Name: Relvan Serani'ia
Race: Diathim
Age: 57 standard years
Birthplace: Millius Prime
Allegiance: Jedi Order
Status: Jedi Knight
Rank: Knight
Height/Weight: 9'0" ft., 130 lbs.
Appearance: Tall and slender despite his powerful build, with softly glowing white skin and beautiful but often expressionless features. Identifies as male, though he says he is male "only in the broadest sense". He is incredibly graceful, and has a sort of weightlessness to his movement, added to by his six wings. He radiates an influential aura of comfort and trust, making him an excellent diplomat. He often wears an ornate golden garment with a hooded collar, giving a regal impression.
Personality: Relvan lives up to the reputation of the legendary "space angels" and is the very definition of kind, understanding and considerate. He is rarely angry and nearly always serene, and it is difficult to make him sad. He will comfort those in need of help, and especially respects the position of people who must make a difficult choice for the good of all. If Relvan is told a secret or a piece of classified information, he will not use it or pass it on unless lives are at stake, and even then recognizes his duty to friends and to the Jedi Order. He is very easy for others to trust as well, often mistaken for a stupid, self-righteous fool by powerful evil adversaries because of this. Despite all of his goodness and purity, however, Relvan is very willing to go into battle over something he finds important, such as freedom, lives of innocents, the defeat of evil forces, and pretty much every other "good" reason to enter into warfare. Relvan is soft-spoken and in both battle and conversation defends more than he attacks, but when someone manages to anger or sadden him, he makes them pay for their sins.

Biography: Relvan Serani'ia originally resided on Millius Prime, the most well-known of the moons of lego. Growing up as a member of the mysterious race of beings known as the Diathim, or "angels", Relvan was fascinated by the stories of the powerful and wise Jedi that he heard from starship pilots that crashed on Millius Prime. At one point early in his life, a Jedi landed safely after overcoming the hypnotic power of the Diathim welcoming commitee and sensed that there was something lingering about the young Relvan. The Jedi, Seran Ovas, marked Millius Prime's location and asked Relvan's guardians if they knew anything about the Force. The Diathim understood it vaguely as the pure energy in everything that kept their race untouched. Seran left it at that and asked if Relvan's guardians would ever be willing to allow their fledgeling to be trained in the methods of harmonizing with the Force. The guardians enthusiastically agreed, as did Relvan. The Jedi left, coming back soon after with the approval of the Jedi Council to take the young Diathim to Coruscant for training as a Jedi. Upon hearing this news, Relvan's guardians were a bit hesitant but knew that the Jedi's intentions were pure. They allowed Relvan to be taken, telling him, "you'll still see us in all the beauty around you." Shortly afterwards, Seran and Relvan landed on Coruscant, and the young Diathim was brought before the Jedi Council. Relvan was deemed teachable despite his older age of seven years due to his serenity and nearly perfect obedience. As he grew older, Relvan's training showed him to be very naturally adept in ways of the Force; however, certain techniques he preferred not to use, due to his own moral code that he followed in conjunction with the Jedi Code. For example, the Diathim never developed skills regarding his opponent's minds. Though he was willing to give his allies or himself an edge, he found probing others' minds and sapping their will to be often quite disturbing and downright rude. It was mainly due to this outstanding example of fair practice that his training began to focus more on techniques involving lightsaber combat. Once Relvan reached the age of fourteen, his natural ability of hypnosis began to show itself and become active more frequently, prompting his training to be redirected to a special tutoring program so as to not constantly interrupt that of the other padawans. He was mostly trained by his master, the Jedi Seran Ovas who brought him to the Jedi in the first place. The growing Diathim learned many things from his master, and in turn Seran gained a different perspective on many matters from Relvan. It developed to the point where Relvan's master Ovas would come to him for advice on matters of importance that there was no time to meditate on. Eventually, Relvan took his place next to his master as a Jedi Knight, having constructed a lightsaber worthy of being put in an art display. Aside from his occasional missions, Relvan learned how to dance, and improved his flight skills with zero-gravity training. He also discovered via an adulthood talk with his guardians at his twenty-year coming-of-age ceremony that adult Diathim could continue to live without eating or breathing and fly without wings, even being capable of living and flying comfortably in empty space without any protective gear. He also was told that as a tradition of the Diathim, he would have to choose a companion and create new life with her. The Jedi Council agreed to allow this process upon hearing how the creation process worked, as it was not any form of mating but rather a reshaping of matter as a tribute to the artistic beauty of existence and life. During a "free period" granted to him by the Council, Relvan found a beautiful companion named Sherca, and they created a fledgeling that they named Gerydinn. Relvan left Sherca in the hospitality of his guardians' home, taught his fledgeling what he could, and returned to the Jedi Temple, where he continued to train and seek further justice. Once Relvan reached the age of twenty-three, he received a message from his family that they had been traveling to meet him when they were encountered by some bounty hunters and were caught in a tractor beam. The message implored his help, and Relvan immediately complied. Once he found them, however, their situation had worsened. They were imprisoned and their eyes had been burned out to prevent their hypnotic power from affecting their captors. Sherca told Relvan that their fledgeling was still safe at home with her guardians, but that the bounty hunters were also slavers and planned to sell them as rarities. Stunned and numbed by the slavers' lack of respect for beauty and their destructive natures, Relvan advanced on the bridge of the ship and all but disintegrated the two bounty hunters piloting it with amber lightning, feeling nothing as he did so. Upon exploration, the Diathim found that the entire ship was full of slaves of varying races, all having been captured by only two individuals. Desperate to save them, Relvan piloted the ship as best he could to a nearby planet with conditions suitable for all the hostages (as they were mostly human) and set down there. He released the other prisoners, then went back for his family. Sorrowful and in shock, he helped them return to Millius Prime and made sure they were safe and comfortable before traveling back to the Jedi. Upon speaking with his old master Seran Ovas, the Diathim found that he could not make peace with his lack of emotion during the conflict. Seran comforted him, reminding him that emotion can overwhelm the mind and that he was able to help them because of his clear head. Despite this, Relvan could not self-justify his apathy, and it still haunts him to this day.
Roleplay Sample: Relvan turned as he heard a knock on his door. Standing up as much as he could without hitting his head on the ceiling, he walked over to it and pressed the "open" button. Upon seeing who stood there, the Diathim smiled and stepped aside, beckoning for the visitor to come inside. "It's been a while since I've seen you," Relvan said, seating himself again. "Make yourself comfortable. How have you been?"
The Diathim's old Jedi master, Seran Ovas, smiled wearily and sat down. "Thank you," he said gratefully, leaning back and looking up at Relvan. "Things have been a bit chaotic lately, but, you know... peace over passion. That in mind, I have a rather delicate situation that I'd like you to accompany me to fix."
Relvan looked into the Jedi's eyes, slightly concerned. "Is there a problem, Master?"
"I won't lie, things could be better." Seran sighed and sat up more. "There's a Sith wreaking havoc on the Dawning Dusk command ship above Coruscant. He says that he wants to speak with a real diplomat, and has killed anyone he deemed 'not smooth enough.' So now, you're on the job."
The Diathim adopted a look of determination. "Send me in."
The Sith Lord Darth Eschaton swung his lightsaber about, chopping at the walls and floor as he sauntered down the corridor of the Dawning Dusk. He was getting impatient, and he was about to carry out what he had threatened and crash the ship when he heard the hiss of the lift behind him. Turning, the Sith Lord gazed upon a tall, incredibly beautiful being, dressed in a long golden garment and sporting three pairs of magnificent wings.
Darth Eschaton hated its fashion sense.
"So, you're finally here," the Sith said, swinging his saber about. He hit a button on its side, and a second crimson blade extended from the hilt's bottom. "I hate talking. Let's make this conversation simpler, all right? I want this ship, but the armada will shoot me down if I try to leave. I'm only still here because I said that I would crash it." Eschaton smirked. "Idiots. Anyway, I have heard that you are a worthy opponent. I wish to fight. If you can persuade me to end my evil ways--" the Sith smiled like he doubted it was possible-- "or defeat me in lightsaber combat, you can have the ship. If I win, I get to keep it and you prevent fire as I leave. If you don't keep your word, I will crash this ship with both of us on it." Darth Eschaton assumed a ready stance, twirling his saberstaff. "Show me your moves, Jedi."
Relvan stepped forward out of the lift, taking out his lightsaber as he walked forward. He activated it and held it out, serenely channeling the Force. His saber's amber blade was nearly two meters long to compensate for his height, giving him an imposing appearance despite his calm demeanor. "Please, just leave now," the Diathim said with a neutral expression. "You've done enough damage here."
The Sith Lord laughed. "That's the best you can come up with? 'Please leave now.' No! Fight me, or we both die!"
Relvan sighed. "It was worth a try. Very well... let's fight."
Darth Eschaton leapt forward, screaming in fury. Relvan met him with his blade, knocking aside the first strike and swiveling to block the other end of the Sith's saber. Growling, Eschaton shot a blast of Force Lightning at Relvan. He jumped backward, absorbing the shock with his saber as he reassumed his defensive pose. "You can do better," the angel said as he relaxed, letting the Force guide his actions.
