Name: Baron Sidonis Argonar
Race: Umbaran- Rootai Class
Age: 46
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 170 lbs
Appearance:
Baron Sidonis lives up to his title in every way. He is always clean, almost never a speck of dirt can be seen on him. Sid keeps his head clean shaven- usually done by his servants. He keeps a fine combed goatee, and both his beard and eyebrows are raven colored- if he grew his hair out again, it would be too. His skin is an ashen white color, like all Umbaran, and he has but one scar. On his left side below his ribcage he has a webbed scar from where a bolt of Force Lightning struck him. Sidonis is handsome for his age- and for his species, he has the typical gaunt facial features of the Umbaran people, as well as the sunken in eyes that have only been made greater from prolonged use of the Dark Side. His eyes are a very dark blue in color, and usually have a calm, steady look to them- as Sidonis is hard to upset.
Clothing wise, the Baron is only ever in the finest materials money could buy. Custom tailored shirts, pants, jackets, coats, you name it, Sid has in spades- and isn’t afraid to flaunt that. His normal attire is a white tunic-style shirt, black silk or leather formal pants, a midnight-blue overcoat with the collar up, and high end black leather boots or shoes. It isn’t uncommon for Sidonis to wear black leather gloves as well, but he tends to only put them on for combat. Due to his species preference for darker lighting, in anything he finds remotely uncomfortable, he wears a pair of high end, mirror finished rimless glasses that reflect whatever the Baron is facing right back(LINK).
His lightsaber is usually kept in a pocket on the inside of his overcoat, right in arm’s reach. If not there, he has a specially made harness that holds the weapon in the small of his back, where it can be easily reached and concealed.
To keep his identity as a politician a secret when in combat, Sidonis wears an advanced combat suit specially made and tailored for his body. A mask adorns his visage and has a built in voice scrambler to further keep his identity a secret. (link to custom armor to be added)
A common site around the Baron is various servants dressed almost as sharply as he is. If one were to ask them a question, they would be ignored- these servants have become nothing but thralls to Sidonis’ will. However, he did not need to force them into service- as that is what his class is expected to have.

Umbara has always been a dark world, with its twilight sun and moody cities. One could say the city of Ielum got a little bit darker one cool evening when Sidonis Argonar was born to Baron Sian Argonar and Baroness Chariy Argonar. Both Sian and Chariy were of the Rootai Class- considered Umbaran royalty. Sidonis was the second son, his older brother of two years, named Zayd, adored his baby brother. Like most high end planets, Sidonis was tested for his Midichlorian count- which was quite high- Jedi levels. Naturally, the Jedi would show up weeks later to request that Sidonis go with them when he was old enough, but the Baron- like many Umbaran- was wary of outsiders, and refused their offer to take their son.
Instead, Sian relied on an old friend, an advisor, and most importantly, Sidonis and Zayd’s godfather. Rael was only a few years older than Sian and Chariy, but had been a good friend of the couple for many years. Sian knew Rael was also sensitive to the Force, and requested that Rael help Sidonis keep it in check. Little did Sian know, but Rael was more than simply Force-sensitive, he was a highly trained, highly skilled, and highly deadly former Jedi. Rael had been kicked out of the order for pursuing a relationship with a fellow Jedi, after years of dedicated service to them. After his time with the Jedi, he began to study darker arts under a human Dark Jedi. Years of training and corruption later, Rael returned to Umbara, and used his skills to become a highly respected member of the Umbaran Council.
Rael had been waiting years for this opportunity- having had a vision of an older Sidonis years ago- the man who would become his apprentice, his legacy, his surrogate son. He hid his eagerness in accepting the honor of training Sidonis, and would be present in the child’s early years of life. Whenever Rael was around Sid, he would pour his presence in the Force into the child, doing his best to create a strong bond between the two. The Force was with Rael as he did this, as the older Sidonis got, the more he seemed to favor Rael’s attention over his own family- a good sign.
As a child, Sidonis was taught the proper etiquette of Umbaran and Galactic society. He was a polite child, quite charismatic even for a youth. Like most Rootai, only the best tutors on Umbara were chosen to teach both Sidnois and Zayd. At age five Sidonis would join Zayd in his sessions with the tutors, and the child proved to be quite intelligent, picking up on things quickly. Sidonis was a good, proper child, taught to be seen and not heard like many Rootai children.
Time went on, and Sidonis grew into a fine young example of the Rootai. Slightly taller than most of his age, he made friends of all ages easily, and was calm, content with reading or solving puzzles over playing pretend and games. He never sought to watch anything on the holovids, and spent lots of time in his father’s study. Zayd would try to play with Sid, but the younger brother always found him a pest. Why would he want to play Pirates and Troopers when there was a perfectly good file to read? Rael only ever encouraged this behavior behind the backs of Sidonis’ family.
During the times that Sidonis wasn’t being tutored, he would often spend time with Rael- the man would tell the child great stories of the Force users of old. Powerful men that the galaxy would fall to one knee for at their mere wish, men who could move entire mountains with just their mind- and that one day, Sid could be one of these men. Only if he followed everything Rael taught him, without question or doubt. Along with those stories, Rael taught Sidonis how to meditate, and feel the Force around him. To his pleasure, Sidonis was able to get in touch with the Force well, it was clear his Midichlorian count was far from a lie. As far as the Baron and Baroness knew, this training only stayed at the meditation level to control it. But that was far from the truth.
Sian and Chariya were often busy with political meetings and parties, which meant that Sidonis and Zayd were left under the watchful eye of Rael and the mansion’s servants. After years of being ignored by Sid, Zayd was content entertaining himself alone, away from Sidonis. This worked in the favor of Rael, who began to take the boy away from the mansion for some real training. He gave Sid two things- a training lightsaber Rael had built, and the promise that the boy would grow into a powerful man- but that it would hurt, and that he at times would not like it. “Such is the price of power- my son.” Rael would say.
For a time, Rael taught Sidonis the basics of the Shii-Cho saber form, and it became apparent that though the child was competent with a lightsaber, his strength lay in the Force itself. However, Rael knew any Dark Jedi worth his salt could handle a lightsaber, so he continued the training with the saber- but focused more so on the Force. It wasn’t long before Sidonis was able to move objects with the Force, barely read the minds of the various servants that mulled about the mansion, or use it to boost his physical prowess if even by a hair. Rael was pleased by the boys progress, by ten he was at the levels of most younglings in the Jedi Temple- it appeared that Rael’s time in the Jedi proved useful. He knew it wouldn’t be long before he began to teach Sid the true nature of the Force.

The shiny boots that were clad to the feet of a robed man clacked on the highly polished white marble floors of a long hallway. His eyes darted around nervously, the Umbaran people were notoriously wary of others, and he could only imagine what one who hated others could be like. This was Knight Kag Fel’s first mission so far from the Core- but the Council felt his calm demeanor, and eloquent voice would do well in this year’s negotiations with the Umbaran Council. And who was he to argue? He was only twenty-four, and the Jedi Council knew what they were talking about. After a couple moments and a few turns, Kag had arrived at the ivory doors to his destination. His eyes peered up at the intricate details of the door frame, and he sighed. Kag could never get these ritzy types. He knocked on the door, and waited for an answer.
Sitting at a small glass table on the balcony outside his study, was Baron Sidonis Argonar. The ornate white chair he sat on was cool to the touch, the night air chilled the metal of it well. The only light was coming from a large glass chandelier, but instead of the typical white or yellow that came from a piece such as this, cool blue irradiated off of it. Sidonis sat leaned back in the chair, a round, bubble like glass of the most expensive brandy money could buy in one hand, a datapad with the days news in another. He brought the brandy glass to his lips and took a sip of the smooth liquid and swallowed just as the knock came from the door.
His oceanic eyes slid to glance at the butler who was already on the move. A slight grin tugged at the left corner of his lips, good service was always a great thing to have. He could hear the door click open and the butler greet the Jedi. Always sticking their noses where they weren’t wanted. It was a wonder the Umbaran people haven’t banned the righteous pests from their planet yet- and was something he would work tooth and nail to achieve. But for now…
Sidonis got to his feet just as the blond haired human stepped out onto the balcony. The Jedi bowed deeply, in which Sid returned with a curt nod of ‘respect’.
”Welcome, Master Jedi. I do hope the mansion was not too difficult to navigate?”
The Jedi smiled and shook his head. ”Oh-no, thank you though Baron Argonar, and thank you for seeing me. It is an honor to speak with you tonight.”
The Baron returned the smile and gestured for the Jedi to join him at his table, and the butler poured them both a brandy. Sidonis said nothing as the Jedi grimaced at the amber liquid- it wouldn’t matter if he didn’t accept the drink. He keyed his datapad off and shifted to face the Jedi better with his elbows propped up on the table and his fingers interwoven. Sid pulled the Force deeper inside of him, and put up his mental barriers as he felt the Jedi reach towards him in the Force. Bastard… Trying to read me… fool. If it wouldn’t blow his cover, he would have narrowed his cold gaze at the Jedi in contempt.
”So, Master Jedi. I know why you’re here, and you are wasting your breath. My people have prospered without too much Republic interference- and we will not change our ways to allow more out into the Galaxy. Only those deemed worthy by the Rootai can leave, and that is the end.”
Stated Sidonis, his tone left no room for argument. But like all Jedi, this one would try. The Baron mentally grimaced as he felt another probe in the Force towards his mind, followed by a tinge of annoyance at being unable to breach his telepathic barriers. Sidonis glanced a look at the butler, who bowed and turned to leave the room. Once the pair was alone, Sidonis stood up and stepped to the balcony, and leaned on the railing. His family’s estate was placed well away from the main part of the city, on a hilltop that overlooked it. No witnesses- that was good. He turned and leaned back against the railing and leaned his head forward to gaze into the Jedi’s eyes.
I KNOW YOU HEAR THIS JEDI. YOU HAVE MEDDLED ON MY WORLD FOR THE LAST TIME.
The Jedi’s eyes flew open just as Sidonis held his right hand up and a bolt of lightning shot from his fingertips right into the Jedi’s chest. He flipped over the chair he sat in and rolled over the marble floor. Kag groaned and grabbed at his chest in agony, the man’s pain rolled off of him in the Force, and Sidonis grinned as his eyes glinted. He pushed off the railing and stepped away from the balcony towards the Jedi. Both hands raised and another arc of lightning blasted into the Jedi, and Sidonis’ perfectly white teeth shone in a malicious smile.
”Did you really not notice me all this time? Were you so weak minded, that a man such as myself was able to slip past you unnoticed? You deserve this fate…”
Sidonis’ eyes widened and with a vicious push from the Force, his mind slammed against the Jedi’s mental barriers. Kag cried out again and scuttled away from The Baron as far as he could, but another mental ram from the Dark Jedi made the Jedi fall to his back.
SUBMIT JEDI. SUBMIT TO MY WILL. YOU ARE WEAK. YOU WANT TO DIE.
”I-I…”
YES. THAT’S IT. SAY IT. SPEAK THOSE WORDS. I WANT TO DIE…
The Baron laughed with his deep, booming laugh. This man was obviously not taught in the ways of the Force as much as he was- it showed, it oozed off the young man like sap from a tree. Sidonis pushed harder against the Jedi’s mind, and his barriers began to shatter like thin ice. Only a little bit more, and he would be in.
SUBMIT!
Sidonis bellowed over the Force with a massive push with the Force, and like a dam broke, he flooded into the Jedi’s mind. The blond man cried out in agony as blood began to drip from his nose. The Baron chuckled at the sight as he began to circle the Jedi slowly. He looked down at Jedi with contempt as Sidonis prodded deeply into his mind with the Force.
”Ah… so you aren’t as pure as the Jedi think. You’ve had urges towards another Jedi- a pretty young female… I don’t blame you, her body is quite fit… I can see your wishes, for her to look up at you with those green eyes as she services you… It’s a shame you won’t be leaving my humble abode… I would pay to see the Jedi’s reaction to your urges…
He laughed and shot the sensation of extreme pain into the Jedi, who could only gurgle on the flow of blood from his nose. Sidonis knew that his plaything wouldn’t last too much longer- he would be brain dead soon- and he wanted to see him die. The Baron drew the Force into him for one last push and unleashed a torrent of agony, despair, guilt, hate, whatever the man could even think of, he poured it into the cup that was the Jedi’s mind until it burst.
”I want to die…”
With one last gasping breath, the Jedi writhed into the fetal position, and quit moving. Sidonis stepped over the dead body, and crouched down next to his head. His right hand slid the man’s eyelids closed to cover those still terrified eyes, then stood up. He used the Jedi’s robe to wipe a speck of blood off his hands. Sidonis hated flith- which reminded him, he needed to get his servants to remove the Jedi…
