The space above Alderaan was quiet. Nothing moved in or out or even around the planet. No sound was heard in the vacuum of space that surrounded the amazing planet. But that would be soon cut short. A Corellian freighter materialized above the planet after escaping light speed and slowed to a stop, the sonic boom that it brought with it sounding like a shot from a cannon.
The ship was on it's way from Corelliea to Topwara before the pilot had made a split second decision and had instead set the coordinates for the space above Alderaan, the pilot's homeworld. The pilot stretched her back for a few seconds and began to enter the atmosphere above a certain set of coordinates. She maneuvered the ship down towards the city of Aldera where she had been born.
As the ship neared the shipyard, a voice came over the comm."Corelliean Light Freighter on approach, please identify." The woman at the controls responded back. "Corelliean Light Freighter Registration Code 13576009-35. I'm here on a personal visit." "Very well...land in docking bay 88 on the east side of the city please."
The pilot maneuvered the ship to the docking bay and landed it with ease, shutting the ship down as soon as she had landed. The pilot set all security systems and left the ship, closing the ramp behind her and securing it with it's own code. She turned and looked at the ship before walking into the crowd and heading towards the University. She wasn't wearing her armor or weapons, but she was wearing her usual tribal style attire that was a bit revealing.
She walked into the University first and went straight to the directory. She smiled as she saw Irek Horada still on the list of faculty. Rouge walked to the lift which would take her to the correct level where her father worked. It had been too long and she wanted to see everyone. As she got close, she could hear some arguing and then a man busting out of the room that was her father's office. "I don't want to take your job Dad! My job pays well enough and I enjoy it! I'm out."
The man walked towards her and as he passed her, she stuck out her foot and tripped him. He fell flat on his face and she gave a laugh. "Have you gotten that rusty Andres?" The man turned and looked at her with a look that didn't know what to make of the woman.
"Ummm...who?"
"Do you want me to hit you so you can remember who I am bro?"
The man's eyes widened and he couldn't speak for a few seconds before he threw himself at Rouge and embraced her. "Are you really Rouge?"
"Yes...now let me go."
He let go and she turned around. "We'll catch up later. I'm going to say hi to dad and then go look around." she said as she moved towards the door where their dad worked. She opened the door and walked across the room towards her father who was rubbing his eyes. He looked much older. He glanced up at her and looked down. "Please...leave...I can't deal with anything else right now."
"Not even your own daughter?"
Irek looked up at her questioningly and realization came to his face. "Could you be...."
"Hi daddy."
Irek got up and walked over to Rouge, tears in his eyes. He came over and hugged her and then just broke down. She hugged him and cried at the same time. She had missed all of them and wanted them to know that she was still alive. She took the man to his seat and sat him down before leaving him to his crying. She had one more place to visit before she left.
She stood in front of the home that she had visited on many occasions. It was so familiar to her that she knew the inside by heart...almost. She knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer. When nobody answered, she went around to the garage and snuck a peek inside, noticing that there was an empty space. Oh well...she could wait. She went over to a grassy area near the door and sat down, crossing her legs and closing her eyes, her breathing slow and steady. She would wait until someone decided to come home before she would come out of her meditative state.

Setting in the driver seat of the speeder she had gotten for her sixteenth birthday. Seria was on a weeks leave and she decided that it was about time that she had come home. It was different with only her parents and one protocol droid. They had no need for the other three that they had when the kids lived at home. So the Knesos donated them to the University for their droid department.
The Captain approached the garage in the vehicle, pushing the button the door slide open and he slowly drove in. Powering down the speeder she exited it and walked out of the garage. Noticing someone on the lawn she approached slowly. She couldn't get a good look at the face. She knew it was a woman by the figure and the clothing.
At the moment Seria didn't appear in anyway to be a Republic Officer. She was wearing a light fitting pair of pants and white shirt with the logo of the University on it. As she got closet to the female she spoke in a puzzled tone.
"Excuse me, can I help you with something. Are you one of my fathers students?"
It wasn't abnormal for one of her fathers students came over and got a tutor session from her dad. Some that were going into politics would come over and speak with her mother on the criteria needed for the job. Seria stood there waiting for the woman to explain way she was sitting on the front yard.

It was not long afterwards that she picked up the sound of a speeder heading in her direction. It had the distinct sound of the speeder that Seria had recieved for her sixteenth birthday. Rouge still remembered it very well as she had gone on a joyride with Seria almost the day after she had gotten it. She smiled at the memory and heard it pull into the garage. She remained where she was and waited for the driver to notice.
He heard someone come over and looked up to see a woman with blonde hair, casual pants and a white university t-shirt. She noticed the woman's light blue eyes but thought nothing of it. Plenty of women on Alderaan had light blue eyes.
"Excuse me, can I help you with something. Are you one of my fathers students?"
Rouge stood up and looked at Seria. That statement had given her away and she chuckled and shook her head. "How could I be? I was not really into the learning stuff...you should know that by now Seria." She sighed and looked around before looking back at her best friend. "So, I see that the speeder is still the same as it was...what was it...fourteen years ago? Seems like you find time to take care of it." She wasn't going to say anything about who she was. She wanted Seria to find out for herself.

Watching the woman stand, she was the same height ad Seria. When the woman looked into Seria eyes she looked familiar but she couldn't put her finger on it. Then the red headed woman spoke. This took the Captain by surprise that this female knew her apparently from when they we're little. But the voice sounded familiar. After a few more moment of thinking it hit the Intelligence Officer. A smile started to form across her face.
"Rouge, Rouge is that you?"
It looked and sounded like her best friend but how could it be. The last time she saw her it was the day before she left for college. That was around fourteen years ago, them for some reason they stopped talking. Seria tried to get in touch but never got a hold of her. Then when Seria went into the Military she pretty much lost contact with everyone.
It was kinda awkward seeing her best friend after all these years. She had certainly changed from when they were frowning up. It appeared that Rouge had fallen into a certain life style. It wasn't that Knesos was judging but she didn't seem like that type growing up.

Rouge watched for a moment as a smile played across the face of her best friend that she ever had. Even compared to Nightmare whom she had thought of as a father figure could never be the same kind of friend. He had been her mentor, Seria had been someone who she knew that she could count on to be there for her and vice versa. Even if she wasn't there for her back then. But that was the past.
"Rouge, Rouge is that you?"
Rouge smiled and nodded before stepping up and hugging Seria for a moment before pulling away. "It is. I came back here for a few days before I need to get home. Make sure that smugglers haven't looted my place on Topwara." She sighed as she thought about her home, high in the trees away from it all.
She looked at Seria and smiled before looking down in shame as she noticed a certain look in her eye. "I'm sorry that I look like this, and from the look in your eye, you probably have figured out what I have become. Let me set the record straight. Even though i may work as a mercenary, I am more of a free agent. I am free to choose who to support and I have been doing behind the scenes work for The Republic...stuff that you probably haven't even heard of before." She sighed and waited for the anger to come out.

Seria hugged her friend and looked around. The Republic Officer folded her arms and listen to her friend go on why she was there. She had heard she had left Alderaan but never knew where she was. Couple times she had thought about looking her up and seeing where she had gone. But when she got around to it work got piled on. Now with the war she had to jump through hoops and sell her soul to get this week of leave.
Seria heard the last part about her doing stuff that she hadn't heard of. Knesos chuckled slightly, Rouge apparently didn't know that Seria was an intelligence officer. The blond woman got closer for only Rouge to hear and whispered.
"My dear sister, you forget I'm in the Republic Army. Plus with the department I work for I hear about almost everything that happens military or civilian that effects the production of the Republic."
Seria smiled and headed toward the door. Opening the door and heading inside making her way to the kitchen. Walking to the fridge she take out the bantha milk and some cookies from the cupboard and set them on the counter. It was just like old times when they hungout after school but they were now thirty.
"So Rouge, now onto not telling where you were. I've been worried about you. I come home from college before I go to Coruscant for training and your dad tells me you left. I thought we told each other everything. Last time I saw you we were sixteen and boy crazy. Now you're some kind of mercenary."

Rouge looked at her friend that she had known for ages. She seemed...taller...more important in some way. She couldn't place her finger on it. The nice and pretty Seria of a few years ago had changed. The look in her eye was that of importance and stature as well as all...knowing? Rouge pondered the look and came to a small realization before she was spoken to and her thoughts were proved right.
"My dear sister, you forget I'm in the Republic Army. Plus with the department I work for I hear about almost everything that happens military or civilian that effects the production of the Republic."
Rouge smiled at her friend as she followed her to the kitchen. She had a pretty good idea of what was coming next. Bantha milk was taken from the fridge and cookies from the cupboard. She smiled and sat down on one of the stool around the counter. She took a cookie and poured herself a glass of milk, dipping the cookie into the milk. She took a bite and shuddered at how good it was. She hadn't had cookies in a while. Sure she had been having bantha milk, but cookies for her were rare.
"So Rouge, now onto not telling where you were. I've been worried about you. I come home from college before I go to Coruscant for training and your dad tells me you left. I thought we told each other everything. Last time I saw you we were sixteen and boy crazy. Now you're some kind of mercenary."
There it was. The question. She took a sip of bantha milk before she looked over at her friend and then stared at the glass as if she was in a bar and it was her drink. "My mom died before I actually got to see her. She was in the military and honestly, her dying threw me over the edge. Those fights that you heard about? I was the one who started them. I left because after two years of college, I couldn't stand it anymore. There were too many rules, the boys were all perverts who wanted to see me naked, and I wanted freedom. So I left on my own. I thought that it would be better if I didn't tell you because I knew that you would want me to come back. Truth is...I couldn't. I ran into a man out there who was an assassin who taught me how to fight like a bat out of hell with anything. I trained for a long time, actually until I was about Twenty Eight if I can recall. I did miss you...but I had studies. I can repair speeders and do micro adjustments to microrepulsors and can do most of the repairs to the ship I own now."
She sighed and looked at Seria before shaking her head and smiling before asking her a question. "I've got to ask you...how is it that you don't know that I'm the one doing the dirty behind the scenes work...yet you're the one who knows about this stuff?"

Taking a seat across from Rouge then pouring herself some milk into a cup. Taking a bite of the cookie while listening to her redheaded friend speak. It was quiet the tale that she was telling her. Some of it was believable, such as her mother dying. She wished she had been able to return for the funeral but was unable to return. Taking another cooking from the package then dunking into the milk.
Before Seria was able to say anything Rouge sprung a question on her. She knew the answer right away but was she able to trust her friend again. She was a mercenary, but it was Rouge who had been a sister to her for the last twenty-five years. There hadn't been a day she didn't think about her. Taking a drink of the milk and then setting the glass back on the counter. The intelligence officer took a deep breath and let it out, then spoke.
"The reason I know about all the work is I am an intelligence officer. But the only name we got was a person that went by X. No real name just X, which strikes me odd but is understandable."
Seria stood starting to pace back and fourth. It was puzzling that she had never gotten the full story on what X was doing. Though she was still a junior intelligence officer that didn't work on that case very much. She shook her head and came back from her work mindset. She had to remind herself she was on vacation and not on duty.

As she waited for Seria to answer the question, Rouge took a drink of her glass of mild. She grabbed another cookie and bit into it, chewing slowly as to savor the flavor. She hadn't had a cookie this good in years, mostly because they were terrible for her health. Though...booze was terrible for your health to, but she had gotten an immunity to it from drinking so much. That, water, and Bantha Milk were the fluids that she lived off of day in and day out with no effects to her quality of work.
As she waited, she thought of something that she had neglected to think of when she had asked Seria the question. The fact that she was a mercenary asking an intelligence officer...or at least who she thought was an intelligence officer...about sensitive information was risky for most. For most. She was not in that category. Seria was her friend and she would never betray her.
"The reason I know about all the work is I am an intelligence officer. But the only name we got was a person that went by X. No real name just X, which strikes me odd but is understandable."
Rouge looked up at Seria for a moment before letting out a small chuckle and then looking back at her friend. "That's right...I forgot. For any kind of mission, I go by the name of X. You are the only one who knows my true identity and I would like for it to stay that way." She ate her last cookie and then stood up and looked at her friend. "Okay...enough of this talk of our new lives, I have the strange idea of having a race between your speeder and mine. A street race or hill race if you will. It sounds like fun."

Seria stood watching het friend eat the last cookie. It was weird to see her after all these years and something still didn't seem right. Was it the training that the Captain had received or was it that she knew Rouge well enough. The blond placed the milk back into the fridge and looked at the red head when she suggested a race between the speeders.
For some reason Knesos wasn't interested in a race. She wanted to know what had changed about her friend after all these years. Sitting down at the counter she looked Rouge in the eyes.
"What's wrong Rouge, why do you keep changing the subject? Don't lie to me, I can tell when you do. And not because of my training, because I know you."
The Captain said with a stern voice as she crossed her arms. She wanted to know and she wasn't letting the other woman go until she told her. Seria reached up and grabbed the elastic band that held her hair up and pulled. Her hair fell and it touched her shoulders. It was the same length that it was in high school for the most part. She kept it short for convince when on duty.

Rouge watched her friend for a few minutes. Her hair tied up was probably more formal and probably more suited to her job than what they were talking about. She watched as her friend's lips began to move and she knew what was coming. Seria hadn't really been one to be interested in racing and was probably worried for Rouge and what she had become. Rouge found that she was right on the dot with this thought as Seria, her best friend, spoke.
"What's wrong Rouge, why do you keep changing the subject? Don't lie to me, I can tell when you do. And not because of my training, because I know you."
She watched her friend take the band out of her hair and saw it fall free. It went to about her shoulders and she watched as Seria stared at her, waiting for an answer. Rouge sighed and closed her eyes for a moment before getting down to business.
"Why? Because...because whenever I talk about it...I think about what triggered it all. I had begun to have thoughts even worse than what is standing before you right now. First suicide, then killing my family before committing suicide, or even trying to join the sith to bring her back..." Rouge looked down at the table, forcing back tears. "I didn't want you to worry so I kept it to myself. Two years of college later and I ran away from home. That's when I met the assassin and the rest is history."
She looked up at her friend, some tear streaks falling down her face. "Do you know what I mean? Losing my mom was one of the worst things that could have happened, and I decided to become a field agent or mercenary or whatever you want to call it. I work for good now and I fight. All of the shit that I have seen and done I cannot undo...well...except for maybe giving that smuggler his ship back. But he deserved it."

The blonde woman watched as her friend explained what had been going on. She knew about her mother passing away and how close they were. Seria could relate to how Rouge felt about loosing someone close to her.
After Remingtons death, Ria didn't want to do much. She continued because she knew that's what he would want for her. Though after word she hadn't really dated until she met Kaz. Though for some strange reason he had just disappeared. Seeing her friends eyes tear up, she made her way around the counter and places her hand on the redheads shoulder.
"Rouge, you can tell me anything. You have to know that. You are my family and I love you. Of course I'm going to worry about you, that's my job. I know that loosing someone close to you isn't easy. I've lost two people in my life, my brother and my boyfriend, Remington. Remington was my life, I hate to Sith Empire for taking him from me. Though you don't see me running off trying to hid. Im working to better myself and end this war."
The Captain had said with a straight face. Once she was finished she smiled and hugged her friend. She hadn't hugged her 'sister' in so long it felt good. It brought back floods of memories from when they were young, playing dress up with Serias moms clothes and makeup. They would always get in so much trouble for playing with it. But it wouldn't stop them from doing the next time she had a sleep over.

Rouge listened to what her friend had to say. She had known about Seria's brother, but she had no idea that Seria had gotten a boyfriend. She listened long and hard to her 'sister' and what she had to say. Seria had always been the stronger one out of the two of them mentally. She felt the tears come faster and then her friend was hugging her. She hugged back and buried her face in her 'sister's' shoulder, crying loudly and letting the tears of her pain flow.
"You...you have always been stronger than...than I have with...these...these kinds of things." she said as she cried into Seria's shoulder. The hug reminded her of times when they would get caught during sleepovers when they were younger. For a while, she felt like she had that sister back from so long ago. She wanted to hang onto this feeling forever, but knew that she couldn't. They were worlds apart in both career and planet at all times and she would never be able to feel this hug again unless they happened upon each other.
She stopped crying and looked up at her 'sister'. "I missed you sis. Though...I have bettered myself to try to help end this war the way my mother would have wanted it to."

It had been awhile since she had hugged Rouge like she was now. Seria knew that she had been through a rough time the past decade or so. The officer placed her hand on the back of her 'sisters' had and let it get buried in her shoulder. The words that Rouge said were broken up over the crying. Once the redhead was done weeping Captain Knesos looked her in the eyes and spoke.
"I've missed you too. Knowing your mother, she would be very proud of you. Maybe as much as I am."
Knesos said wiping a tear from her cheek. Just then one of the butlers walked in. "Ms. Knesos, your father has requested your presence at the school." The blond woman smiled and nodded to the butler, one of the only humanoid workers the Knesos' had. Seria looked back at her friend and smiled.
"Looks like daddy want to me. Hey why don't you come along, I bet he would love to see you."
The Republic Officer said trying to cheer Rouge up. It would be nice to go out the Rouge again. They hadn't done anything together in almost twelve years and maybe this would fix the depressing reunion that it turned into. Seria grabbed the keys to the speeder and made her way to the door.

"I've missed you too. Knowing your mother, she would be very proud of you. Maybe as much as I am." Rouge smiled and nodded at her friend, clearing the tears from her face. As a fringer, getting a compliment that big from a Captain in the army is the biggest honor of all. Well...maybe not to another fringer, but to her it was special. She let out a small laugh and quickly composed herself as the butler walked in.
She listened intently as the butler said that Seria's father wanted her at the school. Rouge looked over at her friend thinking that it would be goodbye when Seria looked at her and smiled. "Looks like daddy want to me. Hey why don't you come along, I bet he would love to see you." Rouge smiled and nodded.
"I would...come to think of it...I actually missed the old geezer." She thought back to the days when she was at the university and Seria's father as her Professor. She fell asleep in more than one of his classes and usually found herself face to face with him on more than one occasion. Especially when she was finishing her last year and began to fight again. "I really hope that he remembers me for the good things that I did..." she says as she follows Seria to the speeder.

Stepping out onto the yard and pressing the button to open the garage. The door opening revealing the speeder. Walking around the corner and hopping in the driver side. The open top speeder had been owned by Seria since she was sixteen. The officer loved the vehicle and glade that her parents kept it.
Knesos started up the speeder once Rouge had gotten. Pulling out and closing the door to the garage, she speed off toward the college. It was nearly on the other side of Aldera. So it gave the woman a couple more minutes to talk. She could feel that her redheaded friend was nervous.
"So Rouge, have you met any hunky men?
The Captain said trying to cheer Rouge up. It was not like Rouge wasn't attractive, but her personality got in the way. There was many of times in high school were guy would be ran off by Rouges abrasive demeanor.
"I saw Finis Brion the other day. He asked about you, he had such a thing for you."
Seria chuckled at the mention of the boys name. Well he was a man now and a very good looking man. If things were diffent career wise she would snatch him up herself but they weren't. There wasn't much traffic in the capital city of Alderaan. Though there was just enough to make it an annoyance.

Rouge walked into the garage after her best friend and saw the speeder. She ran at the front of it and jumped, her hands landing on the floating speeder as she partially cartwheeled and launched herself over the windshield, twisting and landing in the passenger seat of the speeder. Her seat that she had sat in so many times when going places with Seria. They pulled out and started on the way to the college. A few minutes in, Seria asked her something that caught her off guard for a second.
"So Rouge, have you met any hunky men?"
She looked at her friend with a, 'where did you get that from?', kind of look. Seria kept going on from there and Rouge let her do it. "I saw Finis Brion the other day. He asked about you, he had such a thing for you." Rouge couldn't help but let out a short laugh and she looked at her friend.
"Finis? Wow...I almost completely forgot about him." She looked over at her friend with a smile. "It has just been so long since I saw...anybody really. Hunky guys? I've met a few. Did I take a liking to them? Well...after they tried to kill me by jumping me in a back alley and I kicked their asses...yeah. In my line of work...I don't get so many good looking guys who want to just have a nice conversation anymore."

"You're preaching to the choir here sister."
Seria said chuckling glancing over at her friend every now and then. She was having a really good time with Rouge. She wasn't thinking about the mounds of paperwork she probably had piled on her desk. The Captain was also curious to why her dad wanted to talked to her. She knew that her mom was on Corellia visiting her brother Proter. He was there doing some contract work between civilian and military.
"Have you seen your dad yet?"
The republic Officer said as they approached the school. It was a massive campus but luckily there were parking spots close to her fathers office. Seria knew the look on her dads face was going to be priceless when he saw Rouge. Everytime they talked he asked if she had seen or heard from her. As Knesos parked and got out of the speeder she say her older brother Tryvon walking towards dads office as well. She called out to him.
"Try, what are you doing here! Did dad call you too?"
Her brother heard her, flipped around and waved. Walking up to the two woman the tall muscular man spoke. "Hey sis… Hugging his sister … yeah he said that he need to talk to us. Had something important to tell us." As the professor finished his statement he spotted Rouge. Testing wide eyed and surprised "Is that little Rouge Horada?"

Rouge sighed and looked over at her friend with a smile. Maybe she was just preaching to the choir. No...she knew she was preaching to the choir. She had never had a boyfriend while her best friend had found someone who had died in battle. She on the other hand, was a fighter who could be extremely vulgar. Her fighting was unorthodox while her techniques were so wrong that they worked even better than one would think possible. More than once she had knocked out a sparring partner and had to lug him all the way back to the nearest base by herself.
"Have you seen your dad yet?"
Rouge looked back over at Seria and nodded. "Yeah...it is safe to say that it may have caused a bit of mental damage. He couldn't speak and neither could my brother. I mean...they evidently thought that I was dead. I was nineteen when I ran...I wasn't stupid."
She thought about that for a second and shook her head. "Scratch that...I was stupid and reckless." She chuckled and watched as they parked in one of the parking spots. From what she could tell...this was a spot close to Seria's father's office. When she parked, she was about to get out when she noticed someone at the same time that her best friend did.
"Try, what are you doing here! Did dad call you too?"
Rouge's eyes widened and she looked from Seria to Tryvon. Tryvon...like his sister...had grown. She was really into him at one point and her cheeks flushed red when she saw him. She forced that blush under control and waited to be noticed. When she was noticed, her face grew even redder and she looked over to him.
"H-hi Tryvon." she said, tripping over the simplest word that she said. Her face grew even redder and she forced herself to clam down, the blush leaving her face little by little. "So...we were here to see your dad...right? Knowing him...he doesn't really like to be kept waiting." With that, she vaulted out of the passenger seat and landed on her feet outside.

Watching Rouge somersault out of the car she looked over at her friend before addressing her brother.
"Show off"
But before she could say anything about what Tryvon said, she noticed that Rouges face was about the same color as her hair. Seria kind of knew that she had a crush on one of her brothers but she thought it was Ren or Trinton. Had no idea it was Tryvon.
"Rouge honey, you have a little drool."
The captain said teasing her friend. Knowing that she probably would get her back before she left. Knesos turned her attention to her brother as she motioned for them to start moving toward the office. Looking up at her older brother throwing a speculation out about the meeting.
"Do you think he's finally going to retire?"
The woman inquired to her brother. "Father retire, there's a better chance of Proter getting married than dad retiring." Tryvon said making Seria bust into laughter. It was true their brother Proter had the worst luck with girls but they weren't going to discourage the boy. "Oh and Rouge its great to see you again" Tryvon said smiling at the redhaired woman.
