Character Name Full Name • Eefr’ahj’akelith Nickname • Rahja Kel, Rahja Kelith, Rahja (or just Rah if you ever really get to know her) Callsign • Reaver (Hound 02 / Hound 2) ((Note:"Hell Hound" group are elite soldiers used as glorified hit-men, covert ops, and black ops agents for the Republic. They never really acted as a group though when any number of them were off duty they would often spend time together...however, these times were few and far between.)) Race • Chiss Birthplace • Csilla Age • 40 Gender • female Sexuality • hetero (though she'll flirt with anyone if she needs to) Faction • Republic (though she still holds some ties to the jedi, but very few) Concept • E-9 Command Sergeant Major (Special Ops, Continuing "Hell Hound" member) Languages • Basic (fluent), Cheunh (nearly fluent), Minnisiat (some), Sy Bisti (fair), Huttese (fair) Assets •
Appearance Face Claim • Zoe Saldana (Gamora, specifically) Height & Weight • 5'8", 138lbs Overall Looks • Like all Chiss, Rahja has deep blue skin, blood red eyes that seem to glow, and her ebony black hair falls to the middle of her shoulder blades. She is of medium build, lean and well developed, with good muscles from jedi and military training. Her face isn't what one would typically call a 'classic beauty'...but rather, sculpted and slightly angular. This fits well with the lean and tall form of that is typical among her species. She has several scars across her body: over the top of her left shoulder, three short ‘claw’ marks around her right side and onto her back, two slug shot scars: front right hip, and front left shoulder. Recent additions to her body are sharp, angular, silvery markings that are similar to tattoos cut into her skin, from her face down the length of her torso (front and back), something she received from a recent trip to Csilla. She always wears two rings on the middle finger of each hand. One ring is distinctly feminine in its shape, the silver twisted gracefully around a deep red ruby, the color of her eyes...the engagement ring she received from Shelk (Link to design). The other is more masculine, sized down to fit her finger and bearing a square sapphire...a ring she had gotten for Shelk, but was never able to give to him (Link). She also wears a necklace with a blood red glass pendant set in silver ( Link ) which Shelk had worn and that she took from him the day he died. The last necklace she wears is practical as well as meaningful. Designed and modified on Csilla, the circular pendant has several layers of small cogs, gears and metal, topped by an icy blue crystal. Beneath those layers, the gears are able to be turned just enough to switch on the small tracking devise that transmits directly to Sender. The low energy of the signal allows it to remain undetected by all but the most sophisticated scanning systems. (Link) Field wear:
Hell Hound Emblem: 1wolffy1.deviantart.com/art/Cerberus-90310036 ((credit to creator)) -- Embroidered onto a black cloth arm band and only worn on base, as instructed by "the General," or specific orders. Casual wear: Preferring dark colored clothing, Rahja can often be seen in corseted tops and either form fitting pants or in skirts. Occasionally she will wear white or cream colored button down tops or dark colored dresses. She prefers to wear her boots at all times and it’s not often that she will be seen without them. She can, at times, be seen wearing silver bangles on her wrists, heavy necklaces, or a belt consisting of shells, metals, and stones she made on a trip to Shili with the help of a jedi knight she’d met during her time with the MedCorps (the belt looks much like a togruta’s headdress and it is one of her more prized possessions). Personality Profile Rahja is a rather capricious woman, often unpredictable in her decisions, attitudes, and opinions…her true personality shielded by several ‘shells’. Her exterior ‘shell’ is one consistent with the Chiss race: calm, cool, and disciplined; however, this is far from the true woman and is often the only thing seen by strangers…people she hasn’t come to trust in any manner. This persona is often calculating, harsh/critical of others, aloof, sarcastic, and withdrawn. It also can be a form of survival for her, bringing up this shell she shifts into a more focused frame of mind, bringing forth her sniper and jedi training more easily and allowing her to think more clearly under stress. Her second ‘shell’ is far more docile: more easy going, calm, and open than the first, this is the shell most often seen by ‘friends’ and acquaintances. This persona is often the one she uses to instruct others and react to people she is familiar with. She seems laid back, easy to approach (for the most part), more likely to tease or smile, and more likely to help others. This is the ‘shell’ she uses to deal with the majority of people she has come to know; since she doesn’t easily deem people ‘trustworthy’ or ‘friends’ most people don’t make it past this part of her. Her third ‘shell’ is the least predictable, with emotions that swing swiftly and easily from one extreme to the other with little warning and triggering her other shells to come up to shield herself and others; she seems to be most sensitive in this state. This persona holds the base emotions: happiness, sadness, anger, and affection. Though happiness is the main emotion for this shell, causing Rah to be at her most outgoing…laughing, joking, and smiling…it is also far easier to emotionally injure the woman, causing her to shift swiftly into another mood or bring up another shell to protect herself. This shell is rarely seen by any, and she would have to consider someone a close friend to allow them to see this side of her, trusting them enough to think that they won’t try to hurt her emotionally. The Core of Rahja is both the most, and least, complex part of her. If anyone is lucky enough to catch a glimpse of this part of her, they will be seeing her real self and how she truly thinks of herself. Self-depreciating, filled with sadness, hurt and anger, this is truly a dark side to Rahja. She is uncertain of herself and her abilities, often feeling lost and alone. In her eyes, nothing she does is good enough and she has deemed herself ‘unworthy’ and ‘cursed’ because of the things that have happened in her past. Riddled with emotional scars, she hides this ‘uglier’ part of her fiercely. The core of Rahja, however, holds a deep love and respect for life despite the fact that it is also this part of her that allows her to kill easily and in the most horrendous ways. The love buried here is the source of a great light in her, but she overlooks it constantly, only seeing the killer in herself. Only her family and her lover would ever be able to see this side of Rahja…others may catch glimpses the further they are able to penetrate into her shells, but never would she allow them to get a good look…not unless she was going to kill them, and by then, it would be too late. Her parents doted on their daughters as best as any commoner could in the Ascendancy. The family was happy enough for the first year of the little girls lives, but their father had fallen into trouble with a group of pirates that found Csilla the best place to hide out from the law. No one in their family knew how, or why, he became entangled with the outlaws, but it was made quite clear by their father that they would need to leave the planet. This was the beginning of the end for the little family, as their mother and father packed their things as swiftly as they could to try their luck on one of the other Ascendancy controlled worlds. To say that life wasn’t easy for the family of four would be an understatement. The pirates seemed to have revenge on the mind, and the young couple with their two children could only ever seem to settle on any one planet for a few months at a time…if that. Despite the desperate situation, and their parent’s constant paranoia, the little girls grew up relatively happy and blissfully unaware of the situation. At the age of five, however, things were destined to change. The two girls’ parents had already started training and teaching them, both in self defense and the way of the galaxy, yet Rahja seemed to have more abilities than just this. The little girl seemed to almost be able to guess her sister’s actions before they would happen when the two would play fight. Their parents had also made a life changing decision…to try and escape the vengeful pirates after them, they were going to leave Ascendancy space and try their luck on Mygeeto. Their time had been running out, however, since the family hadn’t seen the pirates in several months already, and they seemed to track them down at least once every year demanding large sums of money or the life of the girl’s father for repayment. As the family’s ship dropped out of hyperspace above Mygeeto they were surprised and dismayed to see the very pirates they had been trying to escape. The pirates had been just as surprised to see the Chiss since they were, in fact, not there for them…unfortunately for the family, however, the pirates weren’t about to give them any leeway, opening fire on the smaller, and less protected, ship. Hoping to find protection on the planet below, the Chiss headed for the surface while trying to evade the larger, and less maneuverable, pirate ship. A well timed laser round struck the family’s ship and the engines died, sending them careening to the ground near one of the small mining settlements. Luckily, they hadn’t been far from the ground and so the damage was not nearly as great, leaving the Chiss inside battered and bruised, but alive. As they escaped the burning and wrecked ship, the pirates had already landed. In a few moments the men were upon them, their father putting up a fight to protect his family, but he was soon shot down, followed by Rahja’s sister. The pirates, seeing Rahja and her mother’s beauty, decided to take the two as slaves for the Hutts as repayment for the deal that had been broken with them because of Rahja’s father. Despite the uncertainty and fear she felt, Rahja assessed her situation. She was on a frigid planet, several men were surrounding her, the smoldering wreck of her family’s ship was in the background, the dead forms of her father and sister were near by, and her mother had been tied and gagged. Not far away, her father’s dagger had been flung to the side, landing in the snow, and she dove for it, her heart full of anger and fear at the situation. The men were closing in on the young girl and she struck out with the dagger letting her feelings and emotions guide her movements, injuring the first man to come close before kicking the next in the groin. As they fell, she grabbed one by the throat and she dug the dagger into the chest of the other. Surprised by the girl’s actions, the men stopped, stunned. She pulled the dagger up through his body past the throat and into the mouth before shoving it up into the man’s brain. Pulling the dagger out she dug her fingers in around his windpipe, not seeming to care about the blood as she dug in past the skin and pulled, ripping the man's throat out. The other men rushed in but she darted away running around them to attack the backs of their legs to cripple them. Just as she was about to attempt this, a Jedi, who had been on a mission to Mygeeto, had appeared, having felt the girl through the force. Upon seeing the situation, he dispatched the rest of the pirates and freed the girl’s mother, however, she was injured badly. Taking the two of them back to the colony, he began teaching the girl to speak basic. He’d already taken a blood sample from the girl and knew she had the midichlorians to become a good jedi. After finding a translator, with some difficulty, he convinced the woman to allow Rahja to be taken back to the jedi temple to be trained as a jedi. Rah's mother died later that day. Becoming a Youngling Despite her earlier display of cruelty, the girl was more happy and fun loving than she was dark and evil, so the Council allowed her to become a youngling and start learning the ways of the force in hopes that she would become a jedi. These years were full of learning for the young girl…everything from learning Basic to learning how to control and manipulate the force and wield a lightsaber. Though she tended to keep to herself, the little Chiss managed to make a few friends in her learning group and after another youngling was injured during the evening meal by accidentally dropping his knife, it was discovered that the little girl had talent in healing. Because of this, she was put into lower level healing classes by age 8. She excelled at sense abilities and mental abilities as well as healing, but could only get a basic grasp of body skills and next to nothing in telekinetic. She was average in her saber skills, only just keeping up with the class, but she drank in theory and philosophy, absorbing the masters’ teachings and wise words like a sponge. As she reached age 12 and still no master had come to her, the girl found herself feeling more and more upset despite her meditations and attempts to calm her mind and heart. Watching her friends find masters easily, she began to wonder more and more what it was about her that kept the knights and masters from accepting her as a padawan. Feeling less at ease, less confident, and less content, Rahja began to fall behind in her classes as she withdrew more into herself. Perhaps, she thought, it was because they could feel darkness in her because of the pirates she had killed…the ones that had been burned into her memory. This was not the case, but the more she thought about it, the more upset she became despite trying her best to remain calm and attentive. Reaching the critical age of 13, and still having not found a master, Rahja was brought before the Council. Sensing the girl’s disquiet and feeling that, if trained further, she could fall to the dark side, the Council decided that it was time for her to be reassigned to the Jedi Medical Corps. Banished to the MedCorps Despite the hurt that she felt at not becoming a padawan, and thus a full jedi, Rahja kept up hope that perhaps she would still find a master in the MedCorps. Her time in the Corps was fulfilling despite the pangs of disappointment in herself it brought around as she watched and healed the various knights, masters, and padawans that came through the medical bays she worked in. The masters that she worked with were kind and intelligent, swiftly earning Rahja’s respect and teaching the 13 year old the ways of healing through the force as well as with regular medical treatments. It was here that she had met Sihara Horula, a young Togruta padawan with a knack for healing. The two became decent friends and talked often about the patients that came and went when the younger woman wasn’t out with her master on a mission. It was when Rahja was 21 that she truly began to feel discontent, knowing that her chance for a master to find her had passed. It was also this time that Sihara had returned to the temple for a time, working once again in the medical wings of the temple on Coruscant. One day a severe case came through testing both the Togruta and Chiss’ abilities as a team of healers was set up to try and save the critically injured padawan. In the end, the young man had needed to be fitted with a rebreather…though Rahja would never come to know this as she left the Corps shortly after helping heal the young man. Having been pushed aside by the masters who lauded over the natural talents of the young togruta, Rahja felt more than inadequate and opted to leave the jedi permanently. Now having less than nothing…only the clothes on her back and a small sum of credits to her name, Rahja would spend the next few years trying to find her way in the universe trying everything in the spectrum between working for a small medical clinic to being a mercenary. It was this last profession that she finally found her place for the next chapter of her life. Merc Work The 23 year old Chiss had happened upon a particularly interesting human during a trip to a local cantina and the two had hit it off immediately. The Chiss woman had learned in the two years away from the jedi to be cautious, and the man, Shelk, had found his interest peaked by the mysterious blue woman. In their talking they had come to an understanding: she needed work, his crew needed a medic and would be needing a new sniper soon…and so an agreement had been made. That night Rahja became a mercenary. Unfortunately for the young woman life in the jedi temple didn’t exactly train one to become a mercenary…Rahja found that she had A LOT to learn. The first few months of her new job found Rahja more frustrated than ever before as she tried to grasp the subtleties of mercenary life, where nothing was straight to the point. The subterfuge and verbal ‘dancing’ one had to do on the job was something that seemed out of reach for the typically open and blunt woman, but she was slowly learning. Her work at learning the art of sniping, however, was going smoothly as the wiry and light footed woman seemed built for getting into an out of tight places and her dark coloring allowed her to hide in shadows easily. Her aim was improved by training and aided by her use of the force, and she was swiftly mastering the art of a sniper rifle and stealth. With her new skills in stealth and sniping being mastered swiftly, Shelk decided it was time to bring Rahja on more difficult missions. By the end of the year Rahja had become the best sniper the team had and was ready to take over for the retiring sniper. During one particular mission Rahja was caught off guard while in position to snipe her target, and forced into a hand to hand battle with her attacker. Unfortunately, Rahja was badly injured as the man ripped into her side with his knuckle claws, leaving her side deeply cut and bleeding profusely. Taking the pain and fear she felt for her life, she had grabbed the man’s hand and with a swift motion had broken his arm, plunging the claws into his own gut up to his hand. Swiftly loosing blood, Rahja had returned to her rifle and barely made the killing shot before losing her grip on it and falling to the ground. Barely conscious, she drew in on the force, channeling it to heal herself as best she could before falling unconscious. It wasn’t much, but the effort was enough to keep her alive until Shelk came to find her after she didn’t respond to his commands over the ear piece they each had. Finding her injured and bleeding, he had carried her and her gear to the ship where they immediately took her to the nearest medical facility. It took the young woman several weeks to heal from the injury. During this time Shelk spent a great deal of time with Rahja, feeling it was his fault for not preparing her well enough for situations like the one she had gone through. While they spent more and more time together it was obvious to the rest of the crew that a relationship was forming between the two. By the time Rahja was released, the two were on close terms and were an item in all but name. Over the next year, Shelk taught Rah the intricate process of being a spy. With his close tutelage she not only learned swiftly, but bordered on becoming an assassin, her prowess in stealth and subterfuge, coupled with her natural air of mystery making her a dangerous opponent because one could never know just what she was thinking, never mind what she might do next. The year they had spent training together during missions had only brought the two closer and made them a deadly team…with the rest of the small crew the mercenary group was a force to be reckoned with. Her new job title often required the woman to get information from others, and so she became, unfortunately, an expert at torture as well. As Rah’s third year with the mercenary team came around, Shelk proposed. The thrilled Chiss couldn’t believe her luck and readily agreed. This was the week before a mission where the crew were hired to intercept a Sith assassin who was rumored to be targeting a diplomat from Manaan. Tip of the Iceberg The week proved to be full as the team worked to procure information about the assassin and his target from the military, senate, underworld, and fringe society. Shelk and Rahja had their plates full as they tried to gain the information they needed as their slicer and smuggler/pilot worked on gaining them whatever access codes, maps, and intel they might need about the areas they needed to infiltrate to get that information. Finally, at long last, they had a date, time, and place for the hit. With her roll as spy fulfilled for the moment, Rahja had prepared her rifle and set herself up in her chosen vantage point. As day turned to night, and night back to day, Shelk and the others got into position according to plan. Unfortunately, that was when things went wrong, and Rahja’s bad luck seemed to catch up with her once again. The Chiss sniper was helpless to stop the turn of events as the slicer and smuggler were silenced, and forced to watch through the scope of her rifle as Shelk was cut down by the flaming orange saber of the sith assassin…they hadn’t learned that the assassin was a dark jedi. Furious and numb with what she had just seen, Rahja took her shot before the dark jedi could react. By sheer luck…or perhaps skill and the will of the force…the shot struck true, killing her target. Grabbing what little gear she had and rushing to the scene, Rahja arrived just in time to have Shelk die in her arms. Heartbroken, the med teams and security forces found the woman sitting silently, still holding the man, his glass pendant held tightly in her hand. The plan had been foiled, she had been cleared of any crimes and deemed a minor hero…but at the cost of the lives of her friends and lover. It wasn’t worth it to her…nothing was worth anything to her any longer. For a year the Chiss woman seemingly dropped off the face of the Galaxy, making a meager living any way she could as she hunted down and killed those who had been part of the assassination plot that had killed her lover. The deaths, when found, were atrocious…planned and executed with accuracy and obvious hate. Hell Hound 2 - The Reaver Half way through the year, the 25 year old returned to Coruscant and enlisted in the Republic Army, deciding that her talents should be used for something more than just killing for her own selfish reasons. She was still a follower of the light, despite her actions and her self loathing because of them. Shortly after her enlistment, she was assigned to the "Hell Hound" unit, a group of elite soldiers who's talents made them prime choices to be the "silencers of dissidence" in the Republic...glorified hit-men. Their job was to seek out and "silence" those they were sent after. "No one will know you're any different from a regular soldier, but you're our eyes and ears...and you're our teeth. Someone gets out of line, we sick you on them and like a guard dog you make sure they go down and stay down..." those were the words of leader of the Hell Hound division. Often working alone as either a sniper or spy, Rahja has developed a reputation for being a maverick in her trade, preferring to do things her way and often as far from being “by the books” as possible without outright breaking the standards of the military and her own morals…which tend to be rather lax. Now, five years into her service, Rahja has been given a new AER recon droid and assigned to a team for the "first" time since her enlistment in hopes of shaping her into a more “respectable” military officer. Wreak Havoc Rahja was good at her job. She excelled at it, in fact. Her dossier had more black and red in it, was locked away under some of the most secure coding the Republic had...As the first operational member of the team, Rahja was at the top of her game. She worked across the galaxy in some of the thickest parts of the escalating war with the Sith and Mandalorians. She was rarely seen on the battlefield, but when she was she would slip in, cause havoc among the enemies, then slip out again without the bat of a lash. Typically, however, her targets were surgical strikes at influential members of the Sith empire and their supporters. Because of this she was finally targeted by the Empire in return, who hired a particularly skilled mandalorian mercenary. Strangely enough, however, the very mercenary who dragged her in...also broke her out again. It was certainly a memorable experience for her, and she found it unfortunate that they were on the wrong sides of the fight to see more of each other. Still, Rah found interest in one of her close friends (one of the very, very few she had) in Project Familiar: Sean Mu'haro. The two had some sort of chemistry, and worked well on the battlefield together. Even so, Rizzen Xan wasn't out of her life quite yet either. Despite her ability to work closely with Mu'haro and his familiar (Ayer), Rahja found herself wrapped up with Rizzen once more while tackling a particularly dangerous Anzat who not only worked closely with the Xan family's banking enterprises, but also happened to run a number of Imperial safe houses. Time and work would eventually drag her away from both once more, however. It always did. Not that it would be the last time she had seen either, oh no...she did end up having to torture Rizzen at one point (which was not at all pleasant for her), and Sean (being connected with Familiar) was always in and out of her hectic life....but in the fast pace of her work, it simply wasn't possible for her to focus on any sort of relationship. Not that she was willing, either, and eventually Rahja would return to Csilla to further learn and grow in her culture, taking every opportunity possible to try and reconnect and center herself in a place where she was...normal. Not that she was safe there either. Safety wasn't something her life afforded her for some reason, and oddly she felt both (vaguely) welcomed and threatened by members of House Nuruodo. Upon returning to 'work' once more, Rahja wore a series of intricate scar-like, silvery, tattoos along her face and body from her time in the Ascendency, though when asked she has declined to speak on how or why she got them other than to say the could be seen as similar to those of a Mirialan. Now she's back on the hunt for a new Hound member and guess who she has in mind for the spot? Everybody's favorite bumbling sniper, and Ayer. Model #: AER-04 Status: Operational Special Ability: Runner's Respite: Various systems capable of disrupting sensory equipment rendering the model nearly undetectable. Moral code allows him to blatantly ignore orders in the face of right and wrong. Advanced targeting system. Assigned Name: "Sender" Role: Covert Recon / Adviser Personality: Sender holds a sort of little brother relationship with Ayer though often appearing a bit more level-headed and analytical. However this only serves to partially cover the caring, loyal, and curious nature that embodies his true character. ------------------------------- AER Update With recent advances made in the devlopment of the REA and FIDES units, a reevaluation of the the AER software and multiple performance systems has been released.
