((OOC---This takes place three days after Dan accepts Onna as his padawan in the thread "Acceptance".))

Dan sat in the corner of the room legs crossed and eyes closed, the images running though his head where of the battle of Thila. It had been the first time sense he had returned that he had actually gotten a chance to meditate on what had happened there. He wasn't even in the mediation chambers, but in the training halls, overseeing his new Padawan Onna Jarsin's Training. She was working on the final test for the day, simple saber training with another bot, it was on a difficulty that was equally to her own so it gave a challenge.

He was proud of his first student, so far she seemed to take to Dan well and grasp his teachings. He was having a surprisingly easy time teaching her as well; though not much could be said as of yet, it had after all only been a handful of days sense the two had met, and he hadn't even really taught her anything of real importance. Training her seemed to be the easy part, it was the actually teaching that Dan hadn't even touched on yet.

Dan's eyes opened for a moment, they had been shut for so long now that they weren't used to the brightness of the training halls. After letting them adjust again, he was able to see Onna in her circle dueling the droid, he could tell from advancements that Onna was making against the training bot, that it would be a few more minutes before she would defeat the droid. Dan stood and approached the dueling ring, and by the time he had made it to the circle that was painted on the floor Onna had defeated the droid.

Dan's deep voice broke the momentary silence, Good work. But, i think that's enough for today, both of us deserve a break and you look tired. Dan said, truth be told, he was tired too, they had arrived only about an hour ago, and had only done small exercises, the duel with the droid she just had was actually the hardest thing she had done all day. I plan on eating right now, if you want to come along too... Dan said stopped a few feet in front of her and waited for her answer.

Onna wasn't have that hard of a time betting the droid. The droid was her own skill level so she knew all she had to do was play it smart. The duel took a few more seconds when she hit the droid for the final time. She had thought that it had been a good fight on her part but she wanted to wait for what Dan had to say before she said anything. When Dan didn't say anything she just took it as a win. Onna thought that she a looked good enough the last couple of days, but she hadn't learned anything new and she was waiting to. She knew that she had to way it for when Dan did teach her something new.
When Dan asked her is she wanted to go get something to eat she actually had to think about it. Although it hadn't been long since she had been Dans padawan but in those few days she hadn't gotten very much time to herself. She knew this was the life of a Jedi but she wanted to just sit and think by herself for a little while. Even though Onna wanted to have this time to herself she had a felling that she should do it some other time.

Onna was hoping that it didn't sound to much like she didn't want because she wanted to learn more and she figured now was as good as time as ever. She did want some time to herself but she knew she need to learn everything she could if she wanted to survive in the universe.

Yes! I would love to. Onna replied to Dan's question, Dan held his hands behind him and gestured his head for her to follow. He turned and began walking for the exit of the training hall. While in the halls of the temple there was no conversation that took place until Dan pulled out a Datapad, on it was a download of lightsaber construction information, he handed it to her without looking to her, as he spoke his mind was still absent, You work well with a training blade, i believe it is about time you start researching your saber construction, you'll need more then a training blade on some of my missions... Dan said remembering his missions he has had in the past, no sooner then he stopped talking did they make it to the lunch hall. Dan could smell the food and could tell that the lunch period had started, he smelt toasted Nerf sandwiches, and Bantha Burgers, he was hungry, but not as much as normal, he had done some self training early this morning, and had planned and some more later tonight, but for now he wanted a short break.

Dan got a Nerf Sandwich, some soup, and a simple glass of water for his lunch, he was sitting at the table before Onna was done getting her food, so he started eating while thinking of something for a conversation until she got to the table, awkward silence was something Dan always tried to avoid.

You work well with a training blade, i believe it is about time you start researching your saber construction, you'll need more then a training blade on some of my missions...

Onna was surprised by this statement. She didn't even think about lightsibers because most padawan didn't get one in till many years of being a padawan. The more she thought about it the more it did make since. A lot of Dan's missions were dangerous and she needed to be able to protect herself and sometimes a training saber wouldn't cut it at times.

While she got her food she thought about how she would even start researching how to make one. She had never thought about making one for she thought that it would be many years in till she was going to be able to make one.

Onna grad her food and then looked for Dan because she had been thinking hard and not paying much attention to anything else. When she spotted Dan she slowly walked to him because she was trying to think of a conversation starter. Most of her life had been filled with awkward silence because she wasn't very good at starting them.

Were would I start researching my lightsaber construction?

She asked as she started to sit down. This was a question that was looming in her head. Onna really had now idea were to start. So were better to start then her own master.

Dan was well into his soup when Onna got to the table and asked her question as she sat down, Were would I start researching my lightsaber construction Dan swallowed the mouth-full he had in his mouth before answering, The data pad i gave you has most of the basics, but if you want advanced information you'll need to visit the library. Dan pointed out before adding, I don't expect you to get all the research done in one day by the way, take your time, there's a lot to study up on. He took another mouth full of the warm soup before continuing on the current topic. If you need any research help just ask, i think i remember most of it from when i made mine. Another thing to keep in mind is what forum you plan on following, and don't rush a choice either. Dan said almost quoting his master's exact words when Dan started his saber construction.

Dan raised the bowl to his mouth and drank the remaining soup down, he took a drink of the water to wash it down, then a bite of his sandwich. He was surprised at himself that he was so hungry, but hadn't even done any work yet today. Then he attempted a friendly conversation with Onna, What did you get? He said peering to her tray for a second. So far Dan had decided the two where a lot a like, at least had a lot of the same ideas and as far as he could tell, she had a sense of humor too. Yet getting simple conversations through was difficult, Dan guessed that this was due to her background. Things would change with time though, he thought that as long as he kept friendly conversations, jokes, and kept himself open and approachable, she would eventually come out of her shell.

What did you get?

This question through Onna off guard for she wasn't even sure what she got. She had been thinking so much about a lightsaber that she hadn't even realized what she had gotten to eat. She looked down at her food to she what she had graded. It look like a Nerf sandwich a baked starch almost like a potato and also a salad with some type of meat in it that tasted like chicken with some dressing mixed in with it. For a drink she got some citrus juice.

Well lets see here......looks like a Nerf sandwich....some type of starch and a salad apparently. Not really sure why I grade these things.

The more Onna look at her food the more she didn't know why she grade the things she did. She liked salad but she really wasn't in the mood for it. The starch didn't look very appetizing and she didn't even like citrus juice. The only good part about it was the Nerf sandwich. Onna started to eat her sandwich and took a few bits of her salad. She tried to think of something to say to Dan but nothing was really popping into her head.

Her mind kept wondering. She thought about the busy past few days. It had all happened so quickly. Onna had became a padwan so quickly it was really just a blur now. But who was she to complain it had been her dream to become her padawan and she had never even thought about it happening so fast it just had. She was grateful because she knew that it didn't happen everyday that someone come along and became your master. This really was a once in a life time chance.

Then Onna came back to reality. She picked up her juice looked at and it put it back down. Do you want my juice?

Dan nodded while listening to her list off the food on her plate. Dan continued on his food for all of about 30 seconds before Onna asked another question, this time one that Dan hadn't anticipated, Do you want my juice? Dan looked to the drink that Onna had gotten, Uhh...Well i have a drink, if not thirsty then alright. Dan shrugged grabbing the juice, Juice for lunch, you strike me more of a Tea or soda type but alright. Dan smiled before taking a drink from the new glass.

He was already almost done with his food, Onna wasn't though, Dan continued the conversation, or well, went with another topic, Sense you got the rest of the day off, what where you planning for the day? Dan asked trying to get a conversation to stick, he was literally and intentionally choosing questions that couldn't be answered with a simple "Yes" or "No". The sooner the two got through to eachother, the sooner they could begin to trust eachother, with their past. This was something Dan firmly believed was needed in a Padawan/Master relationship.

Sense you got the rest of the day off, what where you planning for the day?

Onna thought for a minute she thought that she had needed a little time to herself but now that she did she didn't know what to do with the time. She had all ready trained for the day that morning so she felt like she should do something else with her time.

Well since you want me to start researching the consruction of my lightsaber I thought I would at least get started on that, but other then that I don't know.......... I might walk around the temple for a little while it has been sometime since I have done that.

Onna thought about how she wanted her lightsaber to look like she hadn't looked much into it so she didn't know all the details but it didn't stop her from wondering. She thought back to the day when she had meant day. It had been one of the few times she had seen Dan's lightsaber. She wonder what it felt like to hold one. She had the general idea of how it felt from training sabers but she knew that it would feel different. It would be her own.

Onna finished her food and then looked at Dan What do you have planed for the rest of the day?

Well since you want me to start researching the construction of my lightsaber I thought I would at least get started on that, but other then that I don't know.......... I might walk around the temple for a little while it has been sometime since I have done that. Dan thought it was good she was eager to get started on her assignment. But he thought it was better that it was her who actually continued the conversation this time, What do you have planed for the rest of the day? Dan sat back a bit in his chair before answering, Well, i was thinking of some practice flights later on, then some personal training at the end of the day. Dan thought a little further, he looked forward to his practice flights, looking down on the planet from space was always amazing, he loved the view.

Dan thought of something to bring up while on the topic of off duty time, I recommend you do something for yourself as well, stress makes it hard to concentrate, if you're planing on studying you may want to have done some sort of relaxing, perhaps the gardens? Dan said trying to be helpful.

Onna thought that she might do something like that for she has needed something that would bring the stress level down. Also she thought she needed some time out side. Very little had she breath the fresh air. It had been a rough few days. She often found herself longing for the fresh air. Even though it wasn't very fresh with all the speeder flying by. The temple was the area with the cleanest air. She thought that even though she wasn't aloud to leave the premises of the temple with out permission from Dan she still could at least get some fresh air in some areas.

I might go to the gardens. If not I will find something to do for myself I promise.

Onna almost envied Dan for being able to leave the temple. Being able to go into space and look at the planet from the view of his fighter. Ever since Onna had come to the temple she had always wanted to leave. She wanted to go make a difference not be stuck in the temple learning things but Onna knew that she must stay and learn or she would never be able to help any one expect someone asking for a few credits.

Then like ever since Dan had mentioned it Onnas mind went back to a light saber. How did you know how you wanted to make your lightsaber?

By this time he had completly finished all the food, including the drinks. Then she asked another question, a more personal one that dived into Dan's Back story a bit. How did you know how you wanted to make your lightsaber?

Dan thought for a second, before answering, Well, I always wanted a lightsaber sense i first saw a saber duel diminstrated as a youngling. I'd probably say, at sometime i tried to turn my training blade into a actual lightsaber, to no success of course. But when i knew what i wanted for my lightsaber was when i saw my masters saber... Dan pulled the lightsaber that belonged to his master years ago off his belt and let Onna get a good look at it. Each Jedi knows what his saber will be in their own time. You will too. Dan said putting the saber back in it's place on his belt. He hoped that answered her Question, otherwise he just looked like a wierd guy with a beard.

Onna looked at Dan saber. It look so amazing. The were no word to explain how amazing it really was. She had seen it before but never this close. At that moment Onna knew there was nothing she wanted more then to hold her own lightsaber. She knew that every kid hoped at one point or another to hold a lightsaber. Onna knew that she was going to be one of the few that was going to not only hold one but own one.

Onna thought for a long moment. She start to get a feeling that she would have no problem being able to know what she wanted in a light saber. She knew that the feeling was the force and along with some help from Dan she would have no problems making it. Onna thought about how she would further then conversation. There wasn't really an important question sh had to ask him and nothing was really coming to mind.

So Onna furthered her thoughts into making a light saber. She thought about how it would fell he light saber. How she could make it move with her. Onna knew that most of these question would be answered when she research it farther.

Do you think we will be on any missions any time soon.Onna knew that it really was a random question but she was wondering this.

Do you think we will be on any missions any time soon. Dan thought this was a radndom-ish question, which was good, it ment Onna was trying to keep the converstion going. Dan didn't even need to think long for an answer. Hard to tell when my next mission will be, but i wanger it won't be to long. Dan said, this was true, the counsil did often make good use of Dan, so it wouldn't be long, and Dan knew this.

Dan thought it was a good time to asl Onna a few spacific questions about herself, You plan on being a Sentenal? Dan asked, if so, Dan's training could be a lot more benafitial for Onna, and a bit more easy on Dan too. Dan also noticed how Onna was exited about her saber, after all who wouldn't be? He was, his master before him was, millions of Jedi Padawans in history where too.

You plan on being a Sentenal?

This was actually a question Onna had meditated on. For she knew that she was soon going to have lean towards what she wanted to become. It had always been between to of them. A Jedi Sentenal and a Jedi Guardian.

I have thought long and hard about this.......I think that I want to become more a Sentenal that leans towards lightsaber forms a little bit more then the force.

Onna thought that this was really the best fit for her. She could lean toward one side of it but still almost be balanced. Onna thought that it would fit the way she wanted to live the rest of her life also.

What was your first mission as a padawan.

I have thought long and hard about this.......I think that I want to become more a Sentinel that leans towards lightsaber forms a little bit more then the force. Dan nodded, Much like myself. Dan said, then after a couple of seconds of silence Onna asked another question. What was your first mission as a padawan. Dan had to think for a few seconds; he had been on so many over the years that it was hard to think.

Dan started with a cross between a sigh, a breach exhale, and a groan. Well... I had a lot of them shortly after i became a padawan, but if i remember right, it was a escort mission, something i think will be similar to your own first mission. Dan said, it was highly likely that her mission would be something less dangerous, until she finished her saber that at least.

Dan looked to his clean tray, then to the clock. He gave a bit of a sigh, Well, I'm done with my food, how about you? If so, perhaps we could get going? I could help you find the books for saber training before we go on with our day.

Onna thought about what he said for only a few seconds for she knew what her answer would be.

In all honesty that would be great because I have no idea where to really start. Onna said with a smile.

They both got up and threw away there garbage and put there tray with all the other dirty trays and walked out of the cafeteria. They walked into a long hallway that had a few twist and turns before they would get to the library. She thought about what books Dan would pick out and what they would teach her. He could pick out a book that told her the would the best way to build around speed or strength.

There were so many different ones he could pick out. All she knew was that she needed to read every word of what ever book or books it was. Onna knew that these books would be important on how she built her light saber.

In all honesty that would be great because I have no idea where to really start. Onna answered, Dan nodded, Alright! He said as he stood and took his trey to the return area. They they made the short trip to the Library. Two floors of nothing but books, Dan remembered that as a child he had thought the walls where actually made out of books, literally every bit of information and history in the known Galaxy could be found in this room. Dan quickly found himself on the second floor, where he picked out three books from memory, the first was that on the basics of lightsaber construction, the second was repair, and the third dealt with the crystals. Dan handed the three books to his Padawan, before walking back to the edge of the floor, and leaned on the rail where he could see most of the first floor.

Dan spoke to Onna, Like i said before, no rush on that, but combined with the Data pad i gave you earlier, this should be more then enough knowledge on the subject to begin collecting materials and the such for your saber. Dan said before leaving his Padawan and walking down the stairs, she had what she needed, for now though, they both needed a break...
