Official Name: The Shadow's Ghost
Faction/Affiliation: Independent : Operated by Kaya Oren
Classification: Small Freighter
Dimensions-
Height: 10m
Width: 30m, at wings
Length: 45m
Crew Necessity: One Required. Two additional astronavigation stations behind the main pilots seat.
Armament: One small turbolaser, front mounted, without gimballing. Relies on ship's heading for aim.
Hangar Facilities/Starfighter Capacity: None.
Other: Storage compartments have been retrofitted into four separate and secure holding cells, each with full necessary amenities.
Design Goals: Originally designed as a light cargo hauler, the Ornifex AQR4-Z2 was never a commonplace design, deemed a little too clunky over many of the galaxy's cheaper and more utilitarian models. First retrofitted by its original owner, and known then as the 'Secehern', the vessel was converted to carry live, illegal animal cargo for sport hunting on various worlds, with eight cells providing containment. When Kaya acquired the vessel, she reduced the number of cells to four in order to give each one more space for the transport of sentient species, namely the bounties she planned to be hunting.
Description/role:
Unlike most light freighters, The Shadow's Ghost carries only live, sentient beings as cargo, though the consensual nature of that transport is up to debate. First constructed as a stock Ornifex AQR4-Z2, the vessel was purchased by a smuggler known as Lotanis Shev, who catered to the rich and immoral sportsman of the rim worlds, shipping them live, endangered species to hunt and kill on their own personal grounds. Though he had influence in certain circles, his activities also led him to have several enemies. One of these, a Hutt called Dejra, deigned to place a price on his head.
It was chance that led Kaya Oren to stumble upon Lotanis, a fortunate series of circumstances involving a Toydarian, a Duros, and more than enough alcohol to drown the both of them, as well as the smuggler. He awoke in one of his own containment cells, with the Zeltron bounty hunter piloting his ship back to deliver him to Dejra.
Slim and narrow, with the exception of the two wings that spread to either side, The Shadow's Ghost is not a necessarily attractive vessel, but it serves its purpose well enough. With the decent amount of space on board, the four converted containment cells are more than capable of serving their function of holding whichever bounty Kaya happens to track down next. Though it may not be the fastest ship in the galaxy, and certainly isn't very heavily armed or armored, it's small enough to go unnoticed in most circumstances, which is perfectly fine for Kaya.
