Average Weight: 160 lbs. or greater at young adulthood.

Number of limbs and Type: Human-like.
Runics are an oddity. They are peaceful, and yet warlike in their ways. They base a great many number of things on strength and, however unintentional, look down upon those they deem weaker than themselves. While this happened once and while while they were cut off from the rest of the universe, Runics have found themselves routinely disgusted with how 'power' is seen within a person. To a Runic, power is about your mind and body, not how much money one has or how many people someone can command around. It took years, but Runics were finally able to adapt to the line of thinking of the rest of the world...and by adapt, they usually mean tolerate. Very few Runics actually believe that money is power and the like, and instead keep that belief to themselves.
Runics are, more likely than not, a very accommodating and tolerant people. Can you pull your own weight? Are you lazy? Are you only helping someone so you can ask a favor sometime down the road? It's these general questions that are often asked by Runics now, ever since they got a taste of hoe the rest of the galaxy is run. A runic friend is a loyal friend. It's no different than if the only reason you have a Runic around is for protection; a Runic's word is bond. Stealing, double-talk, sneaking around, slander...these things are foreign concept to a people who don't beat around the bush and usually have no problem coming to blows if it means proving a point or settling a grudge. If you win, great. If not, move on. Revenge and the like have no place in Runic culture.
Marriage can take place between a man and a woman, or two men or two women. Runics don't care about things like gender, only the fact that they happen to love their mate. The ability to produce children became very important several thousand years ago when Runics were fighting for their lives against the wild nature of their planet, as well as invading species. When they finally managed to get a foothold on the planet and begin to settle down without the need to fight for it, Runics quickly realized that their numbers were dwindling, especially in the male population. As such, Runic scientists developed a way for females to impregnate each other, and inoculated any and all females willing to go through the treatment. Any female born under the procedure would not need the inoculation, and to this day about ninety percent of the Runic females have the ability to impregnate other females.
Without a doubt Runics have advanced tech that not many have seen, but this has more to do with the fact that Runics had no interest in space travel until they were met with a stray Jedi years back. Since, they've shared their technology with The Jedi Council freely and willingly, and have gotten much back in return. With the similarities they share with humans, the inoculation they used to save their own population could be given to humans. The various armor and energy based fist weapons that Runics used have also been distributed, as well as the various cures for some diseases not yet handled. While your average Runic likes to heal naturally, even they recognize the need to get back on your feet as quickly as possible and have built upon the various healing tech offered by the Jedi and various other planets. As a general rule, Runics share most everything they have, technology wise, with their allies. Holding back seems pointless to them.
Fighting. Plan and simple, Runics love a good fight. They never turn one down and scoff at those that do. Physically imposing, Runics know there aren't many species out there that can hold their own against them, especially if they're Force Sensitive. While Runics don't usually go looking for fights, those that give into that craving for a nice physical confrontation only do it against enemies they deem equals or a great challenge. They don't bully, and any Runic that does is greatly frowned upon, as abusing your strength is a great a sin as any. Runics also train their bodies in the various martial arts they've developed and the hand-to-hand combat skills they've adopted from various other species. While it's true that Runics have scientists and researchers and the like, even they can fight with the best of them, and train their bodies just as much as a born fighter.
There are several different ways one is raised, and therefore when one is considered an adult; if a child is orphaned at a young age (5 or younger), he or she is taken to Temple Raiza and trained for twenty years. After that point, they can chose what to do with themselves and follow that path. If a child is raised by his or her family, they merely reach the age of twenty five and follow whatever ritual their family has followed. It differs from family to family, but most do involve walking into the world with nothing but a knife and surviving for X amount of days. The process isn't always successful, as there are always unfortunate accidents, but no one is ever rejected if they come home early. Those that do, however, must serve time in the military, as per each families tradition.
The Runic People trickled out of their home planet slowly once that option became available to them, and have since spread out over the galaxy like wildfire. They are highly sought after for being trainers and bodyguards alike. For their part, Runics usually like to keep among their own people but find they share much in common with the more warlike species they encounter and wish to learn more. To this point, they haven't gathered much history with many other species in the galaxy, and while they've spread out all over, their similarity to Human's often get Runic written off as 'just another human' as opposed to being recognized as what they truly are.
