Name: Kyzaht Buun [Kai-Sott Boo-Un]
Race: Anx
Age: 67
Height: 14'3" at normal posture, 14'11" fully upright.
Weight: 642lbs.
Appearance: Kyzaht is an excellent example of the Anx species. His long body is well-muscled and his scales are an iridescent green, and are at their most intense when colored by his lightsaber. There are patterns throughout, but they are extremely subtle and very rarely noticeable except in static light. The muscles that many of his species fail to develop have not gone untended, and the unique circumstances of his childhood (growing up among the Jedi) have given him better posture than many other Anx. He doesn't stand perfectly straight, but only has a visible hunch when seated. His better posture also keeps his tail aloft, the tip only occasionally grazing against the ground.
Among those features which set him apart from the many are his left eye and and both forearms. Both were lost to him during his years as a padawan, and have been replaced with cybernetics. The eye is nothing special, and the only sign of it being unnatural is a ring of blue light around the pupil. Kyzaht's entire left arm below the elbow has been replaced, and the false arm has been tuned to be stronger than the limb originally was. This required that there be reinforcements grafted to much of his arm, and the metal braces at his elbow that connect to another at his shoulder are as visible as the mechanical limb itself. His right arm is only partially cybernetic: The organic portion of his arm is L-shaped, starting with his thumb and two forefingers and going down to the midpoint of his wrist. The other two fingers, half of his hand, and the missing half of his wrist have all been replaced, with braces ringing his organic forearm to assist in holding the bone grafts together. The right arm has no enhancement.
Kyzaht is a living embodiment of temperance and compassion. His gray eyes are kind, and his voice --slightly high for an Anx male-- is low and quiet in an effort to alleviate the discomfort that the species' booming tones often cause. His massive hands are gentle, but there is a power within them. If he wanted to pick you up and crush your throat in his hand, he could. His massive size has its shortcomings of course, in that he does not turn nor move quickly. The amount of distance he can cover in a short time is still considerable due to the sheer length of his legs, but the limbs themselves do not make those motions in a short amount of time.
Kyzaht's robes are fairly different from those commonly worn to accommodate his body structure.
Personality: Kyzaht is a beacon of compassion and a pillar of temperance. His speech seems slow, but he is actually carefully deciding exactly what must be said before saying it. Kyzaht is rarely inclined to outright criticize, even constructively. Instead, he put the greatest of effort into helping others explore their own actions and decisions, so that what they must do to improve or what they must be conscious of in the future comes to them in gradual realization. He has occasionally had the opportunity to attempt this with Dark Jedi, and met with limited success.
Despite a gentle soul and the pursuit of serenity and enlightenment, Kyzaht has a fierce side. It rarely comes into play, but when it does, his immense strength and size coupled with potent Force abilities make him a force to be reckoned with. Regardless, Master Buun seeks every possible alternative to violence, resorting to it only in self-defense or the defense of the innocent and/or righteous.
Like most Anx, Kyzaht is a social creature. If given the option, he will always choose the company of others to seclusion. In another habit of his people, he developed groups that he thinks of as his clan. These are not limited to those uniquely close relationships that earn a place on his lightsaber, but are much larger in scope. Initially, his youngling family was his Clan. When he became a padawan, this expanded to envelop the the Jedi Order as a whole. When he became a Knight, it was the entirety of the Republic. Now, as a Master, he thinks of all living creatures as if they were his own blood. He does everything he can to prevent any loss of life, up to and including causing harm to those that would kill others. Even against the Dark Lord of the Sith, Kyzaht would not employ lethal methods unless there was no other way to end the battle (short of dying himself or retreating, both of which would only result in a greater loss of life by allowing the Sith to continue his/her machinations).
Many Anx are deathly afraid of isolation, but Kyzaht moved past that during his Trials. It is not his favorite state, but he is capable and willing to seclude himself or exist on his own for any period of time.
As with all Jedi, Kyzaht has a fairly simple and healthy diet. However, he takes great pleasure in baking, offering his confections to younglings as treats or rewards for sincere effort. He also cooks large meals for celebrations, such as when a padawan passes their Trials.
Birth place: Ozlyn Gox, Gravlex Med
Faction: Jedi Order
Rank: Jedi Master, Member of the Council of Reconciliation (Possibly High Council Member, Please Offer Input)
Lightsaber: Technically classified as a lightclub, Master Buun's lightsaber is much larger than the norm. Proportionate to his body, the weapon is standard. The hilt started very simply, being little more than the metal tube around the components. It is encased in a sleeve of light, varnished wood from Gravlex Med, with the activation switch poking out through the hole of what had been a knot. Carved all along the sleeve are the names of close friends among the Jedi that Kyzaht considers to be his family among the Order. The organic shape of the wooden sleeve has been slowly worn down by time to fit Kyzaht's hands, and the tool can be very easily mistaken for a small totem or bauble when inactive. In place of a D-ring is a leather cord that serves the same purpose.
In an effort to make the lightsaber safer, Kyzaht's blade requires that a twisting safety on the emitter (that both unlocks the activation switch and retracts an iris at the opening) be keyed, and the the switch remain depressed. The safety is entirely manual and can be left open if he knows that he will need to draw the weapon suddenly.
Color: A standard green crystal from Ilum. The color is very striking against the blond wood of the hilt, and against the dark greens and light browns of Buun's skin and robes. The lens which the standard green passes through changes it ever so slightly. The final color is the same as what one sees when they hold a green leaf up to a sun.

Bio:
A Jedi Diplomat on Gravlex Med discovered Kyzaht a few short months after his birth. The Diplomat spoke to his family of his potential, explaining that because they were Republic citizens, they had no choice about his fate. The family asked the Jedi if they could discuss it, and came to the decision that Kyzaht would accompany the Jedi when he returned to Coruscant, on the condition that Kyzaht be told why they sent him willingly should he ever ask. Though they loved him, all agreed that sending him as an infant would spare him the pain of losing a family that he knew instead of one which he only knew he once had.
And go he did, fostered in the Temple until he was 1, and deemed able to become a youngling-proper. (at that age, Anx have reached the human equivalent of two or three). He was assigned to a youngling family, among them was a zabrak boy named Trin, with whom Kyzaht would form a close and lifelong friendship.
Special care was often taken during training, due to the Anx's significantly larger body. He didn't know his own strength yet, so, for safety reasons, the Knight in charge of his group's saber instruction required that he stand far apart from the group. Regardless of safety, he was a child. The sense of separation was frightening and upsetting, so he did whatever he could to avoid that aspect of physical training. He spent much more time doing the other exercises when he could, and dreading that time of the day was often the main issue in his mind during daily meditation.
