Name: Sonya Dant
Race: Devaronian
Age: 16
Height: 4” 7’
Weight: 93 lbs
Appearance: Sonya stands at four foot seven and weighs in at ninety three pounds, she has pure white hair, and white skin. There are two black circles on her forehead, where the horns on male Devaronians are normally found. Her nose, cheeks, between her eyes, and the tops of her shoulders have black freckle like spots. Her eyes are deep green, and her long white hair is braided and falls to her shoulder blades, there is a single braid falling down behind her right ear indicating that she is a Padawan. Sonya has very delicate features, and an athletic body, belittling the strength she actually possesses.
Sonya wears the typical Jedi robes in tan and light brown colors, the larger robe she wears over her tunic is white in color. Unlike most Jedi, who wear their lightsabers on the left side of their belt, Sonya wears hers on the right side of her belt. The only slight deviation that Sonya takes on her robes, is that she has cut off the sleeves leaving her arms bare. Her boots are grey in color, and the heels are slightly shorter than the norm.
Personality: Sonya is a quite girl, preferring to keep to herself, however she also watches everything, memorizing what she can. She is a girl of action, preferring to act rather than speak. A trait that has gotten her in trouble on more than a few occasions, though also a trait that she is trying to reign in. She is trying to learn when to act, and when to avoid action and let things happen. She appreciates a good joke, and is always one of the first to laugh, though the last to play a joke on someone.
Sonya has a combat oriented mind, viewing the world around her like she was in a fight. Not out of any true desire to fight, but just a way she developed to view the world. She believes that once someone has fallen to the Dark side, that there is no hope for them anymore, and they are forever lost to the Dark side. In her mind there is Light side and Dark side, good and bad, right and wrong, no middle ground. She always does her best not wanting to waste any time, energy or potential. She always gives everything she can, wanting others to be more comfortable than herself.

Bio: Sonya was born on the mining world of Apatros to simple miner parents, she was discovered by the Jedi to be Force sensitive when she was nine months old. Her parents not wanting her to spend her life on the same rock they were stuck on, gladly let the Jedi take their daughter to a better life than what they were forced to live. She spent her time with the other children, living a happy life on Seraphim. She grew up training with the other younglings, always the quite one of the group, being somewhat detached from the rest of the group, taking to the Order’s mandate about attachments to heart.
Sonya stayed with the rest of the younglings until she was eleven years old; it was then, that there was a showing of the younglings. Sonya did everything she could to win, though refrained from any brutal or underhanded tactics. This caught the eye of one a newly knighted Dathomirian woman by the name of Aryan Char. Something in the young Devaronian caught the Knight’s eye and made her decide to take Sonya as her Padawan. Sonya was ecstatic, finally she was able to go on missions, and continue her education in the ways of the Force.
However Sonya was slightly let down at first, her master turned down several missions, choosing to train her further in the ways of the Force before taking her out. The two spent long hours training together, during this time, it was discovered that Sonya had a special talent for defensive Force powers, but lacked skill in healing Force powers. It was shortly after this that the pair started going on missions together, small at first, but slowly increasing in difficulty. The two grew closer, and soon Aryan increased Sonya’s training in lightsaber combat, starting to teach her Form V. Though at this point, she never needed to use those skills.
Sonya and Aryan continued to train together and the two went on missions, when Sonya turned fifteen she started construction on her lightsaber. Over the course of their missions, Sonya would scour the area for parts to construct her lightsaber. Though the one part she always had issues finding, the only piece that escaped her grasp, was a proper crystal for her lightsaber. She never despaired though, knowing that she would find one when the time was right. During this time, she also started training in Form VI of lightsaber combat, barely starting to get the hang of it when Sonya and Aryan went on their last mission together.
They had been asked to help negotiate peace between a small group of rebels and the government they were rebelling against. The reasons were never fully clear to Sonya, but she trusted in her master and followed the older woman’s lead. The negotiations were going well, they were almost finished putting the finishing touches on the treaty and preparing to go home. However a trip home was not to be the case, a group of the rebels who didn’t want peace with the government, who instead wanted to end the government completely, bombed the peace summit. Aryan had mere seconds to shield her apprentice, even as Sonya tried to shield the both of them. In the end, only Sonya was left alive, her master’s broken lightsaber rolling to Sonya’s feet.
Sonya was in a stunned state, everyone around her gone in an instant, only she left alive, her master’s lightsaber sitting at her feet. She didn’t understand any of it. Nor did she truly want to at the moment, instead she blocked out all emotion, pushed them away and reported everything that had happened to the other masters. Along with the residents of the planet, she helped clean the mess, but kept her master’s lightsaber. On the trip back to Seraphim Sonya finally finished the construction of her lightsaber, she used the silver crystal from her master’s lightsaber. It took her most of the flight back to Seraphim to correctly install the crystal in her lightsaber, even after the blade worked, she continued to meditate over the blade.
After delivering her report in full to the council she was assigned a new master, though she now believed more in the Jedi Order’s rules against forming attachments, and would chose to keep everyone at a distance.
RP Sample: Sonya stepped through the doors leaving her quarters, her newly constructed lightsaber hung from her right hip. Her hand found the smooth plain silver handle and she received a certain amount of relief from the hilt, almost like her master was still with her. Shaking her head she pushed away those thoughts, emotions like that were a path to the Dark side, she had to bury them deep and control herself. Sonya couldn’t allow herself to form attachments like that again, she couldn’t run the risk of falling to the dark side, she had felt it ebbing close when her master died. It was a feeling she would never forget, the fire the lust for power she felt, the rage and desire for revenge. No, she knew that was a bad place for a Jedi to be, Padawan or not.
Sonya continued down the halls of the familiar temple, a few other of the Padawans, and even some of the younger Knights offered condolences as she passed. She thanked them, more out of politeness than anything else. ’There is no emotion, there is peace.’ She recited to herself, taking solace in the words. More so than the condolences she received from her fellow Jedi. It wasn’t that she was offended, far from it, she just chose to focus on the Code for now. ’There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity.’ That was what Sonya needed to focus on now, pure calm serenity.
Sonya made several turns, making her way quickly to where she would meet her new master. ’There is no chaos, there is harmony.’ She focused on the chaos brimming inside of her, of course as she was trying to bring harmony to her inner chaos, the memory of her master was brought to the forefront of her mind. ’There is no death, there is the Force.’ The words nearly rung hollow in her mind, but she was still reassured by them. She knew that her master wasn’t truly gone, she was one with the Force. Sighing Sonya stopped just outside the door she could sense someone strong in the Force on the other side of the door, this must be her new master. She took control of her emotions once again, and then reached up and knocked on the door.
