Born to a mid level noble family in house pelagia her parents well knew of their house and their own families tendency to the force and when the results of mundane testing returned that she was indeed force sensitive they had the results covered up. Neither of her parents ever made the reason for their choice clear to Zarnia and explanations for it have ranged from the belief of power by having a non-jedi force user in the family to legitimate belief that she would be better off with her family. What every the reason the elder Kup'elun's where not unaware of the view that maybe taken of them by their peers if it was discovered, but where also willing to take the chance of contacting a grey jedi hidden in a almost like a hermit on one of the pelagia's worlds. It was this grey jedi they enticed to train their youngest child and sole daughter Zarnia. Zarnia; who wouldn't begin her training until the age of six, always found her greatest draw to the control of the force an thirst for power was bred into her from the beginning. Through the years Zarnia herself began to become more active in the politics of house pelagia, but her master continued to temper her manipulations for as long as he lived unfortunately he was murdered along with most of the Kup'elun house hold when political opponents of the family within the house set a bomb off amongst the wedding of her eldest brother. Zarnia herself did not manage to escape the blast unharmed, with her spine shattered and her liver damaged she found herself bedridden for months as they where slowly mended.
It was during the time she was healing that between organizing loyal family guards to help track the senders of the bombs and to do more general spying on the other nobles that she constructed her first light saber from the remains of her masters. While her master Or'ban Sealin had taught her the best he could their training had still been done mostly with conventional blades, and his training of her was focused primarily on the use of the force. By the time she had finally finished healing she had obtained a full dossier not only on those that had ordered the hit, but also on the myriad of other political enemies of her family and was prepared to set off to make things the way she believed they should be. Unfortunately a damaged engine nacelle diverted her path forever. Making a emergency landing on a long forgotten Civil war battle field during her and her body guard's search for repair parts for the Freighter she stumbled upon scraps and fragments of the Dark jedi scattered across the world and while the scattered remnants offered little information on those long dead followers of the dark side it still managed to perk the young heiress' interest in these followers and she abandoned the majority of here arms men to continue her plan as she and her closest body guards set out in search of living Dark Jedi.
Traces where not easy to find and little evidence from those in the past existed those that she did find where largely worthless and aimless merely a pittance compared to that old glory and that which she wished to find. Her best lead came in the form of fearful half whispers on the fringes of western republic and she followed these rumors deep into the corporate sector home of the Sith Empire. Here on the world of Kalee she found something of what she searched. Though driven mad beyond measure the Dark follower upon this world held great power. With time she managed to convince the ancient half blind Arkanian to teach her some of what he knew even if it was only though his believing she was apparently some long dead apprentice he had once held (something Zarnia always considered quite pitiful). After nearly four years he simply refused to teach her more claiming she would usurp him once more though angry at the man Zarnia chose to show him great kindness and helped him leave his misery and this world. She returned to her beloved pelagia with a new goal, surly with the universe in turmoil the dark jedi would soon raise again and she would put herself with in it, but first she would have to find a stronger Dark jedi someone who she could remove more secrets from. She pulled her resources gathered her Knights and set off into the universe leaving naught, but a intermediary with the pelagia council and a keeper of her hearth.
