Coruscant Orbit. Jasper sighed as he looked around one of the Hangar bays on the Dreadnought he called home for sometimes months at a time. Wearing most of his combat armor as he had just returned from a mission of his own. His helmet under his arm he rolled his head as he yawned slightly. The thought of jumping onto one of the freighters and heading down to Coruscant was tempting, but he still had more than a month left on the ship before he got his month off again. He found the ships entering and exiting the Dreadnought rather interesting, he didn't understand why, but it was just something he'd do from time to time when the ship docked in orbit of Coruscant and other big Republic worlds. That and he was waiting to see if there was any new marines coming this time, so far he hadn't seen anyone and he'd know when he'd see one as most of the time, they all reacted the same way when they stepped onto the Dreadnought for the first time. But, it didn't seem like there'd be any new blood coming onto the ship. Stretching his arms he rolled his head once again and turned around, starting to head towards his quarters, having decided that he needs some rest before someone orders him to do something he doesn't like.

Mal stepped off the transport and looked around at the bustle, he remembered these days well. It wasn't so long ago that he would have been among them, cleaning up and getting ready for the next mission. Still, he wasn't here for nostolgia's sake. He had asked Ina for some help and found out that if his squad was still alive, they'd be somewhere on this ship. He'd yet to find any report that listed them as dead or alive, so he was holding out hope. He didn't like the feeling he had though. And the soldier turned bodyguard had learned to trust his feelings lately, more so than he had in the past. Mal stretched his mind out, looking for his squad. Not only could he not find them, he could only push his senses out a few feet still. He needed to keep working on that.
Mal stopped a soldier and asked where anyone from his unit would be and got directions to one of the crew quarters. He started moving his way through the ship, keeping his mind stretched out as far as he could, wanting to know who was around him. Unfortunately everything was something of a blur for him at the moment. Differentiating people was something he had yet to learn, but he wanted to know what was around him. And if someone around him was about to cause him any harm. His jacket might have been made from armorweave, but that only went so far. Two, maybe three, blasts and then he was a goner. He knew several people on board this ship that could put four or five maybe even six shots in the same spot without even trying. He might be on a Republic ship, but these men and women had just been through something terrible. He'd be impressed if none of them came out of it without a few new emotional scars.
Mal checked the deck he was on and then turned down the correct hallway, he was in the correct section, but had yet to see anyone to ask about his squad. He needed to get this over with, he'd covered a small section of the ship and had kept his senses spread out as far as he could the entire time. He was covering at least two floors, though he could only sense a few feet he could go through the ceiling and sense the floor above slightly. Enough to know that someone was there. Though he normally couldn't differentiate between people, he was sure he would be able to sense his squadmates. He'd spent a decade with them, he knew them very well. He was positive he'd be able to sense them..
Mal finally found someone, he couldn't see the rank insignia but could tell that the man was a soldier. "Soldier! Soldier! I've got a question for you if you've got the time!" Mal jogged up to him and after a moment spoke up again, "I'm looking for my squad, maybe you met them...?" Mal pulled out his data pad and pulled up a picture of him in uniform with his squad, holding it out for the other soldier.

Finally he could see his room, but, just as he approached the room he could hear someone call out towards him. He stopped and looked around, only him around so far, and the fact that he was the only one who obviously was a soldier he sighed and waited as he heard the steps jog towards him. Sighing he turned around towards the voice and saw someone who didn't look that well placed on the ship.
He waited for the man to get close enough, holding his helmet in his left hand, resting against his thigh while he looked at Mal, hearing that he was looking for his old Squad he raised a brow. "Ehm... I'm going to need a few names." He said and looked at the datapad, most of the faces of people he only had met a few times had begun to blend together, he was good with names however but just an image wasn't enough for him.
"And, it's Sergeant." He added and looked down at the image once again and looked at the faces of the men in the picture. "I'm sure I've met them some time, it's a huge ship though..." Blinking a few times Jasper tilted his head and reached up to the datapad, pointing with a gloved finger to a man next to Mal. "Him.... I recognize him. Where they on Gargon?" He asked and tilted his head slightly as he looked up at Mal.
"You know what... give me.... 15 minutes to shower and get out of this armor and I'll be able to help you a bit better." He said and looked up at him, putting out his right hand for Mal as well. "I'm Jasper by the way." he said and looked into Mal's eyes with a slight smile, a tired smile, but a smile.
