Planet Name: L'yeu'quiu Planet Type: Grass/Meadow-covered with a polar region at the South Pole and a desert region near the eastern equator. Habitable: L'yeu'quiu is habitable by sentients and non-sentients despite it's low gravity of 0.87 standard. System: The Inner Rim | Eshan System
Terrain Overview:
The terrain of L'yeu'quiu is that of rolling hills and meadows, though mostly grassland and flat ground. This terrain has been known to be favourable to many sentients, the light gravity proving to be relaxing and the breezes that pass through untested and unchallenged due to the lack of mountains. Although it does have large bodies of water, most are stored in large catacombs beneath the earth, where the tectonic plates of the planet have split or magma that had once resided there had seeped and hardened into the protective layer of stone that wraps around the planet core.
Notable Geographic Features:
It has three main Oceans, The Ulik Ocean, L'yeu's Tears and the aptly named Sinkhole Waters. The Ulik Ocean is located near the North Pole and is roughly 60 miles wide at it's largest point and has a maximum depth of 57 miles. Some believe it to be an ancient valley that filled with water over thousands of years, water that did not evaporate due to the already dense air. L'yeu's Tears is an ocean named by the clan that eventually took over the planet, becoming it's monarchs during times of old, named after the son of their leader after his tragic death during the Assault on Phira Plain in the Great War of Unification. Legends say that L'yeu's Tomb is located in the dead center of this ocean, but none have found it due to the ocean's treacherous waves. Located very close to the planet's Capital, Aegis, it is the largest and most beautiful ocean on the planet during the warmer months, the main source of all sea-life on the planet. Sinkhole Waters is an ocean largely unexplored due to, as the name suggests, the large amount of sinkholes in the earth below it, forcing the water into the catacombs below. It lies near the Eastern Equator and is the sole reason that the Lia Desert exists, sucking all of the moisture from the once lush lands due to the intense power the swirling water has.
The Lia Desert is located on the Eastern Equator, on the opposite end of the planet to Aegis. It was once a very lush environment with large amounts of unique plant-life and animals, yet the pressures of the Sinkhole Waters caused the moisture to be taken from it. Once the site of the old Capital City, K'in, The Lia Desert holds a lot of memories for the natives and also a lot of legends for the youngin's. The South Pole, being the furthest from the sun, has a dense polar region stretching almost 100 miles across and covered in high mountains of solid ice, some of the only mountains on the planet. Both of these locations are largely uninhabited apart from a small mining colony on the outskirts of The Lia Desert named L'in'a.
Capital City:
Aegis, the city of dreams as they call it. Built in ancient times, first as a central palace for the Royal Family, it eventually grew into a city of beautiful architecture and expensive luxuries, one being the houses of the people made of obsidian glass, which was and still is a very rich natural resource in the catacombs of L'yeu'quiu. The city itself is protected by a huge wall of beautifully carved Boa-wood with vine and leaf-type designs made with Gold. This may lead you to think that the wall is weak because it is made of wood, but it is not. After the end of the Sacking of Aegis and the changing of the Royal Clan, a huge shipment of Alusteel was bought and workers slaved tirelessly to shape the Alusteel just right to slot it into a hollows in the wooden walls, creating an unseen defensive property to the walls. The palace is created in a huge spiral staircase reaching about a mile and a half tall and 6,873 steps. At the top of these steps there is large circular platform of obsidian glass which is about three quarters of a mile in diameter, the foundation of the palace, military barracks and also main starport.
