Okay, so while the map we have is pretty nice, I think it's time to maybe get something newer and better and more expansive. Or at least edit up the current one and add some planets to it.

Because there are some playable planets on here that are not listed on the map we have right now. And I know that some people may not care about that, but I like to have a bit of information on locations and relative distance between planets and suchlike. It's hard to do that when I don't know which part of the map the planet is in.

I do sometimes check out the other maps out there on the web, but in some cases, their locations seem to contradict ours.

I'm the only person on the site that's worked on the map. It essentially came from a desire to be able to show the kind of territory setup, which can make it a little easier on the story as a whole.

I looked at a few at the time, had to consider which would be the easiest to photoshop, I played around with this one a bit because the image itself was a good size (some of them are really too big and would be such an effort to setup) and it didn't have any outlined territories like a couple of other maps.

When we've gone through the updates to planet boards in the past, when I've gone through and researched them all and decided on ones to add and written descriptions and such, I've tried to add them all to the map, because it was my intention to have them on there, so if I've missed some (the joys of human error) then do please list them and the next time I have chance I'll try and add them (if you do list them, please list which rim they're in as well, that helps a lot).

I was initially much better at trying to put planets in what I could figure out were accurate areas, because so many different maps have planets in different positions, that I basically started taking a bit of a creative liberty with it, ie, setting up planets so they could become important in future plots, fill up some areas that perhaps seemed lacking. It doesn't help that sources conflict and contract each other so much (and now I fondly recall a planet that was once listed as being on the Outer Rim suddenly being in the Core).

But, basically, I don't see us using a new map for a good long while, in terms of priorities it's not a very large one and it does take a considerable amount of work, especially when you have very little photoshop talent (plus it's not really something you can work on simultaneously with other people).

Now, if you/someone/anyone wanted to go out of their way to set up a new map for us, that would be welcome with open arms, until then I'm sorry but my attempt at giving us something will have to suffice.

Well, the first planet that comes to mind is Prazhi, which I've been looking for the last few days.
According to Wookieepedia (and our site), it's in the Expanded regions.

Even on other more extensive maps posted online, I couldn't find it. But I finally found one that had it; I think it was an image taken from a book, a Star Wars atlas or something. And it's listed near Rhomorool, about northeast of it.




I know there are others I remember not seeing on our map (maybe Ord Vaug, also expanded regions), but I'd have to look it over again.

- Gyndine
- Ord Vaug
- Umbara



[with all the different galaxy maps out there, have only been able to find Prazhi on the one from the Essential Atlas -link- and there they have it just right of where the Corellian Run and Hydian Way intersect]
