The young Togruta has just finished meditating in his chambers and decided that he was going to take a walk around the Temple. He had several hours free time before he had to go meet a friend. Strolling down the hall with his cloak wafting behind him as the wind picked it up.
Rounding the corner into one of the large gathering places. Resaat smiled with his mouth closed, he learned that his sharp teeth scared some people. Stopping near the center of the room he looked around. There were many people gathered standing talking, youngling with there teachers. There were also Masters with Padawans no older than he was. He was in that transition phase between completing his training at the Temple and getting paired with a Master.
Most of the youngling that were in his class had been chosen or paired with a Master, by the Jedi Council. He wasn't too worried that he wasn't going to get paired. Taa still had several months before his 13th birthday before they shipped him off to the corps.
Resaat decided on a direction to go, it was heading to his second favorite place. Over the years he could be found in one or two places. The first place they would look was the Hall of Archives, the other was watching the ships take off from the landing platforms. He had finally reached his destination and folded his arms crossed his chest and leaned on the rail, watching people come and go.

The booming sound of a very heavy book echoed in the Archives. It came from the hallway of a very little used and smallish room which held bound books. Younglings and padawans grumbled in that it was not the first time they were disturbed from their studies by the noise. A twi'lek librarian with an arm load escorted an orange striped hutt from the room to a lift that went to a larger study hall on the second floor. When the lift opened and the twi left the lift the hutt tried to follow but once again the oversized book held with in the crook of his right arm slipped out and hit the floor with a ear shattering boom.
Sighing again Mal raised his right arm which was missing it's hand. The book floated back to it's place under his arm. Readjusting the armwith the book he made sure the stack of book in his left hand and arm was still sound and not going to fall again. He looked around to see if anyone was watching seeing if they felt disgust at being disturbed or that a knight would need help carrying simple books. Mal noted a togruta male leaning on the railing nodding to the young one he followed the twi to a soundless room big enough for fifteen hutts.
Mal had been trying to search out ways to heal his hand in various ways from the old records of the first Jedi healers. He had noticed that if he was murging his force sig near to the force it's self then his healing strength was increased but the problem was the draw of the force to loose ones self in the moment and be lost to the force. The other problem with that was that other Jedi were starting to not sense him as if he was gone. But he had guessed that being so close to the force that ones would not be able to notice or see. This though disturbed many more than seen is missing hand which also bothered him. So he had to either give up the search of a faster healing method or let the old tried and true way of letting time take it's course be his guide.

Watching the speeders and ships take off and land in the distance. He thought back to his studies of the different ships. By now he could almost name every ship that came to the temple. The private ships were the ones that he couldn't get, since most of the time the pilot was the one to build it. Leaning on the rail he felt someone looking at him. Turning his head he saw a large slug nodding at him, what caught his attention was the Hutts right hand was missing.
After a few more minutes Resaat Taa straightened up and made his way over to one of the tables. Along the way he stopped at one or the shelves and slid a book out. One that he had read numerous times but it never hurt to read it again. Finishing the last little distance to the table, the Togruta sat and opened the book. Flipping to an area that he was most interested about.
Chapter 6: Core Crystals He read in his head, he knew a lot about core crystals from reading the book. The one thing that youngling talk about as they get closer to being paired without a Master, that is there lightsaber. The young Togruta focused on the book he wasn't mindful of his surrounding.

Switching from one older book of medicine to an ancient book of force hot spots he noticed the young togruta had came over and sat down. Setting the book down it flopped open to the togruta's home world. The hot spot, Mal quickly read, often was at it's strongest during the rancor breeding peak season. He sighed at that thought he would not be able to defend himself and draw upon the hot spot. The next thing he also read was that the spot was known to grow crystals. - Lifting his eyes to the togruta he smile at seeing what book absorbed this young one's mind and focus, 'Basics for Saber Construction'. The force was odd thing in the way it moved ones. Here Mal was trying to heal himself yet here was some thing for another one. Using a bit of force power he lifted the massive old book and floated it over to the young togruta. Letting it bump the other's book before setting it down Mal hoped he could draw this one's attention to the artical of his home world's crystals. No specific name was given them in the book but force description was. - They held the feel of and life of Shili and the living creatures on her. Mal thought that searching for such a connection to life and ones. For a jedi, connection was not a needed trait, yet the crystal to Mal would seem to be a rememberance to why one is working so hard in training as long as the removal of self was strictly hels on too. - 'You in search of your final pieces for a saber? Then you might look to your home land.' - Smiling Mal watched the young togruta to see his responce.

Resaat sat reading the book unaware that the Jedi Knight had returned. Still engrossed into the book he flipped the page. Taa was now onto the different colors that the stones could have. About the time he got finished with that page a book bumped his. Looking up he saw the Hutt Jedi standing and watching him. As the Knight spoke the youngling rose and responded.
"No Master, I have yet to be assigned a Master. I will stay mindful of that, thank you."
The Togruta said in a calm voice not letting the more experienced Jedi know he was startled. He was afraid if he let him know he would get a lecture of how he should always be mindful of his surroundings. The young Togruta wanted to say more but he stopped himself. Speaking out of turn was frowned upon, he had watched to many of his clan be scolded for that infraction.
Gathering up the books he walked over and returned the book he was reading to the shelf. As he made his way over to the Hutt, Resaat lost his grip on the heavy book. Before it was able to hit the crowns Taa was able to catch it. Slowly rising wondering what the Knight was going to say.

Sighing Mal could see another headed for the mass ranks. He wished there was enough knights and masters to handle all the younglings, after all they too are jedi. Yet he smiled when the book slid out of his hands too. Chuckling in that deep hutt tone Mal watched the young togruta's expresion. - 'It seem like the book is being contrary with you as well. Little wonder, after all it was taken from a dark jedi master who loved to make trouble for the temple.' - Thinking for a bit Mal wondered what future the young one had hoped for or what the force was guiding towards. - 'When you turn of age what would like to be doing? .... You can speak freely with me.' - He had been watching this ones actions and the nervous chatter being held back. This togruta seemed so full of life and wonder about the verse around him. He even wondered if the council would give concent to him having a new student. The blade work would be lacking but ofcourse his master gave him holo-vid recording of his blade styles. So either way he could teach and force willing be a fair master.

Standing listening to the Hutt Jedi speak, his voice was smooth and not demanding like he read about in the books and records on the computers. He set the book on the table, unconsciously his left hand started to play at his hem. The nervous habit was unnoticeable by himself but it was by all.
"I would like to be paired with a Master. I have no desire to join the corps."
The Togruta youngling said as he player with the hem of his tunic. It wasn't that this was the first time Resaat had talked to a Knight so he didn't know why he was nervous. Was it because this was one that he had never seen before. Though he thought it may break the tension if he introduced himself.
"Sorry for not introducing myself Master. My name is Resaat Taa."
Taa said stopping his nervous habit and bowing slightly as he was taught by his teachers. The orange skinned Togruta wondered if this was going to be his master, he had hoped it was another Togruta. Though he wouldn't go against the Councils orders if he was assigned under the guidance of the Hutt.

(occ=sorry for the shortness low muse but great hardline)
As he quietly figured another worrying about going to the future. Mal had considered taking on a student in the past but his saber skills were lacking. Still if this one was willing Mal would try his best.
it is very nice to meet you. I'm Mal Konti, Jedi of the Healer Order. Don't worry about the corps their not that bad, yet many want to do more and learn more. .... Resaat would you mind if I ask the counsel about taking you on as a student and then we'll go find your crystal. I will do my best in teaching you the way of the Jedi.

Resaat was taken aback at the request that Mal Konti had set forth. It was that he didn't expect to be taken on as a Padawan so soon. He had thought it was closer to his 13th birthday but he was honored.
"It…would be a honor, Master Konti."
The Togruta youngling said as he made his way closer to the Hutt. This was what he wanted then way was he so nervous, he was going to get to train and learn more from a Master.
"Thank you"

Focus. It is your greatest gift and your first skill. Some can draw strength, have visions, enhance their sword play, and move things at great distance and size if their focus is good enough. Many use one direction with their focus. A healer has to split his focus in many ways to achieve one goal. So here is lesson one, for you to move the books on the table and turn their pages with out using your hands, just the force. First off move one book then two together and so on. The harder part is turning the pages with out tearing them out of the books so practice with loose paper first. The same way there till you're able to turn any number of pages with ease. Oh and I'll send for some thing special for you as well.
Mal retrieved his coms and talked to his server droid and called for a item called the 'force puzzle'*. Mal loved that item and would spend hours simply playing with it. Of course on would have to be wary of the item for many have lost themselves with in it's labyrinth like maze.
* Force puzzle- a labyrinth like maze with three distinct force touched balls each made up of a different element. When stationary the puzzle never shifts but when moved the walls would shift accordingly to the direction of the gravity shift. More complex puzzles have been used as traps locking one's mind forever away from the body. The structure and design makes the quick removal of one's mind impossible unless the puzzle is solved or an outside influence is involved.

Resaat listened closely to Mals instructions on his first lesson. He had lifted and moved small objects during class, such as feathers and the like. But he never lifted a book before, this would be tricky to do. Nodding at Konti to acknowledge that he understood the instructions.
Taa turned facing the table, placing the book in the middle. The youngling stood reaching out his hand. Using the force to reachout further to grab the book. Focusing on rising the book, it started to shake. Loosing focus the book settled back down. Taking a deep breath he tried again, this time closing his eye. The young Togruta pictured the book rising from the table. Opening his eyes catching the book only centimeters off the table before slamming on the table.
"I will get this Master. I will" The orange skinned Togruta said with confidence.

Feeling thing through the force takes time. To get a closer connection to the object try touching it, feeling the leather, smell the age of the book. Then think of it as one of the feathers you have used in your training classes. Connecting with the force is only one part you'll come to know, you must now know of the connection of everything else to the force. Look, study, feel and touch most of all get to know whats around you.
At this Mal closed his eyes and reaching out he touched with the force nearly every book on the table. The force rose and flowed through him gain in strength and movement. Each in turn he lifted and moved near him. Looking at each book in turn they opened and pages flipped to certain chapters. Then he laid each before him on the table with an exhausted breath. A deep sigh as he let the force flow away from him.
With every choice to use the force comes with a cost. Energy, focus, mass, life and yes emotion too but.... When emotion is used the cost is greater, for it is a unforgiving force when used wrongly. So that is why balance in all things is needed. Now continue and do or do not for there is no try.

Resaat stood watching Mal lift the books off the table. It was impressive how with such little effort it could be done. But Master Konti had been doing far far longer than he had. The Togruta turned as his master spoke. Taking in everything that he said. It was inspiring what the Hutt Jedi was saying.
"I will do my best, Master."
Taa said as he picked up one of of the books. It wasnt as large as the one he tried to lift moments ago. He thought it might be easier to start with a smaller and lighter book before trying the larger ones.
