Faction: Mandalorian
Department: Special Forces[Intelligence]
Rank: Corporal
Name: Salazaar Jehaatir
Race: Human
Age: 33
Height: 5'10
Weight: 150 lbs.
Birth place: Concord Dawn
Appearance:
The years have not been kind to Salazaar and his appearance reflects that. He was once considered relatively handsome but you would be hard-pressed to find someone who still considers him so. His gaunt expression is barely hidden by the unshaven stubble blanketing his face. Salazaar's face is almost a tangible representation of the years spent in a high stress occupation. He is not even forty yet one gets the impression that he is decades older. The Mandalorian stands two inches shy of six feet and weighs around the average for someone his height. Despite his outward appearance, Salazaar keep his body in good physical condition yet his posture could only be described as that associated with years of sulking in the shadows.
He has a pair of uncanny orange eyes which almost seem luminescent in the dark. They hold no special meaning other than they are a rare but not unknown trait in his family line. In normal light there is a dull hue about them which suggests nothing more than a simple resignation to an inescapable life. At night or under the cover of his hood, they seem rather unnerving if not slightly sinister. Therefore combined with his shaved pate and dark demeanor, Salazaar is not the type of person you would want to run into in a dark alley or any place that doesn't consider the light its friend.
Salazaar is almost always wearing his signature dark-brown cloak which might have been mistaken for a Jedi robe had it not been so beat up and worn down. The cloak has two noticeable metallic shoulder guards and it falls to about his ankles. There are time when the cloak does not even seem to be one piece of fabric as there are a few random torn strands that hang loosely to the side. Salazaar rarely ever puts the hood of his cloak down and only does so when necessary such as at the order of senior officers. He usually wears a similarly colored shirt and pair of pants to go along with it. The Mandalorian also tends to favor fingerless gloves which provide him with a better grip. Salazaar tends to eschew any formal Mandalorian armor and only wears a light underweave that grants him some minor protection.
There are a few weapons that he tends to keep on his person at all times. Salazaar favors either using a single pistol or close combat fighting with knives. Therefore at any given time, there are no less than four knives of varying length on his person. He tends to keep his blaster in a shoulder holster which hangs from his left side so he can cross-draw it. Occasionally Salazaar will also carry his custom shotgun-variant blaster with him if it looks like things are likely to get messy. The weapon usually sits in a custom holster stitched into the back of his cloak so the handle of the blaster sticks just above his right shoulder.
Personality:
Salazaar has all the looks of a mercenary but acts more like a grizzled war veteran. He is grumpy, cynical, and rather disillusioned with his current profession. There is a certain tiredness in his words and actions that is suggestive of both experience and disgust. Salazaar isn't driven any real sense of honor or ambition but rather continuity. He has been in his profession so long that he doesn't know anything else and doesn't really care anymore to try and find an alternative. This tends to be the root of his often noted cynicism. It is also for this reason that at the age of 33, he is only a corporal despite his achievements. He has no desire to be a hero nor to be famous, they got themselves killed.
Conversation with Salazaar can range from entertaining to depressing to downright insulting. He tends to treat most people equally in that he doesn't really care what they think about him though he does show a level of deference to commanding officers. Salazaar is a man of the world, a gritty one, and saying he speaks plainly is a gross understatement. It's usually considered a miracle if he doesn't swear or curse between two sentences. He isn't laconic and as such can be amicable in his own weird way. Salazaar noticeably tries to keep people at arm's length but some people find a way of getting under his guard.
He is by no means a genius but is considered rather perceptive by most. Salazaar may not be a strategist yet he knows his way around the streets, how to remain hidden, and effective interrogation techniques. It is the old story of natural ability fused with hardened experience. Therefore those who are quick enough are likely to pick up pertinent advice somewhere between his complaining and swearing. It is for this reason that Salazaar is sent to Republic planets as a spy, saboteur, and occasionally an assassin.
The Mandalorian has little qualms with killing others in the name of his forgotten duty. Salazaar's loyalty to the Mandalorians has caused a great deal of skepticism among his peers. He no longer knows what drives him to support the Mandalorian cause, but Salazaar is sure as hell it isn't because of his love for the motherland. Therefore it isn't surprising that he garners much distrust yet someone apparently had faith in him. Maybe they thought him wholly loyal, maybe they meant to use him as a pawn; Salazaar had stopped caring long ago. He would do what he was ordered to until death finally found him.
