Brakin was born in Ferentina, a town on the banks of the Andrevea River[/b][/url]. His father was Serec Varss a member of the Naboo Security Force for the Monarchy, his mother was Kytana, a daughter of a prominent member of the aristocracy in Theed. Brakin was the oldest child born to the two being five years older than the others.
Always the adventurous type, Brakin spent most of his days exploring the outlying areas of the town and spending time fishing in the river. Even against the advisement from his father about the Gungans hatred for the humans that took Naboo. Brakin spent time helping his parents around the house with chores and taking care of his twin baby sibloings, Sal and Syliva.
Making friends was easy when he was younger, already showing size and strength and a special ability for protecting them against bullies. Spending time with the kids fishing in the river or running around playing hide and seek was a good way to pass the time in this small village.

Nearing his teenage years, Brakin's thoughts geared towards more of a militaristic mind. Even though his father was a 'soldier' by trade he wasn't strict with his siblings. Brakin would wake up before dawn and run around the town, this was especially difficult for him due to his size as he was already a foot higher and significantly bigger than most kids his age. He would make his bed in a military manner.
It was around his fourteenth birthday his father told him about his families heritage. His father fought the Mandalorians in the war most recently with Mandalore "The Traitor". He also learned his forefathers fought in many altercations throughout the history of the Republic. This inspired Brakin to even further aspirations of the young teen.
During his mid teenage years he was still in school. He kept his same friends since he was a child. Constantly thinking of the day he became a soldier. It was at this time also he really started to get into women. He found them interesting for some reason. He would do stupid things to capture their attention and affections.

Now at the ripe young age of eighteen Brakin decided to enlist in the military. He told his family while they were eating and his father looked on in pride. However his mother and sister were out right opposed to the thought. His brother was also very excited about his brother going into the military.
As a new private he didn't see much combat. He did drills on base and patrols within his units sector.
Two years passed and Brakin was now a Corporal. During a routine patrol things went sour. He was leading his fire team when a series of explosions went off. Out of nowhere there was a series of Mandalorians coming into the area of sight. Brakin shouted of orders and awaited the officers commands. He then led his fireteam to a defensive position. They formed a 360 Degree defensive zone to protect the patrol. They had full visible control of their area. Brakin fought with a vigor that he never felt before.
The battle raged for four hours before an explosive went off right near Brakin. The shrapnel caught his head. Knocking his helmet off and tearing at his face. He went down and all he remembered were the frantic shouts of other men.
Brakin woke up in the medical bay. He spent a few weeks recovering and after that he was given a note from his lieutenant. It was a recommendation, Brakin had been given the chance to leave the front and take his chance at the Officers Academy on Corellia. He took the opportunity and left.

Brakin walked onto the ground of the academy. It was large and quite impressive. A big step up from the bases he was trained and stationed at. Brakin was the oldest student in his class as most of the students came here right after turning eighteen. Four years were required to become an officer and he was to need to work hard if he was to succeed.
His first and second year he underwent basic instructions. Orders, map reading, battle tactics. You name it it had a class. Along with his classroom studies he also had field training. He was training to be a soldier not a lawyer. He spent time in the field with weapons training, which thanks to his previous training he was already a step ahead of his classmates. He showed an aptitude for leading his comrades in exercises. Demonstrating his previous experience.
His third and fourth year was a combination of advanced classroom studies as well as advanced field exercises. They would go weeks in the field to learn to lead and survive. Brakin worked hard, while he wasn't the smartest man in the galaxy he was definitely the one with the most heart in this field. Months came and went and he formed bonds with his fellow students. They pushed each other to the breaking point to form the perfect officer.
Graduation seemed far away when he first set foot onto the grounds, but it was already here. How time flies, and Brakin was ready. Dressed in his parade dress. He marched along with his classmates into the parade grounds. The graduation was over and he was given his assignment. But Brakin had something else in mind. He talked to the commander and wanted to partake in the Special Forces unit of the Republics Military.

He arrived at Alderaan. He stepped into the base and was greeted with immediate hostility. He wasn't ready for the year that was soon to follow. The training covered small unit operations. Sabotage, assassinations of senior officers, base infiltration and intelligence gathering. The year was rough but he was happy with his decision.
He graduated from the special operations training and was given his new assignment. He was sent to Ord Mantell to be in the 6th Special Forces Battalion, A Company, 3rd Platoon.

Brakin woke up early slowly getting out of bed. The sun was barely out yet as it was 05:00 Hours. It was his first day on assignment within the special forces unit. As a fresh lieutenant and a previous enlisted soldier he was ready for the ridicule that was to come. But he was going to show to the men that he was ready for his assignment.
He had decided to get a quick run in before chow. Starting from his barracks going around the base following the wall. He watched as the sun arose, breaching over the wall and shinning red into the base. The metal of the buildings blinded him but he pressed forward. After thirty minutes Brakin headed back to his place and quickly showered. The time was displayed on his chest. He walked in between each and every soldier. Inspecting them closely, checking their eyes. A lot of them ranged in age from twenty-two to their early thirties.
He could see their lives within their eyes. The fresh new soldiers who have never seen combat to the veterans who have fought and lost much on the battlefield.
"Listen here men. I have one thing and one thing only. Follow orders and do so with all your energy. Because that is all you can offer." Brakin said with an authoritative voice. The men responded in a synchronized "Sir, yes sir!" echoing through the base.
Brakin dismissed his men for chow and followed them. He sat down on his own in the mess hall and started to eat his breakfast. The food while not luxury was significantly better then his previous assignment. While eating he was shocked when a soldier within his platoon joined him.
"Hello sir, I hope you don't mind me sitting here." He stated. "It's fine trooper." He replied. "Whats your rank and name?" Brakin asked the young soldier.
"The name is Darik, and I am a Private First Class sir." He responded with respect toward the scarred man. "Good to hear soldier. I hope in due time you come to trust in my judgement." Stated the officer. "I will sir." replied Darik with a stern voice.
After lunch Brakin gathered his troops and started to go over equipment checks. Checking their armor. Their armor was white with red markings to show their unit designation. Brakin inspected each one to make sure they were clean and taken care of by each soldier. "The line between death and life is right here!" He exclaimed as he patted a pile of armor near him. "This will determine if you make it home, make sure it is cleaned everyday. Your NCOs will check these everyday until I say otherwise. Inability to take care of equipment will result in disciplinary action." He stated with a voice of determination.
Brakin left the barracks and proceeded to his office.
"Now the fun part... paperwork." He said sarcastically with a grin on his face. He was finally where he wanted to be in life. But he was ready to climb higher in the ranks and protect the Republic from threats within the Galaxy.
