Special Note: The botched usage of Transfer Essence and the alternating stats were approved by Jenno. The specific numbers for Sense and Body were approved, but the specific numbers for Leadership and Intelligence are still subject to bio support and reviewer approval. No other stats will have alternate values, and those that do will receive a permanent value if/when synthesis is achieved. For instance, in the case of perfect balance, the scores might mellow out into two 5s.
Name: Balias Erdin (Bay-lee-iss Ur-din)
Race: Human
Age: 26
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 147lbs.
Appearance: A very slim and gaunt man, Balias won't be winning any beauty contests in the near future. There's potential to be an alright-looking fella, but it's under quite a bit of bad. His skin is fairly healthy, but off-puttingly pale. This is due to the rapid corruption of his physical form, and his skin will (hopefully) normalize with time.
Each joint and knuckle are very prominent, easily visible through the skin itself and through any snug clothing. He actually has a respectable amount of muscle, but his proportions tighten the lean strength against his bones and render the physique practically invisible.
Across his entire body, the blue lining of veins are very prominent. This is partially because his skin hasn't normalized yet, but also because of how tense he constantly is. Nowhere on his body is there a single mark, but one can sometimes sense the air of a beaten dog, submissive yet hateful.
His high, strong cheekbones rise over sallow cheeks and a tapered jaw. Full, but tightened lips are set at the top of a long chin, and his striking gray eyes are ringed in the bruising of near-constant insomnia. Straw-blond hair is pushed haphazardly away from his eyes, the thick locks framing a short forehead and accenting his very expressive, thick brows. He is usually clean-shaven, but is capable of growing facial hair.
Personality:
Balias: Not a timid man by nature, but a broken one. Balias has been beaten down for his entire life. No matter the effort he put into any endeavor, they all seemed doomed to failure. When it was expected of him to follow in the footsteps of his father and take on the mantle of a Dark Jedi, he stumbled and watched his feet to make sure he stepped in every footprint exactly.
Much of this weak-will has been shaken off in past months, but only out of necessity. Balias is thoughtful, soft-spoken, and remarkably knowledgeable for his age. He strives to make every movement count, having little to no confidence that he will win the struggle going on inside of him.
Despite seeming gentle, Balias is by no means a good man. He has always told himself that he causes others pain because it is the only way he can avoid it. Because of that, he is actually very good at it. He also has a natural talent for deception after spending so long as a punching bag. Balias is slowly coming to terms with his new position as the lesser of two minds in one body, and rapidly becoming more bold in his efforts to surpass his opponent. Balias believe that by destroying the Other, he will finally become his own man, and be bold enough to prove his worthiness.
Balias is very prone to becoming emotional, giving over to sensations which the Sith typically think of as weak and pathetic. He draws very little power from them, his ineffectual rage only feeding his bondmate.
Of the pair, he is the more cunning, and the more desperate.
The Other: A pure distillation of Balias's Force potential, and every aspect of him which has never been allowed to see the light of day. The Other is indomitable and relentless, willing to do anything to free itself from the half-life that the pair have become trapped in. Where Balias is quiet, the Other demands to be heard. Balias is deceptive by nature, and the Other lays itself bare for all to see.
It thinks of itself as an agent of the natural order; the weak are meat, and the strong will eat. The Other has no ethical limits, and the intuitive powers which It and Balias have rapidly developed are the product of the Other's existence.
The Other has no time for emotion, seeing them as a means to fuel the power it is desperately trying to harness. It is callous, impartial, and without mercy in every way. It is actually not well-suited to the Sith in that regard, but finds them irresistible. It believes that by devouring Balias, it shall become a true being and achieve a level of power that will eventually bring it to stand beside the true Sith (the Darths).
Of the pair, It is the more powerful, but also the more ignorant.
Despite their beliefs, all that would be accomplished by destroying the other consciousness is full control of the body. Doing so is also impossible (they are intertwined far too deeply for one to be completely annihilated), and the pair will inevitably either ruin one another, or blend to become a new entity altogether. Which of the pair will become the dominant in such a scenario can only be speculated to. The outcome can only be determined by how their story plays out.
Each mind spends the entire day and night fighting for dominance, hence the body's insomnia. The Other can lash out and take hold of the body whenever Balias feels acutely strong emotions, based on the fact that these emotions gave birth to It. Because of this, Balias places great effort on staying calm (thought often fails). He can quickly reassert his dominance when the Other finds itself even momentarily stoic, though. The Other does as much as it can for as long as it can to avoid this, but it is an inevitability. Since the Other is not yet fully aware of itself and the ability to consider things outside of immediate or long-term goals, it mentally ceases to function and leaves the door open.
The opposite consciousness will also take control whenever the body becomes exhausted for any reason, as this usually tires the mind out as well. The two have no way of communication except to have one-way conversations while in control of the body.
Which personality will become dominant will be determined by which of the two personalities have gained more power by the time that the character ascends to a full member of the Sith and takes a name. For instance, if Balias holds the lion's share of knowledge which eventually results in Destruction 5, then he would have 5 points towards dominance. If the Other later learned most of what becomes Destruction 6, Balias would lose those 5 and the Other would gain 6.

Lightsaber: One from his first life, and one from his second: Balias has a very plain lightsaber that was taken from a dead grey Jedi and given to him at the beginning of his training, and one of the two lightsabers which his body once bore the scars of, as punishments from his father. This one has more personality, with a corrugated grip and razor edge on the pommel below the D-ring. This has no combat purpose, but was often used to punish Balias.

(On the subjective attributes and abilities: Balias is an intelligent man with a weak will. He has never been talented in the Force, only able to slightly affect the world or mildly affect himself, and so he used it in one of its simplest ways: The enhancement of the physical form. The Other, however, is an incredibly forceful personality with very little knowledge of the world. It is also the focal point for the pair's Force energy, and is naturally attuned to the living and unifying Force. The flip-side, though, is that it is unused to a physical form, and has little knowledge of how to improve it.
It bears noting that the above statistics are all Balias was able to achieve after over a decade of rigorous education. It is only with the presence of the Other that the body is now capable of becoming more proficient in Force abilities than an intuitive level.
There is no difference in lightsaber ability because it is a part of the body's muscle memory.)
Bio:
There are places in the galaxy; places inhabited by cruel people, unforgiving predators, and the corruption of the Dark Side. These places are the stomping grounds of the sadistic, and the malevolent. Unfortunately for the galaxy, these entities of rage and sorrow are rarely content to remain in the shadows from whence they came.
So it was with Matias Erdin.
Once a Jedi hopeful, Matias was turned away by the Temples due to his age. A hard life had fostered within him a seed of doubt and pain, and although the Jedi were ready and willing to help him move on from a dark past, he had simply been found too late to ever stand as one of them. It broke the young man, who had subsisted only on the dream of becoming a hero of legend. Righting the wrongs that had been done to him and bringing a righteous vengeance down on the heads of the wicked and the powerful seemed forever out of his desperate, but determined reach.
Fortunately for Matias, there were others that had no qualms about his state of mind.
Unfortunately for the many people his life eventually touched, those others were a secretive Outer Rim cult called the Followers of Noltra.
The Followers existed under the iron fist of a self-proclaimed Darth (although her knowledge of the Sith was no greater than any scholar’s) that dreamt of becoming a Queen and Empress in her own right. It was the false Lady herself that discovered this brutalized young man, sensed his potential, and brought him into the black embrace of the Dark Side.
Years later --the boy now a man, a fearsome and infamous Dark Jedi, and his former master’s lover—the pretender that called herself Darth Noltra met an unexpected end. Complications during childbirth, most said. A lightsaber through the heart, said the few who knew better. The truth of it was unimportant, for now these disciples belonged to Matias, and Noltra had served the purpose he had long twisted her towards fulfilling: an heir to their mutual legacy.
This heir was Balias. To the Followers, he was a prince. To his father, a disappointment. Although the boy reeked of the Force from birth, no grand skill manifested in him. It was trapped in his subconscious, unable to free itself. Matias did not take kindly to this failure, especially from his first apprentice and child.
Balias was beaten mercilessly by his father when he did not meet expectations, and he almost never did. In vain efforts to please his sire and master, Balias threw himself into every task with gusto, perfectly submissive and utterly devoted to his studies. Balias found small solace in the library of his late mother, whose collected knowledge on every practical subject ranging from economic history to dynamic guerilla tactics to the Jedi Order itself gave him an escape from the abuse he suffered daily.
Matias grudgingly approved of the boy’s studies, hoping it would inspire the child to seek power much as he had done in his younger years. Indeed, the knowledge proved decently helpful in the eyes of the Master. Even though Balias was useless as a Jedi, he had a sharp wit and a progressively more malicious way of thinking, both of which were traits that Matias put to use. Balias became his father’s torturer, and successfully procuring information from captives staid his father’s hand enough that he put great effort into becoming more sadistic, more creative, and as misleading as he possibly could. For three years he turned his every attention from becoming a Jedi to becoming a torturer.
The crowning achievement of this horrid career was against a gray Jedi that had been giving the Followers a great deal of trouble, and that Matias had been obligated to personally subdue. Balias played his part well in drawing the needed information out of the man, disguising himself as a silent madman for the actual torture, leaving the poor man to stew for a time, and then “sneaking” into the cell under the (honestly not far from the truth) guise of a frightened and weak soul, who wanted only to escape. It took weeks to earn the Jedi’s trust and break his spirit, but it was inevitable. Bloodied, beaten, burned, deprived of sleep and food and on the brink of madness, the captive finally told Balias everything he wanted to know. It earned him a fleeting approval from Matias.
Balias was a month shy of fourteen, at the time.
As a reward for these efforts, Matias gave his son the now-dead Jedi’s twin lightsabers, and began his instruction in the ways of the blade. Balias actually showed some small amount of talent in battle, although he was still far below the expectations set before him. Worse than that, Matias now began answering failure with strokes from his own lightsaber. Matias also drew the scar across Balias’s nose with the razor on the bottom of his lightsaber, and deepened it when he felt that his son deserved a slow punishment.
Finally, after nearly two decades of training, Matias came to the conclusion that he could no longer prolong his efforts to make something of the child that shamed him. He would send Balias to undergo the Follower’s rite, and the process would certainly kill the young man. This would be a black mark on his name, and so he decided to nip the issue in the bud and kill Balias himself, away from prying eyes.
Balias took far more issue with the idea than Matias was prepared for.
When the father brought the son to a desolate little rock in the Unknown Regions and commanded him to fall upon his own sword, Balias balked. He wasn’t sure whether this was another of his father’s twisted games, and he began conjuring up a contingency in case this was genuine. Matias insisted, once more, that his son save him the trouble of cutting him down and kill himself. Balias continued to seem confused and skeptical of the command, but inside he had already come up with an escape plan and possibly a destination.
Matias sighed in resignation, and signaled his second apprentice, concealed nearby, to run Balias through from behind. The Miraluka girl plunged her lightsaber into Balias’s lower back, but had aimed very carefully so as not to inflict a lethal strike. When Matias drew his weapon in a rage to finish the job, Balias leapt up to meet his father’s blade with his own.
Little did Matias know that Balias had been plotting to murder his father for ages. He had discovered the second learner some years earlier, after she had been offered up by the gray cult in return for Matias allowing their survival, but before the Followers had managed to effectively brainwash her. Balias had originally planned to kill her and prove himself the stronger learner, but instead found the girl’s brash ways and indomitable will more intoxicating than he could have imagined.
Balias knew he would never become what his father demanded, and that this girl had no intention of becoming another flunky for a megalomaniac that would only get his people killed in the end. So they hatched a plan to turn on Matias when he inevitably pitted them against one another. Granted, Balias hadn’t expected it to happen at that moment, but it was fortuitous nonetheless.
The duo fought hard against their master, but, unfortunately, far underestimated what he was capable of. Matias repulsed his would-be murderers with a burst of telekinesis, and then took the shuttle they had brought from their ship in hand (with the Force, obviously). He hammered Balias’s prone body with the vehicle, smashing it down on him with enough force to collapse the nose and render the vessel useless for the flight back. When his second apprentice finally found her footing again, she knew that staying would mean dying. She abandoned Balias to his fate.
His fate was, however, not what any of those involved expected. Matias’s energies had drawn the eye of someone else. Someone to whom the Followers’ leader paled in comparison. This intruder came upon the murder of Balias, and made short work of Matias. He collected the broken form, clinging desperately to the last shreds of life, and spirited him away to a dark corner of the Unknown Regions.
