Months, she had been tracking her target for months. Planet to planet, port to port. He always seemed to be one step ahead of the echani, but she had finally caught up with him. It was time to finally collect her bounty.
She tracked her target from a city out into the wilderness. It seems he had only left a day ago, but with his ship disabled from their last encounter, she knew he would not be leaving the planet any time soon. That runaway zeltron would be hers by the end of the day.
She saw smoke in the distance, as the sun began to set. The echani picked up her pace, wanting to make sure she reached the spot just as darkness would fall. And reach it she did, the moonlight illuminating the campsite. And there he was, Malko Parr, former exchange hacker, now runaway, and her payday.
She watched him for a few hours, waiting until he went to sleep, before she struck. Silently, she shifted the nutrient pod on her back, then swiftly slunk into the camp. However, in the darkness, she failed to notice his tripwire, and while she managed to catch herself from falling, the curse that escaped her lips woke up the zeltron, who darted quickly into the darkness.
Daeira cursed again and rushed after him. She would not have him escape her grasp once again. It ended tonight. He would be hers, and she would bring him back to the exchange.
A scream broke the night, coming from the direction she was running towards. She slowed down, the scream making her cautious. Soon a large hole appeared in the ground before her, the moonlight illuminating what was within. Shelves and tables full of scrolls, books, trinkets, all sorts of things. And there, impaled on a stalagmite, was her zeltron, now dead. She sighed and jumped down. At least she could bring them his head.
Slowly, the echani removed the nutrient pod from her back and set it on the table, not wanting to risk knocking it around on stalagmites or stalactites. Satisfied that her prey wasn't going anywhere, she decided to look around. Her hand lightly trailed over the shelves and trinkets as she walked, trying to gauge the value of what was down here. She walked around the cavern two times, before returning to the table and strapping the nutrient pod with her furry friend back onto her back.
She decided to stay in the hovel for the night, it seeming to be a safe enough place, then head back out for the spaceport come day. The echani patted the dead zeltron's shoulder. "See you in the morning." A soft chuckle escaped her lips As she sat down on the floor and leaned against the wall. But try as she might, she could not seem to get comfortable enough to fall asleep. Something just did not seem right to her. So she sat there, eyes open, looking up at the sky.

For years have the Jedi sought out the location of the old hovel and lab of a renowned Grey Jedi Hermit, whose research is rumored to provide great insight into the very nature of the force, both the light and the dark. The location also said to possess great riches, and relics of great personal and unembellished value to the Jedi order. Yet their has only been rumors as to the location of the ancient hovel; thus, the order has had no luck discovering the true location of this sepulcher lost knowledge... Until now...
The Jedi had few resources during their search, and the Republic could not afford to assist as much as the Jedi hoped, mainly thanks to being left preoccupied as a result of the war... Yet within resent months rumors of this hovel's true location were circulating once more; as a result, the Jedi sent Jedi master and Investigator Klon Driviz and four Jedi Researchers to this...
Entry way, they simply searched the area until they found what seemed to be ruins around a cave. They followed the path within, finding writing on the walls and damaged books lining the area. So these discoveries gave reason to involve the republic, who funded a dig around the area, with a small force of armed guards.
After deeper exploration of the cave the Jedi master and his assistants discovered a dead end, in the form of a wall of fallen stones, likely caused by a cave in. The Kiffar Jedi examined the area rather closely and soon found scrapes laying about, rather rusted but seemed to belong to some kind of technology. So the Jedi picked up the broken shards and scraps of metal and opened his mind to the force, unleashing his Psychometry.
Vision: { Looking though the eyes of a round remote droid floating about the very same corridor Klon now stands, the jedi saw the approach of a cloaked elderly man who seemed rather sickly as well. The man seemed to barely have the strength to walk as he approached the remote droid. "Ah, my oldest and most loyal friend... It is time, I don't have much longer... It seems as if this illness will surly take me if I was to stay... I hope you understand... I ask of you one final favor my dear friend... activate your self destruct and seal this place off... The things in this hovel should have been forgotten... I only have myself to blame for attempting to take such priceless artifacts and forgotten knowledge for myself. I was a fool, and I will pay the price for such foolishness... For all things that are lost or forgotten is done so with good reason... Good bye..." Said the old man before walking away, toward the caves exit. With that the droid gave the man one final look before a bright flash of light and a massive boom rang the Kiffar investigator out of his Psychometry. } [Vision Ends]
Klon, although put into a state of bewilderment the Jedi master called the diggers to his position and explained the situation, following a brief discussion they removed the rubble with low grade explosives, effectively punching a hole into the blocked passage. Once the stones were removed the excavation team proceeded with Klon deeper into the cave until coming to a room with a number of passage ways and a stair case.
It was soon decided that the others would search the halls while Klon venture down the stair case. This was decided when the Jedi master noticed the sudden emergence of a new life force in that direction. Dispute the warnings of others present Klon ventured onward, taking a touch in hand the Investigator traveled ever deeper into the cave. On his path was no lighting, only old fashioned oil lanterns throughout the hall, nailed to the wall.
After time had passed he once more found himself at a dead end. Frustrated Klon cursed himself, knowing he felt two energies, one that faded rather swiftly and the other a bit shaken, but not stern behind that great thick wall. Although dispute his frustrations Klon spotted the most curious thing. Laying beneath a mount of sand, only having its face shown visible beyond the droid's grave. the Investigator once again touched a lifeless droid and dove deep into it's memories.
Vision: { A helper droid waiting and looking off into the distance of a well lit hall passage. Behind one could hear the shifting of stones in the background as the droid turns to see, a elderly man and a wall rising from the ground to block what seemed to be a room. "Ah, hello my friend. I am of no need of your assistance today, all I ask is that you wait here as you always do. I will return shortly." Says the man before the vision cuts out.} [Vision Ends]
Klon then stood to look at the wall, and after his composer was regained he touched the wall with not just himself, but the force as well. He used his power to understand how the wall was to be moved and Klon touched the wall with the outreached hand of the force, causing it to slowly open and all things within were revealed beyond the shifting wall segment. He felt the living force within that room in a way that Klon had not in years, and the presence that had entered this hall only moments before he remained.
Lightsaber in hand he saw a large open space cavern like space with spear like rocks on the ground and over head, as well as natural formed pillars and house hold objects lining the area as if in a attempt to make the space livable. The moonlight shining though outshining even Klon's torch much to his surprise; thus, striking Klon with a fit of astonishment. In the distance, the far end of the room he noticed a impelled corpse as well as what seemed to be a lab or library. Littered with literature, trinkets, and artifacts alike, not to be left unsaid the presence of a living being posted behind that desk. "Come out of hiding, for I know you are present!" Said the Jedi with lightsaber in right hand and a torch in left. "I do not wish to fight, I simply wish for you to come out of your hiding place... I am not to be feared intruder, I simply have some questions..." He stood ready for combat in that moment if his little intruder proved hostile Klon was ready to deal with whatever this being may be.
He stood strong and ready, equipped with both of his sabers if he need draw the other, as well as ForceTech Jedi Armor Mk.V, thus he like any wise man in a time of war was not without protection. He had no fear nor motivation to kill, yet he stood ready to slay his enemy should one prove to be so. He stood far out of sight of anything against the wall behind that table, but as close as he could to call out to the other being without attracting attention from outside.
After seconds Driviz choose to promote movement into the open be reaching out to a large storage chest on one of the high shelves behind the table and flipped it over so that it may have fallen on the being on the ground, if not to hit the being but to simply startle it. once that action was settled the sound of shifting stone could be heard once more, causing Klon to swiftly duck behind a pillar and look at the space he used to enter this room had resealed itself, trapping the Kiffar master within with whatever challenge he was sure to face, so he remained on guard and only hoped he was not yet forgotten by the expedition team.

*Round 1*
Hotel Effort: 3/5 Fairness: 5/5 Detail: 4/5 Coolness: 2/5 Bonus: 0/2 Comments: Sufficient for an opener post, which can be difficult from time to time. You do well enough with establishing how and why she's there, and the reasons are believable, which is all I can ask for when you don't have the actions of another to play off yet. Expecting scores to rise as you have interactions to use with your writing.
Timtank Effort: 4/5 Fairness: 5/5 Detail: 4/5 Coolness: 3/5 Bonus: 1/2 Comments: A surprisingly strong start for a first round. Detail was nearly a 5, but the post got a bit muddled toward the end. The visions were a nice touch, and earned you a bonus point. Nice work, Tim.
Total: Hotel - 14 Timtank - 17
Tim jumps out with the early lead, but we're only just beginning. On to Round 2.

((Sorry for the late reply, havent been feeling the greatest))
Daeira had started to drift off into a light daze when something from behind brought her out of it. The echani quickly opened her eyes, just enough to see, as she listened to the footsteps. Just great, all she needed was someone popping in and bothering her rest. Oh well. A sigh escaped her lips, though she tried to pass it off as a light snore.
The moment the table moved, she sprung to action, guard shotos in her hands, twin aqua beams igniting, ready to protect herself. Another sigh left the echani when she noticed the man was carrying a lightsaber himself. At least she knew how to fight force users. Slowly but surely, she moved herself closer till he would just be within range of the ysalmiri on her back.
"I don't know why you are here, but I have no like for Jedi or Sith..." Her eyes never left him, even as she started to circle the man, always careful to keep him within range. The echani didn't want any surprises.
As she moved, she carefully pushed things out of the way with her feet, not wanting to damage anything she had found, making room in case it broke out into a fight, as she figured it would. After all, she had discovered this place, and she could make quite a bit selling it all.
"If you mean no harm, then toss your weapon aside." She moved a bit closer, not waiting to see if he did or not. "Now see, I have a problem. This is my find, and I can guess you are interested in it. So unless you plan to pay me, you need to just turn back around, questions or no questions." She twirled the shotos in her hand, letting him see just how skilled with the weapon she truly was. "Or, you could try and take it all from me, and wind up like my friend back there..." The echani let out a soft laugh, not caring if it intimidated him or not, just that it would distract him long enough for her to strike, did he not either turn around or offer her a fortune for the contents in the room.

This person, this enemy was a young woman, based on her appearance he assumed she was clearly near human and the Kiffar master had some idea of what her race may be. Although the man felt it would be best to avoid assumptions related to the woman's ethnicity. She appeared to be lightly armed, no ranged weapons in plan sight as far as he could tell. Although she held lightsabers something rather astounding for somebody who does not seem to possess the force.
He felt nothing within her, no signs of the force at all... As she moved closer the Jedi felt a shift in the force as he attempted to reach her mind with the force, yet their seemed to be a invisible field protecting her from the gentle touch of the force. No normal person could do this and no man or woman can master any type of lightsaber without the Jedi's training. This woman was all to strange and he could only hope to negotiate a peaceful end to this.
One saber remained in hand as she circled him he watched her closely, she appeared rather jumpy, intend on attacking as soon as she saw a opening. Alas she spoke a unreasonable request, a statement that Klon was even appalled to hear, clearing all doubt of her being of Jedi origins. "Forgive me young lady, but I can not part with this weapon... It is a part of me and I will not cast it away."
Following these words Klon took a few steps back and offered the woman a way out. "My name is Klon Driviz, and I am also sorry to report that the Republic has been working this spot for some time, and the items here would have little value to anybody outside of the Jedi order. So if you would like a fair pay for finding this place I would happily request a finders fee be payed to you..."
The Kiffar master felt that such a offer was unlikely to be accepted so he stood sturdy and prepared for the woman. If she so much as moved forward the golden blade within the Jedi's main hand. He did not seek to end the woman's life but if she so chooses to be executed, so be it... The republic needed these artifacts, no action was to keep Klon and his team from success, this woman is simply one more obstetrical that will crumble in his wake, she must be dealt with if the Jedi master is to be victories, This discovery could change everything for the Republic; thus, Timushii needed to get it. So klon ignites his saber , ready to fight for real

*Round 1*
Hotel Effort: 2/5 Fairness: 5/5 Detail: 3/5 Coolness: 2/5 Bonus: 0/2 Comments: So I expected a bit more this round. Not necessarily in terms of volume, but in what you've been given with Klon and the situation and how you took that and made something happen with it. As far as just being a post, yeah, this is fine. But for this duel, you don't really do much to move things along, which is important. Remember, these duels are short--you're going to be past the halfway mark with the next post. Can't waste a lot of time building up, or if you do, it's got to have some more motion to it.
Lost a point on detail because I can't tell what you meant to do at the end: wheter that inferred strike is something you mean she does or it's something timtank is supposed to take into account, or whether it's just some musing on the part of the writer. Clarity is crucial.
Timtank Effort: 3/5 Fairness: 5/5 Detail: 3/5 Coolness: 2/5 Bonus: 0/2 Comments: Had some drop off between the opener and this post but still decent enough. Much like I told Hotel, you need to move things along and get to making something happen. Conversation is good. Take the initiative. Make some motion.
Total: Hotel - 26 Timtank - 30
Moving along to round 3. Hotel got the luck of the draw of being first and therefore recieving the lengthy talk, but much of what I said there can apply to you both. So come on. Make something fun happen
