(Quick story overview)
[Starting on Coruscant > moves to space trip > Arrival on Corulag]
On the edge of a simple grey bed sat a medium size travel bag that Dan Firestar had prepared for the slightly unexpected trip he was about to partake in. Dan wore a non traditional garb of the Jedi, instead though he had a Brown travel Poncho.
Dan went through everything he should have and when the list was complete he made his way to the Public Docking bay on the Jedi Temple where he would get a simple transport for the trip to the spaceport where he would then meet with Mal Danton who was the reason for all this running around, Though it wasn't really Mal's fault, but more along the lines of who or why he hadn't been tested by the Jedi. It wasn't officially a mission, But Dan had still taken it upon himself to come along with Mal.
Dan Sighed with the slightly bad news that the council had said that officially Dan nor no other Jedi could do anything to assist in Mal's force training. So as Dan spent the Day getting ready and about to go meet Mal, he told himself that he would unofficially Help Mal. It would put Dan on shaky ground with the council. But in recent weeks Dan had gone through quite a bit, and Any hope of a future Council member Seat for Dan was unlikely as it was. With the Events of Thila, Cassandra, and Mal's story, Dan was getting to the point where he was in more of a position to do what he felt was right over the council's commands.
Beside Mal had a chance that no other soldier would get, and Mal had from what Dan understood already had many an encounter with the Dark side, If Dan didn't make his stand and help Mal, then whose to say Mal's next encounter wont be his death, or worst a temptation from the Dark side? Dan would need a break after this short stint, and With a final sigh he found the air shuttle landing at the spaceport and The Soldier whom he had met only three days ago, was standing there waiting for him.
Dan quickly exited the speeder with suit case in tow.
Hello there! He said once he was near enough to Mal.
We should discuss the council's choice once we get on board. Dan said now walking closer to his transport with Mal now at his side.

Mal packed one bag in his apartment, filling it with a few days worth of clothes. He tossed that one aside then pulled up a back pack and started packing it, in this one putting his blaster pistol, holdout blaster, vibroknife, and various other items used for survival. He locked the pack up tight, knowing he was going to have some explaining to do to get them on the transport. It was a good thing he was military, normally that was all Mal had to do to get his weapons on transports. He tossed his bags over his shoulders and left his apartment, boarding a transport to the spaceport. It took Mal only a few minutes to reach the port and to get his and Dan's tickets in order. Of course this started an argument over the weapons in one of his packs.
It took Mal almost thirty minutes to get the dock worker to allow his weapons on board, adding another lock onto the case, "Come on, not another search, you've done two already... And I'm traveling with a JEDI, how much kriffing trouble can I get into?" The official shook his head, causing Mal to sigh again and, for the third time, pull out his military ID. "I'm a Republic Army Sargent. I'm going to Corulag for two reasons, to visit family, and to start my Special Operations training." Finally the man relented, giving up the last search and leaving Mal to his business. Sighing, he was glad he didn't have to fully lie to the man, there was a third reason, but it wasn't exactly any of the official's business.
That was when Dan decided to join Mal near the ship, "Greetings, glad you made it." Listening as Dan spoke, his grey eyes narrowed slightly, then he motioned for Dan to follow him. Leading the man, he quickly found a empty compartment in the cruiser, then locked the door behind them. Sighing, Mal tossed his bags in the overhead compartment, putting Dan's up their as well. With a small sigh he sat down in one of the chairs, fastening in and stretching as best he could. "Well, before we get down to business, I hope the last few days has been well for you." Mal said politely, offering the Jedi a nod and a smile.

Dan followed up into the transport and then through and into the room the two would be sharing for the duration of the trip, which was fortunately only about three hours long.
Dan gave a bit of a shrug when Mal asked about Dan's past three days. They haven't been bad, maybe a bit tedious, but good over all. Dan said before removing the Poncho Now revealing his basic Jedi Tunic, and putting the Poncho up with the rest of the bags.
How about you? Dan asked returning the greeting, they had three hours to kill, so Dan saw no reason to skip right into the meat of their conversation anyway.

Mal nodded as Dan spoke, "Well I'm glad nothing bad happened anyway." He stretched out, not even noticing as the transport started to take off. He was used to military transports that were not designed for comfort at all, it was a running joke that they were designed to make the soldiers angry so they'd fight harder. Mal shrugged, "It's been filled with paperwork mostly, putting in application for spec ops training, and putting in my paperwork to extend my enlistment another four years." He shrugged, glancing out the window for a second, then doing a double take. They were already in space.
Mal unbuckled his belt after the jump to hyperspace, jumping to his feet and stretching, he didn't like being still for too long. It wasn't a nervous habit, he just enjoyed being up and doing something. Years spent in the military had rubbed off on him and it was unlikely he would ever truly relax, especially since even as a kid he was always up a moving. Now however, Mal focused that energy into various small hobbies, like building little trinkets. A prime example being the hold out blaster mechanism he normally wore on his forearm. However he wasn't about to start building anything right now, the flight was too short. "I hate to seem over eager or restless, but what did the council have to say?"

Dan sighed a bit when the hyper drive went active. Then he stood and reached into his his bag grabbing his lightsaber out of it and clipping it to his belt now. When Mal asked his question Dan only sighed again.
The council had deemed you unfit for official training.... Dan said before turning back to Mal and sighing again. I've decided to take it upon myself to unofficially teach you some of the very basics of the force, I'm doing so against the council's will, and i am limited to what i can teach you, but should you choose to let me teach you, then I will do what i can.
((OOC--- Sorry it's short, but i think it gets to the point and I am getting ready to leave home for a couple of days.))

Mal nodded, resisting the urge to let out a long list of his favorite Hutt swear words, barely resisting that urge. Instead he smiled and nodded again, "Thank you, Master. I would be honored to learn what you are willing and able to teach." He wasn't about to look a gift Tauntaun in the mouth, he knew he was going to have one hell of a time trying to find a teacher to instruct him in the ways of the Force as it was. Mal sighed and turned to the window, watching the blue well from hyperspace travel for a few moments, before crossing to it and darkening the window. Mal hated watching hyperspace for very long, it tended to unnerve him, and that was not what he needed at the moment.
"Again, I hate to seem impatient, but when can we start? And, this may seem odd, but is it alright if I record the lessons? To study them later, to gain better understanding." Mal hoped he wasn't bombarding the Jedi with to many questions, but these were ones he needed answered. More to the point however, the answers would also point him in the right direction as to what he would do over the next several weeks. Stay in the Army and become a member of the special forces, or decide to leave the life behind, and become something else. Something he different than he had ever expected. He felt a tingle at the base of his skull, unlike the feelings he got when he was unconsciously using the Force, this was a tingle of anticipation. His desire to know the answer to his questions manifesting physically.

Dan smiled a bit when Mal asked his questions. Dan responded as soon as it was his turn to speak. Don't worry, questions are how we learn. Dan said with his welcoming tone, actually rather pleased to be asked those questions.
First off, we shouldn't rush getting started, wait tell we get back to Coruscant and you have a bit of time on your hands. And i think it's fine for you to take recordings, after all, by the time I'm done assisting in the basics your training i likely won't be able to assist further, there are however a few out there in the Galaxy who aren't part of the order, perhaps once you and i are done, i can help you track a trustworthy replacement to teach you more then I would be allowed.
Dan sat once more before a smile crossed Dan's lips. Lesson one, patience. You'll get there. Dan said with his bit of confident sarcasm, hoping to help calm the man.

Mal laughed at himself for a moment, then nodded at Dan, offering him a slight bow. "I apologize for my impatience, this is just a whole new aspect of my life I'm discovering. I guess I just got excited." It was true enough, he was very excited, however he knew that he needed to control himself. Rushing into this would only prove bad, and he did not want to cause harm to anyone. Taking a few calming breaths, Mal slowly went to the storage hatch and pulled out his datapad. Altering the paperwork on the page, he then stored the datapad again. "Well, in a few weeks time I will no longer be an Army Sargent. Until then however, I will be fighting a war with paperwork." He sighed, knowing that everything was going to change for him, more that just the Force training. This would be the first time since he was eighteen that he was not in the military. Civilian life would be change enough.
Mal slowly went back to his chair, sitting down and stretching out to get comfortable. "By the way, Corulag is known for swoop races. So, it's going to be loud, oh and there's also some bamboo forests, especially where we'll need to go to see my father." He slowly touched the ring that was attached to the necklace around his neck, his thoughts flashing to his mother for a few moments. Mal quickly banished those thoughts, knowing that would only darken his mood. Besides, it was not a topic he wanted to go into with Dan, not just yet anyway. Shoving the ring under his tunic where he normally left it, he sat straighter and sighed once more. "Sorry, short flights always seem like they take the longest."

Dan smiled a bit when Mal was starting to calm down a bit more. Dan couldn't blame him though, Dan didn't know how he would react in the same situation. Dan then acknowledged the last couple of sentences about Corulag, Yes, you told me before about the races, and i did a bit of extra research, though i already knew the basics, and I m partly surprised I've never been there before, being as it's so close to the Capitol...
Dan pulled his ankle up and rested it on the knee of his other leg before sitting back in the seat a bit more and asking a follow up question. Exactly where are we going, is it near any of the cities? Dan asked trying to get a better feel for where he was going in the full.
Dan still wasn't quite sure why he had agreed to come along, so he simply placed as curiosity, and wanting to help the other man.
