Appearance: Horus is a male Human in his early forties that has a bit more of a rugged and rough appearance that would fit the description of a ruffian or fringer than a Jedi. His face is lean and has a sort of ‘sharp’ appearance to it and a prickly five o’ clock shadow type of facial hair with it. His hair is pitch black and is slicked back to mostly keep his bangs out of his face, but on some occasions it is uncombed or unmanaged and his hair falls down across his forehead. His upper body is rather muscular and toned from years of rigorous training and skill honing, although you wouldn’t notice it when he’s wearing robes or other sorts of covering attire. The color of his eyes is a dull blue, which some of his past female allies and friends outside of the Jedi Order have been quoted to saying, “It’s his most attractive feature.” Not to say Horus isn’t all that attractive, he’s a man of modest looks and usually tries to keep himself presentable.
Now, Horus’ wardrobe features not many outfits for him to wear, but his most common attire is his Jedi robes. Unlike the dark brown robes most Jedi wear, Horus has taken a liking to a darker robe made of a dark grey cloth which fits to his body well and allows for added maneuverability in combat. Underneath his robe he wears a black linen shirt and a pair of dark grey pants. Along with his robe are a pair of black leather gloves which ride up halfway to his elbow and a pair of shin high black leather boots, which he tucks his pants into the boots. Across his waist he wears a large black belt with a series of white pouches running across them, which hold an assortment of various items, such as a holocommunication and a couple hundred credits in case he needs them. His other set of clothes are his casual/civilian clothes, which is basically just a brown leather coat with a white undershirt, dark grey pants and a pair of brown boots and a brown leather belt.
Personality: Horus is a bit of a loner, preferring to do things by himself and doesn’t accept the aid of others unless he absolutely needs it. Although, it wasn’t always like this, during his late-thirties he had a more outgoing and social outlook, but the death of his ex-apprentice turned Jedi Knight took a big toll on Horus, and he refrained from getting anyone else mixed up in his affairs. However, just because he is a loner doesn’t mean he’s spiteful or rude towards others. He has a very friendly and kind demeanor hidden behind the shield of his isolationist shell, and still talks to a few of his friends in the Order and out of the Order, although he keeps the conversations short and to the point. Secretly he still grieves over the loss of his ex-apprentice and son-like figure, Rogal Khan, which has planted a seed of doubt in Horus about his ability to protect the people he considers family, which has led to his loner-type lifestyle.

Bio:
The Youngling Years
<3642 - 3632>
Horus was born on the lush planet of Naboo in 3642 BBY and grew up in the household of relatively wealthy nobles. At the age of four a pair of Jedi Watchman arrived at the Sejanus household declaring that they felt the force residing within' young Horus and requested that they take the child to the Jedi Temple on Dantooine to train him to become a Jedi. At first the parents were reluctant to hand over their only child, but the father realized what an honor this would bestow on the family that their child would become a powerful Jedi, that he convinced his wife to allow the Watchmen to take Horus to Dantooine. Leaving Naboo behind, the Jedi took Horus to Dantooine, where he enrolled in the Jedi Temple and was cycled into a youngling class under the teachings of the female Ithorian Jedi Master, Khodi Nabo.<3642 - 3632>
As the days turned into weeks, and those weeks turned into months and those months turned into years, Horus grew fond of his classmates and his instructor, gathering many friends, one of which was a male Chistori padawan by the name of Drazden Krak, who was twelve years older than the now six year old Horus and became something of an older brother to him. During his time in the youngling classes, Horus learned history, math, science, swordsmanship and how to master the force. Horus found that he was more secure and at home with his training saber than anything else while some of his fellow younglings found their callings in the force, their sabers like him, or were favored a bit of both.
By the age of eight Horus had surrounded himself with a small posse of friends of all different species and genders. Some of his friends included the Chistori, Drazdan Krak, a female Twi'lek named Rew Isfa and a male Bothan named Borlov Quer'fa. Together they formed a seemingly unbreakable bond which would last throughout the rest of their youngling years before they were of age to be chosen to be a Master's padawan. By the time Horus was of age to be chosen, he was rather liked by many of his peers and after just a year later he was presented to the Bothan Jedi Master, Syk Alburos, a respected and well beloved Master who declared that Horus would be his apprentice and would learn from him the ways of the Jedi. Horus was excited to become an apprentice of such a well known Master. Horus said his goodbyes to his friends and instructors before he was taken by Syk to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to continue his training there.
Apprenticeship
<3632 - 3620>
Now at the age of eleven, Horus would continue his training in the art of Shii-cho, the most basic of all saber forms and essential for the training of other, more complicated forms. With this training he also learned more and more of how to harness the force to increase his bodily strength, run faster using the force to augment himself, and how to lift, pull, and push various objects of different shapes and sizes. Like as was his previous training, he was more proficient with a saber than with the force, although he did have an affinity for telekinetic force rather than telepathic force, something that Master Syk kept tabs on. It wouldn't be long before Syk took Horus on his first diplomatic mission to Cato Neimoidia to further patch relationships between the Neimoidians and the Republic after a slight falling out.<3632 - 3620>
During the trip to Cata Neimoidia, Syk stressed that Horus was not to take action in any of the future events that would come about on the planet, he was only there to observe and learn. Horus promised his Master he wouldn't interfere, even though he felt a bit slighted that he wouldn't be able to help. As they exited hyperspace and entered the atmosphere of Cato Neimoidia, Horus' excitement grew and grew as the capital of the planet, the bridge-city of Zarra, came into view. He had never been on any other planet except for Dantooine and Naboo where he grew up, but his memories of Naboo were extremely fuzzy and distant. Syk's ship moved towards one of the larger landing pads and settled down nimbly on it's metal surface and with a hiss the landing ramp extended from the ship and Syk and Horus descended down the ramp.
They were met by Senator Val Lott, who welcomed them graciously and led them into the main building of government to conduct business. Horus marveled at the illustrious artwork and architecture of the city as Senator Lott led them to his office and Horus nearly got lost gawking at everything, but quickly filed back behind his master as they reached the building. During the conference with Syk and Senator Lott, Horus remained quiet at his master's side, listening intently for the first few minutes. However as the conference dragged on his mind began to wander and he lost focus and started to become impatient. Quickly after the meeting came to an end, which in fact was a success on the Jedi's part, and Cato Neimoidia was on it's way to getting back on good terms with the Republic.
Back on the ship, Syk chastised Horus on his lack of patience during the conference, explaining that one of the most crucial parts of being a Jedi was patience and attention to detail, especially in battle. Horus felt a bit ashamed that he had to be lectured on something that seemed so trivial, but he took it to heart because he knew what his master was saying was the truth. When they returned to Coruscant they continued Horus' training as he lapsed over his thirteenth birthday and Syk began to teach the young Horus the most basic fundamentals of Ataru. Ataru is a very mobile form which required much physical fitness from the user, which Horus at this time sorely lacked, but his Master quickly began to work him into shape much to Horus' dread.
The physical fitness training was rather torturous on Horus, and each day left him utterly exhausted to the point that he instantly passed out when he reached his bed. As the days went on, it progressively got easier and easier until his training came to a short stop so Horus could accompany his master on another diplomatic mission to Eriadu, out in the Outer Rim Territories. This was the second mission he accompanied with his master, but Syk had gone on many other missions without his padawan simply because bringing an unarmed and inexperienced minor was simply a liability and would and could hinder the mission. So going on a mission with his master was a extremely special mission to Horus, and he cherished every moment of it.
The duo traveled to Eriadu to help settle a dispute between two wealthy families before a civil war could erupt and tear the planet apart. As they landed and made their way into the capital, Eriadu City, and Horus noticed a very very strange sight, the native people of Eriadu. The men all wore turbans and many of them had thick beards while nearly all of the woman were covered up, obscuring their faces from view. This came as extremely strange to Horus, who had never seen this type of social behavior or garb before in his entire life. He was given some odd looks for his constant staring, so he diverted his attention elsewhere instead of gawking at the attire of the local people.
They met with one of the families, represented by the Baron Ji'had Abdullah, who was in a bitter rivalry against the Rahmad family. Halfway through the first part of the briefing with Ji'had, the building the meeting was taking place in was attacked by Rahmad insurgents who attempted to take out Ji'had and the Jedi diplomats. One of the blaster bolts hit Horus in the shoulder, which incapacitated him for the entire ordeal while his master defended him and Ji'had from the ambush. Afterwards Ji'had demanded the Republic come in and aid them in removing the Rahmad family from power, which Syk was absolutely objected to and would rather find a path of peace between the two families. Ji'had raged about how there could never be peace between the two, and that if the Republic did not intervene on the Abdullah's behalf, then a civil war would happen.
Syk was torn between the two decisions stayed true to his ideals of peace between the two families, and left Eriadu with Horus before they could get caught up in anymore conflicts. It wouldn't be till nearly a decade in the half in the future before the Abdullah family would wrench all control from the Rahmad family thanks to the efforts of Ji'had the Second and Ji'had the Third, Ji'had's first and second born sons. Horus and his master returned to Coruscant with the new concerning Eriadu, which sent spikes of concern throughout the senate and the Jedi Order, but the Order firmly stuck with Syk's decision of not getting involved with the conflict despite the senate's objections. Horus learned much of how to handle difficult and volatile situations, a trait that he would carry for years to come.
Horus' training continued as he turned fourteen and his master decided it was a perfect opportunity to create his first lightsaber. So Syk took Horus deep into the Outer Rim to the frozen world of Ilum, which housed a massive cavern system filled with lightsaber crystals of various colorations, mostly blue and green, but it did house others. They landed on Ilum and Syk guided Horus to the crystal cave and informed Horus that he must travel inside by himself and let the force guide him to his chosen crystal. Horus entered the cavern alone and let himself become surrounded by the force as it led him deeper and deeper into the cave, until he stopped in front of a outcropping of crystals. After observing the crystal formation, he plucked a diamond shaped yellow crystal from the formation and returned to Syk, who congratulated him for finding the crystal.
They then returned to their ship and began the long journey back to Coruscant. During this time Horus began to begin the ritual to construct his lightsaber, and when they returned he continued to go through the ritual of creating his own personal saber. After about a month Horus had his very own lightsaber with a bright yellow blade. The hilt mimic'd Syk's own, a sign of respect from the apprentice to the master, and Horus would never let the saber out of his sight. He prized that saber more than anything and he was rather protective of it, which Syk warned against but Horus didn't think any bad could come of priding over a possession made by his own hand. So Horus' training continued as his proficiency in Shii-cho and Ataru steadily improved with every day, and his telekinetic force continued to improve as well.
Horus turned fifteen and continued his rigorous training under Master Syk before embarking on his first solo mission to Saleucami to investigate the murders of the planet's Gran Senator. The most likely suspect was the Skakoan Engineer, Aregus Tremdor, although the Senator's aide, Fruh-ai, a Gossam. Horus met with the planet-wide chief of security, a somewhat xenophobic Korun named Axel Gaxon. On a suggestion by Axel, Horus began his investigation with Fruh-ai, traveling to her estate in the country to see if he could gather any evidence. Although at first he found nothing incriminating, he noticed a few suspicious items in Fruh-ai's bed chambers that indicated that she was the murderer of the Senator, but it wasn't enough to truly convict her. Still, Horus put her under house arrest with aid of Axel and went to investigate Aregus, who lived in the urban area of the Capital City. Before he could question him Horus discovered the Skakoan dead in his own home, died by multiple stab wounds and blunt trauma to the head.
Horus wanted an autopsy done on the body as he continued to investigate further and further into the case, finding some incriminating evidence that pointed not to Fruh-tai or even the late Aregus. It instead pointed to Axel, the security chief himself, who during the confrontation attempted to murder Horus to escape, but Horus used his Jedi training to subdue Axel as the rest of the security arrived to apprehend Axel after Horus forced a confession from him. Syk arrived on Saleucami to congratulate Horus for his first successful solo mission and informed Horus that they were both to return to the Jedi Temple to continue Horus' training for the good portion of a year and a half. During this period Horus would continue to run short errands for his Master on a couple of systems in the Inner and Mid Rim, nothing big or overly dangerous, but nonetheless important.
Now nearly seventeen, Horus' training was coming along better than Syk could of hoped for. His grasp of the saber forms was rather phenomenal, and with each passing month Syk only grew more and more proud of his Padawan becoming such a righteous Jedi and knew without a shadow of a doubt that he would pass his trials in the not so far future. However, in these coming years Horus would embark on a mission with his Master to Subterrel to subdue a dangerous Bounty Hunter who had killed an entire diplomatic team, including a Jedi Knight and two Padawans in addition to the civilians.
The mission would be relatively dangerous thanks to the subterranean environment of the planet. They'd have to traverse the underground cities to search for the Bounty Hunter and their search was aided by the planet's government security forces who had a couple of leads on the Bounty Hunter who Horus and his master were hunting. The description of the Hunter was only down to race and gender, a female Falleen. So, with this information the Jedi set out a city-wide search for any traces of the Bounty Hunter before she attacked Horus in a out of the way cantina and nearly killed him if it wasn't for the timely arrival of Syk, who managed to literally disarm the Bounty Hunter before she managed to escape with her life thanks to a combination of smoke bombs and quick thinking.
Sadly not long after the Jedi found the Bounty Hunter, dead thanks to a lethal run in with a squad of Police enforcers near some of the larger mines. The injuries Horus suffered from the encounter were two broken ribs, a couple of bruises and a fractured arm, but nothing life-threatening. Once they returned to the Jedi Temple Horus began his rejuvenation from his injuries, but soon he was back to training with his Master.
At the age of nineteen Horus once again embarked on a solo mission to Ord Mantell to rescue a group of civilians being held hostage by a gang who threatened to kill them all if a ransom wasn't payed within a 48-hour period. Luckily Horus managed to discovered the gang's hideout and save most of the hostages before the Gang's desperate leader attacked Horus out of nowhere, gaining the upper hand long enough to put a blaster bolt through Horus' side. Horus didn't give up however, and continued to attack the Gang leader before the leader, in a desperate attempt to take everyone with him, activated an explosive on his body to kill everyone in the room.
Horus selfishly used the force and his body to shield the hostages from the blase, but was left scarred and seriously injured afterwards. Much of his torso and left arm had been scorched by the explosion, causing a horrible and agonizingly painful experience for Horus who slipped into unconsciousness from the shock of his injuries. He awoke nearly a day later on a Medical ship heading back to Coruscant, his master at his side as he recovered. Syk informed Horus that he had shown a great act of self-sacrifice and courage braving that explosion to save he lives of innocent civilians. Horus was glad he had saved those lives, but was disappointed he'd have to be bed-ridden for a fortnight before he could continue his training, but he accepted the wait with patience. Soon after he was all patched up and ready to continue his training all the way up to the time he was prepared to take his Jedi Trials to become a Jedi Knight.
The Trials
<3620>
Now at the ripe age of twenty-one, Horus was ready to take the daring difficulties of the Jedi Trials. Horus was informed that his trials would be simulated within the Jedi Temple on Dantooine, not Coruscant. Horus preferred Dantooine over Coruscant because it's where he first began to learn the ways of the Jedi, and held more sentiment in the grassy plains of Dantooine than the lifeless durasteel crust of Coruscant. So, Horus traveled to Dantooine with his master and a couple other prominent Jedi masters to begin his trials, and the first test he would begin was the infamous Trial of Skill. He would go up against Horus' own master, Syk, in a duel with training sabers to decide if Horus was skilled enough to become a Jedi Knight or not. Horus and Syk took up their training sabers and stood on opposite sides of one of the many training rooms in the enclave and gathered themselves for the upcoming battle.<3620>
Horus made the first move, eager to prove himself against his master, and switched to the form of Ataru. Leaping across the room to engage Syk, Horus was pleasantly met by Syk's own saber, whom had a greater understanding of Ataru, but decided not to hold back because he wanted to see all that his apprentice had to offer him. Syk retaliated with a series of quick strikes bent to disrupt Horus' field of defense, and managed to push the young apprentice back. Horus went on the defensive and waited for his Master, who continued the devastating flurry of his saber in Ataru. Horus was forced into a position of complete defense, having to use Shii-cho to defend against the Ataru onslaught, before he managed to switch on the offensive and even surprise his own master.
Horus slid out of the corner he was being pushed into and attacked Syk with Ataru in earnest. Truly wanting to show his master his training was not a complete waste of time and effort and the will to show that he could be a Jedi Knight pushed him on in his attack. Finally the Trial was drawn to a close, with an exhausted Horus left panting as the Master gathered together to give their opinions and decide the fate of Horus on the matter of the Trial of Skill. They returned to Horus and informed him that he had passed his trial, showing that he was well versed in the art of lightsaber combat at this level that he could hold his own, as well as maintain a defense and offense. Horus was humbled by the master's decision and was even more pleased to learn that he actually had to partake in one more trial, the Trial of the Spirit. Horus questioned why he didn't have to take the Trial of Flesh and Trial of Courage, and the Masters informed him he already had years ago.
By braving the explosion and enduring the pain that came afterwards, he had proved to his master and the others that those would not be required to be retaken. He had already proved himself in those fields and only needed to look within himself and take the final trial, which would force him to look into his very soul. For this trial he was taken to a peaceful grove not far from the Jedi Enclave to meditate on his inner self to do what, Horus didn't know. perhaps to find a vision or see into one's self, he was willing to try it. He was so close now, he couldn't give up now.
Under the supervision of Syk, Horus assumed a cross-legged position on a stone in the middle of the peaceful grove, and meditated. He sat there for what seemed like an eternity before a sensation suddenly assaulted his mind, sending him spiraling into images and visions that displayed his deepest weaknesses and inner flaws that sent Horus mind staggering before another vision came. The vision was from a first person standpoint, although he couldn't tell if it was himself or another, but what he could see is that whoever it was, was standing over a corpse. The corpse was of a male Mon Calamari in or around his early twenties and as the vision went on the figure Horus was seeing through the eyes of let his head fall back and let forth a silent roar of pain and suffering.
Suddenly Horus was thrust back into reality as Syk helped awake him, and Horus explained the vision he had along with the weaknesses of himself he discovered, one being the fear of failure. Syk explained that this was a natural fear for anyone, but as a Jedi he had to overcome it to truly become a Jedi, and with much thought from Horus he promised to remove this weakness from himself. Finally, with all trials completed, the masters gathered around Horus and formally inducted him as a Jedi Knight. Horus was humbled by his new title and rank, and promised that where ever he went, whatever he did, he would uphold the teachings and code of the Jedi Order. With those words, he returned to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to prepare for the next stage in his life.
Knighthood
<3620 - 3606>
Now a true knight of the Jedi Order, Horus was allowed to borrow a Defender Class Heavy Starfighter for personal traveling and as a place to live during prolonged missions. It was outfitted with powerful shields and two dual-laser turrets to use for self defense when flying. It also had a medbay with a personal medical droid and a training chamber and personal bed chambers. Horus' first mission as a Jedi Knight was to travel to the distant world of Taris to investigate a rumor of a rogue Jedi and see for certain if said rumors were true or not. If they were true, Horus was first instructed to go with negotiations and diplomacy and only use deadly force as a last resort.<3620 - 3606>
Taris was still under construction since the Jedi Civil War over 300 years ago, when it was bombed by the Sith Fleet under the leadership of Darth Malak. The Republic had arrived sometime in the past to begin reconstruction efforts, but the going had been extremely slow with all sorts of problems jumping into it. Rakghouls, Pirates, and now apparently rogue Jedi, Taris' construction could possible be in danger, and the Jedi Order could not allow that to happen. So Horus traveled to Taris, landing on one of the Republic controlled spaceports and met with some of the Republic officials about the rumors and was directed to one of the more remote sectors of Taris to hunt for any clues he could find.
For hours Horus searched, finding nothing of interest except for a few wandering Rakghouls that he quickly dispatched with his lightsaber and the force. He decided that it was probably just a bunch of Rakghouls and was about to return to the spaceport before he was beset by a hooded figure with a lightsaber. The figure leaped from one of the higher perches in the massive ruins and almost cut Horus in two, but Horus managed to feel the assailant's presence and defend with his own saber in time. Then the two engaged in a short, but intense lightsaber fight before Horus was knocked back on his arse, and the figure aiming his saber right at him. However, instead of killing him, as Horus expected, the figure simple did the opposite.
The Figure informed Horus that he had expected them to send a Master after him, or at least a more experienced Knight. He was annoyed and insulted that they would send a newly appointed Knight to deal with him, and Horus retorted with that he was nothing more than rumors, and was not even considered a threat. The figure was deeply disappointed by this and gave Horus a cryptic message before disappearing into the ruins, and Horus could not find him even after another extensive search. Giving up on the hunt, Horus returned to the spaceport and gave his report via holocommunication to the Masters, and explained the situation. The information was given to the Council, who expressed that they would send a more experienced Jedi to deal with this.
Horus traveled to Dantooine to train in the Jedi Enclave there, not under any master of course, but just for himself so he could become stronger. For months he continued delicate and back-breaking drills and exercises to improve his physical self and hone his skills in Ataru, as he had already mastered Shii-cho and decided to expand on his somewhat proficient form of Ataru. During his time of training, Horus noticed a beautiful middle-aged Togruta woman frequently roaming the halls. Horus secretly marveled her beauty while he was training, although didn't pursue a chance to talk to her, for he had his duty and she probably had her own. Plus, it wasn't the Jedi way to lust over anyone. A few months elapsed over into another year, Horus was now twenty-three and ready to continue his adventures into the galaxy and traveled to Coruscant to get another assignment from the Council.
They sent Horus to Onderon to quell a growing band of rioters who's latest protest turned to bloodshed after they were goaded on by masked warriors. Horus met with the Onderon Royal Family on this matter and spent weeks studying the protesters and watching for any sign of these 'masked warriors'. However none showed up initially, as if aware of the presence of a Jedi among the populace and finally struck out during one protest. They planted a large explosive in the square the protest was going on in, and detonated it in an attempt to kill Horus, but only ended up killing dozens of civilians and law enforcement officials. The warriors attacked Horus, who activated his lightsaber and deflected a couple of blaster bolts before going on the offensive, and severing one of the warrior's arms right at the elbow. The other tried to run, but was stopped when Horus flung a large piece of rock from the explosion right at his legs, nearly breaking one and effectively stopping his retreat.
Before the enforcement officials could detain any of the warriors, they popped poisonous pills and committed suicide. Perplexed by how far the warriors would go to keep themselves a secret, Horus debated that there may be more than just those two warriors, and brought up the idea of a sweep of the surrounding jungles and plains for anymore signs of such warriors. The adviser to the Royal family was one of few who openly rejected this idea, but the tide was against them and the search was green-lighted with Horus leading one of the search groups. Horus' group came immediately under attack from the Mercenary group, whom had a speeder skiff with a mounted laser-cannon. Horus and the men scattered as a hailstorm of blaster bolts rained down upon them. Horus managed to deflect some of the bolts with quickly swipes of his blade, but none of them were sent directly back at the shooters, but they were directed away from him and the others.
The other assailants opened fire with a variety of weapons, from blaster rifles to Portable Rocket Launchers, that blew apart the swamp in massive explosions, forcing Horus to bob and weave hectically around to avoid being blown to smithereens. Suddenly the volley of bolts stopped as the large cannon on the skiff malfunctioned, allowing for Horus to use the force to augment his speed to quickly get onto the skiff, literally disarm two of the mercs and send his lightsaber through the cannon, effectively destroying it. The remaining three mercs teamed up and opened fire on the Knight, hitting Horus in the upper thigh with a bolt, forcing him to retreat off of the skiff. The assailants decided it was better to run and live another day, so they threw off their wounded and sped off into the distance as reinforcements came to aid Horus.
