Species Name: Aluresh
Species Type: Reptilian Humanoid
Planet of Origin: Novalis Nexus
Average Maximum age: 500 years (when off their homeworld, they only live 250 years)
Age of Maturation: 40 years
Average Height: 5’8” for females, 5’11” for males
Average Weight: 190 lbs for females, 210 lbs for males
instead of hair, the Aluresh have long, downy feathers growing from their heads. The color of these feathers is never set, since they can willingly change the color of the feathers, but they must have seen the color first. The length of the feathers depends on the caste the Aluresh individual is from.
the eyes of the Aluresh are dependent on what caste they were born from. An Aluresh that has parents from two different castes will result in it having both caste colors, usually the mother’s color in the right eye, and the father’s color in the left. No matter what caste or individual you look at, every Aluresh has pupils that are slits. A blind Aluresh’s eyes are a black color, with the pupils being that of their original color.
The males are taller, more muscled, larger wings and larger horns. The females are shorter, more lithe-like in their bodies, smaller wings then the males, and their horns are less menacing then the males.
A majority of an Aluresh’s body is covered in smooth, sturdy scales. These scales grow in a way that they overlap over each other slightly, making them seem like one clean layer of scale-skin from a slight distance. The only areas that don’t have scales growing on their bodies are on their face, their front (reaching from their collarbones down their chest, their stomach, past the pelvic area, and ending at near the end of their tails) the palms of their hands and the bottom of their feet, but instead is a leather-like skin. The color of the Aluresh are numerous, and are decided among many factors, some of them are the time of year, their birth caste, and their parents. Their arms are humanoid in design, with smaller scales covering the upper portion of the arm. The hands of the Aluresh are made up of three fingers and a thumb, with each digit being claw-tipped. Their legs are digitigrade designed and covered in smaller scales, with the upper leg being a little bigger then the lower leg. Like all creature that have digitigrade limbs, the Aluresh walk on the tips of their feet, where they have three digits in front, and one in the back, with each digit being claw-tipped. The facial features of the Aluresh are similar to that of dragons, having an elongated mouth, frills running along the jawline, and a ridged forehead, which their feathery hair begins to grow behind it. The horns of the Aluresh varies incredibly, with each individual having a different style, except for the two small horns that grow right beside their eyes. The wings that grow from their backs are easily able to allow them to fly, and are sturdier then most avian-type creatures, with the wing-arms being quite muscled, but the membrane is still as weak. Able to easily act as another set of arms, the wings have a set of three talons, able to work properly even in flight. Connecting to their tailbone, the Aluresh have a lithe tail, helping them to retain their balance when walking, running, or any other activity.
Because of living in the perpetual twilight of their homeworld, the Aluresh have weak eyesight, relying on special goggles when leaving their howeworld. They also have a limited natural regeneration, allowing them to heal wounds quicker then normal, but not severed limbs or severe wounds, like severe burns, gaping wounds, and destroyed organs. Aluresh have a natural resistance to natural disease, but have an extreme weakness to synthetic viruses, since their homeworld has never encountered any synthetically made virus, disease, or poison, they have never built a resistance. Along with natural growth, males are stronger, but have a dulled speed, while the females lack the strength of the males, but make up for it in their flexibility, speed, and precision. Because of the large concentration of the Force that assisted in the remaking of Novalis Nexus, the Aluresh are all force sensitive, and as a whole, have been able to understand its more basic forms, both dark and light.

Aluresh that learn Basic tend to still use words of Vs’shtak in their sentences, mostly for words of meaning, like emotions, and descriptions.
Because of the limited resources of reading materials, by the age of 12, Aluresh have a below average reading skill. Though this would have been problematic to some races, the Aluresh have had little to no problems because of it.
Because of their history in helping survivors who crashed on Novalis Nexus, the Aluresh are welcoming to newcomers. With every new survivor they add to their society, they grow curious as what the newcomers know. Some would think that because of the isolation of Novalis Nexus, this would make the Aluresh lean more towards being xenophobic. This is far from the truth. They are quite interested in what is beyond the skies of their planet.
Though the society of the Aluresh is of a caste-based design, each caste holds the same respect and power within each of the communities of the planet fragments. No matter what happens, every caste takes care of each other, while as a whole taking care of the balance of themselves and the environment around them. The one of the few times that the Aluresh as a whole turn to anger and power is when the native magma worms begin to move into the plains, which cause massive fires.
The Aluresh’s Farm caste is the ones who handle the agriculture duties, from tending the harvest and livestock, to gathering food and herbs from the forests. Because of the particular lack of noticeable rivers, the Farm caste has developed skills of finding water and easily drawing it to the surface. Because of each planet fragment’s different landscapes, each fragment’s Farm caste has slight alterations to their duties and methods, but is mostly the same.
Though the surface of the Aluresh looks like they are technology-declined, they in fact have special castes that work within facilities that house the tech they salvage from crashed ships. These facilities are located beneath the largest planet fragment, where a zone is located that is free from the turbulent energy of the core. These special castes are made up of members of all of the other castes, and even though they come from different castes, they set this difference aside when they are within these castes. The technology that is built or used within these facilities is mainly examined, and only on rare occasions does this tech actually be used.
because of the lack of vehicles, the Aluresh mainly walk. Along with walking, they also fly, but refrain from using this method when near the edges of the planet fragments, for the air currents are sometimes too turbulent for their wings.
the community of the Aluresh is that of a caste system. With each caste working a particular purpose within the community, the whole of the Aluresh moves along with a calm smooth pace. Unlike other known caste races, each of the castes of the Aluresh are equal, and hold the same rank and power with the community with each other.
Maekrix caste:
this caste are the elders of the Aluresh. Their purpose is to keep the community running smoothly, settle disputes, keep contact with the other planet fragment communities, organize events, and guide the Aluresh through hard times. Members of this caste have long feather hair that reaches down to their ankles. They also have grey eyes, like that of blindness in most races.
Psyche caste:
this caste are the teachers of the Aluresh. Their purpose is to teach the younger Aluresh to read, write, and other things. They are also the Mental Healers of the Aluresh, helping those that have gone through traumatic events. Members of this caste have long feather hair that reaches down to about knee height. They also have pink eyes, which in just the right light, can seem to have a twinkle in it.
Medi caste:
this caste are the healers of the Aluresh. Their purpose is to mend the sick, tend the wounded, and to make sure the community is healthy and taken care. Members of this caste have long feather hair that reaches down to about mid-thigh. They also have light blue eyes, like looking at a clear sky.
Volca caste:
this caste are the crafts people of the Aluresh. Their purpose is to craft the tools of the other castes, to work the Volcano Forges, and to protect the communities from the occasional lava flow. Because of their work in the volcanoes, they have slightly better eyesight then the rest of the Aluresh, but not much. Along with their eyesight, they also have slightly harder scales, offering better protection. Members of this caste have short feather hair, ending at the base of their necks. They also have reddish-orange eyes, that seem to mimic the flow of the lava within their forges.
Farm caste:
this caste are the farmers of the Aluresh. Their purpose is to grow and harvest plants and food in the plains, harvest herbs and food from the forests, and to tend to the livestock. Members of this caste have long feather hair that ends at the beginning of their thighs. They also have brown eyes, similar to the earth they plant they harvests.
Harroc caste:
this caste are the hunters of the Aluresh. Their purpose is to hunt for food, are the messengers between the planet fragments, and during the incursions of the Magma Worms, are the ranged offense against them. Members of this caste have feather hair that reaches down to just above their waists. They also have green eyes, like the summer leaves of the forests.
Arytiss caste:
this caste are the warriors of the Aluresh. Their purpose is to defend the communities, to safe guard the other castes, and to fight off dangers to the Aluresh. This caste has traits that aren’t evident in the others, like when they fight, they can unconsciously use their Force sensitivity to enhance their weapons, making them cutting deeper, smash harder, and to almost move the air around the weapon. They have duded this the Berserker Sense, since the power behind these attacks might as well be of a berserker. Members of this caste have feather hair that reaches down to a few inches above their waist. They also have purple eyes, like the brightest Iris.
Elbakiw caste:
this caste is responsible for studying and learning about the technology that they salvage from the ships that crash on Novalis Nexus. They are also tasked with keeping the effects of aging from taking the technology too quickly. Those that work within this caste begin to develop a yellowish color to the edges of their eyes.
Vehafor caste:
this caste is made up of the best crafts people of the Aluresh, and are tasked with creating and building vehicles, items, and structures from the mass amounts of metals, and the mass reservoirs of cortosis. Using the core of Novalis Nexus to melt down the cortosis, the Aluresh have been able to add small amounts of cortosis to each of their creations, making them able to endure quite a amount of damage. During the time this caste has been around, there have been many so-call ‘failures’, which have created the unique weapons and starships, and they have stationed these ‘failures’ within a ‘free zone’ located under the planet fragment that would be considered the north pole. Those that have worked in this caste begin to develop a whitish color to the edges of their eyes.
While the origins of the Aluresh are unknown to the threads of time, what is known is that they were always on the twin planets of Novalis Nexus. Surviving the wilds of their twin planets in large packs, the Aluresh were animalistic and they were more animal-like. Knowing nothing beyond the basic animal instincts they had, they survived for thousands of years, battling against the trials their home threw at them. While evolving slower then normally, the Aluresh had reached sentience when the sun that had flourished the twin planets reached the end of its life. As the sun released its energy as it began to go nova, the twin planets of Novalis Nexus began to shatter at the fault lines. When the time came for the sun to die, the Aluresh looked to the sky on the shattering twin worlds, as the sun was filled with the light of the death of the sun.
While this cataclysm should have destroyed the twin planets and the Aluresh, something had a different plan. As the surviving Aluresh experienced a rapid and extremely progressive evolutionary development, the twin planets of Novalis Nexus began to merge, the magnetic force of the cores making them fuse together and with the combined strength, began to draw the largest fragments of the twin planets into a stationary orbit-like position. Over the next hundred years, the evolution of the Aluresh took place and the finishing stabilization of Novalis Nexus. As the dimmest of light returned to the surface, the Aluresh looked upon themselves for the first time fully, having reached full sentience.
As the pockets of Aluresh across the planet fragments gathered, they began to create primitive communities on each of the planet fragments, unknown to the other pockets across the entirety of Novalis Nexus. While these communities thrived on each of the planet fragments for several hundred years, they restricted their exploration near the edges of the fragments, fearful for what laid beyond. Remaining oblivious of each other across Novalis Nexus, this soon changed for the communities when a strange object fell from the heavens.
As the strange metal object crashed on the largest planet fragment, the Aluresh who had seen the strange thing braved the edges of the fragments, journeying to the crashed object. After traveling a long distance, the Aluresh soon converged on the object, finally encountering each other for the first time since the cataclysm. While surprised to find that there were more of the Aluresh, they quickly turned their attention on the object, a large metal object, the likes they had never seen before. Finding survivors within the object, they used their primitive yet efficient skills to nurse the beings to health. Being a non-religious and a non-superstitious people, the Aluresh wanted to learn what these ‘visitors’ knew. Welcoming the newcomers with open arms, the ones who had journeyed to the object learned from the beings, then a group of Aluresh brought them to their nearest settlement, as the rest of Aluresh returned to their own settlements. As these ‘visitors’ integrated in the society of the Aluresh, the discovery of other Aluresh across Novalis Nexus began an age of unification and discovery.
As the Aluresh finally became one community spread across the planet fragments, they began to develop castes to create a simpler way to live life, thanks to the knowledge of the first ‘visitors’ and from the knowledge that was contained with their vessel. From that knowledge, they began to grow their techniques, expanding on the discoveries that were found. Not even a hundred years in the age, they began to discover their ability to use the Force, as it began to develop within their race. During this age, with each new group of ‘visitors’ that crash on Novalis Nexus, the more the Aluresh began to know of many things, and of what the outside of their planet was like. This continued for close to six hundred years, as the Aluresh discovered more of themselves and of their home, and of advancing their living. The age would soon come to an end when an event happened that would spark the new age.
As the newest ‘visitors’ broke the sky of Novalis Nexus, the Aluresh were shocked at the size of the vessel, as it made contact and landed somewhat smoothly on the planet fragment that had been the place of the first contact for the Aluresh. While at first cautious when they investigated the strange vessel, they soon found that they had nothing to fear, as they assisted the ‘visitors’. Being intrigued by the new vessel, they soon were learning even more then what they were learning from the previous ‘visitors’. As they learned everything they could and accepted the new ‘visitors’ into their society, the age of advancement began in a flash.
For six hundred years, the Aluresh evolved their society into a prosperous civilization, using the technology from the relics of the vessels of the past ‘visitors’, they began to study, learn and create small machines, not wanting to ruin their role with helping nature. During this time, the Aluresh soon discovered the massive reserves of cortosis within the stone of the planet fragments, which the newly created Volca caste found little problem in being able to gather. Learning from the massive vessel that started the age, they began to create a facility under the largest planet fragment, to isolate any harm from the rest of the Aluresh. Within these facilities, two special castes were made to look after and study the technology, and to create special ideas. Creating unique things, some of the more dangerous creations were dubbed as failures, since they would prove to be great advancements for exploration; they were also carriers of unexpected weapons, made from plans of the very vessel that started the age, with alterations to unknown features.
As the thrill of advancement passed and the age came to an end, the civilization of the Aluresh began to turn to a calm, content path. Slowing to a light pace, the advancement of the Aluresh seemed like a distant whisper, as they lived their lives content with peace and prosperity. While not rushing advancement, they do continue to wonder, what may lie beyond their skies.
