jyn-Ar
A coveted district banned from off-worlders, and even many naturalized Tal'Adari, Jyn-Ar is the oldest district on Tal'Adar, the origin settlement of the city world. Although it has long lost its prominent standing to the splendor of Ruia, and lost the production importance to the industrial prowess of the Vaxat district, Jyn-Ar has since regardless remained something of a pearl of the Tal'Adar. With the greatest intellectual minds and natural geniuses often being sent there, the Jyn-Ar district is a spectrum of think tanks and cabals, holding countless research facilities, programs, and experiments, often in military science and development and medical cybernetics.
Hence, although all true Tal'Adari are free to travel through the district, very few are permitted to live or remain within the district for extended periods of time. Next to Ruia, Jyn-Ar is the most heavily guarded district on Tal'Adar, as many of the research projects, the majority of which are channeled to the Republic in whole, are strictly protected against the eyes and ears of any adversaries, despite Tal'Adar being located within the Core Worlds region. For security purposes, no transmissions are permitted to enter or leave out from the boundaries of the district, which are enforced via signal jammers being placed strategically in the district.
Demonym:
The Tal'Adari
An almost entirely Human-immigrated species from Ator, the Tal'Adari are a proud people whose society is steeped deeply in military tradition, as evidenced by their pursuits. As a people, its members had to fight a long and bloody civil war called the Aeon of Carnage to gain their independence, and for a time even had to surrender to their hated enemies, the Atorians. It was at this time that the corporations established themselves as the driving force behind creating and maintaining the new Tal'Adar State, the governmental power that, ironically, bears strong resemblance to their Atorian cousins. Even if the Tal'Adari do not actively engage in war, sometimes for as long as many decades, they still strive to be at the cutting edge of military technology and put emphasis on forging their vessels, weapons and fighting methods to be inferior to none.
To curb their aggressive tendencies, the Tal'Adari actively pursue and sponsor a range of sporting activities and casinos. Many of these are gladiatorial-like competitions with restrainers, while others are more like swoop races and the like. But whatever the sport, visitors coming to Tal'Adar love betting on the outcome, making gambling a massive industry among the Tal'Adari. The Tal'Adari are governed by a state built on corporate capitalism. Hence, Tal'Adar is run by a few mega-corporations which divide the districts of the planet between them, controlling and ruling virtually every aspect of society. Each corporation, in turn, is made up of thousands of smaller companies, ranging from industrial companies to law firms, to military research, to casino and hotel lodging. All land and real estate on Tal'Adar is owned by a mega-corporation, parent of a company of lesser power, which leases it to the citizens, and government and policing are also handled by independent companies.
Although this gives the corporations dictatorial powers, they are just as bound by Tal'Adar's customs and laws as the individual, and the fierce, continual competition between the corporations ensures a healthy, consumer-based social environment, which they believe benefits everyone. At the top of the mega-corporations is the Tal'Adar Supreme Council, composed entirely of the CEOs and presidents of only the most powerful mega-corporations. Above even them, stands the Executor of Tal'Adar, the presiding head of state and leader of the Tal'Adar Administration Council, who wields supreme, almost monarch-esque absolute power, and effectively controls all mega-corporations via controlling its leaders. While the Tal'Adar are not as prominent as Ator, let alone Kuat and the other leading military production worlds, they are still galactically respected and admired. Their economy is strong and a backbone of the Core Worlds, and through that, the Galactic Republic itself, and their military might parallel to that of more prominent and established worlds.
This has also led Tal'Adar into being one of the Republic's foremost worlds for recruitment and training at military academies. However, the Tal'Adar's intensive society, coupled to the fact that they possess unscrupulous tendencies and are largely combative, this has, in the past, made them - in many ways - one of the Republic's most beneficial and yet meddlesome Core Worlds. As most Tal'Adari trade is conducted by individual companies rather than the government itself, this makes it difficult for other planets to deal with them at a political level, and even cause confusions with their representation within the Senate. However, the Tal'Adari are very strict when it comes to disciplinary action. If a company on Tal'Adar is found guilty of practicing unethical business dealings, it is promptly dissolved and then simply disappears into its larger parent corporation. Because of the ever changing business structure of Tal'Adar's smaller and less powerful corporations, it is not long before another company appears to take the place of its predecessor. However, if a Tal'Adari company is threatened by another company or by an off-world threat, the whole corporation - parent companies and mega-corporations included, and often even the whole government backs it up with full force, making the unity of the Tal'Adari culture extremely embedded into their society.
As something of a Janus-faced irony, the Tal'Adari offer its citizens both the best and the worst in living conditions available in the Core Worlds. Considering that, due to the Tal'Adari's society structures, slums and ghettos are virtually non-existent, so long as one keeps themselves in line, does their job, upholds the laws and so forth, life can be pleasant and productive, as many off-worlders are attracted to the best of what Tal'Adar has to offer. However, for those beings that are not determined or fit for such a strict, disciplined regime, life quickly becomes intolerable, as they lose their respect, family, status, property, and everything of worth. To many, the only options left to them are exile or imprisonment. Although not xenophobic (indeed, many natural Tal'Adar are aliens), the Caldari are highly protective of their way of life and only tolerate those off-worlders that follow their laws to the letter.
Tal'Adari Culture
Among the Tal'Adari, duty and honor go hand in hand within the social structure, and duty is bound to position. As such, this duty is a two-way street. While the Tal'Adari have a duty to their corporation, the corporation in turn also has a duty to their employees. The corporations are responsible not only for providing work for their employees; they must also provide housing, food, education, etc. for them and their families. By default the children of employees become corporation members and usually grow up to work for that corporation, though not necessarily doing the same job as their parents. Only if it is very obvious that the child's interests or skills lie outside the corporation's sphere do they leave - the vast majority of Tal'Adari pursue their career within their 'foster' corporation, living in its houses, going to its schools, etc., generation after generation. This causes corporations to be "family businesses" of sorts, as many businesses have been tied to particular families for centuries.
With an extraordinary small exception, each corporation on Tal'Adar is a subsidiary of a larger one, which is eventually a subsidiary of the parent corporations. As such, every subsidiary contains assets that belong to some parent corporation, somewhere on Tal'Adar's surface - everything is connected in some form or way, much like the connections in the brain. Henceforth, it is in the best interests of each of the parent corporations to assign personnel to work with the subsidiary to ensure the proper protection of the parent corporation's assets. This is in the form of the Subsidiary Affairs and Enforcement Office, an office founded since the dawn of Tal'Adar's industrial age. The Subsidiary Affairs and Enforcement Officer, or SAEO, is assigned by the parent corporation to every subsidiary. While not directly on the chain of command in the subsidiary, due to them being owned by the "parent", the SAEO reports not to the President of the subsidiary but to the SAEO Administration officer of the parent corporation.
This provides the parent with a modicum of protection for their interests and assets. The SAEO acts in an advisory capacity, with no direct authority. However, they can, through their communications with the parent corporation, bring into question the judgment skills and management capabilities of the subsidiary executives, so the advice of the SAEO is typically allocated significant weight. This also ensured that, in Tal'Adar's constantly changing and cutthroat world of business rivalry and competition, the most efficient and qualified executives of the subsidiary companies are in authority, lest they be replaced.
Of the militaristic aspect of the Tal'Adari culture, the armed forces of Tal'Adar are collectively called the Tal'Adari Defense Crops. The largest by far is the Tal'Adari Navy, which is a standing fleet of ships assigned to patrol Tal'Adar's planetary and space borders and protect Tal'Adar's stellar companies and shipyards. The Tal'Adari Marines are, true to their names, the most varied infantry of Tal'Adar's security, although are the least numerous. Operating both in space, on the planet's surface, and on its moon, the Tal'Adari Marines and found most concentrated upon Celda, as Tal'Adar's planetary forces are limited to Tal'Adar itself. However, the manines can also be found within Tal'Adar's star cruisers and orbital stations, including the Tal'Adar Orbital Staryards.
On their own, the Tal'Adari Defense Corps are divided by sectors of Tal'Adar, and possess little-to-no authority outside their sector. The TDC is entirely supported by a mandatory assignment of ships, manpower, and resources provided by each of the megacorporations. Each megacorporation and its subsidiaries have their own military or paramilitary forces to support their own efforts and fiercely guard their police privileges. Each of these military groups reports, in turn, up the ladder to their parent corporation such that, in times of need, the megacorporation can call upon its security forces and those forces will include all of the military from every corporation it supports. Given this, every megacorporation's security forces, and those of their subsidiaries, are similar in structure, appearance, and behaviors.
Since most of the megacorporations come from the same background, most of the security forces between the megacorporations are also relatively similar in purpose. These fundamental uniform structures are very strictly adhered to as a fundamental part of the way the Tal'Adari military functions. The difference between the various security groups - such as the Tal'Adari Marines, the Tal'Adari Navy, the Tal'Adar Planetary Security Forces, the Tal'Adar Armed Forces, etc. - creates a sense of identity, and these groups compete regularly to prove their might and effectiveness. There are eight great Corporations that together own more than 90% of all property upon Tal'Adar. Each of the corporations are made up of thousands of companies of various sizes and various sorts, ranging from simple commercial corporations to powerful police companies. Hence, there is no single, unified government. As such, each corporation rules it's territories like their own kingdom with little or nor interference from the other corporations.
However, there does exist a ruling body, who often act in the interest of higher matters, such as in foreign policy towards the other planets or the Republic. The Tal'Adar Administration Council consists of the CEOs of the eight major corporations, has the highest authority. At the top of the board is the Executor of Tal'Adar, who possesses monarch-like authority. The Tal'Adar Administration Council also makes sure that the social infrastructure of the State remains intact and settles all major quarrels between the corporations.
Major Points of Interest:
Acolyun Praxeum of Military Artifex
Although Tal'Adar is known for its many military academies and institutes, ranging from starfighter piloting and officer courses, to infantry force training and specialized medical troops, only one has reached galactic-wide fame; the pyramidal Acolyun Praxeum of Military Artifex, often recalled as the Tal'Adari War Academy. Standing above the rest, the Acolyun Praxeum of Military Artifex widely considered to be the most advanced and prestigious military academy for training special forces and operation brigades in all of Republic Space. Indeed, many of the Republic's most elite troops are sent to Tal'Adar to enlist and train through various courses in order to produce soldiers of the finest caliber there to fight on the front lines, or behind them.
Founded some 600 years after the Atorian exiles from the Aeon of Carnage landed on Tal'Adar, by the long-lived war hero Iabysus Acolyun. A Human male nearly 120 years old, the Acolyun Praxeum of Military Artifex, then known as the Tal'Adar War Academy, was the first institute for military training on Tal'Adar, and to the current day, remains the most advanced and esteemed. Soldiers heralding from the Acolyun Praxeum of Military Artifex are considered to be the most excellently trained special forces in the entire military force of the Galactic Republic. Combining the pinnacle of the Republic's technology with the most efficient training, the Acolyun Praxeum of Military Artifex trains the Republic's elite commando and special forces.

Tal'Adar Orbital Staryards
The fourth largest military shipyard in the galaxy, dwarfed by Kuat Drive Yards, Corellian Engineering Corps, and Fondor Shipyards, Tal'Adar Orbital Staryards is a series of colossal stellar stations orbiting Tal'Adar, each with five gargantuan sized docks and "arms", which were all manufacturing plants. A series of forty-six of these massive shipyards surrounded Tal'Adar itself, and together made up the TOS, or Tal'Adar Orbital Staryards. As a major starship manufacturing plant, Tal'Adar Orbital Staryards constructed most classifications of space-worthy ships, from the smallest of freighters to the largest of dreadnoughts. Unlike Corellian Engineering Corps, and like Kuat Drive Yards, Tal'Adar Orbital Staryards relies almost exclusively on military contracts, and produced many warships, such as the Pantheon-Class Battleship.
