What to expect:

Horror on Taris (HoT) begins at noon with the Sith activation of the 5KR3-MR prototype, an experimental device stolen from Czerka. Designed to attract and enrage rakghouls, the prototype exceeds all expectations. The monstrous beasts boil up from the ruins and tunnels of the undercity, overwhelming Republic and Empire forces alike.

While combat between player characters is both expected and encouraged, the overall tone of this thread will be one of survivalist horror. Fighting the rakghouls will be bloody, terrifying, and a delaying action at best. Cooperation between the Empire and the Republic may be the only way for anyone to get out of the crater alive.

As the core story thread, HoT will be pushed to completion by Neology and Fromikeable. Post order will be first come first serve on the initial round, then adhering to that throughout. If for any reason you are not able to / are disinterested in responding within a week, please notify Neology or the next poster so that your turn may be skipped. Inactive characters will be treated as NPCs and may rejoin on their next turn so long as they notify us here.

Please feel free to use this thread for any questions, comments, or concerns that you may have regarding this portion of the event. In addition, please use this thread if you'd like to plan out any particular scenes with your fellow writers. :3

At the start of this thread I was thinking of having Jasper being stationed on Chariot 's ship, so if she doesn't mind, he'll join in on the thread with her.

Danee, why would a spec ops trooper be up in a ship in the middle of all the fighting? HoT takes place midway through the event.

You also have Jasper signed up for ASR, which would have your soldier assigned to the ground for battle. Making your timeline super wonky lol

Maybe rethink that starting point?

I was thinking Karta might be the first one to spot the masses of Rakghouls for the Republic side using her ship's sensors. She sees a large mass of targets moving unnaturally fast and attempts to warn the rest of them about it.

So my plan for Locke, as I've said, is mostly for him to be working from some sort of role in a command post directing things. He may venture out depending on how out of hand things get and my ability to balance another thread on top of things. Anyway, probably a pretty communication-heavy role for him, at least in the beginning.

If lancy and snowflake dont meet up or barely get a chance to deal with each other in the nitty gritty brawly thread, they should work together to survive here, all while spewing out bad jokes and retorts at each other. XD

I'm not sure where Francisco comes in, perhaps is out on patrol and after a rakghoul attack links up with the spec ops team?

We'll have to work out the timetable as we go, as Snowflake does have ONE small prior engagement in this thread, but we absolutely must make this happen.

Well, my plan for Looma is for her to stay with her master. Because honestly otherwise she'd probably get killed, since all the Jedi here are way above her skill level. Her TK is pretty dope but otherwise she's rather lacking, especially in the lightsaber department.

But I'm all for making things interesting.... like if she were to get separated from Lancer briefly or something... and he or another Sith had to come save her ass.

I dunno about a patrol so much as him just being... out in the battle. It's a war zone in the middle of a battle, after all; orders are probably less "go patrol this street" and more "there's enemy squads advancing in this sector, go shoot 'em."

Well, Hervor (Darth Allvitende), her involvement will be very straight forward. She's basically coming onto the scene after the events of one of the prelude missions to Horror on Taris, Tarisian Thunder (clicky). She's literally been wandering the wilds of Taris since then until she arrives onto the frontline events of the main event thread Horror on Taris. So yeah, for days on end, she had been fighting to survive the dangers of the wilds including rakghouls to finally arrive among her Sith at the frontlines... to fight more %$#@ing rakghouls.

So, in preparation to contribute my post for tomorrow, is there a particular idea in mind as to where the lines are by the time the main thread starts? Momentum seems to be with the Sith, but has the Republic been pushed back toward the fort? Or is most of the crater still actively contested, and it's just Novus' immediate vicinity that's mostly clear of Republic troops?
