Bio:
Shakiah does not remember much about her past. She was always told she was taken as a baby from her family. For as long as she can remember, she had lived in the Jedi Temple. She would get glimpses of loving faces, and she always saw rain. She’d wake up crying, in the night. Her master would take pity on her, and sit with her and hold Shakiah until she fell asleep. In her training as a youngling, her master taught her many things about battle. But Shakiah’s passion always was somewhere else.
“Master why do we fight? Can’t we all just work it out and make peace?” It was a question she would ask her over and over. And as always, her master would return it with a smile.
“A beautiful heart you have, young Shakiah. You possess more wisdom than many at this young age. We need more Jedi like you.” But being different from the other younglings, Shakiah was always picked on. After being shoved to the ground one day, a stubby little hand helped her up. He had a toothy grin and big green eyes.
“Who are you?” Shakiah’s big blue eyes were curious.
“My name is Jesh, and I want to be your friend.”
It was enough for Shakiah and from then on, they were best friends. Playing games, practicing and protecting each other from the bullies. Jesh showed promise of a guardian when he was older, and Shakiah was showing more promise as a consular. Soon both were old enough to become Padawans and didn’t see so much of each other.
Her missions were always difficult for her. She wanted to make peace, and most times, it would all end up with a fight. On one mission, she watched a people her age were brutally murdered. She looked away with tears flowing. She used what little she had of melee forms to help her master end the trouble and move on, but her heart always ached for the loss of lives. Once on Nar Shadda, she helped heal and calm a wild resident. Using her calming abilities, she managed to get him to lie down so he could get some help. Most Jedi would have defended themselves against him, but She could tell by the wrinkles on his face, he was been drugged of some sort. He wasn’t crazy but simply needed an antidote.. She touched his rough dirty clothing with her eye closed; Feeling the pain that he was going through.
“He’s been drugged. Get the medics!”
Afterwards, she put her lips to his forehead, calming him into a sleep-like state.
Her blue eyes gentle and trusting, he was soon healed of his issues by the medics was soon a respected citizen.
“My young Padawan, what you did back there was extordinary.. You have a gift, child, don’t squander it…”
Shakiah bowed to her “Thank you Master Colmaro. I wish to learn more about my gifts.. I think I can do more good than I can with this lightsaber master.” Master Kamil Colmaro smiled at her Padawan. She had great potential, yet so much confusion in her heart.
As time went on, her nightmares got a lot more prominent. Every so often she gets glimpses of loving faces, and can almost feel the violence that was in her very past. She long ago stopped asking about her past because none of the other Jedi would speak of it.
This of course, had made her very suspicious. Being a bit older now, and a Padawan, She knew something wasn’t right. But no one would talk. Her dreams always consisted of explosions, screaming and shouting. It always ended with a cloaked figure carrying her away. As she got older, she pushed the topic further but none of the Jedi would speak of it. Her Master always told her she was too curious for her own good. The nightmares only got worse from here on out. It started to affect Shakiah's focus to the point where the other Jedi noticed. One dreary day, her master sat her down and told her the truth:
"Your Family's village on Jabiim had been part of an attack. Some Jedi and I had been there to help oversee a peaceful transition but that was not the case. We had managed to find you. We could sense you were strong within the force. Since there was no hope for saving the village, we went back to get you. Your family was already dead, Shakiah. We found you crying in the corner; covered with a blanket. It was only by fate that you survived. You were destined to do good my dear Padawan, don't let your past keep you from becoming the Jedi you were meant to be.... You were so young, so strong in the Force for someone that size. I know you have a longing to be accepted. But don't use that to keep you from doing great things..."
Although she hadn't remembered her family, it was the brutal violence that disturbed her more. How could anyone decide who lives and who dies by the point of a weapon just because they were considered inferior? Her nightmares slowly died down but the pain within; knowing her family was gone still haunted her. Through her pain, she worked hard at learning new kills in healing, calming and even things to heighten her senses to help her understand other’s well. It was a long process and many sleepless nights, but as time went on, she soon got better and more advanced.
Throughout it all, Jesh was always there for her. She had accompanied him on several small missions. Most of them being making sure there was a peaceful transaction, or even just to scout. A while later, she and Jesh were made Knights of the Jedi order, most times though, Shakiah stayed behind at the temple to take care of younglings. They always managed to make her smile, with their gapped teeth and bright eyes, so innocent. She herself wasn’t the best in combat, but her leadership skills and intelligence helped get things done around the Temple. She spent her extra time studying peace and ways to help calm one’s mind and heart. She knew this is what she wanted to do. No more fighting, only peace. But she knew in hear heart, it was going to be a long Journey.

"You hold your lightsaber like this, young one..."
Shakiah was instructing a youngling how to properly hold his weapon. The tiny hands gripped the training saber’s hilt and his little tongue stuck out as he focused on his exercise.
Shakiah tried not to laugh as she watched him swing away, trying to deflect the little bolts of lighting that shot out at him. She knew one day he would grow to become a respected Master of the Order. She looked around as other tiny younglings were practicing the same exercise. Jedi Jesh Tatteni sat across the room instructing them as well. Because of her patience and willingness to train the youngest members of the Order, when she wasn’t away on missions she volunteered to help Jesh train them.
But lately she couldn’t help but noticed he seemed distracted. She knew he was planning on leaving for Utapau system within the day. But there was something else that made her uneasy. There was a dark heaviness that had been weighing on her heart. She was one of the few Masters that were left in the temple. Most of them were eager Padawans and Younglings.
As the Younglings finished their exercises, Jesh commanded them back to their quarters to rest. After they had left, Shakiah and Jesh picked up the room and walked out together.
“Jesh, you’ve been really quiet lately, are you okay?” She touched his arm from him to slow down and wait for her to catch up. With is back to her yet, she could hear him sigh. He turned his handsome face to her, smiling a bit.
“You are a great friend and an asset to the Jedi, Shak. But you can’t expect to fix whatever is wrong with the Order.” He walked over to her, and put his hands on her thin shoulders. Her deep blue eyes met his green ones.
“As a Jedi knight, you still have a lot to learn.”
“Jesh, you can’t bottle it all up inside. The longer you keep it the harder it will be to let go.”
She frowned at the thought of it. She didn’t want to loose him. She knew her feelings shouldn’t be for the other Jedi, or any person for that matter. Jedi were not allowed to love or even be attached.
But Jesh made that hard to resist. His strong jawline, green eyes and blonde hair made it hard to think of him just as a comrade. She walked him to the Entry Way where he was planning on leaving. Jesh pulled Shakiah into his arms, hugging her for a moment.
“Jesh, you better make it home in one piece, you still owe me a duel since I kicked your butt last time.” She winked and smiled.
