Character permission
Name: Shand Jesond
Race: Koorivar
Age: 30
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 167lbs
Birth place: Kooriva
Appearance:
Described once as a midnight dreary, skin so dark that it seemed to match even the deepest blues of an ocean seen often only by Quarrens. Almost as if it were colored in anticipation of creating the illusion of glowing eyes. Matched perfectly by the yellow pupils that peer from beneath a heavy ridged brow upon which a heavy mantel rest. The coloration an oddity as it spirals up to the conical horn that graces the beings head. Its very size and shape proof of his genetic heritage of those few that had evolved to grow thicker and larger horns. Its own a myriad of colors as the black, deep blues and dark greens mix together as they climb in a spiral upwards towards the very sky itself.
Resting upon the horn are shining objects of wealth, small markers of a successful life that is still in its prime. Pieces of gemstones and precious metals adorn the horn, the very corner piece of a society upon which all of ones station and placement is seen. Wealth being a sign of prestige and power within such a society, outwardly shown in the draping garbs of fine cloths that are brought together. Forming grandiose exhibits of a life spent in ever collection of wealth, a drive of financial prowess so powerful that an entire species focuses upon it.
Personality:
Quiet to the point one might think him mute. Critical in his thinking as if he is always playing a game, each move considered as carefully as a chess master would. Each attack as vicious and precise as a move in Dejarik. Those that look upon each carefully laid plan of his to be the mirror of a being touched at birth. Those that can see beyond that see the truly artful and beautiful visage which the very act will create.
He is careful in all matters, be they simple, or a contract worth millions of credits. Each movement he makes is considered carefully to the point that one may think his body slow, his mind old and his motions feeble. His quietness has often been mistaken as a weakness to the point that those in his past have fallen to the thinking before his words unleashed such a torrent of carefully picked phrases that it has devastated the very being they have been unleashed upon.

Bio:
A record of the birth would say that Kooriva is his homeworld, and on a technicality it would be correct. His real place of birth though is an oddity, or at the most one could call it that. He was born as the vessel his family was landing in was entering the atmosphere of Kooriva. His birth was marked by furious shaking caused by a faulty inertial dampener that rocked the vessel as it went to ground. The shaking damaged various electrical lines which caused sparks to fly through the air, with the grand finale to be marked by a massive sparking of shorts upon his arrival in the galaxy.
Born on a rickety tub that after its final journey would no longer fly, its last mission serving the beings on board in two ways. One being the successful trade venture which brought untold amounts of wealth upon the family, the second being the birthplace of the next generation to continue on the bloodline. He was the first born of his parents, soon enough to become the oldest as he would be followed by numerous others, though they would have their own stories for their own lives.
At a young age he was seen as out of place, looked down upon for a small horn which was still much smaller than those developing on others. He was thought mute by many for his lack of words, though it would be those who pushed too much that would find themselves broken down by his careful assault of chosen words. Like all Koorivar he was sent to those schools focused upon the teaching of financial prowess, to be taught the ways of a mercantile life.
In his studies he excelled, far beyond even what many thought he could accomplish. His own prowess at talking classmates out of their credits astonished even those that he had just slowly and carefully plucked the coins from with each chosen word. There was even a rumor that began to circulate that he could talk a Nemoidian into giving him their last bit of food. In truth it was difficult to tell if these rumors and stories were true, to the point that some believed he had been skilled enough to plant the stories himself.
Like all young Koorivar in their early years he took upon himself a job, learning the merchant trade directly from his own father. It was during these times that he would further astonish those around him, holding not only the job with his father, yet also establishing his own company as many Koorivar do. With it he sold off the small bits and pieces left over that his own father deemed a waste to even handle or fuss over.
It was around this time that his life took a turn of its own, his vision of more inspiring him to set forth beyond the confines of the world he had known for much of his life. Never once did he doubt himself, taking that first step onto a vessel that would bring him, lead him towards his future. It was this that would begin his careful game of his life, each choice made before it was ever brought up. His vision of his own future so sure and set that he took each and every turn carefully and at the same time at full speed. It was nearly as if he were a being that could calculate the very movement of the universe around him, to see the outcome he wanted before it would happen.
In these years he traveled the span of the Galaxy, from the Core Worlds and their towering structures to the Outer Rim and the dust settled worlds of miners and ranchers. Each movement carefully taken, each port arrived at as was his goal. His plans were never known to those around him who saw merely a simple adolescent of their species whose horn hadn't even grown yet, a mark that he was constantly reminded of, though it would change soon enough.
As each passing day turned into a month, then into a year it was coming closer and closer to the point where he would be considered mature. To the point that he would be considered a graduate of the finished business arts schools and academies on Kooriva. It was this final year that he took everyone in complete surprise. The year would start with a growth spurt, one which surprised even his own family which had already prepared themselves for him to be a disappointment. His horn grew quickly in the span of months, showing his own genetic heritage as it grew larger and thicker than even his own fathers.
While it was a surprise to those around him, it seemed nothing more than a merely eventuality, as if he had known it would happen the entire time. That his horn was merely acting as carefully and precise as he. In the following months he would shock once more when he announced the acquisition of his father's company through his own that he had set up so many years ago, buying it outright from his father and merging the two. At last the final act of shock and awe was the announcement of a marriage, one which he had carefully planned and plotted the past many years. Bringing to himself greater wealth through the joining of his family to that of another great noble family of Kooriva.
Upon the rising of a fresh day his goals still remained clear to him, a climb which would bring him to the top. A plan, the foundation of which had been set and carefully cultivated in his earlier years. In the first year of his new marriage his first child was born, one which barely a month old was already used as a piece upon the board. Careful planning and maneuvering brought about an arranged marriage between his first born and the third born of an influential Koorivar family of merchants. A move which in the years to come would blossom into a fruit to be picked at the exact right time.
With eyes set upon a loftier goal, watching every closely to the heavens of which he intended to reach for and grasp in his hands he made his next move. His vision set upon the Corporate Alliance, upon its highest seat, to move it as he saw fit and to bring wealth of uncountable fortune to himself and his family. His first move was simple enough, a sale, his own company which he sold to the Alliance. In return he took a position within the Corporate Alliance, a foothold which was all that he would need. His next step would be from this sandy beach unto the heights above it as he pushed further towards his goal.
Set upon by those around him, it merely drove him to further move his goals forward. In the first months of being hired he remained quiet within the company. Carefully watching those around him, finding their own goals, their own desires and wishes with which he would use them as tools. He befriended many that he came across, though it was all a ruse, a simple act to let them drop their guard as he carefully moved himself further in the company.
Each act was deliberate, even his failures were made to seem as if they were planned. Preventing him from drawing too much attention to his own goals as he moved ever forward to the position of Magistrate, his ultimate goal which he desired the most from the Corporate Alliance. It was mere months later that his second child was born, yet another piece upon the board in his favor, once which would prove useful almost immediately. His superior was incapable of conceiving a child of their own, the family about to die out. This was a sign of a blessing however as it brought forth an opportunity which was too good to be missed.
Through the skillful move of an adoption, which hidden behind it lay a substantial sum and a payout he pushed forward to his goal. The events that happened next were always speculated as being set in motion by him, an accident which took the lives of those that had 'adopted' his second born child, though left the child unharmed. The move paved the way for his advancement from his simple job to take the position left vacant after the demise of his former superior. Shortly after his second child was placed with her own arranged marriage, one which much like his first child's, brought about a substantial boon to his family.
With door after door opening in his favor his rise continued steadily within the Corporate Alliance. Each careful move planned out to the letter and each delay purposely made to prevent suspicion from his rise, though in the end he would reach his goal. With years of planning he had finally achieved a mark in his life, one which was punctuated with the birth of his third child. His promotion and taking a seat upon the Corporate Alliance Directorate, the ruling body of the Corporate Alliance. The final step between himself and his goal.
All those years pass when his first child was born, an arranged marriage had planted a seed, one which had grown. The flowing fruit now born and ready to he ripply plucked from the plant, as sitting upon the Corporate Alliance Directorate was the future father-in-law of his first born son. The first instrument that would bring about his own success as he began to further deepen the bonds between his own family and the family that his son would marry to. Over the next year he would carefully establish his power base, gaining support from other Directorate members. Each one swayed and won over by carefully placed words and motions, gestures of good faith and establishments of promise and trust.
In the end the former Magistrate didnt see the end coming, his own rule taken from him in a simple vote. As each vote passed he watched as the Corporate Alliance turned from him, their attention and support turning to the one that had spent his entire life climbing to the top. Now there he stood, a stern and quiet symbol of patience, his goal realized. Though it was not the end, for Shand Jesond it was a new beginning, one which he viewed pass into the future of prosperity that he foresaw for the Corporate Alliance.

A heavy sigh passed his lips, though it was not one of impatience or exhaustion. It was one of relief, one of joy as he finally stood at the top, his goal reached. Though with that goal reached a new one presented itself, a bright future that he foresaw. One in which he saw the Corporate Alliance thriving in the galaxy, standing tall and proud. A bastion of wealth and financial power that he would craft with his hands. Quietly he stood as a stone obelisk before the window of the highrise, looking down across the expanse of the city before he turned from the view.
Pulling the chair back from the table he took his seat, slowly turning to face the long table that graced the room. His hand resting the datapad in it upon the surface before he looked up quietly. The members of the Corporate Alliance Directorate sat quietly as he looked upon their now familiar faces. Each of them he had come to remember, to look up and see their own goals and desires which were now tied to the Corporate Alliance.
"The former Magistrate had allowed this Alliance to stagnate." His words were simple, carefully chosen and cut deep to the bone as he collected his thoughts once more. "This shall not be allowed to continue." His gaze set upon the others in the room slowly, looking at their faces, watching their expressions. "I will not allow it to remain as it is." Each word struck a cord, his eyes ever watchful of those that would show any inclination or desire not to see a change. "Those of you who desire that it remain a sluggish mass may simply remove themselves now. I have no need for those without vision."
He watched, he listened. Hearing the movements of the bodies in the chairs. The whispers between the members before they quieted down and said nothing further. With a smirk upon his lips he slowly rose as he placed his hands upon the table. "Good. Now shall we begin?"
