Bio: Born on Kashyyyk in a congealed gutter in Nww Jrrzzyy of the small Hobookiee tribe, to be adopted by two loving parents(was three days old when taken in by his adoptive parents).
Life from beginning to now.
From birth to 29 years of age.
Abandoned at birth by his biological parents who remain unknown to him to this day. His Biological father is dead, his Biological mother is a mad claw and lives in the ShadowLands. Though he does not care about them since they left him to most likely die as an infant. His adoptive parents were incapable of having a child of their own(biologically of course) and were thrilled when a tiny little Gramum was brought to their Chieftain who allowed them guardianship over their new son. His being adopted had little to no effect on him as he grew up, as it was just a fact he knew from a young age. When he was 8 his mother explained to him after one of the bullies made fun of him for not being a "true" tribe member, that all that mattered was that his parents loved him. He took this to heart and simply ignored the bullies until he was 12. He was 12 years old when he fought seriously for the first time.
Several of the bullies decided to pick on him since he was quiet and kept to himself mostly, their mistake. Gramum not only won the fight but taught the bullies a lesson that stuck with them to this day, it was after this he discovered his love of battle. He proved he was a strong lad, and he taught a just lesson which made him feel good inside. After his discovery he was taught the basics of fighting by his Father(he does not say "adopted" about either parent, as far as he is concerned they are closer than blood) who was a self taught warrior with the Ryyk blades, and a master of Wrruushi. The training had its good points(learning Gramum was a bit overstrong) and its bad points(arguing over how to do things), but all in all it was a good learning experience for both.
His father taught him first and foremost never to use his claws for fighting which Gramum lives by. His father attempted to teach him unarmed combat but they butt heads because Gramum didn't see why he needed to know more than how to rip someones arms out. They both enjoyed the use of the Ryyk blade and when Gramum reached his fathers skill level(very roughly), it made him of note to the other villagers. Once Gramum had learned the value of his fathers wisdom in the use of Ryyk blades it made it easier for him to accept his fathers knowledge and help in Wrruushi. They trained longer in Wrruushi than they did with the Ryyk blades, which made Gramum even better in Wrruushi especially since his father was a master in Wrruushi while only being above average with the Ryyk blades. The importance of upper body Both Gramum and his father decided he should train formally in the arts of combat when he was 29 years of age.
When Gramum went to the space port to sign up for training at a Republic Military Academy, he witnessed two Republic soldiers harassing a young Wookie which enraged Gramum, as it reminded him of when he was a boy. He used his skills in Wrruushi on them, taking the two verbal abusers down nonlethal using his immense strength(both from his training and being a strong Wookie) to literally slam the two together. After a short stop at a venders drink stand to get something to help him calm down, Gramum headed over to sign up for the Academy at the recruiters office with his drink in paw. Gramum was very surprised when he stepped into the office to see that the recruiter was one of the two Republic soldiers who had been bullying the younger Wookie earlier. Gramum still made an attempt to sign up for a Republic Military Academy, but the recruiter said "you see, fuzzy, since out little altercation I wont help you out. I don't like being made to look like a fool in front of my fellow officers, you wont be able to enroll anywhere in this part of the galaxy... now, get out" the man said. Gramum controlled himself and left the mans arms in their sockets, but gave an extremely rude grunt coupled with a universally understood gesture on the way out the door.
This incident infuriated Gramum and his parents, so they found a different organization for Gramum to train with. His father decided since the recruiter at the space port was obviously a crook, that the Imperial training would be just as good. Gramum was disgruntled from his experience at the space port and so gladly agreed with his fathers choice. It was with much sadness Gramum left home, even though he was excited to start his new train.
From 30 years old to 50 years old.
He departed from home to train to become the best fighter he could be, having a slight edge over the other students at his Imperial Military Academy from his fathers help from a young age. He went to the Rathal Imperial Military Academy, as his father demanded he learn only from the best. He excelled on written exams and did a little above average on physical tests(due to being strong for his age group.) The more he trained the better he got, and the better he was the closer he was to being able to go back home. He truly excelled in melee being strong enough to wield two Vibroswords, but was not nearly as good with projectile weaponry as his teachers had hoped for. He was considered one of the better behaved students, though like most students he did get into a few fights just not very serious ones. He became the best in his class after 5 years(including extra qualifications in armed and unarmed combat) at the Academy and almost left as a fully trained warrior, but was offered the chance to become a teacher there in the martial art of Wrruushi.
He enjoyed his role as a Teacher and was always just with his students, never being biased regardless of success or species(including a Trandoshan who passed through his class.) His stern but gentle guidance helped temper his students, and slowing down to actually show people how helped mellow Gramum. He enjoyed his life at the Academy, he took an interest in all his students and tried and active approach which worked well. He was extremely proud of all his students, even those who did not make it through. Their effort to learn was good enough for him, though he only had three students who couldn't complete their training. He himself continued to study and practice combat, building his upper body strength to make sure he was always capable of preforming his Wrruushi moves to the fullest(along with full body exercises for general health and Military upkeep expectations.) After 15 years as an instructor Gramum chose not to renew his contract this time around, as it had been far too long since he had been home or seen his family. He said farewell to his last class and all the friends he had made before going back to Kashyyyk, since he was an unarmed combat instructor he was an NCO so if he ever wanted to go back and Teach again or join the Imperial Military, he would be a NCO again and thus a Sergeant if he went into the service. With a happy heart he returned home.
From 50 years old to 80 years of age.
He returned home and was welcomed with open arms, a small feast was held in his honor(his Tribe couldn't really afford anything more than just having everyone eat together.) He decided to hire himself out as extra muscle, getting jobs here and there, and getting a nice home near to his parents own home. He didn't do anything particularly special during this time, he mostly tracked down people who hadn't paid their debts that could if they wanted to. His first job was to help put down an attempted coup in a somewhat small village not too far away from his own that had been started by the Chieftains youngest son to take over before his eldest brother could take on the mantle of Leadership.
The eldest brother(the intended Chieftain) came in search of Gramum as he had heard of warrior for hire nearby, and was impressed enough by his credentials to hire him. Gramum and the pre-Chieftain returned in the night and rallied the loyal villagers going from window to window of those few they knew for certain were loyal. They stormed the usurpers quarters, Gramum taking point and as the usurpers guards clashed with the villagers. One of the young usurpers guards managed to slip through the crowd and enter the fight in the room itself, whom the rightful Chieftain battled as Gramum went up against usurper. This youngest son wasn't a special specimen physically but was fast and cunning, but Wrruushi wasn't something his cunning could contend with. After Gramum personally defeated the usurper he made him swear to never return, which he did being glad to escape with his life. The tribe was very grateful for Gramum's assistance in quelling the usurpers reign, but Gramum would only accept modest pay when offered a large portion of the tribes wealth. They instead established a trade relationship between Gramum's own Tribe as a sort of compensation, and it would be good for both Tribes.
From 80 years of age to 110 years of age.
He continued his average day to day life without any problems until he was ninety-three years of age, at this point in his life he felt the call for higher learning and took his saved earnings and went to college. He selected Corellia University for his college, and started out to earn his Doctorate in Engineering. He studied hard, and partied little, doing very well overall, though he had trouble adjusting at first and his grades suffered for it.
He took his studies very seriously for the first semester, but loosened up in his second semester though and allowed his friends to drag him to parties occasionally. He drank casually while at these parties, so much so he earned a reputation for it and how he was unaffected by it.
He was called "The tank" during his third semester and onwards during his college years from that point on, obviously for being like a tank of alcohol, holding so much of it without being affected by it. This was attributed to the fact Wookiee alcohol is so strong compared to the drinks of other species. Also the fact he was the only Wookiee on campus at the time helped with this name, as he was considered large and "tank-like" to his fellow students. He would on rare occasions improve "inter species relations" with several of the women on his floor(individually, mostly) and got a more... impressive reputation, one that the details of which will remain a mystery to all(you can guess correctly from context I assure you).
Since the duration of his college attendance was thirty years, he also chose to get his Doctorate in Agricultural Science after receiving his Doctorate in Engineering Sciences. This was much the same as his earlier college years, except this time he knew exactly what he was doing and managed his fun and studies well. He was not of much note amongst his class other than for being a Wookie, but did well and was one of the few students who actually went all the way through with his Doctorate. After he received his Doctorate in Agriculture he returned to his home, being one of the most celebrated members of his small clan.
From 110 years old to 130 years of age.
He continued to hire himself out, but not only as muscle but also a consultant. He mostly used his education to help fellow residents of Kashyyyk for reasonable prices, though on occasion he would help people off world as well. He helped to improve the structural stability of his Villages buildings and how to cultivate plants more effectively so they had better crops, and they prospered for it.
From 130 years of age to 168 years of age.
He was becoming fairly well known among several clans on Kashyyyk by this point, though for all his 'fame'(if you can call it that) he felt very... alone. He started looking for a mate, but the only females in his small village were already spoken for, so he decided to travel. He was without luck for several months, then finally found a woman who he started courting, a fine specimen indeed, but she was completely uninterested. He was sad and alone, and in his sorrow he turned to drink.
From 168 years old to 200 years of age(current age).
He spent most of his time on the job, drinking often, though he tried to keep it under wraps. His business was in decline and his drinking habit wasn't helping anything, when he did get a job it was usually executed in a sloppy fashion, ruining his reputation. While on a job far from his village he was wounded in a vehicle crash and presumed dead, he could not return home for he finally admitted to himself he was a disgrace to his clan and family.
He lived in the Shadowlands for the next 62 years(which he barely remembers), wandering aimlessly, drunkenly, sadly. He only remained sober long enough to steal more drink from whoever he could find before returning to the forest. One day in his 262nd year he was having one of his more unpleasant days where he was sober and full of regret, and while searching for something to get him drunk slavers attacked, attempting to capture him. He fought with everything he had, killing several of them, but finally was forced to the ground. As they attempted to shackle him, seemingly out of nowhere, a man appeared, a Sith. After the slavers were defeated Gramum swore a life debt to Darknal as he saw this as a chance to redeem himself, at least in his own eyes.
RP Sample:
Gramum stalked silently through the forest, tracking his enemy, his prey. The man wasn’t even aware of his presence, a silent shifting figure behind him, moving from branch to branch with steps as light as a mouse. This man, this... thief! Had dared to steal from Gramum, taking a good deal of money from him. And the fool had thought to lose him in the forest? Not a very bright fellow all things considered.
Gramum swung down from his perch without a sound, the light mist swirling at his passing. He landed upon dried leaves, revealing his presence as intended. The man spun on his heels and drew his blaster, Gramum swiftly batted it out of his hand before drawing his twin Ryyk blades. The thief stumbled backwards over a small log, his hands raised in defense.
Gramum held an open hand outstretched to him, the man quickly returned the small pouch he had stolen, cowering on the ground as the Wookie made sure it was all there, luckily for the coward it was.
“Think twice before stealing from a Wookie, fool” Gramum growled to the other before turning to walk away.
As Gramum started to walk away the thief rolled to his right and reached for his blaster that had been knocked away a few minutes prior, his fingers sliding into the trigger guard with a light clank. At the sound of nail against metal, Gramum spun, Ryyk blade going end over end, slamming into the thiefs chest. Gramum roared as the only shot the thief managed to fire skidded across his outer arm, the smell of burnt hair filled his nostrils as he ripped his blade from the corpse. Even though it hurt, at least it was only a flesh wound he thought to himself as he walked home.
