"Those," Kira confirmed with a nod. "It's mostly going to places like the Senate, but sometimes there are too many new Younglings on Coruscant, so we have to ferry a few over to Mustafar, or Ilum, or Tython. I usually go with them, because the Masters can't afford to leave a class."
It was important for the Youngling Instructors to remain teaching, but for Kira it wasn't so vital. She was just a Knight, a roving assistant who went from class to class and helped as needed. She could be spared for the more trivial assignments.
Still, she didn't mind. It was nice to be able to visit other Jedi locations. Ilum in particular was pleasant, with snow and ice, delightfully chilly. Kira also had good memories of it, as it was where she'd assembled the green lightsaber that rested upon her hip.
It was simple. Just a silver tube, single blade and single phase, but it was her lightsaber, and she'd only ever used it once outside of training. Whenever she was in the Temple she had it on a training setting, because why would anyone need it otherwise? She only ever adjusted it when she left the Temple, which wasn't often.
"I don't mind though," Kira said cheerfully. "I like travelling and getting out of the Temple now and then. Don't you?"

"Those," She began, "It's mostly going to places like the Senate, but sometimes there are too many new Younglings on Coruscant, so we have to ferry a few over to Mustafar, or Ilum, or Tython. I usually go with them, because the Masters can't afford to leave a class." She seemed to be having good memories of some of the places she had been to.
She began again after a seveal seconds, "I don't mind though, I like travelling and getting out of the Temple now and then. Don't you?" Dan nodded, Getting a different view of the galaxy is good! Dan said still remembering how he had enjoyed the other worlds he had visited. What's your favorite part of visiting other worlds? Dan asked Kira.

"Hmmmmm," Kira said, tapping her lips with the pencil once more.
It was a hard question to be sure. There was a great deal she liked about travelling, and it was hard to pick just one thing to focus on. Sometimes the Tholothian Jedi wasn't very good at making decisions. She was decisive when it counted, but rarely at other times.
She liked the excitement. But she also liked eating unusual food, and meeting new people. And there was new weather, and seeing new architecture. It was all pretty interesting actually.
"Well, I don't know if I can pick any one thing," Kira said apologetically. "Maybe the chance to see other cultures. Hear their music, eat their food. It's nice to try something a little different. Not all Jedi are that interested in it though, and I think that's sad."
Sad. Was that even the right word? Maybe. It just seemed a little too dramatic, like she was overstating the importance, and that made her feel a little silly. Still, she thought it was a valid point. Admittedly not sad like crying children or injured fluffy animals.
Nevertheless, it was a different kind of sad.

"Hmmmmm," Kira said trying to think and Dan was listening by the time she started, "Well, I don't know if I can pick any one thing, Maybe the chance to see other cultures. Hear their music, eat their food. It's nice to try something a little different. Not all Jedi are that interested in it though, and I think that's sad." Dan nodded, That is understandable; And i agree it is ''sad'' that other Jedi seem not to be greatful for all the viritaties out there. Dan thought about that point, Many of them are becoming prejudice, and arogant... He pointed out noticing that others in the lunch room where now leaving and it was becoming less crowded, this was the time he normally came in, granted there was less food, but there was also a bit mroe quiet and easier to reflect on his personal training. He continued where he left off, Mostly the Younglings and Padawans But i've seen it in some Jedi too. He said with a sigh, It is unfortunatly becoming a trate people aren't growing out of.
Dan was now thinking on the idea of a Padawan, but in order to keep the conversation going he thought of a way to turn that into a question, As a Instructers assisstant, he started, Are you allowed to have your own student? What is your view on teaching the next generation of Jedi?

"I don't actually know," Kira said, rubbing her chin gently as she wondered what exactly the policy was. If she'd wanted a Padawan, could she have taken one? She wasn't aware of any specific rule saying she couldn't, but it was practice that really was the issue.
"I'm so busy tending to multiple Younglings during the day that I really wouldn't have time for a Padawan of my own. It wouldn't be fair to them if their master was never around, even if I was allowed to have my own student."
The Tholothian woman stared down into the depths of her empty mug and she frowned a little at the lack of coffee in her morning. Clearly she needed more, and needed it equally sweet.
The dark-skinned woman stood up and excused herself for a moment, walking with long strides over to the long array of drink dispensers, pouring herself another cupful and doctoring it with sugar, using a stirring stick to integrate the granules into the liquid. Then Kira tasted it to make sure it was right, pronouncing it satisfactory and heading back over to the table.
Kira lowered her lanky frame back down onto the chair, setting the mug down before her next to her sketchpad, and then trying to remember what the question had been. Padawans? Check. What was the other half... Education in general? Yes, that was it.
"I think education is very important for a Jedi. There's more than just lightsabers and the Force too, there's a lot of academics involved. I do think we should prepare Younglings as much as possible, and I also don't think we should send them to the Corps so soon if they don't get masters. I feel like if we gave them another year or two to learn, they'd be just as good. And they deserve masters too."

Kira looked into her empty coffee cup and excused herself from the table to get a refill, he decided to take that time himself and get rid of his trey. He returned before she did and when she returned she picked up the conversation where it was left off at.
"I think education is very important for a Jedi. There's more than just lightsabers and the Force too, there's a lot of academics involved. Dan nodded, That's understandable i guess, but on the other hand we do need people in the area's they send the younglings, and not all hope is lost, they learn sometimes more then normal Padawans, and to my knowledge can still be taken by a master. He pointed out.
Dan sighed, not out of sadness or of relief like most sighs, but just out of tiredness, he actually didn't feel like training or working out today. He mostly wanted to stay in the lunch hall and continue talking with Kira, he had begun a good conversation with her and was now thinking more seriously about a Padawan, He asked the next question.
From what it sounds like you're not to open to having a padawan, Is this only because you can't have the time for one, or is it also partly because you just don't like the idea? He asked leaning forward a bit to get a little of pressure off his back.

Didn't like the idea? Kira blinked dumbly, her coffee cup halfway to her lips. It just hovered there in beverage purgatory while she sat there wondering what exactly gave him the impression that she didn't like the idea of a Padawan.
Quite to the contrary. She'd grown up watching the holonet show 'Padawan Adventures,' featuring the chipper Corellian boy Arki Darkrider, and she'd always wanted to be like his human master Lorena, who also had dark-skin. Yes, she'd wanted to have a daring Padawan and go on adventures with him and his friends, dispensing sage advice.
But she simply didn't have time. She'd have to give up assisting Younglings in order to take on a Padawan, and that was like severing her own arm. Kira's very calling was to help Younglings, to spend time with children. While watching one grow up would be immensely rewarding, she just couldn't give up her passion.
Well, not really passion. After all Jedi, didn't do passion. But her calling, her raison d'être really. There was no shame or guilt in doing what she loved, and it was productive at that.
"I love the idea," Kira said. "I really wish I could have a Padawan, and watch them grow up, teaching them all kinds of things and going on missions with them, but I don't have the time or flexibility in my schedule. They need someone who can give them plenty of attention, and I can't. It wouldn't be fair to them."

Kira stopped before getting the cup to her mouth, she bagan to speak what she thought. "I love the idea, I really wish I could have a Padawan, and watch them grow up, teaching them all kinds of things and going on missions with them, but I don't have the time or flexibility in my schedule. They need someone who can give them plenty of attention, and I can't. It wouldn't be fair to them." Dan nodded but felt he had said something wrong on perhaps in a way that strug a nerve with Kira.
Dan began. Well, i see your point, i was just curious, i do apologise if it was taken wrong. Dan said before continueing, Perhaps you are better off without a student of your own. He said agreeing with her in the long run.
Dan wasn't sure exactly what to say next, but on the other hand he was the one who had been asking most of the questions, he thought it was fair to assume it being her turn to ask a question or two, or three.

Kira nodded, the tendrils on her Tholoth headdress swaying a little with the sudden motion of her head. Then she lapsed into silence, sipping her coffee. She hesitantly took up the pencil and continued her sketch, unsure what to do with the silence.
It lingered, so she finally decided as she was midway through drawing a leg that she should break it and make conversation again.
As it happened, the caramel-skinned young Knight was not exactly the greatest conversationalist in the galaxy. She opened her mouth to speak, and nothing came out, so she closed it. She tried thinking first, and opened her mouth again, only this time something completely unrelated came out.
"Do you watch the holonet much?"
Kira resisted the urge to laugh at how random that had been. Certainly she hadn't bee expecting that to come out of her mouth, but admittedly she had been thinking about 'Padawan Adventures' a lot, ever since the topic came up in her mind.
She wanted to go and watch it now, but this was the morning, and she had classes to help out with. She was scheduled all day after all, helping out with a pair of Instructors, a Twi'lek woman named Aayla and a Rodian man named Glormo, both of whom she'd worked with well before.
In fact, she only had a half hour before she was to meet them in a Youngling dormitory.

Kira began to speak but stopped before any words actually came out. A few seconds longer and she finally asked something, unexpected, but it was something. "Do you watch the holonet much?" Dan wasn't exactly expecting that and from the look on Kira's face she wasn't exactly expecting it either.
Well...Not really, i guess I've watched some things. I'm aware of the show you pointed out Padawan Adventures I've seen that a few times. He said answering her question as best he could.
Lemmy see there's Miss-fits good show but it didn't last long, I've seen Bounty Hunter Wars that one never seems to stop. Dan said starting off with a list. It was a short list, but he didn't watch to much Holo net, normally when he was bored and that was about it. Well i almost forgot Tower. It's about a Jedi investigator and a Detective. He said ending the list with that.
I guess i don't actually watch that much, how about you besides Padawan adventures? He asked.

Kira scratched her chin, as her hair wasn't accessible and she was trying to be thoughtful. She genuinely couldn't remember mentioning Padawan Adventures, but with her things just sort of leaked out in a babbling stream.
Her improbably blue eyes looked at Dan as she showed she was attentive, listening to the shows he listed, both of which she knew in passing, though she was more partial to Tower than anything with 'war' in the title.
"I'm pretty partial to the cooking shows," The Tholothian woman said cheerfully as she sipped her coffee. "Pretty much anything with 'cake' in the title."
Kira glanced up at the chronometer on the wall and gave an apologetic look to Dan.
"Got to go now, but it was nice sharing breakfast with you. Maybe I'll see you around again sometime. Bye," The dark-skinned woman waved and tucked her art supplies into her satchel, shouldering it and taking her tray away, pausing to finish her coffee before she looked back at Dan over her shoulder one more time and waved a second time.

"I'm pretty partial to the cooking shows," chuckled before she continued, "Pretty much anything with 'cake' in the title." Dan nodded cake was good, he thought to himself.
She spoke again before he had a chance to, "Got to go now, but it was nice sharing breakfast with you. Maybe I'll see you around again sometime. Bye," Dan nodded before he stood up and gave a bow, It was a pleasure meeting you Kira. He said as she collected her trey and walked away giving a wave as she left.
He on the other hand had some training to catch up on, so he left for the training room glad that he had such a good experience for the day.
((I suppose this is a End))
