Planet Name: Kovath
Planet Type: Ice Giant
Habitable: Yes
System: The Scorch Trials
Moons: 3
Position: 7th
Rotational Period: 12 days
Orbital Periods: 725 days
Terrain Overview:
Belonging to an unknown, beyond the outer rim, region of space is the star system of the Waylorians. During the war between the Sith and Jedi that resulted in the great purge of the Sith forever changed their world. Although they were not a powerful warrior race, they were gifted scientist. Emerging from the departure, from the Sith, of their world they spent several thousand years mining their system. Self replicating and cloaked mines whose ability to construct those mines were lost with the Waylorian's destruction. Even if some still exist in the galaxy, their own technologies are a mystery to them.
A millennia old species, such that, they think their homeworld was destroyed by the Sith. Hidden within astroids belts, spatial anomalies, and nebulas within their solar system is a network of mines that, essentially, made their system removed any hyper space routes. Guiding the process is a massive sensor array that can detect any incoming hyperspace vessel a thousand light years out. Instead, sub light engines would take at least ten years to map a new hyperspace route, but it became more trouble than it was worth. Before long the system had become known as the Scorched Trials, being forgotten by most.
Although force users could navigate the system, it would still some of the best starfighter pilots in the galaxy. Beyond the mines, there is a defensive system surrounding a planet that creates a manmade ring. The defense system creates a spatial anomaly around the planet that makes it so only a force sensitive species trained in the force could see it. There could be the most powerful fleet at it's doorstep, but they would not even realize it was there unless took a ship down directly.
Furthermore, the habitat ring surrounding the planet generates an electromagnetic forcefield so any unauthorized ship would lose all power. Think of the sensor array as locks on a door, with Waylorian genetic material being another, the sensor array is the first. If by some chance an alien species got to the habitat ring, a Walorian would still be needed to get through the remaining security protocols.
Despite these defenses, these technologies, much like a lightsaber, are attuned to the force. Such that a single individual well trained in the force could bypass most anything but the mines, though in most cases it would take several force users to disable the defenses. Following entrance into the planet there one would notice the massive arctic tundra on the surface, though covered in a lush green forest. Sensors would detect a planet of about 50% ice, 20% covered in volcanic lava and 30% terrestrial.
The density of the planet is such that it's about 60% stronger in gravitational forces then most of the galaxy. Discovering that only force users would be able to adequately survive on the planet for very long. More than that, the nights are terribly cold, about 30% more, than most planets. Lasting sometimes for days.

Major cities:
Moria: Suffering under Sith occupation for a thousand years has made an impact on their culture. Building tombs, shipyards, and leaving behind ancient holocrons. Eventually some Sith were buried in tombs on their planet. Leaving those tombs in this abandoned, Sith, city was reminder so they would never again be under the bootstrap of another alien invader. The warrior cast in particular studied the military tactics of the Sith, primarily lightsaber techniques and battle tactics over a massive scale. Battle droids had been left behind by the Sith with some detailed records.
Existing within the forest that covers the planet there is a spaceport that was once used by the warrior cast and Sith to launch massive warships. Emptied out before the exodus, now only various Starfighters and droids remain. Like most structures on the planet, quite a bit of the compound is under tons of ice. Masking its location unless it was already known are several caverns of ice that have grown around it in the last two hundred years. Looking more like a naturally existing event than a manmade structure.

History:
Although they are long lived species, capable of living for millennia, they were not born with warrior instincts. In fact, 20,000 years ago, after the Sith invaded their planet, they were still farmers and innocent villagers. Certainly, they were some the best, albeit, reclusive farmers in the galaxy that were known for their long lives and hydroponic facilities. For thousands of years they evolved on this planet after settling on it 12,000,000 million years ago.
They excelled spectacularly, in the science of herbs in medicine they began renowned for their skills as healers with the force. However, they had not once thought of building weapons or defenses beyond a sensor array that could detect vessels from thousands of lightyears away. Accruing some missile defenses on those sensor arrays from time that they had possessed a vast military. Abandoning after they had discovered the force. Thinking that their sensor array would be enough to protect them they simply forgot how to defend themselves.
Part of the problem is their biology. Evolving in a way that allows them to regenerate their mind and store their personality and instincts in their muscle memory every 30 to 60 years has made them somewhat feeble minded. Strictly speaking, they are a race that needs to continually discover who they are again and again. Powerful in the force as they may be, that is the price they pay for it. They can control the process to rejuvenate their cells and live for thousands of years, but they lost the drive to so after several thousand years of peace. The process allows them to retain their instincts, but sacrifice their memories and personality. However, if they were to attempt a skill honed deceades, centuries, millennia, they would be able to pick right where they left off. However, the process is such that, someone entirely knew emerges.
Essentially, this is how they reproduce, though they can still have sexual relations with most lifeforms, however, interbreeding is impossible. Reasoning the attack on their world by the Sith because they were interested in learning that ability. This biological imperative has prevented them from more than a handful of their own species at any given time. They have long sense forgotten how to reproduce. However, they were cloners once who used female host as incubators to create for them new bodies, when they wanted to transfer part of their memories into a new identity.
The process is so grueling and grotesque that that transferred memories evolve into completely new person, but as previously said, that process has long since faded from memory. When the Sith finally invaded their solar system in the year 20,000 BBY, there were only about a few thousand of them remaining. Because they had not yet learned to use the force for more than healing, most of their race were killed. The few remaining were enslaved and sent mine a substance, Wadamite, that was perfect military grade metal to build ships.
Enslaved for a few thousand millennia had taught the one peaceful farmers that they needed more than medicine to survive. Although they had always exported their metals to various cultures, like the Hutts, in the outer the rim they had never learned how process it into building ships, but they learned quickly. The Sith had forced them to, eventually, become freedom fighters and terrorist in order to force them to abandon their planet and solar system. Most Waylorians learned how to wield a sword and basic force techniques. In point of fact, this is the event that birthed their military.
Although it took centuries, they drove the Sith away from their people. However, the price they paid for it was their innocence that would ultimately lead to their destruction. Their world began to divide in the wake of this terrible war. There were three cast that were created out of this tragedy. The warrior cast, the builder cast, counselor cast. The warrior cast grew out of a necessity to never be invaded again. So, left unchecked, they began requesting that counselors develop warships and orbital defense networks that resulted in the manmade ring surrounding their planet. They even constructed battle armor should the Sith ever return.

Because of their long life, they think in terms of millennia. Despite their loss of memories, in their reproductive process, they could still accomplish a great deal by becoming some of the best kept record keepers in the galaxy. Even the Jedi would request use of their archival system created by the counselors. When it comes to the counselors, they are a group of dedicated scientist.
Unlike the warrior and builder cast, they do not rely solely on the use of the force. Regardless, the force is a crucial component to their technology. Most, if not all, require some sort of force sensitivity to be operated. This cast is responsible for the design of any technologies that is used on the planet. They had set out to completely overhaul and replace the sensor arrays that exist surrounding the planet. The cloaked and self replicated minds were created by this cast after they discovered they were gifted programmers.
Returning to the builder cast, they are responsible for the construction and deployment of any technologies developed by the counselor cast. They were responsible for creating shipyards above the sensors array in their solar system. Building the ring around their planet was done their, with itself taking several thousand millennia. Eventually though their species began to stagnate their development. Wanting to return to the lives of farmers and agriculture because of the nature of their long lives were the builder cast.
The warrior and counselor cast was opposed to this change. Eventually their was civil war and the warrior cast launched a preemptive strike on the planet. The builder cast had foresaw this and created bunker to survive the calamity, though still 60% of them were still killed. Escaping the planet were only about a handful of survivors from either the warrior or religious cast. This exodus occurred around 3800 BBY. Some still exist out there in the galaxy, usually Jedi or Sith. They also can't reproduce away from their home world.
However, they learned they could not control the process of retaining muscle memory removed from their home world. Something about their planet allowed them to control their process, but now it can happen in either times of stress, or any period between the passage of thirty or eighty years. Forcing them to lose sight of their home world.
The builders reached a similar fate. Although a handful remain on their planet, operating the sensor arrays and their ring, they have forgotten there were once separate casts or the calamity because of their archives were destroyed in the war. Around this time their species' culture and history have been lost. The Waylorians that did not join the Republic as Jedi can normally be found on a massive generational ship constructed during the Sith invasion.
Becoming the only piece of technology that survived the great calamity. Most of the remaining builders actually live in the habitat ring they created that surrounds their planet.
