This is regarding the feasibility of a plot idea myself and another have come up with and discussed. And I don't want to somehow ruin something that may be part of secret plans. Or get too far in planning, only to be told later that I can't do it.
The basic idea is that my senator character is sent on some kind of aid mission, along with a Republic ship.
I had originally considered the destination to be a Republic world, for obvious reasons. But then I thought of another possibility. What if they went to an independent planet? Say, Tibrin?
One... because my senator wants to help all beings in trouble, not just those aligned with the Republic, and seeing their plight, would try to do all she could.
Two... because it is an independent planet, the majority of the senate would not feel it a priority to help out. Not to mention they look down on her and would be unlikely to support her motion, forcing her to go herself.
So I am just wondering if there is any viability to this... especially regarding the ship from the Republic navy that would be delivering the aid supplies, as well as Ina.
Also, along with this, I was wondering if there were any plans in the works for any of these independent planets to join with the Republic... and if so, I could focus on one of those. Say, as a bit of a foot in the door, so to speak.
But anyway... basically I am just asking... Republic senator + Republic ship -> Tibrin. Y/N?
