Bountieful Failure (Rhyn)

Seria had gotten word that they had caught a Bounty Hunter. They hadn't given a name or any information yet. That is why they called for Colonel Knesos, one of the top Intelligence Officers in the Republic. Though she was the Assistant Counsel Director she was still called for interrogations from time to time.

The slender blond walked down the narrow hallway to the room they were keeping the prisoner. Has she reached the door a corporal handed her a data pad with what info they had. Thanking him and motioning for the enlisted man to open the door. It slide open and there sat a red and silver haired man.

Stepping into the room she undid the buttons on her jacket before sitting.

"So, it says here you were caught while attempting to scale a wall into the Senate. Who was your target and who sent you?"

Seria sat forward staring into the mans eyes. She may be small but she wasn't intimidated by anyone. She had plenty of experience fighting with her brothers not to be back down.

The harsh white light penetrated Kaz's closed eyes, making a red darkness all he could see, and though his senses were returning to him after the stun bolt had blasted him off of his perch and landing him on an outcropping at odd angles after knocking him senseless, he refuses to immediately open his eyes instead taking a mental and physical inventory of the damage he had sustained. Nothing seemed broken just sore.

Kaz finally opened his eyes to take in his surroundings. 'Oh great,' he thought, his mental capacities taking hold enough for an internal dialogue. another interrogation room, I hope it is local and not political...' His tongue scraped out between dry lips trying to moisten them as he started to touch the force using a meditative technique to ease the minor aches and return his senses.

Time in the harsh white light in the small white room seemed to not pass at all, though Kaz knew that was partly the perception of the room made to confound lesser minds. When the door finally opened a small, blonde female human, or so close to human that Kaz could not differentiate, entered holding a dataslate. Her crisp tone sharp, she did not beat around the bush her question was very direct and to the point.

Kaz's lips twitched somewhere between a grin and grimace as he held his and up to her and showed the bindings, as if to say he wouldn't talk while cuffed. He followed that with a slightly mischievous wink letting a small twinkle enter his darkeyes.

Sitting across from the man she noticed he was gesturing for then to remove the cuff. Smiling at the Bounty Hunter.

"Ok, ill make you a deal. Tell me your name and ill think about taking them off."

Seria said standing motioning for the guards to wait outside. Turning back to the prisoner. She sat on the corner of the table with only one leg. Also noticing the box of his belonging sitting on the table. Pulling it over toward her, peering inside to see what there was.

"Lets see what we have here. A blaster, couple power cells… oh wait here's something you don't see on a normal bounty hunter"

Knesos pulled out the lightsaber. Standing she started looking it over. Glancing over at the red hairs man for his reaction. Seria knew what it was, she had delt with her share of Jedi. Every so often one of the Council members would sit in on a meeting.

"So where did you get this. This isn't standard Bounty Hunter equipment. "

The Lieutenant Colonel jibbed at the black eyed man. She knew this was going to be one of the hardest interrogations yet. Getting warm she too her jacket off relieving her semi tight white button up shirt.

Kaz flashed his interrogator, his most winning smile as she signaled the guards to disperse, she was confident enough in her abilities with the relatively unarmed man that she didn't feel the need for support, he was impressed as she was of such an unassuming stature.

He once more held his bindings out to her as she started going through his personal belongings, leaving her request unanswered for a moment as she brought forth his favored lightsaber. The revelation didn't seem to phase her too greatly and he didn't trust enough in his lacking telepathic skills to try and touch her mind, not even the very surface thoughts. Instead Kaz decided that he would play her game as he studied her features.

"I am Kaz, and if you are insinuating that my saber is acquired by any unsavory means you are mistaken." He blinked as he let his eyes wander down from her softly cut face to her neck and then checked himself before they went any futher. "As for my purpose here, you've guessed partially correct. I am a hunter and I am not a part of the order. Any order." He added quickly for reassurance.

As she studied the saber, the hunter relieved his name to her. After that Seria could see that Kazs eyes were moving down her body. This made her feel good and discussed at the same time. Looking into the Mirialans blue eyes, she could see the wheels turning. He was plotting something. She then snapped her fingers and whistled.

"Hey, eye up here."

The officer said in a disapproving voice. Though he had complied with her request by giving her his name. But she knew that there was more to his name and she was going to find out, even if they had to be there the whole night. Walking over to his side of the table, pulling the key out for the restraints. She could hold her own, Kaz was about the same size as her brother Ren.

"So Bounty Hunter Kaz, if you're not part of the Jedi Order or Sith. Then what the hell were you doing sneaking into the Senate."

She said raising her voice as she went on with the question. Placing both hands on the table standing behind her chair now. Leaning over it, staring Kaz directly in the eyes. She didn't blink, twitch nothing just stood there staring.

Kaz held back his smirk as she donned her facade of stern interrogator. She was good, he could tell she was intelligence, just based on the way she held herself and acted, yet he could see there was more to her, perhaps a yearning for more, a life not lived or a love never accepted or pursued maybe, the possibilities were endless.

Once more Kaz touched upon the Force, feeling it wash over him like a cool breeze on a hot day, he readied himself for a long interrogation that would go nowhere fast.

"Do you like to dance?" He asked almost flippantly, changing the subject with a seductive wink. Interrogations were like any game ofstrategy, all about misdirection and deceit and who would slip first.

Seria glared at the Mirilian, she knew that he was trying to throw her off. The woman could tell that it wasnt Kazs first time in this situation. Or was he hitting on her, she had tried to block knowing that since Remington died. Knesos had pretty much swore off dating since her boyfriend was killed. She didn't want to go through another loss again.

"Im the one asking the questions here, hunter"

Knesos replied narrowing her eyes at the wink the green skinned man gave. He is flirting with me The Lieutenant Colonel thought as she straightened herself and folded her arms across her chest.

"Now answer the question. Who were you after?"

Seria said trying to mask the frustration in her voice. She had never had this much trouble getting information out of someone. Though she knew this day was going to come.

There it was, her crack, barely perceivable but there. It must be hurt in the emotions and she worked hard to ignore or act like it didn't exist. Kaz's conscience began to weigh on him, not that he had anything to do with her hurt, but his goal was to help the innocent and from what he could see from her body language whatever had happened was not her fault and if it could break her intelligence training it hurt her bad.

Touching the force Kaz tried to touch her with it, attempting to ease her turmoil. "Tell me what happened dear one, who was he?" He had forgotten that he was being interrogated himself,instead he was intently focused on her suffering and how he could ease them.

She had stood there staring at Kaz for a few moments while attempting to get him to answer a single question. Seria had trained for this, but she hadn't trained for interrogating someone that used the force.

"What I'd say. Im the one asking the questions. Not you, now why were you sneaking into the Senate?"

The Lieutenant Colonel said with a little anger and frustration in her voice. The man was really getting to her. Dodging every question she threw at him. It was like Kaz was toying with Seria and he was getting joy out of it. But as she thought it over. The tone in his voice sounded genuinely concerned. Ok, what's going on here she thought as she walked to the window and looked out at the speeders going by.

Kaz kept his demeanor calm and relaxed as she launched into her miniature tirade, her emotional outburst hit him through the Force as frustration rolled off of her in waves. He watched as she turned towards the window, watched her lithe frame each step as delicate as a dancers filled with strength and grace. Her hips swayed in that undeniably feminine way that stole men's hearts. A moment longer he let his gaze linger.

"You are asking questions, though are you sure they are the right ones?"Kaz asked trying to keep his tone even as he gave a cryptic and enigmatic response. " I would wager in another setting my questions would be the ones you were paying attention to."

Kaz remained seated but turned his eyes up to where hers would be when she turned around a look of genuine concern upon his face and in his eyes. Once more Kaz asked Seria "Who was he? What has happened?"

Seria stared out the window for a few more minutes before turning around. She could tell ny the tone in the mans voice he was concerned about her. But why? Was she asking the right questions? She just assumed that Kaz was caught sneaking into the Senate he was going to a Senator. Thought she thought and just to stop his constant bombardment of the same question she would answer it.

"He you are revering to was my boyfriend. He was killed in a confict with the Sith Empire about eight years ago."

The woman said as she moved over and sat in the seat she had began in at the start. He tone was now solemn and subdued. She wasn't that feisty beast when she walked in she had turned a complete 180 and was not going to approach it from a different angle.

"Since I answered your question. You gonna answer mine?"

She had calmed somewhat, she wasn't radiating the same frustrations anymore, in fact Kaz would almost have thought that she had given up on interrogating him, and then she still asked for his answer, ever the intelligence officer even when breaking she wouldn't give up, like a Kath hound scenting blood.

"In time I will answer any question you put to me." Kaz said, rather enigmatically, though he let a warm smile hint at the corners of his mouth and in his dark eyes. "But," He continued in his prying"you only gave me facts, you didn't tell me who he was to you, or what happened to you, when he died." Kaz emphasized on the 'to you' in his speach just enough to let her know he was asking about her.

Kaz attempted to lock eyes with the small female sitting across from him, the table dividing them by just a few feet though they could have been centuries apart for all the good it was it was seeming to do. He wished to caress her her cheek softly, tenderly with his finger, a kinetic sign to let her know she was not alone, and others did care.

Seria peered across the table at the man as he smiled. It was hard to contain the smile that was building. She had to admit that the man was kinda charming. But he was in custody for a crime, thought she would indulge him a little.

"He was everything to me. When he died it crushed me. Though with friends and family I got through it."

Seria felt a little better opening up about Remingtons death. She had been holding onto it for almost nine years. She looked down at her hands and waited for Kaz to speak. She needed him to say something the pressure was killing her the silence was unbearable.

Kaz listened to her opening up about her lovers death. Death was never easy and this one hit her hard. Kaz waited for more and when it was obvious she couldn't say anything more he just nodded, a silent acceptance of her pain and that he'd be willing to carry that burden with her.

Kaz put is hand on the table open, palm up, an invitation or her to place her hand in his, to take strength from him and let go of some of her grief.

"I am here for you." Kaz stated plainy not pushing anymore, letting her open up on her own. 'For a plant to grow,' Tzor would tell him 'you must let it blossom' and that's what he was doing, letting Seria take control of what she would tell him of her own accord.
