Official Name: Hydrogen Fluoride Chemical Explosive
Faction/Affiliation: Allies of the Dark Jedi Estril
Classification: Toxic Chemical Explosive
Manufacturer: Homemade by the Dark Jedi Estril
Dimensions: 0.5 inch sphere
Weight: 0.61 ounces
Effective Range: As far as it can be thrown
Description: A lightweight nonreactive plastic capsule containing hydrogen in one chamber and fluorine in a second chamber, separated by a nonreactive plastic barrier. On hard impact with a solid object or energy force, the barrier will break and allow the fluorine and hydrogen to mix, resulting in an explosion about 10 feet in diameter. The byproduct is a deadly toxic gas called hydrogen fluoride which is nearly undetectable and will do four things to anyone who comes in contact with it:
1. Dissolve their flesh at an alarming rate and cause permanent tissue death around the areas where it does so.
2. React with the calcium in some beings' bloodstreams, sending them into cardiac arrest and potentially causing a stroke.
3. Eat away at the victim's nervous system, making them oblivious to the pain of any of these side effects until it's too late and sometimes causing braindeath.
4. Poison the victim, causing them to unknowingly inhale the acidic gas only to have liver and kidney failure and eventually kill them if the other side effects didn't.
Other: Keep in mind, this is all based off of the actual properties of the real compound HF (hydrogen fluoride). Since my character who uses these has a filtered respirator made of special nonreactive plastic, he could breathe in an area where he set off one of these with no issues. Also, these could potentially be made without too much difficulty in real life just by buying hydrogen, fluorine, and the correct plastic.
