Loud like a Converter [private]

It'd been several years since Selun had set foot on Prazhi and honestly she could say she wouldn't miss it. This was probably because every time she had to actually stop on the planet it was to bust frauds or major trader cons. This time around it was no different.

Disembarking from the Public Transport, Selun lit a cigarra and finished as she went through customs and walked her way towards a particular Cantina. The reason why she was going to one? Well she had a tip that one of her acquaintances was frequenting it and that colleague of hers may just have the right tips for her to conclude her business on this Sector.

What was her business you ask? Well it was the business of the Druza Sisters. Two traders who had gotten into the Power Converter's market, with a fondness for supplying small colonies. The problem was that the Power Converter's malfunctioned and had actually caused harm to those Colonies. Why did she care? or why she was helping those colonists out? Because of her friends was one and had asked for help. She wasn't on Jedi Business and the scope of the situation wasn't big enough to involve law enforcement and the colony was outside Republic Space. So why was she helping?

Because even with war over their heads, the Jedi had bigger problems to worry about, but if they turned away from the small problems then they would be failing their sacred duties. At least that was her rationality.

Regardless, her goal wasn't to nail the Druza Sisters. Getting to them would not fix a thing, instead she wanted information on where they were getting their supplies from. At the very least if she could get the supplier out of the market, it'd help out those out of the way small time colonies.

As she made a turn, she almost bumped into a pair of Trandoshans who were leaning to the wall. Though they hissed at her, nothing came of it. Well she might have overheard something. "Where are the others? the human is gonna get away."

Selun raised an eyebrow but minded her own business, as she kept walking and entered the Cantina. She scanned the room, there were Twi'leks, Rodians and Duros, Neimoidians, Biths and other Alien races. Among them a human, her acquaintance Garrick Varthan.

Selun strained a smile for a second and approached him from behind.

"Had a feeling I'd run into you." She said, with her gentle tone. Though Garrick knew her long enough to know it meant "I've been looking around for you." Selun placed her one arm on her waist, she was wearing her usual traveling attire, the black coat and spacer clothing.

Prazhi wasn't one of Garrick's favorite places in the Galaxy but it was far from the worse. The worst place Garrick knew had to be Nal Hutta, which was kinda funny considering that his favorite place in the whole Galaxy orbited that cesspit. Universe had a weird sense of humor sometimes. Anyhow Garrick wasn't on Prazhi to have fun but rather on business. One of his local guys had gotten themselves into something off a mess with the local organized crime and called Garrick in to smooth out the things. So far things had gone pretty well and it looked like he would be off this rock in no time.

He had decided to take some time off and have some R&R at one of the local cantinas, maybe get in a hand or two of Pazaak or Sabbacc. He had had some success on that front earlier but it was funny how folks tended to stop playing you after you had won a couple of rounds with an outrageously good hand, which Garrick found a touch insulting. He couldn't help having a good luck when it came drawing cards and the sense to play them in a more intelligent manner than your average Joe Spacer. Thus he had settled at the bar, where he remained until someone spoke right behind him.

"Had a feeling I'd run into you."  

Garrick summoned his most charming smile and turned around to face the Jedi. "A lady like you having feelings about me? Should I be worried."

He'd known Selun for a while and figured her a decent sort. Still she was a Jedi which meant some carefulness around her was warranted, though not much more than Garrick warranted for his other acquaintances whom considered laws as something more than a set of guidelines with good intentions.

" In any case, it's nice to see you. Why don't you take a seat while I order a round for us. We can exchange news over drink." he continued.

Selun gave Garrick a soft smile at his response. "Oh, yes. Ladies such as myself always bring trouble." She said, then moved to the chair next to the informant and placing her only arm over the table. Though partially a jest, it seemed that almost every time she met with Garrick or he did with her, one of the two brought troubles to the other. "Not much trouble this time, I'm afraid." The Jedi said reassuringly.

She gave a quick furtive glance at the door, it seemed the Trandoshan's were still waiting for their companions, hopefully they'd let her and her acquaintance have a quiet chat. "Not opposed to a drink, but I'd make it a light one." She replied. "Specially if you got friends coming to pick you up." The Jedi Knight gave an encouraging nod at the entrance to the Cantina. She leaned back and made a light shrug. "Who got into trouble with who time?" She said, in a slightly more serious tone.

Though unforeseen, Selun was the patient sort of people that didn't necessarily felt anxious when her plans spun out of direction. She'd been dealing with these kind of situations since she became a Padawan, so in fact Selun was the kind of person that got anxious when things moved smoothly. It was one of those weird developments that appeared after working with Spacers for decades.

Regardless, Selun could wait and lend a hand to her informant friend then ask for assistance for locating the supplier of faulty Converters...

Garrick wasn't Force sensitive, he had checked, but he had a sixth sense when it came to excrement hitting the turbines and right now that sense was tingling like there was a bucketful of grade A bantha dung flying towards the engine room singing 'All Stars Burn as One' as it went on. Selun's words about friends coming to pick him up was the trigger this time and he inwardly cursed for not noticing the big ugly lizards making sidelong murderous looks at him. They were probably working for Razik, which meant that the tinpot dictator had decided that negotiations were for losers. Well frak. This could get ugly real quick.

With a subtle hand motion Garrick activated his comm.'s distress signal, alerting his crew to head over to his location double time. Whether or not they would get here before a fight broke out remained to be seen.

"And here I was hoping to handle this whole mess with diplomacy." he said as their drinks arrived. "Looks like Razik sent his scaly minions to negotiate on his behalf."

"One of my guys got mixed up with a local crime family. I haven't got the details, Razik's Huttese is atrocious and I don't speak whatever he is speaking so..." Garrick explained shrugging. "I though things were going alright but from the look of it Razik isn't interest in talking anymore."

"The good thing is that they aren't going to jump us here. Prazhi might not be a shining beacon of law and order but it ain't wild space either. They're probably going to wait us to leave and gank us outside." Garrick said, taking a nonchalant sip from his bottle. The cold brew wasn't bad. Not particularly good either just not bad. Still, it was far from the worst drink he had had in his life.

"Unless, of course, they are idiots." he added.
