Race: Togruta
Age: 23
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 220 lbs
I do not own this image, though I did modify it
Appearance: Red Orange skin and black tatoos on the lekku's (head tails), and montrals (horns on the top of the head), dark brown eyes and a lithely muscular phsique.
Personality: He is intelligent in many ways, he likes to sit down and read as well as learning through physical means.
He has a odd sense of humor and usually gets along with others, often times seeking out their company. When in class he's usually quite tranquil and silent. He also believes in using "Common skills" like unarmed combat and blaster weilding in case something should happen to his force powers and lightsaber. He's very friendly, open and very loyal to his friends. He does have a bit of a dark side however, it's very difficult for him to suppress his predatory nature in sparring matches often times being very competitive. He also has a tendency to be a little mischeivous, playing little jokes here and there.
Birth place: Shili, the Togruta homeworld
Faction: Jedi Order
Rank: Knight
Bio:
Tey Shaak: Birth-2 years old
Tey Shaak's parents were very pretty people which transferred over to him at birth. Tey Shaak's parents were hunters. They had the good fortune of knowing each other from childhood and growing up together, so it wasn't surprising when they decided to have a child together. As most Togruta's are Force sensitive, it wasn't surprising when their son Tey began showing sighns of Force Sensitivity as well. They took care of him for two years before calling the Jedi to train him, they wanted more for their son than a life on Shili could offer. So it was that at 2 years old that a Jedi Master and his Padawan were sent to pick up the child. Tey was ofcourse accepted rather quickly, the Togruta having been contributing members to the Jedi Order since practically it's beginning. Tey though did learn to speak quicker than the other younglings, for he had started to make noises at two years old and then on to small words by two and half.
Tey Shaak: ages 3-13
At 3 years old Tey had come to learn how to walk. It was then that he was put in classes relatively like pre-kindergarden with other younglings. There he would spend the next year learning the glactic basic alphabet and how to phrase small sentences.
At 4 years old Tey had been put in a class of other kids of the same age. When Tey Shaak turned 7 he'd begun practicing unarmed combat, often going to the Jedi Archives to read on the various kinds of martial arts recorded there.
For 9 years Tey Shaak studied Reading, Writing, Math, Basic Force Techniques, Astrography, Jedi/Republic History, how to contruct a lightsaber, practicing his unarmed skills and Shii-Cho Lightsaber Training, under many Jedi Masters. By the time Tey Shaak turned 13 he'd mastered the basics of the Force Techniques such as telepathy, telekenetic techniques, and some mederate Force Senses as well as the Shii-Cho Lightsaber style. He was getting better at smoothing out his movements in the unarmed arts at this time as well.
Come the age of 13 Tey Shaak took to training under his first Jedi Master, Jolee Sidus, it was the Master that'd taught his class how to construct the lightsaber and the Shii-Cho style of Lightsaber combat.
This old black human Master came to have a sort of rapport with young Tey Shaak and so took him as his padawan learner.
The two of them were almost inseperable within the first week of their Master/ Padawan relationship, they talked alot, mostly about varying philosophies like the relationship between the "light" and "dark" side of the force.
Suffice to say they didn't leave the Jedi Temple much. For 5 years the old Jedi Master, that Tey Shaak nicknamed "Blade" for his speed in lightsaber manuevers as well as being a Battle Master, taught Tey Shaak the philosophies of each lightsaber style and about the Battle Master rank. It wasn't long before a desire for being a battle master came up in Tey.
The first year that Tey Shaak spent with Blade, went about learning the philosophies of Djem-So and travelling to Dantooine to contruct his own lightsaber and find a crystal for the weapon.
Not to mention discussing their point of views on the force itself.
Tey still wasn't quite sure what he "believed" about the force, he'd heard so many theories it was hard for him to take one as his own over the others. Master Jolee believed that the force was all about balance. He believed that you couldn't have a fanatic on the light side without a fanatic on the dark side, and he explained his reasonings. Everything had a reaction to something he'd tell Tey Shaak, which made sense to the young padawan.
They discussed this and other subjects on the way to Dantooine.
Travelling to Dantooine: Lightsaber Construction
When Blade and Tey Shaak arrived on Dantooine it sported a clear sky and a sort of tropical warm temperature.
Tey Shaak couldn't have been more excited, this was his first time off-world that he could recall. The sight was magneficent, rolling hills, gold wild grass and a tranquil looking blue sky.
Tey Shaak couldn't imagine a more peaceful looking place in all the galaxy.
Both Master and student set about in search of an appropriate cave. It didn't take long, if you didn't consider the wild beasts that they came across, namely the Kath hounds that roamed the plains. When they entered the cave, Tey Shaak felt a shiver run through his body. He felt the minds of the numerous wild Viper Kinrath that inhabited the cave they were in.
The minds of the Viper Kinrath facinated Tey Shaak. The Kinrath's mind had the feeling of being instinctually hungry, cold and somewhat angry predators, something Tey Shaak had never felt in the force before. They made their way deeper into the dark, dank cave, fighting Viper Kinrath as they went.
Tey Shaak used his force powers to "shove" the Kinrath away from him while his Jedi Battle Master "Blade" cut the beasts down with easy horizontal and stabbing movements. Once in a open space, he went about looking for a crystal that struck his fancy. Tey's Master dealt with the remaining Viper Kinrath.
Tey knelt at a unusual colored crystal, it held a bluish purple glow.
Tey studied it for a few seconds before grabbing the stone. It had a entrancing quality about it to Tey Shaak, like it was meant for him alone.
The crystals intrigued Tey and he'd wanted to study them more closely but time would not allow that. They returned to Jedi Enclave there on Dantooine after that a short time later.
There Tey busied himself with contructing his lightsaber, it took him the better part of a month to finish the lightsaber's contruction.
After the lightsaber was complete they left aboard public transport, bound for Coruscant and the Jedi Temple there.
Tey Shaak: ages 15-current
The second year Tey Shaak learned the philosophies of Jar-Kai.
The third year he learned the philosophies of Makashi.
The fourth year he learned the philosophies of Soresu.
The fifth year Tey Shaak learned the philosophies of Ataru.
During the five years with Blade, Tey had come to learn the philosophies of each form. Though Tey had learned how to dual wield and double bladed combat, it felt odd to him. He was more cumbersome with dual weilding, so not much effort went into learning those particular styles of lightsaber dueling.
The backhanded styles though were a pleasant challenge to Tey, and he continued to try to learn them as best as he could.
The sixth year Blade died of natural causes.
Tey Shaak shed some tears but not because his master was now one with the force, but because he'd already come to miss the old Battle Master. Tey tried to comfort himself with the promise of a new Jedi Master to train under and improving the skills the Battle Master had taught him.
Tey Shaak reflected on the skills he'd mastered during the 9 years of training, namely the basic Force Techniques, the unarmed skills he'd come to know from his time in the Jedi Archives and the basics of the various Lightsaber styles.
Finally the day came, Tey Shaak had come to learn through talk in the Jedi temple, that Jedi Knights were reviewing the lists of younglings to take as padawans.
Tey Shaak waited in the main area of the Jedi Temple to await someone that would take him as their padawan.
He didn't have to wait very long, a young Human with blonde hair found him about a week later. His name was Zach Starfire and he claimed to be Tey Shaak's new Jedi Master. They'd started to get to know one another right then and there. Zach put Tey through some Force and lightsaber excercises, and about an hour later, maybe more. Tey didn't really keep track of how much time had passed during the time they'd made introductions and started the excercises, but, for some reason...Zach left. He didn't tell Tey Shaak to follow him, didn't tell him where he was going or when he'd be back or even if he was coming back. Tey thought Zach had simply forgotten something and was going to fetch it at first, and so simply waited for Zach to return. After all, Zach didn't even take his belongings, he just left them there on the ground underneath a bush in the Temple Courtyard. Tey Shaak waited until midnight that night and finally gave in to the ushering of the other Jedi Masters to leave the Courtyard and go to bed.
Tey Shaak would always remember that because it had been raining that day and the rain had grown heavy as the day dwindled. Tey was hurt, he'd finally gotten a Master, a Master that seemed to like him. The man even complimented him on his control over the force and had made some accurate observations within a short amount of time, and the man simply walked away like he'd just discarded a peice of trash. Tey Shaak couldn't recall ever feeling as low as he did then. Zach's actions and words puzzled Tey but, the Togruta thought that maybe he'd forgot to tell someone to tell him what was going on. So, confident that Zach would return and explain Tey waited in the courtyard everyday. Finally a month went by and Tey Shaak was no closer to finding out why Zach had just vanished without saying a word, despite thinking of multiple explanations and situations that might require such actions. But there was one question that always loomed at the end of each "why not tell me?". After that Tey busied himself with reading about the movements and stances of Soresu in the Archives, since it was clear by then Zach was not coming back at all.
One day another young man approached Tey in the Courtyard, while he was practicing the Soresu movements and stances that he'd read about and copied onto sheets of flimsi. His name was Locke Nemsee and he was 26 years old. The two of them made fast friends, they talked about their views on the force and other matters. They sparred with each other, and Locke gave Tey Shaak some tips on his movements in Soresu, although admitting that he himself wasn't an expert on the form. They had similar tastes, they both liked playing pranks and they both felt more comfortable discarding their respective titles, of which Locke was a Jedi Knight and Investigator for the Order. Tey Shaak was ofcourse still a Padawan at this time. At first Locke was uncomfortable talking about his childhood, which Tey Shaak readily understood when he revealed that his parents hadn't been good role models for him. He'd told Tey that his father was a drug addict and that his mother sold herself to keep the family running, the bills paid and to pay off the enforcers that supported her husbands addictions. Tey Shaak hadn't known how to take the revelation of Locke's mother "selling herself" but, his mind had naturally come to only one conclusion. Tey Shaak would have asked right then about it, but, it hadn't been the right time and so let it be. They'd sparred a few times, went out to eat for a night on the town and gotten to become friends in a relatively short amount of time. Then Tey got notice that soon he'd be assighned somewhere by the Reassighnment Council since he didn't have a Jedi Master to advance under.
Not too long after that the Reassighnment Council assighned Tey Shaak to the Exploration Corps. There he spent three years traveling the Galaxy with a Jedi Consular named "Nobby" LuBimbo, he was a light green skinned Twi'lek who was an archaeologist, that spoke with a slurr and walked with a limp. Tey Shaak spotted right away that one of Nobby's leku was little more than a foot long stump. The Twi'lek had caught him staring one day and had explained that while on an excavation on Subterrel with his Jedi Master, they'd stumbled upon a group of force users that were obsessed with the Sith in a abandoned part of the mine. Nobby hadn't been very good with a lightsaber and they'd captured him easily and held him by both of his leku. Though the fight between the Force users and his Jedi Master seemed at first a one sided fight, they both came to realise at about the same time, that they weren't a small group. The Sith fanatics soon overwhelmed his Master with sheer numbers in the cramped spaces of the mines and killed him.
After that, Nobby had tried to fight his way free to no avail and as a lesson, they'd cut his left leku off. The next thing he knew he was waking up in a medical facility on Naboo. His master it turned out contacted a Jedi Consular on Naboo via telepathy in his dying moments telling him where Nobby was and how to get to him. The Jedi had contacted the Temple on Coruscant and they sent for reinforcements. He'd met with them and a day later, rescued him. Since that day however, he began to walk with a limp and his words slurred when he spoke because of the treatment of his leku and the severing of his left leku.
After Nobby told the story, he began teaching Tey about archaeology. For three years Tey Shaak helped Master LuBimbo unearth clay pots, stone figures and other relics while improving his skills in Shii-Cho and Djem-So. Tey Shaak learned alot about the Sith and some of their leaders in general.
During this time, Tey Shaak learned the value of patience and caution and Nobby helped him to keep making the mental changes needed for a Jedi. He also learned alot about the force.
Nobby trained him in the arts of protection and healing, so that if ever something should happen during an excavation, the both of them could protect themselves better and heal faster.
When the three years were over, the Jedi Council felt that he qualified to take the Knighthood Trials, since he was of age and from all appearances had finally mastered Shii-Cho, the most basic form of Lightsaber combat.
Tey Shaak was on his way back to the Jedi Temple on a public transport with "Nobby". Tey had explained that he'd recevied a message from the Jedi Council, and that he was to take the Jedi Trials early next week, they wanted him rested and fully prepared before taking the Trials, which was why they were waiting a couple days. "Nobby" had been in contact with the Council on a regular basis and the disabled Twi'lek had seemed almost extatic the last couple days, though Tey couldn't tell why, all they'd done was unearth a pyramid looking stone artifact.
Tey thought he'd read something about something that looked like the artifact they'd found but, it was so long ago he couldn't remember. So, Tey busied himself with asking Nobby about the Jedi Trials. All Nobby told him was that there were four trials and they varied depending on who was taking them.
The Twi'lek then had prceeded to name the 4 trials.
The Trial of Spirit, the Trial of Courage, the Trial of Flesh and the Trail of Skill.
He said that knowing this wouldn't really help Tey Shaak because no one could fully prepare for the Jedi Trials anyway.
The Jedi Trials
When they arrived Tey was exhausted from the long trip and went to his room to put the things he had away. It wasn't long after he put his things away that he'd fallen asleep. The next day he awoke later than usual. He went to the courtyard like he usually did, to read or practice. He met with Locke Nesmee a few times that week to just catch up with him, have a a night out on the town or spar in one of the Temples many training rooms.
Needless to say the week went by fast for Tey Shaak.
He was instructed to go to an upper level wing of the Temple, near the entrance to the Jedi Archives the day before, they'd given him a specific time as well. Tey had no problem finding the place. He'd spent many hours in the Jedi Archives, reading up on some historical figure or one of the seven lightsaber styles.
That morning as Tey waited for the Masters to arrive he silently repeated the Jedi Code to himself. Tey knew that this, repeating the Code of the Jedi and explaining it, was probably going to be part of the trials at one point. It was always good to recite the words and explanations anyway, to keep the points in mind at all times.
Emotion, yet peace.
Ignorance, yet knowledge.
Passion, yet serenity.
Chaos, yet harmony.
Death, yet the Force.
Then he repeated the meaning of the code as his first Jedi Master, had told him. It in truth was the easiest for him to remember. He could hear Master Sidus' words as if he was right beside him.
"Jedi are the guardians of peace in the galaxy.
Jedi use their powers to defend and to protect.
Jedi respect all life, in any form.
Jedi serve others rather than ruling over them, for the good of the galaxy.
Jedi seek to improve themselves through knowledge and training".
Tey didn't wait long, he'd been about five minutes early, which gained him some approval from the two Jedi Masters, a Twi'lek and a Cerean. Tey Shaak stood up and entered letting the two Masters go before him.
Then one of the walked up to another room where they could watch the events as one stayed below. The one who stayed below was the Cerean. He'd introduced himself as Sen Ro-Ka and the other Master but, Tey didn't catch the Twi'lek's name.
He caught Sen Ro-Ka saying that today was a day that he could be proud of. That going through the Trials was a stepping stone to a life 'officially' in the Order, for the Order and for the good of the galaxy.
Then the Cerean stepped into the watch room after telling Tey the Trials were now going to begin.
The lights dimmed, making the high ceilinged room appear much bigger than it actually was.
The lights continued to fade and eventually the walls dissapeared from Tey's sight for a minute or two. As Tey's eyes adjusted a 'clanging' sound came from behind him, it sounded like some kind of heavy utility droid walking. Then a spotlight came on and focused on Tey Shaak, just then the walking stopped and whatever it was, was now running. Suddenly 4 green lightsaber blades hissed to life, not five feet away from him.
The Jedi Temple Training Droid-The Trials of Skill, Courage & Flesh
Two of the lightsabers came hurtling in, their trajectory taking them to Tey Shaaks head at a speed that completely took the Togruta by surprise. Tey Shaak dropped to the floor, the two lightsabers missing his montrals by bare inches, but the highly customized assualt droid was already coming down with its other two arms in an axe chop. Tey Shaak rolled away and activated his lightsaber as he kick jumped to his feet, the right arms digging into the floor beside him as the left arms came in for another swipe intending to tear him in half at the stomach.
Tey Shaak used the force to launch himself in the air and put a right spin on himself as the droids lightsabers came dangerously close to him, as he spun he could actually see the top arm and the lightsaber connected to it miss his left leg by inches.
Tey Shaak struck with a upper verticle strike as his body rotated back towards the ground to come to a landing, his strike hit the force field on the droids shoulder socket.
A moment later the top arm hung limp and the lightsaber it held deactivated, but, it still had three more arms. The droid didn't hesitate, didn't wait for him to get his balance back, it just dropped the treads connected to it's double jointed legs and tried to ram him into the ground, ready to swing it's remaining three lightsabers as it came. Tey Shaak dive rolled to the side, bringing his lightsaber up to defend himself against the droids lightsabers that followed it's body. The three swords clashed, and Tey twisted his arm forward circular movement, in a Djem-So manuever, as he ducked into the droid's right "arm pit". This would normally force someone to drop whatever weapons they were holding but, had the force fields not been up, the droids wrists would have been cut off. Unfortunately, the manuever also dislocated Tey's right arm as the droid trundled past, making him drop his lightsaber. The droid turned it's torso around without the legs following and trundled back for another pass, this time not going so fast. Tey telekinetically summoned his lightsaber to his left hand and snapped it on, ignoring the burning and pulsating pain in his disclocated right arm. The droid raised it's only active arm, the lower arm on the left side, and brought it down on Tey Shaak, who braced for the impact by bending his knees. The impact of the two blades sent tremors down his arm but Tey Shaak ignored the pain and manuevered himself beneath the droids arm and forced his arm to straighten, forcing the only active lightsaber away from his body and out into the open air.
Then Tey Shaak struck twice as he gathered the force to himself and forced his arm to be faster, striking the droids chest and head in one smoothe movement. A moment later, the droid shuttered and powered down. Tey Shaak was breathing heavy now and his robes were already damp with sweat from his encounter with the Temples Training droid and his dislocated arm. It hurt like nothing that Tey had experienced before.
It took everything Tey had to not scream because of the pain. Due to the pent up feelings, pain and his body compensating for his injury by heating itself, tears began to roll down his cheeks and blurr his vision. He knew he had to move on to the other Trials in his head however, and started to breath deeply to slow his pulse, save his energy and calm himself down.
The Nightmare-The Trial of Spirit
Tey Shaak shook his head to clear the tears from his eyes. He noticed the temperature in the room cooled considerably and a light mist began to set in. Shadowy shapes appeared last that looked like trees you'd find in a swamp. The hologenerators kicked on and set the theme, surrounding Tey Shaak in a night setting in the middle of a swamp, unknown to Tey. He'd simply thought it might've been one of the Jedi Masters in the watch room manipulating the environment and creating illusions.
Another figure steeped in shadow appeared a moment later, straight ahead of Tey. The figure stepped forward, and Tey Shaak heard heavy breathing that seemed to come from all around him, disorienting him slightly. Then the shadowy figure reached for something at its waist level and brought it to his side.
Tey Shaak knew what it was by the way the figure held it, it was a lightsaber. A moment later a crimpson blade emerged from the hilt and terror, bewilderment and dread seized Tey Shaak as he stared into the face that knelt before the Sith. It was Locke! Tey Shaak could feel the Sith in the force, could feel the bloodlust that lay below the surface and the intense hatred at it's core for anything good and decent, or atleast that's what the illusion made him feel.
A moment later, someone appeared behind Tey Shaak, and he whirled in response. Jolee Sidus stood there with an open mouth as a red lightsaber peirced his heart. Leisha, the waitress from the Star's End Cantina, screaming in terror at the sight and looking at Tey Shaak in horror.
Tey Shaak turned back to face the Sith, a part of him knew it was fake, that all this was illusory images brought to life with the temples holoprojectors but, that part of him didn't register in his mind. To Tey Shaak it was all very real, because he'd had nightmares about this very scenario. Locke held captive and defeated by a Sith Lord. Jolee Sidus his first Jedi Master dying violently before his eyes. Leisha his first crush caught up in it all and her mind twisted against him.
"Kill the woman now or he dies!" The hooded Sith said his deep hood and lower half mask concealing his features. Tey Shaak wanted to run forward and fight the Sith, but he knew Locke would be dead instantly if he did that.
He felt rage and horror building up inside of him, as his mind came to only one conclusion. One of them would have to die for the other to live. Should he kill Leisha and save Locke? Or sacrifice Locke, and save his first crush Leisha?
"I can feel your anger Togruta, give in to it. You've done it before. Remember when you were playing Limmie with some of your fellow students? Remember how you beat Leresk Groudhan for what you felt was cheating? You beat him with your fists so badly he had to have three fellow classmates pull you off of him" The Sith smirked beneath the half mask "Give in to the dark side! Give in to the power of it! That's what you want isn't it? To become the most powerful swordsman in the galaxy?! To become a Jedi that becomes famous and is added into the Jedi Archives itself?! The Dark Side can give you all this and more! Look at me! I bested your friend like it was nothing!" The Sith was trying to influence his mind now. It was true that when he was younger those had been his goals. He'd grown since then and his resolve grew firm.
Then Tey had an idea, he'd sacrifice neither of them. Instead he focused on steadily bringing a tree branch near the Sith back, just enough to where the Sith would have to give his attention to it and release Locke. Tey pulled the branch back as far as he dared. That is who I was, that's not who I am now! Tey Shaak let the branch fly and force lept at the same time. He saw the Sith raise his lightsaber to cut the tree's branch in half, and then his eyes focused on Tey Shaak coming down on him, both arms holding his lightsaber firm. The Sith easily blocked Tey's lightsaber blade but didn't catch Tey's fist. Tey had let go of the lightsaber with his right hand and balled it, despite the pain.
Tey's fist smashed into the Sith's concealed face and sent sprawling to the ground. Then the Sith vanished and Tey Shaak raised his lightsaber with both hands.
After that, the lights came back on and the holoprojectors dissipated the swamp setting, and the Sith's presence in the force lifted and evaporated. It was only then that Tey Shaak realised that the Sith had been an illusion, along with everything he'd felt about him. Sen Ro-Ka and the Twi'lek Jedi Master came down and shook his hand, congradulating him on passing the Jedi Trials. Tey Shaak was visibly trembling, the feelings, images and words peirced him deep in his heart. Of all Tey Shaaks fears, that was his worst. That he'd lose everybody he cared about and give in to the temptation of the Dark Side of the Force.
Then the words hit Tey Shaak like a sledge hammer and he stared unbelievingly at the two Masters. He asked them about the two other trials and they explained to him that his first trial had actually be three and the third trial carried on into his last.
It took them a few minutes to explain everything to Tey Shaak, he was still reeling emotionally and physically from the Jedi Trials.
Then they took him to the Medical wing and fixed his dislocated arm. The doctor told him that it'd be atleast 6 months before he got full usage of the arm back. After that, they headed to The Hall of Knighthood to complete the Ceremony the next morning.
The Knighting Ceremony
As was tradition Tey Shaak spent the night meditating in a chamber below the Hall of Knighthood. During the night, he was able to gleam some things about himself that he'd need to change, like his eagerness for a fight, and to dial down his competitive spirit even more. If he didn't, the gleams he'd gained through the night from the force, showed him it could be disastrous for him in the future. The predictions hadn't come all at once, it was more like, peices of a large puzzel, or peices of a shattered window that he had to put together little by little, over long periods of time. The meditation hadn't left him exhausted like he thought it would have, his body for all intents and purposes had gotten quite a bit of rest. Now it was his mind that hurt.
Suddenly a message through the force was sent to him, they were ready for him in the Hall of Knighthood. Tey Shaak was excited and nervous at the same time. When he stepped into the doorway to the knighting chamber, it was almost pitch dark, then when Tey Shaak had made his way halfway down the aisle, candles and lightsabers were lit. The Grand Master stood in the middle while the council members stood in a circle around him, hoods on and lightsabers pointing toward the floor.
The Grand Master, Jace Beleren, took that moment to speak as Tey Shaak approached the circle. "We are all Jedi. The Force speaks through us. Through our actions, the Force proclaims itself and what is real. Today we are here to acknowledge what the Force has proclaimed" he said before pointing for Tey Shaak to enter and kneel before him. Tey did so and kneeled before the Grand Master, taking his lightsaber from his belt and putting it on the ground before him. Then The Grand Master said "Padawan Tey Shaak, by the right of the Council, by the will of the Force, I dub thee, Jedi Knight of the Republic." With that he ignited his lightsaber and lowered it to hover over Tey's left shoulder, then his right and then back to his left before deactivating the lightsaber.
After that a council member stepped forward, Tey didn't see who, and said "Take up your lightsaber, Tey Shaak, Jedi Knight. And may the Force be with you." Then the Council members saluted Tey Shaak, completeing the ceremony. After that Tey was handed his new blue robes and a new cloak, with the symbol of the Order emblazoned on the back. Tey Shaak bowed to the person that handed him his new robes and went to his chambers to change. Later that evening he met up with Locke Nesmee and told him of his Trials and of being accepted as a Jedi Knight.
Locke treated Tey Shaak to a celebratory meal at a cantina called
The Star's End Cantina.

In Dantooine's Crystal Cave
Tey Shaak stepped lightly as he and his Jedi Master "Blade" walked through the dank, dark cave. He let the force wash over him. Tey stretched out his senses and felt for one of the creatures that lived in the cave. He managed to contact one, the creatures mind was predatory in nature, that much was deffinetly certain. The creatures mind felt oddly like cold hunger and instinctual anger, the feeling fascinated Tey.
"Tey! Keep sharp! The Viper Kinrath are coming" Blade's voice interrupted Tey's probing.
"Yes Master. Master I reached one of these Kinrath's minds and it felt oddly comforting." Tey confessed somewhat shyly.
"Yes, I suppose it would. That would be your races natural predatory instincts that are comforting you. Use these to attack the on-coming Kinrath with your training." Blade said igniting his lightsaber's silver-blue blade, throwing shadows on the walls.
"Yes Master. I will try to." Tey said mentally preparing to defend himself.
Five Kinrath attacked the Jedi Master and the padawan a few minutes later. Blade swung his lightsaber vertically and cut one in half, either sides of the creature falling limply to the cave's floor.
Tey crouched letting a hiss escape through his teeth as a Kinrath approached him. The Kinrath's top hook-like appendage shot out but Tey Shaak simply side-stepped and Force Pushed the creature into the cave wall, temporarily stunning it.
Blade finished off another Kinrath with a quick horizontal swipe that took the creatures "head" off before turning to finish Tey's with a quick stabbing motion to it's abdomen.
The remaining two Kinrath were finished off quickly and the two force users were able to move on towards the deeper parts of the cave. Not three minutes later two more waves of Kinrath attacked. When they'd finally finished off the remaining Kinrath they found themselves standing in a large open area.
The walls of the cavern were decorated with vibrant colored crystals of all different sizes and colors. Time seemed to stop for Tey as he took in this wonderous sight.
Blade walked forward and gently placed his hand on his padawan's shoulder.
"Go on, pick the one you want, this cave system is strong in the force and the crystals will grow back soon." Blade said smiling as his padawan's expression of awe grew to reveal excitement.
Tey began looking at each one with an expression of wonder and curiosity. A couple minutes later he came upon an unusual colored crystal, it glowed in a bluish-purple color. It was the most beautiful thing Tey had ever seen. Tey carefully dug the precious crystal out from the hard rock, and held it up to let the cavern's dim light play over it.
"Tey! C'mon! We can't stay here forever besides the Kinrath are coming again!" Blade gestured to Tey for the entrance.
"Wait a moment please Master! These crystals are amazing, I must learn more about them!" Tey hurriedly wrote down everything about the crystals, from their color and the different feelings he got from them in the force. All in all Tey wrote down twelve varying crystals, all of them varying in color and feeling.
A few minutes later the two were running towards the cave's entrance.
Blade looked to Tey with a grin on his face and said "I'll race you to the plains! GO!!" Blade was off with a burst of Force aided speed.
"Hey! No fair Master!" Tey Shaak said with a laugh as he too shot away with use of his own Force Speed.
A few moments later they both shot out the Crystal Cave's entryway at the same time. After clearing the cave's entrance they both lept into the air and let the warm wind caress their dirty faces. It was the best day of young Tey Shaak's life.
