Okay, I had a nice opening post all worked out and then somehow backspace got hit and I LOST ALL OF IT

Still a bit salty over that. So, since I don't quite feel like redoing all of that all over again, I'll just repost what we have from the original thread

Basic Synopsis: New year's eve. Parties and celebrating on the shores at Woostri. As part of the general festival going on, a senator's hanging around, perhaps at a gala a little separated from the main partying for the peons. Due to senator being there, there are disgruntled terrorists, who have a bone (of a yet to be determined nature) to pick with him/her. THey're willing to do bad things to pick this bone and capture/kill the senator. There also may be a famous shipwright or something there. IF not to demostrate the ship, to discuss plans with the senator, maybe to work out a lucrative/advantageous manufacturing contract for his buddies through the senator and his/her friends. Trying to steal the ship plans/the ship itself for themselves/someone behind the scenes (I have an idea on that front) might be a secondary objective for the bad guy group.

Few notes:
IC years are counted from the great hyperspace war, so the new year will be 1400 AHW, not 3600 BBY. Since there's no Battle of Yavin to compare to.
Woostri has lower amount of oxygen than normal in its atmosphere. Probably not enough to make a huge deal out of, given how popular the planet is a destination, but might be to be something to toy with, if you're so inclined.
The terrorists themselves will not be Sith, but an element of the behind-the-scenes intrigue may be. I do believe Visari might be providing some impetus for them to do what they do. Specifically to get those ship designs


Anyway, I'll redo the first post later. Haaate redoing things after I lose them >.>

I have only one question so far; are we sticking to an order once this thing gets under way? Or are we going to opt for another method to tackling posting? I've been in big threads before(as I'm sure we all have) and we all know what happens to these kind of threads if it stalls for too long.

Maybe a set amount of time before its alright to skip a person/if a person knows they'll be a while to tell the next person in line to go ahead of them?

That's just me being curious. I'm totally one of those people that might take a while depending on how the muse hits. >_>

For posting order, I agree with the same ol' stick to a regular order, but with the addendum of much like with Maelstrom or Thila threads, where people haven't post in awhile, may as well just move along without them. Pretty much our standard shiz for these big ol' event threads.

I am all for rules of usual polite post order but Jazen is right that waiting an eternity for someone to post can very slowdown or even kill the poor thread. Maybe set a skipping rate of two/three/ weeks( a month)? If a person won't make absence note and won't post in his time frame, the next person can be tagged?

I see no problem with a suggested time period, given as everyone understands that they can and probably will be skipped. But if more people like ye ol' standard, I could care less.

... So, I guess I'm saying I'll swing both ways. =P

As for further suggestion for the thread:

Basically yes, the way we usually do things. Far as I know, the time period has been a bit elastic, based on what's going on. But a week or two sounds about right.

Anyway, do we have an idea of where everyone will be? I'd assume most characters will probably be with the normal people/peons out in the streets/on the beaches. But we do have some richies in CAssius and Samuel. =P They planning to be out and about generally or with the senators and their acquaitances?

Also, NPCS. We know we'll need the yet-to-be-named senator. Also a leader for the terrorists. And other potential ones as needed. I'll probably take up a role. Anyone else want to do any NPCing?

I'm going to be having Averia chillin' at the beach. But if we don't have someone playing the senator (or volunteering one of their own), I was thinking I could NPC my Director of Republic Intelligence, his WIP app is in the Civ section. But was thinking I could just NPC him for the purposes of this thread to have a bigwig of some sort in the thread, or at least use him as another bigwig with the senator or whatever at the hoity-toity section of the festivities.

Cassius generally would start from hanging out with rich fellows but if he gets bored, may as well join unsavory, simple crowd. He spent his time as a merc after all :3 Most likely he will move around, just begins with the upper class party.

Samuel probably will stick with the upper class folks, being on this world will already be out of his comfort zone a little I think.

He may also be sniffing around Cassius too >:3

I'd love to have Shine run into Averia and Shanti too at some point. Since he knows them both and his relations with them are completely opposite one another, it should be some wicked fun. ^__^
