Pre-discovery
Cas was born to a diplomat father and a stay at home mom. In his early years Cas spent all of his time at home with his mother as she read him books on various topics from history to politics to theology. No person in the world could have been a happier baby. When Cas was almost three his mom began taking him with her to place like the market to get food for the night’s meal and to visit some of the other neighborhood. Just after his third birthday Cas and his mom where leaving a local market when a Jedi Watchmen passed by them. Cas for some reason felt compelled to reach out towards the Jedi and tug on the Jedi’s robe. The Jedi was turning to look towards Cas at the same moment and smiled to Cas. The Jedi spoke to Cas’ mother for a brief few moments before they went home. Later that night when Cas’ father came home his mother shared the incident with her husband. They talked love into the night and decided the next morning to speak to the same Jedi Watchmen they had met in the market the next day. After some conversation back and forth a compromise was made. Cas would stay with his parents until two months before his sixth birthday and then Cas would go the Academy of Courscant to be trained as a Jedi.
Early Years
For a little over the next two years things would be a little busy for Cas. His father realizing that he would have very little time with his first born son became to take Cas with him everywhere he went. At first it was a little bit of a shock for Cas. Cas had enjoyed his time with his mother and the other children in the neighborhood. Cas went to the office with his father ahd heard the conversations between his father and some of the government officials in the city. A big part of what his father did was settle business disputes, pay disputes, and occasionally advised the Senators and Representative of the planet in the Galactic Senate. When not in meetings his father would teach Cas about Galactic politics. Cas lost himself in the learning provided by his father. From the reading his mother did to him and the lessons in politics from his father Cas was learning more than he could ever imagine. The day Cas left for his new life in the order was a solemn occasion. His father told him to be strong but fair and his mother told him to be compassionate. Cas stepped on the shuttle with a final wave unsure of what would come next but a serene calm about what lie ahead.
Youngling
The first time Cas saw the Jedi Temple he was mystified by its size and beauty. He had seen large buildings in Coronet but never like what he now saw. Cas was met with a large group of other children his own age and ushered into the building by a Togruta Jedi Master and shown to his room where he would sleep for the foreseeable future. There were tours of the Temple from the training rooms, the class rooms, the library, the archives, and the courtyard. By far his favorite place in the temple was the library. Cas enjoyed his classes immensely favoring the class room lectures over the martial training and swordsmanship. Cas excelled from the very begin in history recalling the books his mother had used to teach him to read and the documents his father had used when teaching him politics. His teachers in the class room admired his eagerness and how quickly he caught on to the lesson. In the training circle Cas was quick to spot the subtleties on how emotion effected one’s ability but had some difficulties in the application. At any rate even when having difficulty Cas was greatly respected by his teachers. His combat trainers were more than willing to help Cas with the combat aspects of his learning enjoying the conversation that Cas produced.
Padawan
Cas studied diligently and right after his tenth birthday his history teacher asked Cas to remain behind after a lesson. When the rest of the students had left the teacher pulled Cas into a side room where a Jedi Knight by the name of Trakinor Saris was waiting. Jedi Knight Saris was a Jedi serving the order under the Council of Reconciliation. Knight Saris had been told a little about the background Cas had and how well Cas had been doing with his general studies and force training. It would seem Cas would be the Jedi’s new Padawan focusing not only on ther force as a Consular but serve as a Diplomat as well. It was only natural has it involved advanced studies in the things Cas already had a natural ability with. The best part for Cas was the access it granted him to the archives has his new Master frequented the place often for information on various planets and organizations. Just as important to Cas was the ability for a few moment to himself to study.
At first training under his new Master was slow going. The first thing Cas learned was how to channel the force to produce a meditative state. Knight Saris told Cas that the best weapon available to himself was the ability to commune with the force and use it to center his thoughts and feelings. When working as a diplomat many different feelings ran the course of any given encounter and the swirl of emotions was often unsettling. It was important to be able to re-center yourself when things were at their most chaotic. Cas would spend hours in solitude in a meditative state clearing his mind and his thoughts. It was through these sessions that Cas got closer to the force and by effect was able to re-enforce his abilities to read the moods of others around him. His next focus for his lessons in the beginning was the ability to use the force to protect others from harm and heal people. Cas spent hours practicing the ability to put up a shield to deflect incoming attacks to protect himself and others. After some time Cas began to do some multi-task. While in his meditative Cas would hold up small objects in the air with the force. It started with small objects such as his datapad, comlink, and other small items.
When Cas was twelve he went on his first mission with his Master to settle a business dispute between the local merchants and a relatively unknown smuggling group that had been creeping up in that area of space. The issue was that the group had been dealing in stolen merchandise from Nar Shaddaa and passing it off as legitimate goods on Tatoonie. During a routine inspection local police forces had shut the merchant’s business down and seized all of his assests. Even though normally it would not be an issue handled by outsiders an old friend of Knight Saris lived beside the merchant. Knight Saris saw this as a good starter mission for Cas. Knight Saris and Cas travelled to Tatoonie and spoke to both parties about what had taken place. In the end Cas was called to act as a defense attorney of sorts for the merchant. Cas would spend the next few days going around and speaking to the local citizens and gathering information on the day to day activities of the city. Along the way Cas learned about a nearby cave that held crystals that could be used in Light Saber construction.
Cas went to this cave and spent some time meditating on the information he had learned and investigating the existence of the crystal. Before he left Cas grabbed one of the crystals and presented it to Knight Saris before commencing the trial of the merchant. In the end it was determined that the merchant was indeed guilty of possession on contraband for knowingly possessing illegal items supplied by the smuggling group. Both the merchant and one of the smugglers were sentence to hard labor. Knight Saris and Cas went back to the Temple. Once there Cas went to the archives and researched the crystal he had found in the cave on Tatoonie. Cas took the information he gathered and reported back to Knight Saris. Two weeks shy of his thirteenth birthday Cas and his Master were called to one of the neutral worlds to talk to them about the future of their planet and the Galaxy. This mission would prove to be much more difficult than the last. Little did they know but the government was in the middle of a civil war. A small pack of resistance had been slowly infiltrating the interworks of the government in an effort to stage a coup. For the first few days everything seemed to be going just like any other negotiation. During the fourth day however a new face appeared in the negotiation as an aide to one of the noble houses who frequented affairs of the government.
Like Cas did with a lot of people when he first met them Cas probed the new person’s feeling and thoughts through the force. At first nothing seemed to be off about this person. As the negotiation continued Cas began to feel something was a little off as if there was a tingling in the back of his skull. When they broke for the day Cas spoke to his Master about what he had been feeling. His Master told him to meditate on it and re-center himself. His Master told him not let himself dwell on it. The force would point him in the right direction. Cas spent most of the night in meditation over the feelings he had. All Cas felt was a cold and panicked sensation and then a searing heat that clawed at his entire being. Cas could not shake the dreaded feeling. The next day the talks resumed and Cas was still a little on edge. Cas told his Master about the feeling he had during the previous night’s meditation. His Master decided they would speak to the man during the break they took midday. When the break took place Cas and his Master spoke briefly with the man asking him a little about where he was from and how he knew the house members he served as an aide for. The man seemed to be nervous about the conversation. After a few more questions the man left to grab some food before everyone came back to them table for continued talks. However two hours later when talks were to resume the aide was nowhere to be found. Cas looked at his Master with a look of concern.
After another day of negotiations an agreement was finally made for the planet to join the Republic on a probationary basis. As they were leaving the building to get some rest before heading back the next day they spotted the aide slinking through the crowd. Cas approached the man but before he could speak the man pulled out a thermal detonator from his pocket. Cas instinctively reach out with the force and attempted to push the man away from the crowd. Cas was successful in pushing the man away from the main crowd but much to his dismay Cas had pushed the man into the street right as a mother and young daughter were turning around the corner of a nearby street. Cas’ face twisted into a mask of terror seeing the woman and daughter. Cas tried quickly to reach them to get them out of the way. Before he could get there the man detonated the grenade. Cas was thrown by the blast hard into a wall knocked unconscious. Cas woke up a few minutes later with two cracked ribs and some scratches. Cas asked his Master how the woman and daughter were finding out much to his horror that both had been killed in the blast. Cas was mortified at what had happened. Cas spent the day getting the ribs mended by a doctor before catching the last flight of the day back to the temple.
Once back in the temple Cas would spend the next week in solitude deep in meditation the events playing over and over in his mind. After that week Cas went to his Master to talk about what had happened. The two of them spent hours talking about it and the effects it had on Jedi to see and experience the horrors of violence, terrorism, and war. The next week Cas began to training heavily in combat vowing that the next time he came across a situation that could not be settled with words he would be more equipped to handle it. Over the next two years Cas would spend his time working on Light Saber combat and occasional serving as a chronicler for the Council of Reconciliation when they were holding evaluations of potentially fallen Jedi. At the age of sixteen Cas finally got to work on creating his first Light Saber. Cas used the crystal he had gotten from the Tatoonie mission to create a silver color of the blade. Cas constructed the hilt making the hilt a medium blue with green snaking around the hilt. Cas meditated long after the Light Saber was finished.
Now that Cas had completed his Light Saber Cas began to extend his training to a more defensive focused form. Cas would use his Light Saber to deflect blows but his offense was still based more force techniques to disarm or immobilize his opponent. Around age nineteen Cas and his Master began to go on more missions for the Council of Reconciliation. Some of the missions were simple dispute negotiations and other were based more on bringing neutral planets into the Republic. Cas faced each negotiation with a grim determination to see that they ended as peacefully as possible not wanting a repeat of the death of innocent people.
Cas found himself studying more and more about the different beliefs and culture of the Galaxy. Cas began to pick up the healing arts of the force at times assisting in relief efforts for the sick and downtrodden on planets he visited. Being able to heal the sick and wounded gave Cas a sense of peace that he had not felt in a long time. When not on a mission Cas studied the ways of the force in earnest perfecting the healing arts, the ability to heal and the ability to protect others. Cas maintained is use of force abilities to judge the moods and felling of others.

“Yes we have something we would like for you to look into.” “It seems someone is stirring up the Wookiees of Kashyyk.” “We are not entirely sure who is responsible for it but they have been our allies for a long time and it is something worth looking into.” “If it is simply an issue between clans then help to resolve it.” “If it is an external problem threatening the harmony of the Wookiees then we want you to evaluate it and if needed intervene.”
Cas takes a moment and takes in what is said to him before speaking.
“To we have any further info on the stability of Wookiee leadership of if they have attracted the attention of any of the Independent factions or the Sith?”
The Master shook his head no. Cas thought for a moment before bowing to the Council.
“I will leave once I have retrieved some information on Kashyyk and the Wookiees from the archives.” “May the Force be with you.”
Cas turned and headed towards the archives to pull up what information he could find to better equip himself for what he may find.
