Biography:
Tahn's parents were both Echani Warriors originally from Eshan, the Echani home world. Tahn's father, Kelkath came across a Mandalorian soldier who was left for dead in an alleyway by their home on Eshan. Despite the culture diversity and differences the Echani and the Mandalorians shared, Kelkath was a kind and open-minded sort, who felt compelled to help the man. Kelkath brought him into their home and began to nurse him back to health. During this time of healing, Kelkath picked the mind of the Mandalorian learning as much about the culture and their traditions. After a few months of recovery Kelkath was infatuated with the Mandalorian lifestyle. His new friend told him of his ship and offered to take him and his wife to Mandalore if they wanted to try to pass the trials and become Mandalorians themselves. Kelkath and his wife agreed and after passing the grueling and violent trials they became well respected Mandalorian Warriors.
As time went on Tahn was eventually born, his mother dying in childbirth. As soon as he could walk, Tahn began to be trained in the way of Echani Martial Arts and Mandalorian wrestling by his father. He always told Tahn that the knowing the combat styles of their home world would make him a more efficient Mandalorian Warrior. As Tahn grew so did his skill which had some negative consequences. He would often provoke fights with other children and beat them causing him to be reprimanded by his parents and authority on more than a few occasions. Tahn was also saturated in Mandalorian culture and taught the language as well as the Echani art of reading body language and Basic. When Tahn was thirteen he set off to pass the verd'goten. After a long arduous trial, Tahn returned a victor obtaining his suit of Mandalorian armor and ,more importantly, proved himself as a true Mandalorian.
Kelkath apprenticed Tahn until Tahn was 18. They fought in many battles together sharing both victories and defeats. As the anniversary of his mother's death drew near, Tahn requested leave to go back to Mandalore in order to honor his mother by visiting her grave. While Tahn was gone, Mandalore the Liberator led their fleet to destruction. Tahn lost his Father, Master, and clan all at one moment. In honor of his father, Tahn painted his once black armor, red. Tahn worked classless for a year until meeting his future clan leader, D'Vhex D'Resh.
Roleplay Sample:
Tahn looked over at his father, as sweat dripped from his brow. They had been sparring in the Echani style for the past two hours and Tahn's body was beginning to wear down. He looked fiercely at his father as he decided the best course of action would be to finish this fight before it dragged on any further. He charged at his father sliding into a crouch in order to push his fist into his father's gut. As Tahn slid into place, his victory assured he caught a glimpse of a smirk growing on the face of his father. At that moment Tahn realized that he had just lost the spar as he felt his father's leg connect with the side of Tahn's head, sending him spinning into the ground.
His father walked towards Tahn just laughing as he offered Tahn a hand up. "Well, you're getting better but you really need to be more patient. Every time you lose your patience you lose the fight. Keep your guard up and only strike when you know you'll make contact," he says as he pulls Tahn up to his feet. "When you make the first move in a fight like this you lose
the advantage. Its easier to counter an attack because once you can see your opponents' openings. Be patient, watch for an opening and then strike." Tahn rubbed his sore head, thankful that his father hadn't kicked him any harder then that. Tahn looked at the smiling face of his father as his vision began to grow dark.
Tahn's eyes opened as the realization of where he was registered in his mind. He wasn't a kid again training with his father. He was back on Mandalore and it was still early in the morning. Tahn looked around his family's apartment as he thought of who he'd end up working for next. With no family left living and no clan he felt lost with no purpose , like a blaster with no one to shoot it. He thought one last time about the pleasant memory of his father. "Maybe today will be a good day..." He murmured to himself. He then climbed onto his feet and began to prepare himself for the day.
