Character Name Full Name • Kerrick Void Race • Human Corellian Birthplace • Talus, unspecified exact origin Age • 32 Gender • Male Sexuality • Hetero Faction • Republic, Special Forces Concept • Captain, in charge of a unit of armored soldiers Languages • Basic, Common Corellian (Coronet Dialect) Assets • A soldier at heart, he does not own much more than what is standard equipment. With red accents, the armor is predominantly white. The plates are thick for the purpose of protection, vacuum sealed to the black body glove that comes up to his neck. A red pauldron sticks out instead of a standard plate over his left upper arm which denotes him as a officer. Because of his occupation in the Special Forces branch of the Republic, not only does he wear heavy style armor, but he utilizes heavier ordnance compared to the standard regular of the Republic Army. A utility belt holds fragmentation grenades, thermal detonators, power pack and gas cartridges, and some bacta incase of injury. A side holster on his right side holds a blaster pistol as a backup weapon along with a combat knife placed elsewhere. He utilizes a heavy blaster rifle, a Republic standard, meant to punch through the armor utilized by the Sith Empire. While that is his usual, he can change up his weaponry and equipment to whatever he sees fit for the operation. Void in his current armor, using a Marksman rifle instead of his usual, in a skirmish with pirates. Assets he will carry on outside the military would be several hundreds of thousands of credits earned from service. Not all of it was earned on an officer’s pay, a lot of it was for his contribution to the war, however more recently the pay has been increasing his wealth faster than before. Appearance Face Claim • Phelan Davion Height & Weight • He standards at a 6’2”. Overall Looks • Phelan cuts his hair short, not styling it at all. He also has a short beard that connects to a mustache. His hair is black, his beard and eyebrows a dark brown. His skin looks smooth and is on the tan side, which makes his light blue eyes stand out from his dark complection. He also has a scar that clips the end of his left eye socket. There is another scar along his chest, but there is no record of him losing his chest plate in battle. His body is very well built with him being noticeably strong for a soldier. His entire unit look more like brutes for their thick appearance. Personality Profile The most noticeable thing about Kerrick is how aggressive and brutal he is. Sith are known to be self centered and harsh, but even that pales in comparison to his own malice that he carries. Kerrick would not fit in any other unit because of this, thus making him notorious for his position. His men below him reflect a certain degree of aggression, but he is one of the most excited individuals within the Republic. He finds much joy in taking on enemies of the Republic. This makes him hard to work with outside the Republic military. While he doesn't shoot civilians for fun, he won't hesitate to inflict collateral damage if victory is secured. He doesn't reason and he doesn't talk. For allies of his, most Jedi are wary of his malicious tendencies, often conflicting with him whenever he serves with them. He still respects the chain of command, but he will openly question orders he finds abysmal. Anything that falls before that line won't result in a public retort. He has been marked down that he isn't particularly caring for Jedi or Sith ideals, being more loyal to the Republic than them. It can be noted that he can be very blunt with things. Background Father • Jarol Void, 58, Ex-smuggler Mother • Natalia Arid Void, 54, “Adventurer” Siblings • N/A Other Important Connections • N/A Overall History • Malicious intent was not something he was born with. In all actuality, he was born a more roughneck Corellian than a hardliner soldier. His father had taken an arrow to the knee by another Corellian he met on one of his last runs, which led to him heading back to Corellia to settle down and have a son. Their son would also take up their compelling wish to move around the galaxy. How he would pursue that was another story. He would be raised as any other child. School was rough as other boys were tough to one another. While the Republic and Sith Empire were battling it out, he had a more isolated life. He, nor his parents, cared much about the conflict. They weren't aristocrats nor did they live on Coruscant. His father even had a illegal profession. Kerrick couldn't settle on his profession, so eventually he started looking at military and more intense jobs. His father was a experienced smuggler, moving cargo from place to place. He took more of his mother's passion and mixed with his father's want for material gain. Unlike his father, his mother struggled with earning any money. She good at scamming out smugglers and such to earn more money to continue on, her goal to see the galaxy. Kerrick wanted to see it, but he didn't want to be broke. So he joined the Republic armed forces. In the heat of war, he made sure he went into a branch that made him see more of the galaxy. He wasn't going to get locked into a job with the Sith Empire and the Navy was not something he was into either. He looked at the Republic Army, however due to how the war had been going, he figured he would get a higher skilled job. The Republic, at the time of 3,607, the Sith Empire and the Republic were at odds. War was pretty much inevitable. However seeing the galaxy through a large scale deathmatch was not something he was keen on. So instead of going into the Army and becoming cannon fodder, he went into the Special Forces. While he did escape becoming cannon fodder, he still got thrown into the chaos. That was when he underwent changes. Him in his heavy rifleman armor, using his preferred blaster. He was assigned to the 96th Raider Company in 3,605, a year before the war. The unit had a long history with the Republic, being one of the first offensive units to be developed. They utilized more advanced technology than average infantry and were given privilege to better training. Because it was Special Forces, it relied on itself for support. The Navy and the Army did not complement them nor were they given the same assets. The Raider Company was a infantry based group, and as such they worked primarily without armored or close air support. He went in as a heavy rifleman. His weapon was a high powered blaster rifle meant to go up against armored enemies and even do some damage to light vehicles. His armor was advanced, built to be tough and keep him alive. Riflemen were the most numerous in the group, but they weren't the most expendable. His unit were recognized for the self supporting technology given to them. Heavy riflemen took on both armor and infantry, support gunners suppressed and took on copious amounts of troops, and anti mech troops carried weaponry to ward off vehicles of both ground and air origin, also acting as demolitionists for fortifications. He was theoretically sound when using shock and awe tactics, making use of their movement to disrupt enemy positions prepared for waves of traditional armies. His unit was heavily relied on with similar units for offensives that would be mounted later. 3,604. The war started. For an unspecified reason, there was no appointed corporal for his squad and so the Sergeant at the time appointed him. He had not been given leadership training, so he learned his role as he went. This created a few problems in his first battle, being sent out to fight in the outer rim against the rapidly advancing Sith Empire. The first battle was disaster. Kerrick’s sergeant was killed early in the battle, leaving the squad without a leader. Kerrick would take charge later in the battle after pairing up with another squad whose chain of command was also wiped out. Kerrick, at that point, was more concerned with survival that anything else, and retreated with the other forces doing so quickly afterwards. He would be promoted to sergeant afterwards in a rush to refill the command. He didn't hesitate to appoint a corporal. As a sergeant he would start to transform from the man he was into a more cruel beast. The battles he fought in were always brutal with the opposing soldiers giving no remorse or mercy to his own side. He would match them with his own ferocity. As more and more of his compatriots were shot and cut down, he would get more and more cold, hardening up to the inhumanity of war. He would finish the war as a Sergeant Major, receiving several awards. His unit was shattered by the fighting, being very low in numbers by the end of the war. He would be promoted to captain and made in charge of the company after the war in 2,594. His experience in the bloody violence in the war kept him at his rank. Lack of open engagements kept many in their positions. The problem was, while the war was over, he was a man of war. While the battles and open arms exchange was no longer existing, he acted as if it was still wild with conflict. He wasn't totally off the mark. Many different organizations were starting to rise up along with the Mandalorians. His unit began to reflect his own ideals, becoming very aggressive in their own ways. The 96th Raider Company became one of the harshest companies within the Special Forces, staying in very good strength. They were notorious for being very strong, for Humans. A little joke was made about how Kerrick was preparing for a war with wookies. He wouldn't shy away if there were wookies to fight too. |
