Shan Tuyet Tasting Notes 16th of SpaceJune 3592 @ 4:01 pm TEA NAME: ‘Shan Tuyet’ TYPE AND SOURCE: Black Tea, Vietnam COMPANY and COST: what-cha 5.13 / 50g DRY LEAF: Shape: wiry, long Color: black with some lighter tips Fragrance: malty, fruity WET LEAF: Fragrance: like dry, more intense Appearance: still twisted up IN THE CUP: Color: dark reddish brown Fragrance: malty Flavor: surprisingly mild for a black tea, pleasant but underwhelming Aftertaste: slightly tannic, doesn’t linger STEEPED: 2 tsps in 12 oz of water, for 3 minutes at 200° F ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Inoffensive without sweetener or diary. Lost track of second steeping and to it's credit, this tea didn't get bitter. Silver Needle Tasting Notes 25th of SpaceJune 3592 @ 1:22 am TEA NAME: ‘Silver Needle’ TYPE AND SOURCE: White Tea, Feng Qing, Lincang, Yunnan, China COMPANY and COST: what-cha 10.25 / 50g DRY LEAF: Shape: single leaves long and rolled up, fuzzy! Color: silver and sage green Fragrance: very floral, perfumelike WET LEAF: Fragrance: spinach Appearance: starting to open up, uniformly green IN THE CUP: Color: pale amber and clear, can see all the way to the bottom of the cup Fragrance: floral again, but not harsh Flavor: lightly sweet Aftertaste: warm and coating STEEPED: 2 tsps in 12 oz of water, for 3 minutes at 190° F ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: --- TAGS: #teatime MOOD: Apprehensive MUSIC: Moonbeam by Lord Huron Link | Leave a Comment | {0} Comments
