Eli Idriya Full Name • Eli Idriya Nickname • Li Race • Human/Zabrak Birthplace • Nar Shaddaa Age • 18 Gender • Male Sexuality • Heterosexual Faction •Fringe Concept • Rank 1 - aspiring racer Languages •Basic, Huttese. Assets • An old, banged up speeder. Appearance Face Claim • Art by Bearcub Height & Weight • 184 cm, 80 kg Overall Looks • To most people, Eli looks like an average Zabrak. He has vestigial horns and facial tattoos which are a trademark of the species. His human blood can be only seen upon a closer inspection. Unlike most Zabraks Eli has thin eyebrows and facial hair he has to deal with regularly. Eli doesn't really stand out from the crowd of near-humans. He is rather tall and athletic, thanks to the daily exercise regime and has absolutely no interest in fashion. Eli prefers plain, unassuming clothes on which an occasional stain or tear can be found. If he let his hair grow, they would have deep black but Eli prefers to shave them to look more like a Zabrak than human. The young halfling could be called handsome with his high, elegant cheekbones and keen, green eyes if not for the thin lips which give him a look of stern aloofness. Personality Profile There is nothing very Zabrak in Eli's personality. He is flexible, open-minded and knows when to let go. On occasions, his temper can flare but Eli learned early that volatile smart mouths don't live long on Nar Shaddaa. Instead, he adopted a stoic, lackadaisical attitude which some may find annoying. He often intentionally pushes others away, testing their patience. Not because of any antisocial tendencies but more due to trust issues. Eli isn't the sharpest tool in the shed but he makes up for it with intuition and streetsmart. He never felt the need to pursue knowledge, even prefers to remain ignorant when it comes to local politics. A loner by nature, Eli doesn't feel the need to engage in group activities be them illicit or not. It saved him from being dragged into one of many gangs inhabiting the Hutt space. One could say Eli is a rare type of a quiet sensation seeker. He loves racing and speed which makes him a bit of a risk taker. It is his way of dealing with less than pleasant reality: financial struggles, an ill mother, troubles with identity. Despite being a racing adrenaline junkie, Eli has been taught to tell right from wrong. His mother instilled in him a moral compass pointing due north, an uncommon trait for someone brought up in the Nar Shaddaa underbelly. Background Father • Unknown Mother • Golda Idriya, 37 years old Siblings • - Other Important Connections • None yet Overall History • Eli was an accident. Not a happy accident, not even a moderately neutral accident. His mother, Golda, was only nineteen when spent one, a reckless night with a stranger Zabrak. Afterward, she couldn't even recall his name. The young woman hid her condition from the strict family and chose to live in a blissful denial until nothing could have been done but giving birth. Despite the circumstances surrounding his conception, Eli had never felt that Golda didn't love him. On the contrary, she was a good, caring mother even when struggled with bouts of melancholy. He had never heard from her 'I wish I aborted you' or 'You ruined my life'. From other family members yes, but not from Golda. She sacrificed plenty to raise him: education, family ties. Even without his mother mentioning it, Eli still carried guilt and stigma of an unwanted child. Others around them made a good job of reminding him about it. The situation of their small family was almost always dire. Golda struggled to make money and often relied on her mother's financial aid. One of the first phrases Eli learned was 'too expensive'. His unapologetic grandmother sometimes called them 'spongers'. Another word the boy picked up quickly. The atmosphere at home and constant lack of credits forced Eli to grow up quickly. He never finished middle school, instead went to work. At first, those were odd jobs here and there, but after a while, the young half-Zabrak discovered he had a knack for mechanics and driving. Working as a delivery boy at a shabby company taught him how to handle a heap of scrap that resembled a shuttle. When he was sixteen Golda's mental health rapidly declined. She became detached from reality, afraid to leave home and delusional. Supporting the family became the boy's sole burden. Two years later Eli picked up a job as a bartender in one of the rundown alleys of Nar Shaddaa. The money is tight and slowly his situation is growing more and more desperate. The only real credits could be made in the criminal underworld and soon Eli may not have a choice but to finally join it. |
