Character name:
Aldrick Von HammersteinCharacter race: Human
Character class: 39th level Shadowmage
Character description:[/center]
Physical: Aldrick is a well built man, having honed his upper body from years of Blacksmithing, as swinging the hammer and forging the armor for days on end did improve your upper body strength. Shoulder-length black hair cascades down from his head, while a nicely trimmed beard covers his lower face. His eyes that were once azure blue are now a blackish purple, shining with madness and darkness, showing his true nature beneath the benevolent facade of a Bishop of the Light. His skin is slightly more pale now than it was in his earlier life, having been confined to catacombs and tombs for most of his time within the Cult, scheming and plotting against all of Azeroth in the name of his Dark Masters.
Armor: When Aldrick is in the presence of commoners and people not affiliated with the Cult, he wears a fine brown leather jerkin with a brown undershirt and a pair of black cloth pants with black leather boots. His Cultist outfit, however, is far more sinister, being comprised of a heavy robe that is covered with black and gray colorations that even seems to absorb light, making the area around him significantly darker than everywhere else. Atop his shoulders lie pauldrons the same color as his robes, but droop down towards his chest and is adorned with a pair of massive violet jems. Over his head he wears a heavy hood, which completely conceals his upper face, revealing only his jaw and chin while his eyes glow a bright purple in the darkness.
Weapons:Aldrick wields a massive staff of darkness and shadows, which seems to have a mind of it's own as it would defend it's master when his attention is diverted elsewhere. From the staff of shadows he can fire a stream of shadow energy in a straight, pinpoint line, which can literally tear through lesser opponents with ease as their bodies are torn asunder by darkness.
Other Equipment: He also carries a Talisman of the Twilight's Hammer, which has a magical enchant on it that increases his charisma and persuasion skills, allowing him to make people believe him and to an greater extent make them see his vision of Azeroth, and possibly even join the Cult.

Character Story:
Aldrick was born into a wealthy family years before the First War, whom resided in a estate near Grand Hamlet. Of course Aldrick's father, Montique, was abusive of his mother, Bella, and his older sister, Elizabeth. He constantly would verbally, physically, and sexually abuse both Mother and Sister, while neglecting Aldrick completely. Aldrick lived in fear of his father for years, fearing his wrath during his drunken rages, and watching in horror as his own sister and mother were raped violently by him. During one fateful night however, Bella slew Montique in his sleep, and fled with Aldrick and Elizabeth northward, taking a boat to Lordaeron to find a new future there, and get away from the memories and horrors of what Aldrick's father had wrought. They managed to settle down in a nice cottage on the border of Silverpine and Hillsbrad, and finally the family found rest and peace, using the family wealth to get by, but living a more modest life-style than their previous one. Aldrick got more closer to his sister Elizabeth, forming a close friendship between the two that made them inseperable. Their lives were seemingly perfect.
A few years passed and the First War occured, Aldrick was twenty-two at this point, having lived with his Mother and Sister for years after they fled the South. They had a modest business, Bella and Elizabeth baked while Aldrick became a blacksmith, forging armor and weapons for various clients, earning himself a steady income of copper, and occasionally silver. That's when he was approached by a man known as Lord Zack Blackthorn, a wealthy landowner whom sought out various Blacksmiths and other tradesmen to work for him, to craft armor, weapons, and other materials. Aldrick was offered a heafty sum for his contribution, and he readily accepted, hoping that maybe this would be his lot in life. He was taken to an estate high in the mountains, where he worked for Lord Blackthorn in his forges within his estate, crafting armor and weapons. He didn't ask what they were for, he didn't care, he was getting paid and that was all that mattered. Over the course of a few months Aldrick discovered what these were being made for, a private army that Lord Blackthorn was trying to build up to take over the Alliance. A rather insane and suicidal prospect, but Lord Blackthorn didn't seem the most stable man in Lordaeron, and Aldrick knew he had to stop him before something bad happened.
He told his findings to the other workers, whom most had pride in their heart for Lordaeron, except for one... Izikio, who hated the Royal Family and would do anything to see them fall. So, like the sneaky rat he was, Izikio told Lord Blackthorn, who in a rage slaughtered nearly all of the Blacksmiths and workers, except for a few, including Aldrick. He imprisoned them in his dungeons, with no hope of freedom or escape, and hired new workers to continue to forge his materials. Luckily the Second War exploded, and not long into it Blackthorn's estate was discovered by the Horde, and was raided. Blackthorn himself was slaughtered and so was nearly everyone within the Estate, the ones who did survive fled to the dungeons, where the Orcs couldn't find thanks to the entrance being hidden and unknown to the invaders. The survivors freed the imprisoned lot, who all banded together and escaped the estate via the cellar, and then they fled into the Alterac Mountains, seeing refuge in Strahnbrad. There they found out what had happened, an alien race known as the Orcs had entered Azeroth through a rift known as the Dark Portal, they had razed everything from the Black Morass to Stormwind, destroying the once majestic city in the process.
After a few years of stagmentation, the Horde was on the move again, and moved up through Azeroth, attacking from the Land and the Sea. Khaz'modan felt their rage, and so did Hillsbrad, Aldrick feared for his family, but when he tried to go see if they were okay he was stopped by others, telling him that it would be suicidal for him to go there now, and that they were probably already dead. Distraut, Aldrick fled to Andorhal where, without any money, he found himself fighting to survive. He'd steal, he'd mug, he'd do everything he could to just try and survive. While he was mugging one of the citizens, he was captured by the Andorhal Guard, and tossed in prison for his crimes of theft and assault. In prison he was molested repeatedly by other inmates, and as to take his anger and frusteration out, he began to practice self mutilation and gouged himself with his own nails. Soon after weeks of abuse he began to take charge, beating the living shit out of a few inmates to prove his dominance, that he wasn't going to be their bitch, they would be his.
Finally after two years he was released from Prison, a hardened man and seemingly without compassion or pity, even though he wasn't in there for as long as most people, it really got to him. He decided to join with other inmates who were released, and formed a quote unquote 'gang', who began to ambush travelers in Lordaeron and steal their belongings, and sometimes would kill them. Soon Aldrick became the Kingpin of a group of Highwaymen known as the 'Death's Vengeance', and had become notorious throughout Lordaeron, for there savagery and little to none witness count. The Second War had ended awhile earlier, with the rest of the Orcs being mopped up in the South, which gave Aldrick and his gan nearly free reign on the trade roads around Lordaeron, and their influence soon expanded to near Stromguard. Aldrick was known as 'The Kingpin' officially, for few knew his real name, and he ruled over his fellow gangmembers with an ironfist. However his reign was toppled when Lordaeron finally got their shit together, and rallied together and sent out manhunts to either capture to slay members of the Gang. Luckily Aldrick evaded death or capture, and decided to lay low, changing his appearance and name, and opening a business, and the trade of his business was what he was best at, blacksmithing.
His shop was located in Southshore, where he quickly became well known as an experienced blacksmith, and gained many friends and was known across Hillsbrad. He thought that perhaps he could finally live in peace again, run away from his criminal lifestyle, settledown, find a nice girl, start a family even! Finally for once in years he was really happy, out of his depression and brooding, and he was ready to actually do some good even. During his time there he met a nice woman named Eliza, and they instantly connected, and fell in love. They soon moved in together, and not long after, were married. On the verge of the Third War, Aldrick discovered who Eliza really was. She was infact his sister, Elizabeth, who had shortened her name to Eliza not long after Aldrick moved away to work for Lord Blackthorn. Sickened by the fact that he had not only married his own sister, that he had also... had sexual intercourse with her, and that fact alone made him sick to his stomach. He told Eliza the truth he had uncovered, but she confessed to him that she had actual feelings for him when they lived together, and that it didn't matter if they were siblings, love couldn't be contained by such formalities. Aldrick agreed, but was still a bit disturbed by it all, but in the end he agreed with his sister, and continued to love her as his wife.
The Plague in Lordaeron broke out and quickly the citizens began to fall to the mysterious disease, however Hillsbrad remained relatively safe from infection, but tensions were high as reports of the dead... rising from their own graves spread. Aldrick quickly forged new weapons for himself and his wife Eliza. Luckily again the Undead didn't go far enough down to Lordaeron, so Southshore remained untouched by nearly all of the calamity gripping Lordaeron. Reports came in of Andorhal's downfall, of Stratholmes, of the Prince of Lordaeron, Arthas Menethil's trip to the icy continent of Northrend to track down some sort of demon responsible for that plague. Finally Aldrick and Eliza lowered their defenses and returned to their peaceful lifestyle, when disaster struck all of Lordaeron a few months later. Prince Arthas returned from his voyage, triumphant in his mission, but the happy occasion quickly turned into a flight for life filled with bloodshed and carnage. Arthas slew his own father, and unleashed a massive Horde of Undeath across Lordaeron, toppling the Capital within a few hours.
Soon Lordaeron began to crumble under the assault by the undead horde known as the 'Scourge', Aldrick and Eliza went to fight against Undead who swarmed down into Silverpine, and quickly found that this new foe was unlike anything they had come across before. They never stopped coming, over and over again they swarmed the defenders, and Lordaeron could not call on Gilneas for aid, for they had sealed themselves behind a massive wall, secluding themselves from everything. Aldrick and Eliza fought with others who wanted to stop this unholy horror, and although many of them fell, Aldrick and Eliza seemed to be an unstopable tag team duo against them. But their luck would soon run out, as tragedy struck, they were ambushed by a flock of ghouls, they however were commanded by a Necromancer, whom seem to outsmart nearly all of the living defenders, whom were forced to flee for their very lives as their line was crushed. Aldrick and Eliza ran for the safety of Southshore, but they were stopped when the Undead finally caught up to them.
Aldrick and Eliza fought hard, but in the end Eliza fell under a massive swarm of ghouls, and was torn apart violently before Aldrick's very eyes. He was forced to flee, but he couldn't return to Southshore as the swarm of Undead began to cover everything, so he took refuge in Dalaran, who had raised an aura to slay any undead who dared come in range. Finally he was safe again, but grieved over the loss of his sister and wife, and fell into a deep and dark depression, and soon slipped into madness. Aldrick fled Dalaran a few hours before the Scourge invaded, not knowing that they would of course, but his madness and depression over the loss of his one true love forced him to leave all known society, and flee into the wilderness. Aldrick made his way south, through Hillsbrad and into the Arathi Highlands, where he fought off numerous wild beasts and a few highwaymen. After wandering for hours he found himself nearing Dwarven Lands, and after running into a Dwarf patrol he was taken to Thelsamar for questioning of why he was so far away from Human lands. He told them of the plight, which had gripped Lordaeron, and the destruction of many of the Human lands. Of course the Dwarfs that captured him were skeptical, but Aldrick's story was soon validated by other Dwarves who had known about it for some time, and Aldrick was allowed to go free.
He traveled to Dun Morogh where he took residence up in the Inn at Kharanos for a few months, slowly recovering from his depression and slight madness, and soon enough he was well enough to travel again, and he traveled up to Menethil Harbor with a Dwarven escort, and took a boat to Stormwind. There he set up another blacksmith shop, he really didn't know anything else, and blacksmithing was his passion since he was a young adult. During his time in Stormwind he was approached by a mysteriously robed man, who's name was sooned found out to be Xehas, and told him of a better life for Aldrick than working in a Blacksmith the rest of his life. He told Aldrick that he could be given powers beyond his comprehension, powers that wouldn't make him weak anymore, powers that could save future loved ones. Thinking on how he was unable to save Elizabeth, he eagerly accepted Xehas' proposal, and he was whisked away to a small household overlooking a lake in Elwynn Forest. There the mysterious robed man began to teach Aldrick the ways of both Light and Shadow, the ways of Priest and Warlock. He would learn to harness the healing powers of the Light, but also harness the destructive and lethal powers of the Shadows, making him a force to be reckoned with.
Years would pass as Aldrick learned under Xehas, whom soon over the course of that training informed him of his allegiance, the Twilight's Hammer Cult, once a clan in the Orcish Horde ruled by the Ogre Mage Cho'Gall. The Clan had survived the war, and went into hiding, and soon began to recruit members from both the Alliance and the Horde, becoming far more than it previously was, although it's purpose remained the same. To be the harbinger of Armageddon on Azeroth, to bring the end of the world... the apocalypse, and soon... Aldrick began to agree with this idea, it all became clear to him! This world was pitiful enough as it was, it needed to be returned to the primal and chaotic form it was, ruled by elements and beings far powerful beyond mortal comprehension. Aldrick was soon official inducted into the Twilight's Hammer, becoming one of it's most prominent infiltration agents. While the Horde and Alliance delt with the Legion and Illidan in Outland, Aldrick was scheming and rising through the ranks of the Church of the Light, becoming a Bishop by the time of the War against the Lich King. Although he did participate in the War as a healer, he mostly stayed behind in the settlements, and occasionally met with his agents and betters in plotting with the Cult that was stationed in Ahn'kahet, and near Ulduar.
Soon the Lich King was slain, and not long after the Cataclysm began! This was a crucial point for the Cult, as they fully launched all their grand schemes, Cho'gall ruling from his massive citadel in the Twilight Highlands, while the Twilight Father and Aldrick plotted against the Alliance from their positions in the Church. Recently Aldrick had been captured by a Warden named Lexariel in Kalimdor, but thanks to a force of Cultists and Twilight Drakes, he was freed and fled back to the Eastern Kingdoms, with the Warden hot on his heels. During his time in Elwynn he met a servitor of the Old Gods, a man named Crucious, who wielded both the Shadows and the Unholy art of Necromancy, and could raise beings back from the realm as the dead, as neither living or undead, but something more. Aldrick and Crucious formed an uneasy alliance, Crucious having nothing to do with the Hammer, but still working towards the same objective. Recently it's been said that Aldrick had taken some sort of 'Beast' from Un'goro, and has been experimenting on it... deep within a cavern beneath the Twilight Highlands.
Weaknesses:
-Volatile: Aldrick is rather hot-headed and quick to aggression, which can get himself in sticky situations which could have been avoided if he had a clearer head.
-Arrogant: Aldrick is extremely arrogant, believing himself an unfailable being, and his schemes and creations unstopable, and he makes everyone aware of it.
Strengths:
-Insanity:: Aldrick's criminally insane mind can make him unpredictable, and if he does come predictable, he can change his tactics before you could even fully uncover the first. This makes him rather hard to track or be one step ahead.
-The Shadows: The flipside to Aldrick's power is his mastery of the shadows, he can conjure familiars to aid him in battle, and move through the very shadows themselves to travel faster. He can even use both Light and Darkness at the same time to rain havoc upon his enemies.
Extra:
Personality: Aldrick is not a very sane person, although he can conceal his madness extremely well when in public and while incognito and blending in, but of course in private and mostly among his fellow cultists his insanity is revealed. What mostly has caused this madness is the constant abuse of the Shadows on which he was gifted with by his superiors, and the constant reminder of all of his failures, most notibly letting his Wife (And biological Sister) Elizabeth be slaughtered by the undead Scourge in Hillsbrad. He even has nightmares of those events that play endlessly, leading him to get little sleep. He's also very violent, and barely ever gives his underlings a second chance, unless they still prove useful as a pawn in his schemes, but if not he will quickly slay them... or worse. He's calculating, sadistic, all wrapped up with a craving for pain on others on on himself that forces him to go to lengths just to cause said pain, even carving scars onto his body on a daily basis. One of the other things he's grown to do is rape others, whether it be men or woman, since his time in prison so very long ago he hasn't cared, and since his time in the Cult he's just referred to everyone and everything as just that... things... meaningless lives that can be cast away or abused and misused without remorse or hesitation.
Abilities:
Shadow Tendrils: Aldrick can summon forth tendrils of black shadow to do his bidding in a variety of ways. From moving multiple objects to ripping an opponent limb from limb, this is one of his most well used and deadliest abilities.
Shadowbolt: One of the basic Dark Spellcaster abilities, Aldrick can form a ball of pure, destructive shadow in his hands, and launch it at his opponents. He can also change the degree of power in the bolt, from a smoldering burn to a large explosion of shadow energy.
Shadowmotion: Aldrick can completely encase himself in shadows, and travel various distances as a massive cloud of darkness. He can also use this in combat to evade attacks and flank enemies.
Shadowfuse: Aldrick can fuse with the shadows around him, and escape from sight. While in this form, Aldrick can do the following:
Clones: Aldrick can create shadow clones of himself while fused to the Shadows, able to confuse and distort enemies, allowing him to get in the finishing blow while they are distracted.
Shadow-Well: Aldrick can summon forth massive circular masses of Shadows, which can entrap and begin to burn and devour enemies. A very devastating ability.
Pillar of Darkness: Aldrick can move his shadow form underneath a target, and summon a pillar of shadow energy in a straight line upward, dealing a varying degree of damage depending on the victim.
Summon Guardian: Aldrick can turn his Staff into a shadowy being, which will protect and fight for him to the death. The Guardian has the following abilities:
Shadowbolt: A basic Shadowbolt.
Gripping Shadows: The Guardian can meld into the shadows, and will move around the battlefield, choosing a perfect victim (or one if there is only one). Once chosen, the Guardian will burst from the shadows, and wrap it's arms around the victim, sucking the life out from it.
Detonate: When the guardian has held onto an enemy using Gripping Shadows, it can then (under Aldrick's orders) explode in a massive detonation of shadow energy, which will completely destroy the Guardian's corperal form, and even the enemy it was holding, as well as a massive 20 yard radius around it. Once the explosion reaches it's climax, it will reverse, and implode, sucking any remains with it's death. However, the Guardian will reform after an unknown period of time.
Shadow Shield: Aldrick can summon a circular shield around himself, which is about 10 yards wide and 5 yards tall.
