I'm definitely open to suggestions here, since I'm still a little shaky on exact mechanics. But this is what I have so far.
Name: Eiri Zyne
Race: Human
Age: 19
Birthplace: Cinnagar, Empress Teta
Allegiance:
The Republic
Status:
Senator's Daughter/Heiress
Rank: Senator's Aide
Height/Weight:
5' 6", 126lbs
Appearance:
A lanky, unhealthily pale girl with grey blue eyes and fair fine hair. She has a long face, and long limbs, the resulting uncanny effect offset by a gentle smile. Her complexion comes from her mother's side of the family, they hailed from a dark lunar colony and as a result she's somewhat sun intolerant.
Personality:
Eiri is, at first glance, a fluffy, spoiled, but generally benign and gentle society girl. On Empress Teta and Coruscant she's comfortable in parties, high class boutiques, and closed door negotiations. Oh, she's a bit quiet, more of a listener than a talker, but she always has the choicest gossip and fantastic eye for fashion. Under stress and in her personal life Eiri is still a clothes horse with a love for information, but she also exhibits a keen intellect, sharp wit, and questionable set of morals. She has a pessimistic streak and a reserved pragmatism, and she's always looking for an edge. Secretly she's a little insecure about her looks, though she tries to hide it. It's uncertain what, if anything, she's actually loyal to, she's an obedient daughter and citizen but nothing more than that. She has a good eye for beauty and love of fine craftsmanship and art. Sunburns easily, prefers wearing cool colors because warm ones make her look washed out.
Ships/Vehicles:
Her family has a few ships on Coruscant but the one Eiri knows best is The Grey Maiden, a small sized cruiser, originally for small, local jaunts but later retrofitted to function for longer journeys, including being hyperdrive capable.
Equipment:
An assortment of very nice clothes (mostly in shades of blue), high quality sunscreen, a state of the art data pad she keeps on her at all times, a holdout blaster, two vibro blades. One rather old protocol droid, nicknamed Amee.

Biography:
Her mother was a new money daughter of the ruling family of lunar colony in the Empress Teta system who gained prestige by marrying the heir to the much older Zyne family, native to Cinnagar. She took advantage of her new status and natural wit to rise to various political positions, first as a Senator's aide and then as a Senator, while her husband made the most of his family's inherited wealth. Eiri was born on Empress Teta during a brief trip back to the system, she spent most of her childhood on Coruscant. When she was seven her mother was finally made Senator, purportedly after pushing the previous Senator to the brink of a nervous breakdown by quietly encouraging his paranoia and stress. Mashare Zyne quickly recovered from the rumors of foul play that plagued her early days in the Senate and became renowned as a clever mediator and negotiator.
Subsequently Eiri was given a stellar education, not only in traditional politics but also in her mother's own brand sugary ruthlessness, to act carefully and never unnecessarily cruelly but always in one's own self interest. Her relationship with her parents is outwardly friendly, but very shallow, they never seem to be in active conflict with one another and are even demonstratively affectionate in public, but Eiri seems to prefer keeping her own company. The one possible exception is Eiri's younger sister, Thalassa, aged 9, who she seems to dote on in her own way, but even that is a relationship primarily marked by extravagant gifts and indulgences rather than emotional connection. Eiri has many acquaintances but few friends.
Her education was primarily handled by tutors, with the exception of self defense which was taught by a member the official senatorial security team, and later one of her Father's hired personal guards. Even as an adult she practices combat skills on a semi regular basis.
She can more than hold her own in purely defensive close combat, mostly throws and evasion, and regularly carries a few worst case scenario weapons, generally of the small blaster/blade variety. Offensively, she has a good hand with a vibroblade and is very good with a blaster if there is some distance between her and the target, at closer range or in desperate situations she gets sloppy.
Eiri also excelled at most academic subjects she put her mind to, with the exception of maths which proved a sore subject with her. Her education was well rounded, and she learned quite a few skills,
of varying usefulness. She has perfect pitch. She knows how to pilot on standard controls well enough to send out a distress signal and mitigate a crash landing, she's had an in depth classical education with a heavy emphasis on politics, history, etiquette, and technology. She can navigate most computer systems, and slice the less protected ones. She can take notes and manage senatorial paperwork, and to a much lesser degree can handle financial matters. She loves art history, especially that relating to her home system. Indeed she was in many ways a perfect student, clever, conscientious, and dutiful. Her difficulty keeping teachers, with nearly a dozen fired for various reasons over the course of her academic career, was the only mar on her record.
As Eiri reached her teens her mother started pressuring her to go into politics herself, not uncommon among moneyed families in the Republic's upper class. Eiri started out assisting her mother and helping her father run the family fortune on Coruscant, keeping her parents' papers, meeting with business associates, and watching the quiet efficient underworld of Senator's assistants. She showed a particular knack for dealing in luxury goods, with a talent for recognizing quality and winning over potential buyers, and her original innate ability pushed her to even further explore the art world. It also served as a way for her to connect with the home system she has spent so little time in. Although these early jobs were politically unofficial while she was still underage, she learned a lot about the workings of the Senate. More recently she's been officially deputized, so to speak, as a Senatorial aide. While the position holds little official power she clearly has her mother's trust and as Mashare Zyne's eyes and ears she can act as a messenger, observer, and even proxy.
Meanwhile her status as heiress to a significant slice of money in the Empress Teta system and elsewhere around the galaxy gives her her own influence. The balance between personal interests and political ones is delicate, and Eiri doesn't mind occasionally intentionally obfuscating the lines to confuse or intimidate, though she's careful to stay well within legal measures. She has been on a few trips, both with Senatorial committees and business conglomerates, helping her mother and father in turn and acting as a sort of go between where anti corruption efforts (which are not air tight in corporate Coruscant, but which the Zynes try to at least appear to respect) might prevent Mashare from directly interfering in matters that would impact her personal life. Although it would be easy for Eiri to work solely to the benefit of her family, for her own reasons she's still determined to do everything in her power to represent Empress Teta's best interests in the modern political quagmire. In light of the recent conflict with the Sith Empire trained, non threatening looking diplomats could come in handy.
Roleplay Sample: Coruscant might have been a hive of corruption, but it had the best art galleries in the galaxy and an heiress of Eiri's caliber could get into any of them she liked. This one wasn't her favorite, there was only so much you could do with modernist sculpture, but the drinks were nice and the attendees were the cream of society. The Pantoran twins standing a few feet away from her, for example, were so clearly blue blooded-as well as blue skinned- it hurt. There was just something about the accent the assured way they spoke, that made it impossible to imagine them being born without cortosis spoons in their mouths.
"Mandalore the Reclaimer..." she heard one of them stage whisper, and she edged closer. The Mandalorian Problems, as she had heard them called, were on everyone's mind at the moment.
The other twin, a little slimmer than his brother, replied. "Papa keeps saying we need to focus on reliable assets, he was practically screaming at me earlier." he whined to his brother. "A few Mandalorian upstarts, some Sith scum and he wants to move all our holdings to the Deep Core. You're almost as bad."
"It's not my fault Papa and I understand how economics work and you don't." the rounder twin said sharply. Eiri felt her lip curl, and she brushed past them to go get another drink, before settling down to tap out a message to her mother. It was the third conversation she'd heard that night about pulling investments back into the heart of the Republic, away from now dangerous trade routes and contested territory. That meant it was a trend, like foil covered slippers or dark opera cloaks, and where there was a trend there was room to exploit it.
She walked and talked for a little longer, and then bought the least offensive of the sculptures on the way out. You had to support local artists, if only in the hope that they would someday get better.
