Mal stepped out of his apartment, touching the now cross shaped scar on his cheek, it was something he was still getting used to.Though he guessed that it finally made his face even, the cross scar had to have been an improvement over the single horizontal scar that he used to possess. Mal made sure his blaster was securely clipped to his hip, a habit he had fallen into after his encounter with that lightsaber toting dark Jedi, or Sith, whatever she was. His hand found the vertical scar again, he didn't like it. He was completely helpless against her, and he didn't know how he was supposed to do anything against a Force wielder. He turned down the street and started walking, looking up at the Jedi temple in the distance.
Mal stepped into the transport, leaning against the side and waiting for it to take off. His mind drifted off again, of course he was still focused enough to know what was happening. His mind went over the entire fight again, he had been so helpless, how was he supposed to defend himself against that? Mal shook his head, he needed to get his mind out of the past. He spent the next several minutes standing in the back and watching the people. He couldn't help but chuckle at some of them, people always tended to make him laugh. He enjoyed watching them when they didn't think anyone was watching, picking their nose or other body part. The transport pulled to a stop and caused Mal to look up. He smiled, not able to resist himself at this and moved to the exit, stopping by someone and touching his shoulder. "Hey, that's not cool man. Other people sit in these seats, no snot on them."
Mal stepped off the transport and looked up at the temple, he had never been here before and didn't really expect it to be so big. Then again, he should have known it would be so big, there were hundreds if not thousands of Jedi there that needed to be trained. He sighed, doubting that anyone was actually going to meet him and answer his questions, but he still thought it best to ask. Even if all of this had just hit him five seconds ago, sighing he made the walk into the building. "Um, hello?" Mal looked around, whistling lightly, being careful not to go anywhere he wasn't supposed to go. He didn't want to get in trouble, luckily someone stopped him and pointed him down a path. "The Northwest tower is for the public." Mal nodded his thanks and made the walk around to the correct area.
Mal stepped inside the correct building this time, clearing his throat and looking around. "Hello? I have some questions, if someone isn't busy." He called into the building, looking around some more and trying to decide if he was crazy.

((OOC--- Sorry for getting to this a bit late, been slightly busy.))
Dan had quickly been moving through the halls and heading to an area of the temple that he had rarely been into. Not that he wasn't allowed into it, it's just that he never had any reason to stray to the visitors hall.
Today though, a rather unscheduled event had taken place revolving around the sith, and sense Dan had a little expertise in that area, he had quickly volunteered; not knowing much about what he was going to be doing. So he ran around the last pillar and into the room before looking around.
It wasn't for a minute or so that he realized the out of the ordinary, namely it wasn't a whole class of people, a field trip, or anything of those sorts. But a single man, who had obviously seen a bit of action. Dan walked out a bit shortening the the distance between him and the other man.
Hello there, i assume you're the man who wanted to speak with a Jedi? Other then that this meeting wasn't very formal, so i know little else about what's going on, in truth i was expecting a bit of a class... You're along then?
Dan said before extending his slightly mucky hand, that's when he realized that he hadn't stopped sense working on his star-fighter to clean his hands. Dan sighed a bit. Sorry, i must admit i'm rather unprepared for any questions you might have, still i'll try my best.

Mal blinked as the Jedi walked in, before standing straight, his military training kicking in. "Well I'm not here on official business." His hands moved behind his back, standing tall and at attention. "You see, sir I was recently in an... altercation, with a Sith. I do not mean the soldiers either, this was a full blown Sith, red lightsaber and all." His voice was calm and to the point, and filled with the tone of someone who had spent several years in the military. A tone of voice quite different from the one he had a few moments ago. Mal's mind flashed back over the encounter again, though this time instead of reliving it, he simply analyzed it.
Mal locked his grey eyes on the Jedi before him, his eyes taking in everything that the Jedi had to offer. He started feeling a tingle at the base of his skull, though it was different from the ones he normally felt. This one didn't make him feel like he was about to be killed. This time, his feeling was telling him that he could trust the man standing in front of him. "I'm sorry Master Jedi, I am Sargent Mal Denton, I am a soldier in the Republic Army, but I am here on my own business." His voice was not unfriendly, but he retained a business like tone letting the other man know he was completely serious.
Mal took a slight step closer to the Jedi, his eyes narrowing slightly now, though not in a menacing way. It was more in a way that revealed just how much he was seeking the answers to his questions. "Master Jedi how would I defend myself from the Sith, or a Force user in general?" Mal reached up and tapped the cross shaped scar on his cheek, the vertical half of the scar was an obvious lightsaber scar. "I don't want to be left defenseless again. Not like that, I want to make sure I can protect the innocent."

Dan listened carefully to the man, it wasn't an unusual request, still he had to think on it more, he was after all so far a normal, and though Dan had known of people who managed to take Sith down, but it wasn't an easy task, still something radiated off this man telling Dan he could handle himself.
Dan let out a bit of a sigh before gesturing to the seat at a waiting bench.
Well, as a blade this wasn't exactly something i had ever anticipated on teaching... Dan said as he began walking over to the seat.
For a non Jedi as yourself i would recommend keeping some sort of heavy weapon on you, and keeping a manageable distance from the combatant, having higher numbers with you is always good too. But it's very difficult; even for Jedi, to hold their own against Sith from time to time.
Dan remembered his own encounters on Thila, and latter as one of his friends Cassandra, both fights had been hard on him, physically and mentally.
If though you are ever forced into a close proximity with a Dark Sider, i recommend having some melee training and a weapon like a dagger or vibro sword with you. Still this doesn't guarantee anything. Sith are highly unpredictable, rage filled monsters. This is why i wish the council would be more involved in the war, they are making provisions, but i fear it isn't enough sometimes. The battle of Thila is sadly proof of this.
Dan sat there for a moment thinking about anything off the top of his head that might come in handy for a Sith encounter, Dan thought about what he would do if left without his light saber or with only a uncivil weapon as a blaster, but still very little of it could be translated to a soldier of Mal's type.
May i ask what type of soldier you are? Perhaps this will spark some ideas for me. Dan would have normally been joking this whole time, but he could tell the man had a serous manner about him, and it was obviously close to home for the scarred man.

Mal listened to every word the Jedi spoke carefully, absorbing the knowledge as best he could. He nodded a few times, however he knew the chances of having heavy weaponry on him whenever he came across a Sith was highly unlikely. Especially since he was still working on becoming a member of spec ops. "I can't always have weapons like that at the ready, it's only because I'm military I can legally carry military grade weapons in the first place." Mal didn't mention the military grade holdout pistol hidden up his sleeve, or the few simple modifications he had made to his own pistol.
Mal followed Dan over to the seats and sat down, sighing heavily as he did, absentmindedly scratching at the scar on his cheek. He wasn't exactly the greatest with weapons, he was a fair hand if he was forced into hand to hand combat however. That was likely only to grow as he went through spec ops training. "As it stands, I'm infantry, however I start spec ops training in a few days. In all honesty, I'm only going through the training because I have amazing luck on the battle field." His mind flashed to several memories of himself predicting something before it happened. Mal moved on the bench, getting more comfortable and looking at the Jedi for a few seconds.
Mal touched the lightsaber scar on his cheek, "Yeah Thila." He muttered, remembering the Sith lady he had fought. "Look, Master, I'm a solider. I understand fighting, I'm not going to pretend to understand how the Force works. I only know two things for sure right now, there are things I can do for the greater good..." Mal reached down and caught a kid before he hit the ground, helping the child back up to his feet. "Watch out little one, it's easy to trip." He smiled at the child and waited for him to run away again, his parents catching up quickly. "And that I don't understand how I do that."

Dan sighed trying to figure out how to be better help to the man. Something was sparked when he spoke of his extreme "luck" But Dan ignored this in favor of his next tip. "Perhaps relying on your allies from time to time. It aways helps to have help, and at most a Sith would be able to effectively defend themselves from 20 shooters, and that's talking masters."
Then the amazing happened; Dan prepared to catch a young boy who's mind was faster then his feat, but something strange and rare happened. This Mal beat him to the punch. Dan gave a half grin for a moment, before taking a Medichlorian tester off his belt and keeping it under the table, he set the needle and tried to keep what he was thinking hidden from Mal, trying his best to cloak what he was about to do. If Dan's suspicions where correct, he wouldn't exactly know what his next step would be, he knew the council wouldn't allow training, but it would explain a couple of things and perhaps increase Mal's chances of surviving any further Sith encounters.
Dan then without warning lifted the needle and poked Mal's arm, taking a blood sample and then Dan quickly apologized. Sorry about that, have to test a theory. Dan said before handing him a small synth-skin patch. Dan then stood and walked across the room and plugged the sample into the computer on the other side of the room, he moved his hand to his now bare chin, he still wasn't used to it being shaved, but he had to shave it after Cassandra had scarred his chin. It allowed the saber cut to heal faster without his beard possibly infecting the wound.
Dan stood their and waited for the results unaware of weather or not Mal had moved up beside him or not.

Mal nodded, he knew that having allies by his side would help him, however he didn't want anyone else to risk themselves like that. He also knew that the best chance for survival would be to work with others and even then it still wasn't guaranteed they would win. "So what I'm getting from this, is that spec ops would be best. For spec ops are masters of combat." He sat back, thinking quietly to himself, not even noticing when Dan took out the tester, or started preparing it. He barely acknowlged it when the needle pricked his skin, his other handacting out of pure reflex and reaching out to catch the Jedi's wrist, though only catching the synth skin patch. "Theory?" He muttered, his mind crashing back to reality.
Standing, Mal followed Dan over to the computer, wondering what theory needed to be tested involving his blood. As the computer worked his mind wondered back over several ideas that had been forming before he had been pricked. He didn't want to become like the Sith and kill or destroy all his enemies, instead he was trying to think of ways to capture his enemies. Maybe with distractions, and electricity. Lots of electricity. Of course this is when his mind was once again brought to reality, "Wait... Why do you need my blood?" Mal turned his attention back to the computer, standing to Dan's side slightly to make them both more comfortable. His eyes narrowed on the computer for a few moments, before he looked over at Dan.
"What are you testing for?" Mal finally asked, not even bothering to pause over any speculation. He knew he would find out what his blood was needed for, and for some reason he felt that things were about to change. Something big was about to happen, but whether it was good or bad he couldn't tell. All that Mal knew for sure, was that many of his questions were going to be answered at last. First and foremost, how he always seemed to know when something bad was about to happen. Or how he just so happened to know that something was going to happen today, something big.

Dan's lips formed a slight smile when the computer confirmed what He had come to suspect.
Dan now noticed Mal beside him asking his questions about why he had just been tested. The computer tests positive with a high number of Medichlorians, basically you have force potential, a pretty strong connection considering you've never had any formal force training... Dan removed the tester from the computer and turned back to Mal to begin explaining what had just gone on.
See Jedi appear to have extremely quick reflexes and can react to thing most normal people can't. In reality though, it's just the force telling us how to react, less of reading the future and more a sort of sixth sense. Dan tried to use as many normal terms as he could to explain the process, and he would be surprised if Mal understood "Medichlorians."
Where where you born? Dan asked trying to better understand why Mal hadn't ever been tested before this...

Mal blinked as Dan spoke, not believing it at all. "Whoa whoa whoa, you're telling me I'm some kind of Jedi Force potential guy? Then why wasn't I picked up and trained?" His mind raced quickly, what could this mean? Why was this Jedi saying that he had Force potential? Could it be true? And if so, did his parents know? He would definitely be asking his father about this soon. Shaking his head, Mal turned back to Dan. "I was born on Corulag, it's pretty close to here." He muttered taking a few steps back and thinking. This did make sense, it would explain many things that had happened in his life. His ability to know when danger was coming, his reflexes, why he knew that Twi'lek back on Thila was bad news just from looking at her. Plus, why would a Jedi lie to him?
Mal suddenly stood straight, and turned to look at Dan. "What can I do? I mean I've never heard of an adult joining the Jedi, and in all honesty, I'm not worthy to be a Jedi." He also wanted the option of having children one day. He took a few breathes, pushing all doubts from his mind, it all made perfect sense. He'd always been lucky, always been different, now he understood it he could use the Force. Even if he had never purposefully used the Force, he had the potential, he could learn somehow. Even if he didn't know how he would learn, then something else occurred to him. "Wait.. I've served with Jedi, and fought against the Sith. Why hasn't someone noticed and told me before? I mean, I must have unknowingly used the Force many times around someone, so it just seems odd to me."
Mal sighed again, absentmindedly running his finger along the scar on his cheek, his mind running over the possibilities he was capable of now. After seconds of this however, he pulled his mind back, he was getting far ahead of himself. He had to be careful, the Force was something not to be toyed with, it was powerful and limitless and he had no training. Mal shook his head after several more seconds, he was being preposterous, he shouldn't try to use the Force without guidance. It was too much of a risk, not only to himself, but to others as well. "What... What should I do?"

Dan chuckled a bit when Mal went a little absent with the news.
Dan wasn't sure why Mal hadn't been tested sense the world was so near by, but Dan would have to sort that mess out latter. First thing was first, Calm this guy down.
You should sit back down... Dan said as he walked across the room back to the same bench they had been at moments ago.
You're right about adults not being taken in as Jedi, so for that matter you're left out. Officially you can't be trained by a Jedi.
Dan said with a sigh putting his hand to his chin once more.
You now know what powers you have, still the matter remains on what to do with it... You're likely best off just to recognize this trait now. I could speak with the council, there may in fact be SOMETHING their allowed to teach you, even if only the very basics. This was just a big a surprise to Dan as it was to Mal.
"If you get in contact with your parents again, I'd like you to ask if they ever had a visit by the Jedi. It doesn't make sense to me why you where never investigated."
Dan Said before giving the man across the table another smile.

Mal nodded slowly, still absentmindedly running a finger up and down the scar on his cheek. He crossed to the bench with the Jedi, sitting down his mind never stopped working. How did he learn to control it? If he was untrained was he a danger to everyone? He pushed that thought aside as soon as he had it, he'd been this way his entire life, the only people he was dangerous too were the ones that stood against him. "I'll definitely ask my dad. Maybe he knew something.." He muttered under his breath, considering his options carefully. He heard Dan's every word, but was focusing intently on his own thoughts. A skill he had learnt during his years of combat, be aware of everything around him, but focus on his own thoughts.
Mal, stood up again, pacing back and forth several times. After a few more steps he turned back to face Dan. "Master Jedi, I'd like to ask you to come with me when I speak with my father. It could make things easier." More than that, he knew that if his father started lying to him, Dan would be able to tell a lot easier than Mal would be able to tell. He knew his father very well, but the older man had taken several acting classes, and aside from that Mal hadn't seen him in several years. Not for a lack of desire, but because Mal had been off fighting for all that time. Finally Mal stopped pacing and returned to the bench, sitting down and facing the Jedi again. His mind was made up, reguardless of whether or not the Jedi was coming with him.
"I'm leaving in three days." Mal pulled a small data cube from his belt and slid it across the table to Dan. "Here's information to contact me, if you decide to come along, let me know. I'll cover the cost of your ticket." Sometimes, it was a good thing that the Republic Army paid for his food and shelter. Mal tapped a band around his wrist, a comlink he had acquired to save space on his belt. "Remember Master Jedi, three days." Standing, Mal offered the Jedi a slight bow of respect. Then suddenly thought he would interject one last piece of information. "Corulag is only a few hours from here, a short trip. Swoop racing is big, and there are several different races." He picked up the data cube for a second, inserting it into his data pad, then held the cube out for Dan again.
"If you need me before we leave, call me, I'll meet you wherever you need." Mal wasn't sure what the council would say, but he would trust in their judgment, whether he liked it or not. He wasn't wise, and he wasn't going to pretend to be, Mal was a great many things, but prideful was not one of them. "Until we meet again Master." He said with another slight bow, taking a few steps back and sighing. Now to come up with the next stages of his plan.

Dan sat at the table still, now becoming slightly amused by the mans actions, it wasn't exactly intentional, but Dan had forgot the wide range of reactions people could have to the force.
When Dan was offered the data cube and asked to come along, he remained silent for a few moments before taking the cube and inserting it into a pouch on his belt. Thank you, i think i will come along sense i am rather interested in these events. I'll make it a point on seeing you in three days time, in the mean time though, I'll do what i can here, see what i can dig up here and meet with the council, like i said there may yet be something we can do for you, provided you're still willing to undergo any sort of training...
By this time Dan had slid off of the bench and was walking back to the exit area with Mal, where a Air Shuttle was waiting for his departure. Dan had his arms folded in side the sleeves of his brown robes and was now up to the edge of the landing zone with Mal. A quick Smile from Dan and a slight bow to the soldier where followed by a few short words of farewell.
Goodbye Mal, And I'll see you soon, by then hopefully we can get a few answers. Dan gave another Bow while Mal boarded the Shuttle and then would waste little time getting in contact with the council...
