"I don't sense anything?" (Open)

Dan Firestar had gotten up in the wee hours and eaten at the lunch halls.

Before long ha had gone to the hanger and been working on his starfighter, making minor tweaks and prepping it for a test flight.

He had launched at around 7:30 and spent three hours of practice in space, with training fighters and the like, stints, and just flying, at one point he just stopped and looked out at the stars.

But eventually he had decided to come back down to the temple and after making sure the fighter had fuel he went to the meditation rooms, he had heard rumors about possible battles that where approaching, he hadn't heard word from the Blades that he was needed yet, and if he was it would be his first mission under the blades.

Regardless he wanted to be ready, his recent missions had been keeping him on his toes, but he wanted to be at his peek.

So after another hour of meditating, he made hi way to the training room.

He tossed his outer robes off revealing one of his three suits, his slightly darker then normal Jedi Robes.

Then walking to one of the training circles, He powered up a training regimen he had set for himself, two saber droids and three remotes powered up and he prepared himself for the oncoming battle.

Dan powered up his two sabers, the familiar hilts in his hands and each saber a mirror of the other, the first orange core and a shine of yellow the other was the opposite.

He blocked several shots from the training remotes before the two bots moved and attacked, almost in sync.

He side stepped out of the way of the first and flung his right blade upward to block the attack from the second.

Then the blades removed from each-other, the droids aiming for Dan's legs, Dan jumped up and over the droid landing behind him, and hitting him with a back stab, and with his left hand pulling two of the three remotes, causing them to acknowledge as defeated.

Then removing the saber from the back of the first droid he spun to block a shot from the remaining remote, and then an on coming attack from the main training droid.

The training remote attacked again and Dan dodged it, moving half around the bulky droid, the droid was hit by the remotes bolt but only in the lower leg area and not very hard.

Dan jumped up and landed on the shoulders of the bot and used the force to slam the remote onto the ground and then using what he knew of the Droid disable, he channeled that into the droid he was piggy backing defeating the match.

He jumped up and off the droid landing on the ground and powering his sabers off line, breathing heavily, and moving for the water dispenser.

That was good...

Onna Jarsin was amazed by what she just saw. It had been a while since she had seen something like that because she was always kept to her self, and just ignored others but something that told her to open up that training room. When she looked in she just couldn't believe how good Dan was. She took mental notes of how he did some of the things. They wouldn't help her much though because she only used one training saber. There was something she could take from it though like how stayed consecrated and how he got the upper hand on the training droids.

Onna then saw Dan walking over to the water dispenser. She saw this as her chance to she if he could give her some tips. Then she heard him say something and in replay she said

Yes it was very good

Dan let out a breath after he took his last drink.

Then he heard a female youngling from behind him,
Yes it was very good.

Dan raised an eyebrow and gave a half smile as he turned to the little youngling.

Well Hello there young one!
Dan set the paper cup under the water dispenser again letting it fill up.

He than crouched to eye level with the girl, she looked as if she was exited to meet him,
It looks like i drew an audience. I'm Jedi Knight Dan Firestar, And whats your name? He said taking another drink of the extremely small cup.

He thought it was slightly odd to see a youngling away from the rest of the clan, but he knew that they weren't always under supervision and even at times not even part of big clans.

He brushed his fingers through his hair removing sweat from his eyes, and forehead.

That was a bit of a workout... he gave a smile to the little one.

Onna thought for a moment a little nervous to be around a Jedi Knight because she was just old enough to become a Padawan. She took a deep breath when she realized she was taking so long to answer she quickly said:

Onna.....Onna Jarsin......Master Jedi.

Then she thought for a while for something to say but she couldn't think of anything. Nothing was coming to say her head just wouldn't think of anything. She started to sweat and kept thing then it hit her she didn't even know if he had a padawan she had just wanted to impress him so much she hadn't even thought if he had one.

Do you have a padawan? hoping that he would say no she so badly wanted to impress him so at least he would think about taking her on as a padawan. She thought if he thought about it then someone would take her on as one.

Dan Could tell such nervousness in the girl,
Onna.....Onna Jarsin......Master Jedi.

Dan was about to speak to Onna, but she appeared to be trying to say something, but when nothing came from the little one he did speak, if only to give her time to find the words for her thoughts.

A pleasure to meet you young Onna Jarsin.
He smiled, And I'm only a Knight, not a master, but i don't blame you for not knowing.
He placed an Arm on her shoulder to show that he could be trusted, if what ever she was trying to say was important.

Do you have a padawan?
Where...did that come from?
He thought not saying the words, she had obviously thought things out well to come to that question, From what Dan could tell she was no older than 12 years old, but to come up with that question she must have been very smart for her age.

Uhh...no, I don't have a padawan, but i wouldn't mind having one, however i haven't given it much thought.

Onna was happy that he didn't have a padawan. She was hoping to at the very least the first Jedi Knight she had ever seen with out a padawan. If he didn't have a padawan then at the very least she could learn something from him. Very rarely did Onna even get to talk to people out side her clan and masters. She relized that she was just glad to talk to someone. Then she decided to continue the conversation. She then ran into the same problem as before what to say she didn't want to sound like a kid. Very much so she wanted to impress him.

If you don't have a padawan then what do you do most days?

Onna asked it curiously hoping it wouldn't be taken the wroung way. She was just wondering what it was like to be a Jedi knight. Always had she wondered what it was like to not be in a clan all day. Not having to be in a certain place all day and be in bed by a certain time. Plus he could leave the temple. As a youngling Onna never got to leave. Talking to him really made her wonder.

If you don't have a padawan then what do you do most days?

Dan smiled at the young girl, Thinking up a responce.

Well, I still do saber practice on a daily bases as you just witnessed, But i also have my own starfighter, i tincker with it at times and i actually just got back from flying it.

He thought there was something else on her mind, so he just continued a bit longer, explaining a bit more about himself.

I'm also a member of the Blades, so i have to be good with a saber, He smiled, But i also make time for other things, studieing, medetation, that sort of thing is a regular part of my life, or any Jedi's life really.

What about you? Why where you here in the training hall's, Clan get a day off?

He looked at the youngling, he was indeed ijoying meeting her.

Onna thought for a short moment about the question.

Well sort of my clan was told to just do some exploring around the temple. Talk to people learn from someone other then our masters. That sometimes it better to get someones else view on things.......I came here to get a little bit of training in with my training saber before I started. It look like though that I started what we were told to do though.

Onna looked Dan into his eyes. She felt like there was some reason she had gone to the training halls first. Almost like the force had brought her there. Then she realized she should probably say something.

How long are you going to be at the temple for?

She was wondering if this would be the first and last time she ever saw Dan.

Dan listened to Onna, And nodded as she finished her story, Than she asked another question.

He responded,

Well, I do stay here at the temple, but a life as a blade means my schedule is that of the Sith, so if they or someone else attack somewhere, I'm part of the response team.

So I'm here most of the time, but i come and go a lot.

He looked at her, he could tell she was starting to question why she was "Really" in the training halls.

He was too, he hadn't planned on taking on a padawan yet, but coming down from space suddenly and starting in on his saber training early.

But it could be that because he may not even know he wanted a padawan.

You said you where here to get saber training in? How 'bout i get a training blade and let you hammer away at me?

Dan smiled standing and waiting for her answer.
He didn't expect her to beat him, but he thought it was obvious he wasn't going to fight back much either, and he wanted to test her, If he was going to take her as a padawan she would need skill, he lived a life more dangerous than other Jedi did. She would most defiantly need to prove herself.

Onna thought about the question she knew that the answer to this question would affect her whole life. If she said no then she might never get a chance to impress another Jedi Knight. Although if she said yes then she could mess up and not even impress him at all. On the other hand though she could really impress him if she said yes. She knew that she had to say something quickly or it would look like she was over thinking it, and couldn't make decisions fast enough. So here was the big question yes or no. In her heart though she knew the answer. This is what she had been waiting for. This is why her clan got this assignment so at the very least she could talk to Dan and learn something from his lightsaber form, and to learn more about the ways of the force.

Sound good to me.......It will be a a great honer to learn something from you Jedi Knight Firestar.

Thing Onna wanted to avowed this whole time is sounding like a kid, and she was hoping she had impresses Dan with there conversation. Now though she had a chance to impress him with her training saber. The one thing she had been practicing every day with since she had began her training as a youngling.

Onna took a deep breath. She realized her heart was beating a hundred miles an hour, and it felt like to was going to burst right out of her chest. Her hand started to shake and her legs were buckling her body was starting to realize how important this moment was to her. That if she screwed up it could affect her whole life. Then Onna remembered training to rely on the force and it will guide her to do what has to be done. That if she screws up that it meant it wasn't meant to be. She remembered the Jedi code and started to recite it in her head. Then she took another deep breath and was ready to begin.

Dan smiled but quickly noticed how nervous she really was.

He said trying already to instruct her, the second part was more to get a laugh out of her.

He looked for one of the weapons racks finding the training sabers, he than pulled one to him through the force, and began removing his own sabers from his belt and placing them with where he had hung his outer robes.

Than he walked to one of the training Circles with Onna, He stood several feet from her and powered the training blade on, and moved it to a defensive stance, Ya' know...it's been a very long time sense i used one of these things.
He said as he spun the training saber,

Alright attack when you're ready!

Calm your mind...don't forget to breath!
Onna laughed when Dan said this. She thought back it was probably the first time she had laughed since her best friend had left. All the sudden she realized how much she missed her back. As the two walked over to the training circles Onna came back to reality and was ready to show Dan what she really had.

Alright attack when you're ready!

Onna turned on her training blade. She studied Dan for a second looking for any weaknesses. Not like she was expecting to find anything. She was an eleven year old youngling and he was a Jedi Knight. She didn't have enough experience to see any of his weaknesses. If he had any; but Onna still looked any ways. Looking for a good long minute. When deciding she wasn't going to find one she had to use here own strengths to even try and keep up with the Jedi Knight who wasn't even trying. She was right handed so she would have to try and do things with her right hand. Special since it didn't really mater what hand he was using. He used two lightsabers meaning that both his hands would be pretty even.

Onna lifted her train saber a swung it at Dan's training saber. Dan easily blocking it. Then she took a half a step to her left. Swinging again at Dan's training saber.

Onna then realized that the tactic she would use against the other younglings wouldn't work with Dan. Of course they wouldn't though. Onna might not weigh much for her age but she was stronger then most younglings. She could normally just keep swing at their training saber and wear the other youngling out, but of course this wouldn't work against Dan he was way stronger then her. The only person she was going to wear out was herself.

So onna changes her attack. Instead of just swinging at his training saber she was going to have to try something else. So Onna swung to her left. Blocked! Then she quickly swung to her right. Blocked! She aimed at Dan's legs. Blocked! Then back up to his right shoulder. Blocked!

Onna kept trying to swing at any place that seem vulnerable, but every time Dan blocked it. After about 10 minutes of this Onna's didn't know what to do any more everything she tried Dan blocked it. Even though Onna knew that there was plenty of times Dan could have ended the fight but each time he just kept blocking her attacks and not even attacking back.

Onna felt like just giving up that there was no way that she could ever beat Dan but she kept going just trusting in the force that it would guide her. Onna swung again at Dan's leg, and he blocked it, but Onna had swung so hard that Dan's block had knocked her training saber from her hand.

Ending the fight.

Dan had known that he would block the youngones attacks, She was using a tactic that would weaken any one with less strength than she had, But Dan simply blocked the first two attacks.

He noticed a change in her tactic at this time, one that was trying to go for weak or open point's on Dan's person. Dan blocked several attacks one heading for his Right, than his left, than his leg, which he blocked and hopped over, than his right shoulder.

Dan already admired her determination, as he was about to say something encouraging to her, and give a tip she attacked again hard, her hands must have been sweaty because the saber bounced out of her hand.

She didn't go for the blade, something that others often did, mostly for the on official duels though.

Dan flicked the button off of his blade shutting the saber down.

Are you alright Onna? He looked down at her to make sure she wasn't about to pass out.

I can tell you are one of the better sword wielder of you're clan aren't you?

He said as he called her saber to him and handed it to her walking to the water area, getting two of the extremely small cups one for him and one for her.

Once they where full he handed one of the cups to Onna, he had seen the impact he already had on the youngling, he could tell she was desperate to get a master, and now he thought that a padawan wouldn't be a bad idea, he knew that training the next generation of Jedi was a part of the Jedi's duty, and she would need a lot of work to become able to fallow him on any dangerous missions.

I think I've thought about it, He smiled,
If...i do take you as my Padawan, you know it will be hard, and you know you'll have to work hard, and dangerous.

Dan still wasn't certain about taking her on, but he now was certain about getting one at least in the future, and perhaps sooner than that, and taking her on now.

Are you alright Onna?

Onna nodded because she didn't have any breath to say anything. All she was thinking was I hope I did good enough to impress Dan. That is the only reason she even did the fight was to impress him. She didn't care if she won or lost she just wanted to impress him.

I can tell you are one of the better sword wielder of you're clan aren't you?

Onna waited a moment and then finally caught her breath and answered.

I have only lost a fight once or twice.......I guess its because I spend all of my free time training with my training saber.

Then they walked over to the water area. Dan handed her one of the two small cups in his hand, and filled up the other. Onna could only think that he had at least been a little bit impressed with her fighting skills. Onna knew that for someone of his skill he would need to have a padawan skilled enough and willing to learn. Onna knew that she was willing to learn but she had no idea if he thought she was skilled enough.

If...i do take you as my Padawan, you know it will be hard, and you know you'll have to work hard, and dangerous.

Onna sighed in relief. Although there was still some uncertainty in Dan's voice. Onna took a drink from her cup and filled it back up. She had know she would have to work hard if she became a padawan, and she knew that it would be dangerous but if she was to become Dan's padawan then to would be a lot harder, and a lot more dangerous then if to would be any other Jedi Knight. Onna knew one thing in her heart thought that she was ready for the hard work, and no matter how dangerous it was this is what she had been waiting for her whole life. If she did become Dan padawan then she could change the universe and help people like she had wanted to since she had became a youngling. She knew she had to say something quick and the only thing she could think of was:

I'm ready.

I'm ready.

Dan needed to know nothing more from Onna,

Alright then...I'll meditate on this subject tonight and than decide if it is in your best interest to become my Padawan, Than if i think it safe, will take you on as my student.

Dan smiled as he finished the last of his drink, refilling it, and drinking it two more times.

Someone really needs to put in a request for bigger cups! He said mostly to make Onna laugh again, and to lighten the mood a bit.

I guess that means I'll see you in about two days.

He smiled ad he retrieved his robes and lightsabers.
And gave a farewell bow to Onna before turning to the exit and heading to the meditation chambers.

Onna couldn't believe that she actually had a chance to become a padawan. There was no way that she could have seen this coming that morning. Specially since see had been so alone ever since her best friend had left. Now she had a chance to do what she had wanted to do since she had became a youngling. TO help people she never wants people to treat other the way she was treated when she was younger. This is the chance she had been waiting for. Onna sat there and thought for a few more minutes and was almost lost in thought when two of her clan members came in and asked if she was using the training circle. Onna told them no, and left the training room smiling.
