Name: Allera Sehmweh
Race: Human
Age: 23
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 120 lbs
Appearance:
Allera has straight, black, shoulder-length hair that she usually keeps up in a ponytail. Her bangs hang down across her forehead, long enough for her to constantly have to tuck them behind her ear. She has an olive skin tone and deep blue eyes. The only bit of makeup she allows herself is eyeliner to enhance her eye color. There is a 4-inch soft pink gash along the left side of her neck, a reminder of her first and near deadly failure during her trial of the flesh. Although she used to be ashamed of it and hid it with her hair, Allera no longer cares if other see it. She uses it as a personal reminder of the fears she had overcome to become a Knight.
Her daily attire consists of the traditional Jedi vestments: khaki pants and undertunic, with an overtunic and a hooded cloak in a dark nutmeg color. Her clothes are more form-fitting than the usual more lose variety. Her boots, which are also nutmeg in color, extend to just below her knees and have a thick, two-inch heel on them. She uses a cloth belt to hold her lightsabers, and always has a pair of dark brown gloves on her person for when she handles ancient artifacts in the archives.
Personality:
When she was first accepted as a Padawan at twelve years of age, Allera thought she would train to become a Jedi Guardian. However she quickly learned that she did not have the right demeanor fulfill that fantasy. She wasn't aggressive enough to successfully execute offensive attacks, always seeming to hold back. She was always too afraid of injury or of doing it wrong. Instead, Allera found herself immersed in the archives of the Temple, or meditating amongst the flora and fauna in the Room of a Thousand Fountains. This lead her down the path to becoming a Consular, and more specifically a healer. She loves to read stories of past excursions and wars from bygone Knights and Masters. She is also often lost in thought, contemplating over the various scenarios of situations presented before her, or waging an internal ethical debate on the actions of those around her.
Though quiet, there are moments when Allera's temper gets the best of her. Such moments include when someone enters a debate with her on ethical issues - especially issues that are hotly debated galaxy-wide, or when her abilities as a Jedi are not enough to overcome whatever situation she is in. Because she reads so much, she considers herself well informed on many issues. However, she quickly learned during her trials that world experience often trumped what she could learn in the archives. That doesn't stop her from trying to pretend she knows better than others, however. It makes her come off as proud and a narrow-minded. She is also a bit cocky in her abilities and stature as a Jedi, having never been tested on her own outside of her trials. She also has never met any non-Jedi who could stand up to anyone of the Order, or who hasn't need the Order's help, which adds to her ego.

A YOUNGLING IN THE JEDI ORDER
Allera was born Allera Sehmweh, the fourth child of a middle class family on Alderaan. Her father owned a fairly successful mining company in Crevasse City, and her mother helped run a childcare center for the miners' children. When she was four, Allera's mother took her and her siblings to Aldera for new furniture, the family having just moved to a bigger apartment in Crevasse City. In the shopping plaza they split up so Allera could look at toys and her other siblings could look at new clothes. While waiting for their family to return to the designated meeting spot, Allera and her oldest brother were approached by a Jedi Master and her Padawan. The Jedi was kneeling, speaking to Allera, when her mother and two other siblings returned. After an introduction and a visit from the Jedi Master the next day, it was quickly decided that Allera be taken to Coruscant to be trained in the ways of the Jedi. She said good bye to her family and moved to the Jedi Temple a short week later, bringing nothing that would tie her back to her family on Alderaan.
BECOMING A PADAWAN
The Jedi Master and her Padawan, a Zabrak male named Draylan Keef, often checked up on Allera as she went through the first few weeks of her training, helping to make sure she felt at home and was progressing well in her classes. After a few years, the Padawan became a Knight and took on his own apprentice, but he never stopped watching over Allera's progress. They developed an almost father-daughter relationship in the years they knew each other. When Allera was nine, Draylan's apprentice died while on an off-world mission. After passing her Initiation Trials, it was Allera's hope that her good friend, her father-figure, would accept her as his Padawan learner, but even after a year of mourning he was not ready to accept another apprentice. It wasn't until two years and a near fatal accident later that Draylan finally accepted Allera as his Padawan.
The event took place on one of the speeder landing pads of the Jedi Temple. Draylan was leaving the Temple on Coruscant to help the training academy on Dantooine. Allera had followed him out, asking him why he would not take her with him, though he would not answer her. After a few words of encouragement he hopped in his speeder and took off for the spaceport. Shortly after take-off, he felt a sense of dread overcome him, and quickly turned the speeder around to see, to his horror, another speeder recklessly heading towards the landing pad where Allera was standing. He silently pleaded with Allera to move out the way, but she was too lost in thought to notice the coming danger. As she turned dejectedly to walk back into the Temple, she finally spotted the runaway speeder and instantly froze from shock and terror. Before she knew it, she was pulled out of the way by Draylan, who looked at her with a disapproving shake. Deciding she needed a master who could watch her carefully with both eyes, and that it was time for him to move on from his last failed attempt at training a Padawan, he finally accepted her as his apprentice.
PASSING THE TRIALS
The years spent as Draylan's Padawan were the most exhausting, invigorating, and challenging years of Allera's young life, but under his tutelage she flourished. In eleven years Draylan trained her in the lightsaber forms he'd mastered, taught her the secrets of healing the body and the mind, and helped her develop enough courage and conviction to fight when it became necessary. The missions they went on increased in difficulty as Allera matured in the Force and self-discipline.
One of Allera's first missions was to settle a dispute between two Younglings in the Temple. The six-year-olds had been blaming each other for taking Nala tree frogs from the Room of a Thousand Fountains and releasing them into the Archive room. (to be continued...)
When she was twenty-two, Allera believed herself ready to face the Jedi Trials. Unsurprising to those who knew her well, she passed all but one of the trials: the trial of the flesh. It took Allera another year to prepare herself mentally and ready herself for the possible sacrificed of the trial of the flesh. The trial was grueling and time-consuming, but Allera finally passed it, losing only one of her lightsabers along the way. Once the trial was over, Allera spent the entire next day meditating in the Room of a Thousand Fountains before being summoned to the Council Chambers. She was finally granted the rank of Knight, a proud moment for her and Draylan, and given her first mission.
KNIGHT OF THE REPUBLIC
Allera's first mission as a Jedi Knight took place on the outskirts of the Ryloth capitol of Kala'uun to help quell an uprising among the native Twi'lek. Before leaving for the mission, Allera took a couple f days to meditate and create a new lightsaber to replace the one she lost during her trials. <RP Sample dives into this first mission>

Glancing out the Archive's windows, Allera noticed the sun beginning to set in the distance. She shut off the datapad she was reading, returned it to its proper place, and headed for the exit. Out in the corridor, she caught Master Draylan pacing in a deliberate fashion, seemingly lost in thought. She slowly approached her old mentor, clearing her throat as she waited for him to acknowledge her. When that didn't work, she cleared her throat again and spoke out loud, taking a step closer as she did so.
"Master Draylan," she said softly, placing a hand lightly on his shoulder. When he looked up, she removed herself to a respectable distance and bowed to him. He returned the bow and gave her a smile, apologizing for losing himself in his musings.
"The Council has requested your presence in the morning," he informed her in his usual laid back voice. "It looks like you're finally getting your first assignment."
"Oh?" Allera quirked an eyebrow, unsuccessfully trying to hold back her excitement as a smile crept onto her face. "What is it?"
"You'll find out tomorrow," Master Draylan replied. "Until then, sleep well." With that, he bowed and walked away, leaving Allera to watch him slowly disappear around the corner as if he had all the time in the world to take those steps. She never could understand how anyone - even a Jedi - could be so laid back.
Shaking her head, Allera smiled at the thought of finally stepping out of the Jedi Temple as a Knight of the Republic. She began thinking of the countless missions that could be waiting for her - escort, healer, ambassador, advisor - letting her feet lead her through the Temple's long and intricate hallways. Eventually she found herself in her chambers and fell asleep to blissful thoughts of advising political figures on the ethics of bounty hunting.
The next morning, Allera woke up earlier than usual so she had enough time to meditate in the Room of a Thousand Fountains before her scheduled meeting with the Council members. As she meditated, she could feel the Force telling her, in its own way, that her mission would take her to a planet much further than she'd ever traveled before. Her excitement grew as she rode the elevator up to the Council chambers, names of various Outer Rim planets she'd heard of flitting through her mind.
It wasn't long before she found herself surrounded by several of the Council members and the Grand Master of the Order. Four of the Masters were present as holograms, while three others were missing from the meeting. She bowed to them all with a respectful kowtow, then waited expectantly for her assignment.
"Knight Allera," one of the Council members addressed her, "as your first assignment, you will travel to Ryloth to help bring peace to the Twi'lek there. Several Twi'lek have started an uproar, claiming it is better for the planet to join with the Sith Empire instead of the Republic."
"This cannot continue," another Jedi Master spoke up. "These rumors must be dealt with swiftly. The citizens there do not know enough of the details about the Sith Empire to make a proper judgment."
"To accomplish this task however," a third Master cut in, "you must be properly equipped. Master Draylan reminded us of the lightsaber you lost and has requested you take two days to meditate and create a new one to replace it. Do so now."
"Do not tarry," the first Master resumed. "Ryloth is a pivotal planet for the Republic. We cannot lose it to the Sith Empire."
"Nor can we let it's citizens make such an ill-informed decision," the second Master added. "Once your lightsaber has been constructed, root out the source of these rumors and uprisings. Deal justice upon them. Be swift, Knight Allera. And may the Force be with you."
"Yes, Masters," Allera bowed, leaving the room when she was excused. Finally, her first mission. She couldn't help but add a bounce to her steps as she made her way to her chambers to pack for the trip. And she was grateful that the Council gave her time to construct a new lightsaber. Had she found herself in a fight, she would be without her second lightsaber and her favored this-looks-deadly-but-I-really-hope-you-don't-attack-me trademark stance. Before heading for the speeder pad, she visited Master Draylan and thanked him for his suggestion to the council.
Be an advisor for the local government, ensure the Twi'lek that the Republic is the right side to be on, and hunt down the naysayers... how hard can it be? She thought to herself as she headed for the spaceport, a thousand scenarios and possible solutions running through her head.
