Tem bowed to the Council members he was dismissed and headed out of the council chambers. They had called him to inform him that he would be mentoring a young Echani Padawan by the name of Lana Kindari. While the council had stated that he would not be required to take her on as his apprentice and that they felt that she would simply benefit from having some interaction with the Jedi Sentinel, Tem couldn't help but feel that this would become more than a simple mentoring experience. The council informed him about her past, about the loss of her master and her struggles with the darkside, which caused her to leave the order for a time.
Tem knew the pain of losing a master, he had lost his first master when he was a padawan, but the pain of losing Keriolos was nothing compared to the pain of losing Master Felnar just after Tem's knighting. The thought of his second master brought up feelings of loss even now. Heldo was like a father to Tem, making him the Jedi he was today, but at least he had never had to watch his Master be cut down by an enemy, to see them as they ceased to be while being able to see the person responsible, it would be difficult to not be angry, to not want to hate the person responsible.
As Tem was thinking he realized he arrived at Lana's room, but was unsure what he could say to the young girl. After knocked on the door, he tried to think of what he would say to the young padawan, deciding on just telling her the facts and he'd go from there.

Lana reached down into her pocket and victoriously withdrew a ponytail. In a fluid motion, she put her damp-with-sweat silver hair into a simple ponytail, a few locks escaping to hang by her face. She also applied a bit of deodorant under her arms, self conscious of her post-spar odor.
She had just finished a twenty minute lightsaber session with her Suma, her Zabrak friend. She was tired and in need of a shower now, so she made her way directly to her dorm with her robes under one arm.
The Echani Padawan had been training a lot lately. It got her mind off of things. If she was idle for too long, she would begin to feel sad and alone. Ever since Sirius had, she had been in a continuous dreary mood. She had grown so attached to him over the past month, and now she sorely missed him. Lana also resented the new Knight for leaving her.
As of late, however, she was trying to curb her emotional feelings. She was trying her absolute best to follow the code, including the bit about personal attachment. One could only try.
By the time she reached her dorm, it was mid afternoon. However, it seemed she had a visitor. He was a man, possibly Human, with a shock of red hair. He was also tall, very tall. The Jedi (she assumed by his age that he was a knight, perhaps a young master) stood over a foot taller than her, making Lana feel very small.
Politely she approached the man, who was standing in front of he door.
"May I help you master Jedi?"

(Short post is short)
Tem sensed a presence coming toward him and reached out with the force to realize that no one was in the room. The approaching presence was in the hall way with him. Tem turned his goggled eyes to face a young woman, Echani by her looks. His expression softened slightly as he bowed to her.
"Hello, would you be padawan Lana Kindari?" He asked Raising back to full height. As he looked down at her he could almost feel the voluntary numbness she exuded, a practiced calm and forcibly clear mind. He could tell that she had been training from her overall appearance; from her hastily tied hair and perspiration, an obvious sign of recent physical exertion. The Jedi knight waited for her response before speaking again.
"My name is Tem Farelle. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind joining me tomorrow morning for some training?" He said politely.

Lana returned the man's bow with one of her own, giving him the respect that she would give any knight.
"That I am, I'm afraid we've never met."
The senior Jedi introduced himself, but his name didn't ring any bells. It wasn't his name so much that caught her attention, but his question. That was an odd sort of way to get a sparring partner, showing up at their quarters and giving such an up front invitation. She knew that wasn't the case.
This man had likely been assigned to her by the Council, who had promised to find her a qualified mentor. She didn't ask for a mentor, but she would definitely need further training and guidance if she were to ever reach knighthood.
Besides, it couldn't hurt to branch out and make new friends, especially if they could teach her new techniques.
"A pleasure to make your acquaintance Master Farelle. A training session tomorrow morning sounds lovely. Would you prefer lightsaber sparring, or something else?"
