Name:Tarbukk
Race: Wookie
Age: 12
Height: 6' 1"
Weight: 200 lbs
Appearance: Tarbukk is tall for his age, even by Wookiee standards. He stands already taller than the standard human and is still growing. Unfortunately for him the same can not be said of his build. Tarbukk has a tall thin frame, unlike his ancestors, which gives him even more of an odd appearance in comparison to his people. With eyes a shade of wild green and he has fairly short (by Wookiee standard) fur that he keeps well groomed and pulled back out of his eyes. His fur is a light chestnut tone but in the direct sunlight he appears to have an almost blonde coat. He often wears loose fitting robes over shorts and a unbuttoned tunic.
Personality: Tarbukk is a peaceful, studious soul. Ever since he was a brought to the Jedi Temple as a toddler he has stuck out like a sore thumb due to his abnormal height (even so by Wookiee standards) and has been shy as to the fact. The young Wookiee would more often than not spend time deep in study of a new subject or interacting one on one with instructors (who tended to understand Shyriiwook better than his peers) rather than being amongst the others in his clan. Tarbukk was lucky enough to come to terms with his ancestrial anger problems at a young age, being taught by a master to meditate to keep the strong emotion at bay.

Bio: The young Wookiee by the name of Tarbukk was born on Kasyyyk to a once renown warrior, Lumpaobukk and his mate Nawbecca. Shortly after he was born Tarbukk and his mother were taken by slavers who had invaded their home in the night, while Lumpaobukk was off on a traditional hunt with the other males of their clan. By the time the hunters had returned the clan’s home amongst the wroshyr trees the slavers had already captured the majority of the clans young males and several females to look over them. In an attempt to rescue his captured family, Lumpaobukk was shot down and killed as the ship made its way out of the great forest.
His first year of life was the only one he had spent with his mother. The two were kept on one of the moons of Nal Hutta, only a stone’s throw from Nar Shaddaa where slaves were held between auctions. Slowly their clan was sold off. The young males sold individually and the females sold normally with several of the pups as no one would by a still dependent toddler to go through the trouble of caring for it on their own. When Tarbukk had just turned one year old (by standard years) he stood at his mother’s side on the auction block beside his mother, desperately clutching to her paw in fear of all the commotion coming from the crowd in the auction.
Amongst the crowd was an elder female Miralukan, a Jedi Watchmen by the name of Haria Tahnlon who took notice in the young Wookiee. ‘Seeing’ his potential in the force she bid for the youngling individually, leaving his mother to be sent back to the slave holding cells to look after the other wookiee pups. Tarbukk, being very young, was extremely upset with being separated from his mother for the first time he lashed out it anger momentarily before falling into a state of depression, refusing to interact. Haria tested the young Wookiee’s blood and after seeing his Midi-chlorian levels to confirm her suspicion, took the pup before the Jedi council where it was decided that he was to be taken in as a youngling and Tarbukk’s life began.
From the start it was hard for Tarbukk to fit in. When he first joined his clan he stuck out like a sore thumb, standing already more than a meter in height he towered over the other younglings and was feared because of his imposing appearance despite his withdrawn demeanor. Through his early years things continued to this effect, eventually the fear from the other students subsided leaving the tall furry youngling on his own mostly conversing with only the instructors (given that many of the younglings didn’t understand Shyriiwook). Because of this from a very young age Tarbukk spent a good portion of his time in study, spending his spare time with his nose in the screens of the archive or meditating in the initiate quarters.
At the age of 6 Tarbukk hit a rough patch in his life. During one of his history lessons the slave trade was brought to the front of, the conversation and at the mention of Wookiee enslavement something inside of Tarbukk’s mind snapped. All the ancestral rage and anger built up inside him weld up causing disturbance in the young male’s mind. At first this anger wasn’t outward; he kept it pent up within him though eventually it began to show in his studies as well as saber practice. The instructors noticed this and it was brought to the attention of one of the Masters, a twi’lek male by the name of Toth’har. The Master pulled the young Wookiee off to the side one day as Tarbukk’s clan headed for the refectories after a particularly difficult class on political science.
The Master recognized the anger, though it was ancestral it was still dangerous and his job was to make sure the youngling did not allow this emotion to continue to block his mind. At first Tarbukk was apprehensive, not sure how a Jedi Master would be able to understand the complex situation he had gone through as a toddler ripped from his mother after being stole away from his home. After several meetings the Master revealed to Tarbukk that he too had been a victim of the slave trade and that he had lived amongst the holding cells for a good portion of his life until he was put up for auction at the age of five. He had grown amongst his own people along with many other species, including Wookiees. He told Tarbukk of how he had been impressed by the Wookiees’ pride, they held their heads high and never let their pride be crushed by the slavers no matter the circumstances.
This brought a new spark to Tarbukk, he had never really spent time with his people because he had been taken at such a young age but something about hearing the way Master Toth’har described them brought a new vigor to the angered soul. The Master spent several sessions instructing Tarbukk in a way of meditation he could use to help keep the anger tamed before he took his leave of the young initiate.
Tarbukk became peaceful after this meeting. His rage seemed to fade away more and more with each session of meditation until he had it mostly under his control. From this point on he approached his studies with a renewed vigor and with hopes to build upon his new found peace within himself.
As he reaches the age where all younglings are either taken up as an Padawan or sent to the Agricorps, Tarbukk pushes harder than ever to stand above the crowd (figuratively speaking) hoping to find a Master to take him under his wing to finish his training.
