Rak: The undisputed deadliest predator in Murien. The Rak looks like a mix between a hairless dog and a humanoid standing taller than a pony, they are extremely fast and strong and can easily rip a person in half with one swing from their massive claws. They hunt everything they can find from small gizkas to gundarks, and are usually seen on their own or in pairs. The Raks mate for life and rarely leave their partners. They are nocturnal predators link

History:
Twenty years before the start of the mandalorian wars, Murien was used as a small military outpost and mining planet. Ten years before the mandalorian wars, Murien saw a increase in settlers and small trades which prompted the republic to start making urban development. Murien started to grow from a back watered planet into a small active mining colony.
Once the mandalorian wars started Murien urban budget was cut and the world began to decline and over the course of one hundred years the world grew more and more poor. Until eventually it became den for thief's and pirates with the odd farmer who refused to move on.
For years Murien declined until it was completely abandoned save for the occasional smuggler or pirate trying to lay low. Two hundred years ago a frigate crash landed on the planet, the ship carried a large number of animals. With the only ones thriving on Murien being Gundarks and the banthas aside from the Gizka who survive the crash.
During the year 3759 BBY the corporate alliance attempted to colonize the planet and built a weather station and south gate which was used as a small obscure administrative center but after twenty years the alliance pull out of the planet not willing to loose more funds on the planet.
In 3606 BBY North gate became the haven for a group of refugees who made the crash frigate their home. In 3604 BBY a large band of mercenaries known as Hlaalu guild took over the world and using north gate as their main base of operation have began to slowly bring life to Murien and are attracting a growing number of settlers and refugees who have start to work for the Guild owing much of the current progress of the world to them.
